The Beasts of Gaza

The Beasts of Gaza

by Timothy Birdnow

10/9/2023

And the evil angel fell like lightening from the sky
Upon the children of Abraham so all of them should

die
faceless beasts with blood upon their hand
in hatred they sow terror as the demon stalks the

land

The men of power, the mighty men, gape impotent and

feckless
victims of their self regard and policies so

wreckless
the monstrous wrath, the demon's path, Hell embraced

with a kiss
as all the souls are poured from bowls
the coals rise from the abyss

In a world where man is god and God is jut a fable
our feeble plan is trod under the feet of one more

able
the demon's fury, the bodies buried, the flames

streak 'cross the sky
the elders groan amid the bones, the children just

ask why
they cry as they watch their loved ones die

Death stalks every door, and Hell falls from the air
the monsters go about their chore and kill the people

there
they make excuses for their abuses but they really

just don't care
women and children are easier killing
and the monsters find it thrilling, with their cold

and hateful stare

In an hour of desperation when so many lost

respiration
we will ask how this evil was brought
Was it God who hath wrought?
in desperation the answer is sought
but it's not what we thought

Is it He who is to blame?
Or rather is it we, who are far too smart to see
in our pride we refused to call on His Name?
still in our heart we ignore all our shame

The wise give counsel, the leaders talk, the warriors

plan their battle
The wise are naught but learned fools and the leaders

caught by pretty ghouls and the warriors more like

cattle

As in the days of Lot the malaise and the rot
sends a stink to the High One above
as He casts down his gaze on brave Man's evil ways
He will soon send the horsemen to trot

Beware Oh men of the worldy mind
for destruction sneaks upon you from behind!
And your proud nations with all your power
will feast on the rations of the bile of the hour

The land is burning as the People scream
while the old man sits and he spoons his ice cream
devoid of his wits he croons in a dream
while Hell throws it's fits and the evil ones scheme

As the children of Jacob are slaughtered like sheep
called to the sup of the beast of the deep
and the worms of the Prophet like vermin just creep
into the homes of the poor sound asleep
One must ask who it is who has slaughtered the kid
in the end we must admit that all of us did

Disconnect

Timothy Birdnow

So, the moonbats at MSNBC think Israel is to blame for the unprovoked attacks on her citizens.

https://www.breitbart.com/clips/2023/10/07/msnbc-israel-caused-attacks-on-it-and-made-people-vote-for-hamas/

During MSNBC’s coverage of the Hamas attack on Israel on Saturday, MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin argued that the attacks on Israel are due to "people who have been living in Gaza,” being "blockaded, besieged, decimated economically and politically” and host Ali Velshi stated that Israel’s behavior is "why they voted for Hamas in the first place.”

Mohyeldin stated that "if you do not have some kind of mechanism that delivers justice for Palestinians, you are never going to have peace in the region. That’s what this is about. And I wrap up with a central point about, when we look back at the Oslo Accords, this was supposed to be the beginning of a two-state solution. The fundamental equation of Oslo was land for peace. And anyone who saw that unfold at the time, and looks at it now, tells you that, fundamentally, that is flawed. The Palestinians were not seeking land. Israel was seeking peace, but the Palestinians were seeking freedom. The very nature of the equation by which we have been looking at this conflict, the narrative of which we have been trying to understand what is happening has not been accurate. So, we are not able to accurately solve the problem, because we don’t actually understand what the reality is on the ground. Most Americans do not understand what does it mean to be living under occupation? What does it mean for 70 years to be dispossessed of your land, to be dispossessed of your self-determination? What does that ultimately mean for the people who are willing to go out and carry [out] these attacks? Why would anyone, why would anyone –.”

Velshi then cut in to say, "Why would you make a war with Israel, which you know has military might that’s ten times yours, or 100 times yours?”

Mohyeldin responded, "Exactly. Why are you going to war with a nuclear-armed country? …

here was this equation of deterrence that Israel wanted to impose on all of its neighbors. And it can, because when you are fighting conventional wars, countries will be afraid of nuclear weapons. But the people who have been living in Gaza, blockaded, besieged, decimated economically and politically, have nothing to lose. So, ultimately, when they’re making these kinds of calculations –.”

Velshi cut in to state, "That’s why they voted for Hamas in the first place.”

Mohyeldin cut in himself to say, "They have described them as nihilistic movements, and ultimately, when you see what you’re doing today and the consequences that Palestinians in Gaza are going to pay the price for, you have to wonder. Just, final point…the humanity of how we describe the victims on both sides is not equal. And we see that from our coverage today, and we understand it, rightfully so. But as others have been pointing out, where was the systemic coverage of all of the victims over the past several years, on both sides? Certainly the Palestinian side of it. That humanity is missing in the coverage.”

Blaming the victim aside (and that's a huge thing to set aside) one has to wonder at the total lack of self-awareness by these leftists. Every thing they say about the Palestinians and their desperation because they supposedly have been abused could be applied to Donald Trump and the MAGA people. The only difference is the Palestinians are actually guilty of murdering innocents.

