Is this really a surprise? There are plenty of articles that tell us that EVs are basically expensive junk.

Exactly right Dana.
I saw a nature special once on buffalo and wolves in Canada. The wolves show up, sit down relaxing while the buffalo stood facing the wolves nervously. Eventually a coward would turn and run and the wolves; knowing this moment would come, charge. All the buffalo turn and stampede in panic and the wolves take down the animals of their choice. It's a dance as old as the species.
It reminded me of the Democrats and the GOP, with the GOP in the roll of the buffalo.
The Left is forever on the attack and the right at most fights a slow retreat. We NEVER attack.
Trump attacked which is why they HAD to destroy him by any means necessary. He was upsetting the natural order.
