Bondi Gets Nod for AG

Timothy Birdnow

Looks like it's Pam Bondi for DOJ. We'll have an AG-Hag, it seems (not really calling her a hag, just couldn't resist the wordplay.)

Longtime Trump friend and impeachment attorney Pam Bonndi is Trump's pick for Attorney General. While she may face fewer confirmation problems than Gaetz she will certainly have an uphill climb. The former Florida Attorney General faces a formidable task, and the character assassination will begin immediately.

I like the pick; Bondi is from outside the Beltway and has no ties to the Ivy League as so many other possible choices have.

She is married to Wisconsin Congressman Scott Fitzgerald. I did a little research and he's prettty good - not great but pretty good. He favors things like government spending on "renewable energy" and opposes government identification for voting (how could anyone be against that given the modern cheating?) He does receive an A+ from the pro-life Susan B. Anthony Foundation.

(You CAN judge a person by the company they keep, and especially by their spouses.)

At any rate she may be an excellent pick - or not. Time will tell. I fear she won't be as aggressive or combative as Mr. Gaetz. Right now we need such as AG. I am mindful of The Godfather when Michael Corleone fires Tom Haen "you're not a wartime consigliere". We need a wartime Attorney General, not a consensus builder. Whoever takes the post will either take massive amounts of abuse or they will shirk their duties. What we are attempting will be a little dangerous, to put it mildly.

1 From what I've read, Bondi IS a wartime consigliere -- a real bulldog, though she doesn't look like one. As Trump is fond of saying, we'll have to wait and see, but I think she's who he had in mind all along.

2 Well Dana I can't say I disagree. Trump knew his pick for AG would meet stiff resistance and he may well have nominated Gaets as a throwaway with Bondi the choice all along. Gaetz for his part might have agreed tto it - why not?  Everybody was well served with this (except the American People who lose Gaetz from Congress).

It still frosts my backside that this happened to Gaetz. I am sure this is Kevin McCarthy's revenge. I  do hope to see these RINO types, these insiders, get theirs.