Where, pray tell, is the "mechanism that delivers justice" for the American People? Mohyeldin is happy to deny that to the MAGA people who just want their country back, as MSNBC seems to believe is true of the Palestinians.

We in middle America are seeking freedom too. Why is that a good cause for the Palestinians but not those of us in the heartland who are having our country taken from us by a bunch of marxists?

(The reality is, of course, that "Palestine" was NOT seeking their freedom; it was offered. They want to drive Israel into the sea and want to take what the Jews have built. It is not analagous to what we are doing in America, where those who built this country want to keep it.)

" So, we are not able to accurately solve the problem, because we don’t actually understand what the reality is on the ground."

That sounds just like the media accusing normal Americans of being brainwashed by the Orange Crush; a total, complete failure to understand WHY so many of us supported, and still support, Trump. The media is willfully ignorant. Then you have Hillary Clinton saying we need to be "deprogrammed" aka that America needs re-edcuation camps similar to the Soviet Union.

They don't understand because they choose not to. We are evil people in their minds and must be destroyed. But terrorists who kidnap children, murder the elderly, and spread wanton destruction must be understood?

WE are living under occupation.

The Palestinians are not a people. They are disparate peoples who settled in the area. Their original country was Trans-Jordan but the Jordanians pulled out when the radicals led the war against the fledgling Israel. Palestine has been at war with Israel ever since, and has never negotiated in good faith.

I might add there are plenty of Arabs who are Israeli citizens and live peacably in Israel.

Of course, the current Progressive paradigm won't let US live peaceably in America, an America we built.

That's why we voted for Trump in the first place; we were "blockaded, besieged, decimated economically and politically, have nothing to lose. "

Our humanity is missing in the coverage of Conservative Americans every time the media speaks about us. We are cretins, or monsters, or imbeciles to them.

The Media and Left systematically dehumanizes middle America and then wonders why we support Trump. They can't understand our bitterness, us "bitter clingers, clinging to our God and guns". What do the Palestinians do? Cling to Allah and their guns. But WE don't go around killing people, or burning cities, or kidnapping. We never use our guns in rebellion; there were none of J6 despite the very best efforts to call it an "insurrection". So why is it we must understand the Palesinian rightous indignation but they won't bother to understand ours? Is it because we DON'T kill people?

The hypocrisy of the Left is indeed galling, but their lies to themselves and total lack of self-awareness is even more amazing.

VDH on the Attacks on Israel

Timothy Birdnow

The incomparable Victor Davis Hansen on the attack on Israel:

Why did Hamas stage a long-planned, carefully executed and multifaceted attack on Israeli towns, soldiers, and civilians—one designed to instill terror by executing noncombatants, taking hostages, and desecrating the bodies of the dead?

And how were the killers able to enter Israeli proper in enough numbers to kill what could be hundreds and perhaps eventually wound what could be thousands?

a) Ostensibly, radical Palestinians wanted to stop any rumored rapprochement between the Gulf monarchies—the traditional source of much of their cash—and Israel, by forcing the issue of Arab solidarity in times of "war”, especially through waging a gruesome attack aimed at civilians and encompassing executions and hostage taking. Iran likely was the driving force to prompt the war—given its greatest fear is a Sunni Arab-Israeli rapprochement.

b) Arab forces have had only success against Israel through surprise attacks during Israeli holidays, as in the Yom Kippur War (i.e., was it any accident that the present attack began 50-years almost to the day after the October 6, 1973 beginning of the Yom Kippur War?). And so they struck again this Saturday during Simchat Torah, coming at the end of a weeklong Jewish celebration of Sukkot—in hopes that others will join in as happened in 1973. (So much for the Arab warnings not for Westerners to conduct war during Ramadan).

c) Hamas may have reckoned that recent Israeli turmoil and mass leftist street protests over proposed reforms of the Israeli Supreme Court had led to permanent internal divisions and thus a climate of domestic distraction if not an erosion of deterrence.

But, more importantly, in a larger sense the Biden administration has contributed both to the notion that Hamas was a legitimate Middle East player, and to the perception that the U.S. was backing away from its traditional support for Israel—to the delight of Hamas—based on the following inexplicable policies:

1) In February Secretary of State Blinken had bragged that not only had the Biden administration resumed massive aid to the PLA cancelled by Trump, but cumulatively had transferred $1 billion—even as Palestinian authorities bragged that they would continue to pay bounties to the families of "martyrs” (i.e., those killed while conducting terrorists attacks against Israel).

And millions of American dollars also went into Gaza, run by Hamas—despite the Biden administration’s efforts to keep mostly quiet the resumption of such inexplicable support. In this regard, note the current shameful State-Department ("U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs”) website news release that was posted after today’s attack. It ended with this quite embarrassing, morally equivalent admonition:

"We urged all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.”

"All sides?” "Refrain from retaliatory attacks?”

