This is priceless! Gaetz may be returning to the House of Representatives!
Seems there is a little known rule whereby he cannot resign while Congress is not in session. So if he comes back and wants his seat they will have to seat him!
Oh, that is DELIGHTFUL! Can't wait for media heads to explode! Whoopie and Sunny will suffer aneurysms.

Trump should give him a plum assignment that does not require Senate approval.

I would expect that Trump will have a good assignment for Gaetz, in return for Matt's agreeing to play his part in this neat acting scene. Because scene it was; as usual, Trump was playing 3D chess, and I am not going to castigate him for it.

I hope so Dana. I tend to think this was a setup too. But it set a bad precedent; Trump "lost" one battle already in the public perception.
Any loss encourages more resistance and right now it's important for the Democrats and RINO's to be cowed by Trump. Right now Trump is frightening to them and they dare not buck him at the moment. That will change. This "loss" may have been what Trump intended but it tarnishes his momentary glory and he needs it now. Now is the time to ram everything home, while his victory is still fresh in everyone's mind.
But, as you say, Trump usually knows what he's doing and he likely has a strategy at work. I certainly hope so. He made serious mistakes in the past and I hope he doesn't make them this time. He is a quick study.
