Arguing with idiots: Mar-A-Lago Raid Edition

Timothy Birdnow

On Facebook Steven Chase made the following observation:

The judge who granted Trump's motion for a Special Master VERIFIED that it was indeed BIDEN who requested the FBI raid.
Biden and his entire staff have lied. (Pg. 2 of her ruling)
He not only knew of the raid but signed off on it.
So says the Judge, a Democrat by the way.

This led to a liberal idiot named Paul Easton to dispute Steve:

Perhaps you should actually provide the full text, pages 2 and 3, for context.

To be clear, Steve, the President requested NARA give the FBI access to the 15 boxes of records...your claim is disingenuous. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/read-the-judges-full-ruling-for-special-master-to-review-trump-documents

I reply:

Paul Easton the PBS article says nothing about any of this. Perhaps you would care to provide the relevant passages from the text?

Mr. Easton does what liberals always do - he tries to play three card monty:

Timothy Birdnow why don't you download the ruling like I did? The link is provided at the bottom of the article.

I reply:

Saturday Mornings

Timothy Birdnow

Last night my wife and I killed the evening listening to music  off the internet. I would tootle along with my recorder to old songs while she acted as D.J. While browsing around we found a site that played a collection of '60's and '70's cartoon theme songs, interspersed with the old commercials from that era. It was fun; they played the theme songs for cartoons I had long forgotten and commercials advertising products I also had forgotten (or at least the commercials.)  Most were for toys or games (Lite Brite, slinky, Don't Spill the Beans, Kerplunk, Operation, etc.) but the real stars were the breakfast cereal commercials!  Every last one of them was for a bowl full of sugar. There was nothing with any nutritional value whatsoever!

It got me thinking; is it any wonder my generation got so fat? I mean, we were eating this artificial material every morning for breakfast, full of carbs and sugars and preservatives. America's weight problem began with the kids just behind me in age and it kept up long after the end of the Saturday morning cartoon era thanks to efforts to stem the weight problem. But I really do think America's obesity began with those breakfast cereals.

And who did the manufacturers target? It wasn't the moms. They ran those commercials every Saturday morning and on most Sundays. Other times too, but usually after school as opposed to a time when the family was all watching something. The advertisers knew exactly what they were doing.

They knew that if they could convince the kids the kids would badger the parents into buying these poisonous compounds and feed them until they were of veal-like consistency.

I should know; I was one. I gained a lot of weight when I was just a very small child, and breakfast cereals was no small part of my weight problem.

My father tried hard. He used to buy healthy cereals - Heartland, which I actually liked but was expensive, less often Grapenuts. He would make us oatmeal in the morning if he had time. (My mother was a night owl and always slept in - especially Saturday mornings when I was up at the crack of dawn to watch all the cartoons.) When I was old enough I would make a bowl of cereal for myself and sit and watch my shows. OR I would attempt something more creative; my grandparents used to make me cheese toast and one morning I attempted it although I didn't know how they did it exactly, so I just put a couple of pieces of cheese on some bread and popped it in the toaster. Not toaster over, toaster. The resultant burning cheese ruined our family appliance and got me in the dog house for some time. Years later my mother said she was always on pins and needles about what I would do on Saturday morning. I once sliced my thumb with a knife trying to cut some date bread and almost severed the tendon...

At any rate, the point of all this is it got me to thinking about the power of advertising and how it was used almost as a weapon on children.

It also has me thinking about the modern political crisis we are in and how it relates to advertising - and how so very many people deny claims made by many of us that the media (and by that we mean not just the news but the advertising agencies, the corporations, etc.) manipulate public opinion. A large number of Americans think that is somehow "conspiracy theory" thinking, but if so why did those companies sell us all those chemicals in a bowl through those commercials? Anybody?

Advertising works, or companies wouldn't spend money on it. And there is more to the agenda than just selling. Things near and dear to the Progressive heart are often promoted along with the product.

You really see that now. There is a plethora of commercials on now with  interracial couples, especially white men with black women. Now, this is not trying to sell a product; if so they would aim at the largest demographic, which is not interracial couples. Interracial couples make the smallest domestic households in terms of volume. And that is doubly true of white men with black women (most interracial couples are white women with black men). There is no commercial reason to have that in their advertising, but there is a blitz on now with white men being husband and father to black women and their children. It should be obvious that there is an attempt to promote such interracial marriage and reproduction.

So, why are corporations trying to promote interracial marriage? If it was just an occasional thing on the tube it would be one thing, but this has hit the airwaves in a mass campaign, obvious to even some quite liberal people. My oldest brother, who is a staunch Labor Democrat, was recently mentioning this. Even he could see there is an agenda at work, one that is aimed at changing the American mind and culture.

I'm not picking on interracial couples, just pointing out that there are forces at work manipulating public perception with advertising. Why?

We see all sorts of gay couples in ads now too. Is it really necessary at this point? The gay community has a lot of money (since they don't have to spend on children) but they were already buying. Why advertise to a market you already own?

Something is amiss here.

And more and more we are seeing "public service" commercials promoting everything from the Covid vaccine to acceptance of transgenderism.

Sometimes it's obvious who is doing it and why, but it's strange you never see anyone in opposition to the Progressive ideology appear. There are no commercials run by the NRA, or by Project Vertias. We don't have commercials showing how guns saved people's lives. We don't have commercials promoting sexual abstinence, or marriage and the family. Yet this has every bit as much and likely more commercial value as does gay or interracial marriage. Christians buy things too. And so do MAGA Americans. And so do the decent people all across the land. Yet ours is a demographic completely ignored by Madison Avenue and shut out by the mainstream networks.

Why is that?