So Israel is the moral equivalent of terrorists executing civilians and brutalizing their corpses? And the IDF then is not supposed to retaliate against these killers?

This Biden State Department insanity cannot stand. So expect some apparatchik to take down this Munich-like posting as soon as possible.

2) The Biden administration had recently released some $6 billion to Iran through a prison swap deal that saw South Korea hand over embargoed Iranian money to Qatar—despite Tehran’s increased anti-Israeli rhetoric and its loud brag about the escalation. We should assume money for rockets (Hamas claims they have launched 5,000, and have received 100,000 of them via the Damascus airport) and weapons in general for Hamas were supplied by Iran, which again is likely the chief catalyst for this surprise attack.

3) Almost immediately, after his inauguration Biden mobilized to resume the bankrupt Iran deal. And in unhinged fashion he appointed the anti-Israeli bigot, pro-Iranian journalist Robert Malley as America’s chief negotiator. Note that Malley is now under FBI investigation for security breaches, involving disclosing classified U.S. documents and also for allegedly helping pro-Iranian activists and propagandists land influential billets inside the U.S. government.

In short, there was a general Hamas and Iranian perception that the Biden administration had resumed the discredited Obama madness of empowering Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas. This discredited agenda was to "balance” the power of Israel and the moderate Arab Gulf governments to achieve "creative tension”, exacerbated by Biden’s loathing of the government of Benjamín Netanyahu (who has been snubbed by Biden and never invited for an official visit).

Note as well that the Biden administration has siphoned off key weapons and munitions from stockpiles inside Israel to transfer them to Ukraine. The so-called "War Reserve Ammunition—Israel” is all but depleted of just the sorts of weapons needed in the present crisis.

The GOPe Gaetz Him!

Timothy Birdnow

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse breaks down the reasons for the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man's removal ffrom the Speakership:

By: Sundance, The Last Refuge, October 3, 2023 |

According to multiple DC media sources, a quiet effort is underway by members of the professionally republican mindset to kick Matt Gaetz out of the House Republican caucus. However, the advocates worry they will be primaried by voters in their district, as the population of Republican voters supports Gaetz. It is a duplicitous dynamic.

Meanwhile, Kevin McCarthy has told his Republican conference that despite prior statements, he will not attempt to become the House Speaker again and will instead retire to his home district in California.

No one is quite sure what comes next; what is clear is that Gaetz has channeled the frustration of the Republican/MAGA base into an actionable result. This should not come as a surprise to the GOPs, although many of the cloistered clan continue pretending not to understand the dynamic at play.

Allow me to provide some simple clarity.

♦ In 2009 72% of the country, and an even larger percentage of the Republican voters, did not want Obamacare. The govt takeover of healthcare was along purely ideological grounds. For the 2010 midterm election, the professional Republican apparatus campaigned on this single issue – repeal Obamacare. The voters destroyed the Democrats and flipped 67 seats to Republican control. The professional Republicans wanted the House, frustrated American voters gave it to them.

The Republicans did nothing.

♦ In 2012, the professional Republicans campaigned on retaining the House and asked to begin a process of taking down the Democrat control of the Senate. Remember, it was a 60/40 Senate when the Obamacare boondoggle was begun. Keep the House, help us take Senate seats, and we will repeal Obamacare and balance the budget. That was the call of the 2012 professional Republicans. The voters delivered. The GOPe kept the house, took 6 seats in the Senate and introduced a wave of fresh Republican blood.

The Republicans did nothing.

♦ In the 2014 midterm election, the professional Republicans campaigned on retaining the House and now flipping the Senate with more GOP seats. Keep the House, give us the Senate majority, and we will repeal Obamacare and deliver a balanced budget. The voters again delivered. Beginning in January 2015, the Republicans controlled the House and the Senate majorities for Obama’s last two years.

The Republicans did nothing.

Worse still, even with professional Republican control of both chambers of congress, President Obama never had to use his veto pen.

♦ In the 2016 election, after the professional Republicans could no longer stop/block candidate Donald Trump, they said if we get the White House, retain the House and retain the Senate, we will repeal Obamacare, return to regular budgetary order, and balance the budget. Stunningly, against all the odds, the voters yet again delivered. President Trump won the election; Republicans now held the White House, the House and the Senate – as requested.

The Republicans did nothing.

Worse still, the professional Republicans acted as if they were the dog that just caught the car. Now they had no excuses, and as a result there was an exodus of retirements announced from the caucus of the professionally Republican to begin in 2018.

Simultaneously, the professional Republicans passively allowed the targeting of Donald Trump by a fully weaponized intelligence apparatus and justice system to commence. To say the professionally Republican were willfully blind would be polite and generously honest.

In the background the RNC did nothing. The California ballot harvesting operation of 2018 reflected a complete lack of action by the RNC or CA GOP. We all well remember how that operation expanded nationwide in 2020, again with the RNC doing nothing.

