Bad Night for the GOP

Timothy Birdnow

The Democrats won a vacant seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, all but guaranteeing the Democrats will get away with stealing the state.

Granted, the Democrats always do well in off-year elections, primarily because they have the machine to get out the votes - and they are willing to cheat. Republicans don't try very hard in such special elections.

But this suggests America is too apathetic and immoral to survive. We can see now why nations fail; their people are too stupid to see what they are doing is killing them.

Oh, did I mention there were problems with the voting machines in PA?

In other bad news the Donkeys won the Virginia House and so now control the state legislature. And in Ohio a constitutional amendment passed making abortion a civil right.

It was a bad night last night.

1 The whole damn thing is that the country is besotted on abortion, and the Republicans are running the wrong way on it.

2 Dana the thing about abortion is most in America FAVOR restrictions in the first three months. The GOP has allowed the media/Democrat complex to make it appear the end of Roe was the end of a civil right which of course it was not - neither a civil rigtht nor the end.

The GOP should have taken it slowly with abortion. They tried to move to fast in the states. And the pro-ldeath lobby is well funded and drving a panic.

What we should have done was just let the ruling stand and perhaps issues some new regulations. Then little by little whittled away at it. That's how the Left usually does it.

It was a mistake to go straight at it; this was a sacred cow.

Now often one is wise to follow Sun Tzu's admonishion "seize that which the enemy holds dear" but you first must be able to seize it. The GOP wasn't in position to do so.

At any rate I don't  follow the conventional wisdom that says we lost because of abortion. I think there was much more going on and the media wants us to THINK abortion was the b ig issue so we pull in our horns.

I know; Ohio voted overwhelmingly for abortion in the state constitution. But this was a special election and those never are truly representative of the People as a whole. No doubt all pro-aborts turned out for that while probably few pro-life people did.

That said, the fact remains it is an issue hurting us at the moment. But if it weren't abortion there would be some other wedge issue they would find.

At any rate, I wonder how much fraud entered into this election; we are getting a lot of reports of it.

Until the Republicans get their act together and go after Democheating all hope is lost.

There was quite a few good things last night too, things that are giving the liberals gnawing butterflies in their bulbuous bellies. Long Island went for the GOP, for instance. Louisiana's AG is now a Republican. There are others.

At any rate it was not good but it wasn't the disaster we are being told - but that is going to only reinvigorate the RINO wing of the party who will want to "move to the middle" even while they lost in the places where the middle has been killing them. Kentucky for instance. How do you get a Republican in a state that elects  Mitch McConnell?