This is the reality of what took place between the elections of 2010 and 2020. Every ask of the professionally rRpublican apparatus was delivered by voters. Every ask of the voters in return was ignored. Effective January 2021, Obamacare still exists, no budget was ever produced, the borders were unsecured, the economy tanked due to Biden policy, energy and printing presses. Crises, along with insufferable government mandates, amplified and expanded from coast to coast.

The Green New Deal was passed by Republicans and Democrats, and the collapse of the economy came with it.

Clear enough?
Suddenly, as if there was no background of repeated broken promises and a complete failure to deliver on any key request, Kevin McCarthy and his legion of professionally Republican supporters pretend they cannot fathom why the base voters are more than happy to support Matt Gaetz.

End.

Tim adds:

The whole purpose of the GOP on the nation's political stage is to act as a foil for the Democrats to make it appear we have two party rule and an opposition. But that is a mirage, a con to hide the fact that all ships sail in the same direction.

The fact is the Republicans are not SUPPOSED to actually accomplish anything. They are to hold the line while the Left consolidates their power. And they are to provide a safety valve to let the average American blow off steam and to fight the wrong fights.

for their contributions the GOP gets to enjoy the prestige of the illusion of power and to make a lot of money and enjoy their lives, the Big Man on Campus.

But they are not supposed to actually work for the American People.

I don't know if this is explicitly stated to them when they arrive in D.C. or if it's just a case of everyone knows it, but I suspect a LOT of blackmail is involved. We know Dennis Hastert, former House Speaker, was in fact being blackmailed for molesting a boy years before. And we know about Epstein. So it's clear there is a systemic blackmail problem. J. Edgar Hoover didn't stay in power for decades because he was such a great guy.

Trump upset all that, as did Reagan before him. The power brokers didn't dare do to Reagan what they did to Trump, but they did go after him hard. Tried to make him have a "co-president" with Gerald Ford and did wish on him George H.W. Bush.

At any rate the Republicans are now furious at Gaetz for raining on their parade.

But we will make no headway if we don't start taking action. As Einstein said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. By that definition the GOP is batcrap crazy.

I would add Mr. McCarthy allowed Nancy Pelosi to keep the small Speaker's office in the Capitol. What did that say? It was an act of submission to her and everyone in D.C. understood that. Mccarthy was signalling he wasn't go to do anything against the liberal agenda he wasn't absolutely forced to do.

Gaetz objected. McCarthy had been given fair warning and yet he then dared Gaetz to pull the trigger. Gaetz called his bluff, and the Democrats McCarthy thought he had charmed did not come to the rescue.

So now they want to take out Matt Gaetz. It's no surprise; anyone who doesn't play by their rules is an existential threat and must be destroyed. They are going to Trump him, no doubt.

America is doomed unless we take control of the GOP and actually have an opposition party.

World at War

Timothy Birdnow

Let us pray for the People of Israel on this dark and terrible day. We stand with you!

And let us pray for the innocents caught in the crossfire between Israel and Hamas/Hezbollah. Not all Palestinians are guilty in this crime.

A couple of thoughts; first, Joe Biden funded this by giving Iran the money to allow them to pull this attack off. That's what you get when you play nice with vipers.

Second, Biden's war footing in Eastern Europe meant a total lack of attention on the eternal war in the Middle East. Now we don't even have the materials to aid Israel in what will be a brutal regional war - at a time there is another regional war ongoing. The two may merge at some point.

Russia has vital interests in Syria and is strategically allied with Iran. I suspect Putin gave Iran the go-ahead here. If not it still works in his favor. Now America will be torn between two wars.

Another thing; the Saudis were about to make peace with Israel. This was an attempt by Iran to derail that.

We seem to be moving inevitably towards world war. Iran wants that; then their 12th Imam can climb up from the well he fell down long ago and Islam will be triumphant across the globe, or so they believe. The Russians are happy to see us get involved in the region; it only squanders more of our wealth and weakens us further. The Chinese no doubt are pleased as well, as this instability only turns more nations to them and their leadership.

I ask what will the Turks do in all this? Theirs is a pivotal role, and Turkey may be a member of NATO but they don't swim in the same direction and could be one of the lynchpins of war. Sooner or later they may get drawn in on one side or the other.

And sooner or later America will be attacked in all of this. Putin has been playing close to the vest but if he feels cornered he'll take the fight to us. And that will be so very easy with a border than is completely unguarded. How many "immigrants" are foreign forces? We know a lot of Chinese have come in through the south. Not many Russians, perhaps, but probably a lot of mercenaries in the employ of Mr. Putin. Certainly a lot of Middle Eastern jihadi types.

So this attack on Israel has huge implications. We may well be seeing Revelations coming to fruition.

Now is a time to repent. If we turn from our evil ways and humble ourselves before our God He will forgive us and heal the land. If not we will reap what we have sown.

Joe Biden was a punishment on America and the whole world.

The Consumer Keeps Geting Weaker

Diane Kimura

This has ONLY happened 3 times since 1947

Savings as a % of national income has entered contraction territory

The last 2 times it happened was during the:

- Financial Crisis
- Pandemic

The consumer keeps getting weaker in a high interest rate - high debt environment

When the house of cards falls, it’s going to lead to a sharp economic downturn

Ozark Hilton Cleanup

Timothy Birdnow

Just returned from the Ozark Hilton, that fabled El Dorado in the rugged hills of south-central Missouri. I hadn't been there since the burglary, and I was putting it off because I knew how much work it would require, plus I was just a little bit gun-shy - literally. The jerks who burgled the place (is that a word?) might come back while I was there - and given the prospects of facing a lot more firepower than I can muster I didn't relish a confrontation. I would be in a pickle if I did. I just can't catch up in the arms race (alright; that's out of my system.)

At any rate I had planned to go weeks ago but didn't feel well on several of my planned days, and also had to clear a couple of weeks to take care of my dear wife, who had a major eye surgery. So I put it off as long as I could.

I had little choice; felt good, had a little time, and couldn't think of a single good excuse.

So I loaded up the truck and away I went.

I had to buy all new lanterns and shlep them down with me. I knew the thieves has stolen mine. They also stole my kerosene and so I had to buy a five gallon just and kerosene (at six bucks a gallon). I'll have to haul such things in from now on; these jerks clearly have been there more than once and will come back and steal anything else I leave.

I also had to stop and buy firewood in my favorite gas station along the way. Cherokee Pass is a small town, and it used to be quite quaint, with a big motel and a couple of nice diners, a Dog-N-Suds, and a couple of antique shops. No more; the state redid the highway, bi-passing the town and now it's dead, the diners closed, the motel boarded, no Dog-N-Suds. It makes me sad to see the death of such a nice little place.

But they do have a big gas station right off the highway and they sell the BEST firewood. Large, well seasoned bundles that don't smoke much. I bought two to take with me - the thieves cleaned out my wood pile too so I would have to cut more or buy it. As at the best of times the old wood in my pile smoked and popped, I would do well to get good stuff.

Especially since my stovepipe fell down and I didn't have tie to fool with TAT. It was old-school for me; a fire in my state-of-the-art HVAC system (a metal oil drum with a hold cut n the top and a stovepipe sticking out, along with a Weber Kettle barbeque pit lid for a door) with no outlet for the smoke. You have to stay low or your eyes will burn and you'll choke. But I didn't intend to be up and about much once I went into my "bedroom". And the outer room isn't heated, so I just have to endure the smoke in one room.

Anyway, the trip was pretty uneventful. I made my customary stop at the outhouse in St. Francois State Park (they really need to put up a plaque in my honor there) and drove on down to that faraway cabin in the woods.

Once I was down I began working like a donkey. The thieves hadn't just stolen stuff - they tore stuff up and dumped everything over. I had to pick it all up, and filled up a couple of case boxes that contained paper towels with trash. I had to clear a path to the door to the back room just to see what they did there.

They tore that room up too, but not quite as bad. My blankets and pillows were all over the place, on the floor. They pulled out the storage boxes I had but at least didn't dump them all over. The little bit of firewood I had left from last year remained. They didn't steal my butcher knives (which were in a case) nor a box of ceramic plates I had there. I was excited when I found a couple of lanterns they didn't steal, but it turns out they knew what they were doing; these were ones that didn't work anyway. They stole all the candles I had brought down. That made me sad; those candles had been my mothers, and they weren't really great for the cabin. I kept them in case of need, but didn't really want to burn them. They reminded me of her (rest in peace mom!)

At any rate I worked my tail off to get the place even remotely habitable. It's still a huge mess and will require multiple visits. But at least I was able to get it ready for the night.

Not enough light, but I did o.k. I'll have to get used to that.

At any rate I sat out on the porch and watched the dying of the light. It grew cold. The thieves didn't steal my thermometer outside and it would eventually show 42* by the time I went in. No doubt it was in the thirties that night.

No critters. I had hoped to have a little company, but none of my friends appeared.

So I went inside and tied to keep below the smoke line and set up my portable DVD player. I had found the whole series of House on DVD for thirty five bucks and bought it, and thought to watch some of it. Crazy; it is out of sequential order. Who would release something out of order like that?

I fell asleep somewhere around 11:00 and woke from the cold; the fire had gone out. But it wasn't much of a problem; I just relit it and was fine. Good thing it wasn't the dead of winter! I usually sleep on a futon, and don't even open it, just sleep sitting up. It's right next to the fire barrel and the firewood so all I have to do is reach over, grab a piece of wood, and toss it (literally)into the fire. But fires don't last long without tending. In the good old days people just let them go out and froze. The Indians I am given to understand would keep one person awake at all times to tend their small fires. They didn't build big ones because of the dangers of an open fire in a tent or thatched structure, so they had children and women take turns tending the fire. I sure could use a woman or child down there in winter! I could get some sleep then!

Years ago my wife's family had an outing to Big Springs, which is only about fifteen minutes away. Big Springs is a lovely place, with an enormous, blue spring pumping huge amounts of water into the Current River. (It is, I believe, one of the largest springs in North America.) It is nestled in a little valley with a big cliff behind it, and the Ozark Hilton is part of it's water table (so when I go to the bathroom it comes out there!) At any rate we went there with two of Cathy's nieces and her brother and sister and their spouses. We had a great time; but it was unheated and in November WAY too cold. Our cabin sat on a hillside, made of native cut stone with a very high ceiling. Two fireplaces, but they were more ornamental than for heating. The place was designed to be cool, not warm.

It was the coldest night I ever spent, and I've spent 'em in tents in the snow in January. I was up all night tending the fire in the bedroom while the nieces, tucked snugly in their beds, dreamed of sugarplums no doubt. I remember thinking dark thoughts; I could just hop in the car and be at the Ozark Hilton in fifteen minutes, and warm the rest of the night! But being a man sometimes requires us to make sacrifices. So I shivered and froze and tended the fire.

I've had some really cold days at the OH too. I remember sitting in my chair at the cabin, with a beer open. I had it on the floor and it froze! That's when it's cold! I had a beer slurpee by the end.

At any rate, it sure would be nice to have someone to tend the fire while I sleep down there. But i made do.

So this morning I was up before the dawn and had to wait for the sun to pack up and leave. Hauling all my fear to the truck is not just a little dangerous because there aren't any handrails and I'm not the man I used to be. My footing is a bit shaky. At one point I almost fell, and that had the potential for real injury. But I made it out o.k.

Stopped at a state park and threw away my boxes of trash and tried in vain to use the water-closet facility there. No outhouse for me! But my body rebelled and refused to sully so luxurious and pristine a place; I would have to wait for my hole-in-the-ground outhouse in the great yonder.

It was a long drive home and I was having trouble seeing. I often do; I have a number of eye conditions and my vision suffers. I am much like Quincy Magoo, and I would advise anyone who sees me coming to give me a wide berth! I drive just fine; it's the other people who are the problem!

It does worry me though. I usually don't drive far, and avoid the highways. No way to do that if go to the Ozark Hilton.

But I made it home alive and that's a good thing. And I never once drove on a rollercoaster, or tried to steer a ship with a life preserver.

Took a nap and awoke with my body one huge cramp. I will barely be able to walk for the next day or two. But it's a good kind of pain; the kind earned and not just endured.

Anyway it won't be as long until my next Ozark Hilton tale. As the man used to say, Same Bat time, same Bat channel!

Ticket to Georgia

Timothy Birdnow

In 2020 one of the big states that cost Mr. Trump was Georgia. And even now it's Georgia that brought charges against Trump. What had once been a solidly red state seems to be purpling out.

Why?

Demographics.  This from Susan Harris:

Most Georgians think of a tank when you say the word Sherman. They are all transplants from Chicago any way. The next town above me is Gainesville GA. When I go up there I exit on the Atlanta Highway and before you get to the downtown area you have to go back in time. Suddenly your in Mexico City with Mexican women sitting in a large group selling their trinkets. Then there are the street vendors selling food and I mean the real Mexican cuisine. For example a grilled hamster or a large slice of lizard belly. The old building are still there but the fronts all now have a Mexican motifs. What gets me is there are Chicago hot dog stands everywhere. The local Mercado is called the Navy Pier. I asked why is all the Chicago landmarks. Si senor, most of us are Mexicans from Chicago. Talk about a warped identity crisis and none of the Mexicans were born in Mexico. They were all born in Illinois or Georgia and they work in the local chicken processing plants around the city

The Stench of the Third Reich

Greg Malakov

Democrats think I'm exaggerating when I say the democrats are the new Nazi's that they say they dislike. I've found them to be proud that they will not tolerate another political party and that they have a secret police to wipe them out. I don't think taking kids to Holocaust Museums is teaching them anything.

Time for Churchill

Timothy Birdnow

The GOP is not one party but two, and only half of it is actually an opposition party, and of that half only a handful are actually trying to turn back the tide; the rest are enjoying the fruits of elected office. This country is in far too much trouble for business as usual. This is a war, not a disagreement. We need Churchill and not Chamberlain.

Kevin McCarthy was Neville Chamberlain.

And a majority of Republicans in the House liked that because they really don't want to stick their necks out. They have a good thing going and don't want to screw it up. That's been our problems for as long as I've been alive; the GOP is happy as a second banana, a party with little appeal (pun intended). Their job is to be a foil for the Democrats, and to make it appear there is opposition so the Conservatives in society don't blow up. Most Republicans are there to make money and offer a pressure valve, but it's intended to be a Potemkin Village; smiling peasants waiving at the Tsar from their new homes when in fact those homes are movie set false fronts and the peasants are paid actors who move along the river to appear in the next "town".

Kevin McCarthy was going along with that. He talked a good game but when push came to shove he was hat and no cattle.

Another point to ponder about all this; with Joe Biden being asleep at the wheel, a kind of political Rip Van Winkle, the Speaker of the House stands to be far more important than ever. Newt Gingrich came close to being America's Prime Minister, and that during the era of Bill Clinton, an oversized personality. Mr. Biden, you are no Bill Clinton! So if Jim Jordan becomes Speaker he could well be the big man on campus. He could well overshadow Biden, become more of a Prime Minister than a Speaker.

And if he plays his cards right and moves a pro-American agenda forward he can have major gains in the House in the '24 election, even with the Democrat vote fraud machine. If we can then get a Senate Majority Leader who doesn't undercut Jordan (something possible as Mitch McConnell is looking to share a room with Joe Biden at the Happy Acres Nursing Home and Hospice) We can make Joe Biden largely irrelevant. This is a great opportunity.

But the RINO wing of the GOP will fight Jordan's Speakership at every turn. Steve Scalise has thrown his hat in the ring, for instance, and I can see the knock-kneed Establishmentarians jumping on board THAT donkey cart. And make no mistake about it; Mitch McConnell will tamper with this to prevent Jordan from ascending to the Speakership. That is when he's not staring off into space.

Sadly, we got McCarthy because nobody wanted the trouble of the job and the RINO wing wouldn't vote for anyone other than a business-as-usual guy. So this is going to be a wild ride.

In the end Britain took Winston Churchill out of mothballs and put him in charge - and his iron will carried the nation to ultimate victory. America and the GOP need Winston now.

Color Revolution in Georgia

Timothy Birdnow

Anyone wonder why Ukraine is such a threat to Russia?
We're trying to overthrow the government of Georgia now.

Nation of Georgia accuses USAID of color revolution and coup.

The Russians aren't fools; they know what we are and have been doing.

Why the Elites Think they can Win in Ukraine

Timothy Birdnow

If anyone is wondering at how the elites are thinking about this war between Ukraine and Russia, here it is.

They see Russia in the same position as the U.S in Korea; not really trying to win this out of fear of escalation.

From the article:

"Moscow is trapped in a similar predicament today. Despite calls for peace by pro-Putin appeasers, it is Russia – not the West – that is most concerned with preventing escalation.

In fact, the evidence suggests that the Kremlin is willing to extend the conflict’s duration, sustain additional military casualties, tolerate Ukraine’s ground incursions into border regions like Belgorod, risk Ukrainian drone strikes destroying military targets in the Russian Federation, endure canceled commercial flights at international airports in cities such as Moscow, suffer crippling economic sanctions, and even endure embarrassing international isolation to avoid fighting a full-scale war against NATO.

Like the U.S. in Korea, Russia will not risk striking military targets located in NATO countries because Moscow seeks to contain the conflict within Ukraine’s borders, avoid massive retaliation from the Alliance, and prevent the outbreak of a great power conflict – or nuclear exchange. Given that Moscow’s mission to capture Kyiv in three days has turned into a 19-month fiasco, Russia already has its hands full with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Triggering NATO’s Article 5 and having the most powerful military alliance in history join the fight against Russia would be suicidal. This, above all else, is Moscow’s ultimate limitation in Ukraine.

The AFU is not subject to that same constraint. Having learned from the United States’ experience in Korea, the AFU is committed to expelling Russia from Ukraine’s borders. It is also able and willing to strike military targets deep within Russian territory to accomplish that objective. Furthermore, like the Soviet Union and China in Korea, Kyiv’s partners can afford to underwrite the war for as long as the Ukrainian people are able and willing to fight.

Hypothetically, the West could train tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and provide Ukraine with an unlimited supply of high-quality weaponry, ammunition, and humanitarian assistance. No matter how many weapons factories, storage facilities, repair shops, and training centers the West builds in neighboring NATO countries like Poland, Romania, and Czechia, Russia has no way of stopping those indispensable lifelines from reaching Ukraine.

Put simply, Russia can’t achieve total victory in Ukraine today for the same reason why the U.S. and its United Nations partners were unable to defeat the Korean communists decisively in the 1950s: rational and self-imposed restraint. The West would be wise to recall the lessons from America’s difficulties in the Korean War, reverse-engineer the requisite solutions, and expedite the transfer of deliverables required for Ukraine to expel Russia from its territory."

End

To quote Bugs Bunny "he don't know me very well, do he!"

Putin's prestige, nay, his very survival is dependent on winning this. He cannot allow Russia to lose.

And he has kept his best forces in reserve. Russia clearly has not thrown everything at Ukraine. Is that out of fear of Western intervention? No; he's already in country. Does that mean he'll really, really, really! invade this time?

This also fails to understand that Putin is backed by the BRICKS countries, especially China, and that this isn't like Korea at all in that regard. Our problem in Korea was that we were fighting a war in Asia, very far from home, and we were doing it with China right there, willing and able to send troops. And with the Soviets not far.

The fact is Korea was a charlie foxtrot, a very poorly strategized affair.

Also, we fought under the auspices of the United Nations.

Russia is not doing that. Russia can choose whatever strategy she wishes without having to beg for authorization.

But tis is how the elites are strategizing this, and how they believe there will be no major escalation.

They are nuts. Putin isn't going down without a fight. He'll use whatever is at his disposal.

Britain Looks to Ban Smoking

Timothy Birdnow

Britain is considering a total smoking ban.

This was always the goal. And many of us said so at the time.

Who died and made them our guardians?

And isn't it odd that they are making pot smoking easier while working to ban tobacco smoking?

The Winds of War

Timothy Birdnow

So the Department of Defense has released a new white paper to lay out strategies for preventing and mitigating an attack using weapons of mass destruction.

Interesting. We just enjoyed a test of the emergency broadcast system, done at the same time that the Russians conducted their own.

It sure does seem that someone is expecting something.

And the Next Speaker Will Be...

Timothy Birdnow

Steve Scalise is tossing his hat in the ring for Speaker of the House.

Scalise is probably best known for being the guy shot by the Democrat at the practice for the Congressional baseball game a number of years back. But he's well known and well liked. I think the chances are good he'll get it.

Don't get your hopes up; Scalise is another milksop. But he may be better, or at least more trustworthy, than McCarthy.

In other Speakeer news there are Republicans calling to make Donald Trump the Speaker.

You don't have to be a member of the House to be Speaker. You just wouldn't be able to vote.

I think that there ought to be a move to draft Newt Gingrich for another  go-round.

At any rate this is going to be a wild ride. Buckle up!

D.C. Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap

Beverly McCauleff Goff

This is an incredible piece of investigative journalism that shows what a lie the whole J6 narrative has been! Our government hid exculpatory evidence from defendants just so they could get long sentences and blame Trump! This is part one of the story that this journalist has been working on for the last year. Watch the video too because there’s information in there that isn’t in part 1 of the article.
Beck says: This is our government setting American citizens up, withholding evidence that's exculpatory, sentencing them to long sentences. ... This is as bad as it gets."

The Evils of Central Banks

This from John Madric:

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”

"I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale.”

Thomas Jefferson

Tim adds:

Jefferson stopped Hamilton from implementing what we have now. Aaron Burr aided in that (in the most direct manner possible). Hamilton still wound up getting his Bank of the United States.

We owe a debt of gratitude to Andrew Jackson for killing that monster. But then, they went right ahead and remade it with the Federal Reserve.

Now look at where we are at! Central banks are evil because they consolidate the power to tax and spend (and inflation is but a tax) into one agency outside of the control of the politic al process - thus shielding the politicians - and at the same time it is run b y people who are deep inside the power block and thus work for the wealth and power of the Deep State over the public good.

I would point to Nicholas Biddle, who tried to crash the economy so as to get Jackson to lose his re-election bid. Biddle raised interest rates and triggered inflation to wrecked he recovery under Jackson.

Central banks are solely at the service of those with wealth and power.

The Army of the Potomice

Timothy Birdnow

The fall is falling like an avalanche on the country, and you know what that means! All the delightful fall leaves will drop. We'll have apples and cider and hearty foods.

And my good friends the mice will return. In fact they already have!

I caught six mice in glue traps yesterday, all in the kitchen. My mouse whacker was busy swinging as I dispatched the little love children into the Great Beyond!

And the house is beginning to smell like a pet shop as they march through the place like Sherman through Georgia.

I can't really find any entry points. I don't know how those little monsters are getting in. I did find a hole in the ground (two actually) where I have been developing a sinkhole around a downspout. I had filled the sinkhole last year, but it's returned and I found two very definite holes. Are the mice burrowing in and coming through a gap in the limestone blocks of the basement walls? I have a bunch of junk piled up there, and the thought of dragging it all out simply exhausts me.

So I took a 40 pound bag of dirt left over from last year and filled the holes in.

But I suspect they have another entry point. Maybe on the roof? I have a two story house, but I don't think that would stop them.

Anyway one of the little buggers got caught on the trap and he SHRIEKED, I mean loud. I thought it was some large animal outside. Never heard such a loud sound from so small a creature. I dispatched him as quickly and painlessly as possible.

I do feel sorry for the mice. I use the glue traps almost exclusively because they get the bait off the snap traps way too often. I use the glue traps and poison, which they gobble at incredible rates (not sure it works.) But it's sad to see them trapped and know their terror as this great monster approaches (me). But I didn't invite them here, and they not only invades, true illegal aliens, but they also tear stuff up, poop everywhere, shed all over, stink the place up, and eat my food. And they don't even offer to leave a tip at the end of their dining experience. Not so much as a thank you note!

So I continue to kill them, as many as I can. I hope and pray there isn't some sort of karmic repercussions. If the Hindus are right I'll probably be reborn as a mouse and forced to run and hide from a giant monster too. And probably will meet my end stuck to a big piece of glue paper.

I looked it up; there is a patron saint in Catholicism for getting rid of mice. St. Gertrude. I'll let everyone know if she is on the job and delivers me from this terrible plague.