It seems to me there very much IS a cabal of corporations and power brokers who control what America sees and hears and who attempt to turn our beliefs to their advantage. We are being gaslighted by the media.

And have been for a long, long time. Many of those old commercials were about more than just the product they were promoting. So were the cartoons. How many of them promoted hippie counter-culture back then? How many promoted traditional American values?

I saw so very many of the old shows and remembered that none of them were traditional but almost all advocated the beliefs of the hippies and the New Left.

And outside of a very few cartoons made by churches and religious folks for sunday distribution (Davey and Goliath comes to mind) almost none of them had any use for our Judeo-Christian roots.

Most promoted the counter-culture. Josey and the Pussy Cats, for example, was sexualized and pushed the rock music scene. There were multiple others. Many I liked, some I did not, but watching them now I see they were intended to teach a counter-cultural lesson.

At the time most Americans were Christian or Jewish. How does insulting the dominant culture, imposing new ethical and moral and religious standards, sell a product?

And now they are still pushing the envelope on our culture while selling products. Yes, America is less Christian or Jewish than it once was, but a majority of Americans still see themselves as Christians - by a whopping 63%!

So, why would an advertiser risk alienating the majority of shoppers?

It's clear there has been an ongoing effort to change America into something alien and I would say evil.

And since all ships sail in the same direction, one must ask who is coordinating all of this. It's clear the true masters of our society are not we the People or even our political class, who is swept along with this.

So for all of you who toss around the "conspiracy nuts" pejorative when conservatives speak about "commie collusion" I would ask you to kindly explain how insulting the beliefs of an overwhelming majority of Americans has any commercial value, and explain why they do it and who told them it was a good idea.

Watching those old shows and those old cartoons was very, very instructive.

Family Ties

Timothy Birdnow

Here is an interesting essay about the return of traditional women and how it is threatening the internationalists and corporate power brokers. I'm not sure I agree but I do think it is thoughtful even if the writing is a bit edgy.

BTW it discusses a BUTT, namely Kim Kardassian's. I recently was in a discussion on Facebook and that matter came up. We were discussing the possibility of aliens existing, and the vast distances between stars. Someone suggested the aliens used wormhole technology with one endpoint being Kim's enormous posterior. I can't say there is any solid evidence to support that postulate, but I can't say there is any evidence rebutting it either.

At any rate the author of this essay believes women are rebelling against the feminist/corporatist/consumer culture and while I have some doubts I do hope this is correct.

Women have been sold a bill of goods with feminism. They were told men were having such a great time and they were getting the short end of the stick, but that ignored the evidence of history where men worked in mines or did other backbreaking labor. The world of the corporate boardroom was reserved for a select lucky few and most men could hope for at best a middle management job with a cubicle, high blood pressure, stomache ulcers, and an early grave. Men have always died younger than women, and there is a reason for that. Now women are getting these same maladies and they are losing the comforts they had in family and femininity.

It's so bad men are trying to become women to escape from the viccissitudes of being a man in a male-hating society of amazons on pms. How much of the transgender movement is driven by the hatred of men by our modern society? Young boys learn early that the only way they can please their rabid feminist mothers is to be a girl, so they decide they are one. Everyone seems happy with the choice so they internalize it and they wind up getting their schnickles clipped off.

It's a mental disorder directly linked to feminism and the emasculation of men - and the defeminization of women.

And in the great feminist revolution how many children, both male and female, must be sacrificed to the god Moloch? That is what happens when women want to "have it all" and neglect the children they brought into the world to satisfy their selfish desires.

So if they are not aborted, the kids are raised by nannies and by institutions which turn them into widgets in a giant factory of leftist mental disorder.

I do think some women have had it with the empty promises of Satan feminism and the Left, but I fear nowhere nearly enough.

But in the end what does anybody really have? Their own minds, and their family. All else is immaterial. Houses, cars, jobs, entertainment, all of these things are extraneous and will fly from you. Money has always been a poor god, fleeing when it is needed most. In the end all you can count on is family and God. And family disappears these days like the morning dew as the closeness that characterized it has been systematically  washed away by the rising tide of feminism and the other liberal maladies that infest our culture.

I hope the author is right, but I'm not so sure.

At Fatima the Virgin Mary warned that the final test of Mankind would be an all out assault on the family. I think she was right. And if so the test is only just beginning. The Fatima apparitions go back to 1917.

Even if you don't believe in Marian apparitions it's fairly clear the prophecy is coming to fruition one way or another.

The left worked tirelessly to destroy the family and marriage and have gone a long way to doing so. And so many marriages out there are loveless, more a battle of the sexes than a loving union of coequals sharing a full life and carrying each-others burdens.

I fear with the rise of computer technology it will only get worse. People are becoming atomized, self-contained and selrf-ruled. Look at the time young people spend online, on their smart phones, etc. They no longer have any human interaction. How can they marry? Raise children? They have never had a real relationship.

And it's only going to get worse.

The family is the cornerstone of all civilization. Mess with that at your peril.

Fission, Fusion, Fussin' and a Fightin

Richard Cronin

Cold fusion was met with great fanfare then died away as any claimed observations could not be replicated. This is how science should proceed.

Alberto Carpinteri introduced the concepts of piezonuclear fission. That is, elements lighter than the Actinides can fission at extreme pressures, such as exist in earthquakes or inside our planet. Certainly, fission can be achieved at far lesser energies than fusion.

Nuclear fission has already been observed in Breeder reactors wherein Mercury and other elements lighter than the Actinides can be transmuted to unstable, neutron heavy isotopes and, before decaying, the high neutron flux in the confined conditions of a breeder can induce fission.

Unfortunately Piezonuclear fission has been met with skepticism and outright hostility to the point that Italy’s Profumo government in 2012 banned all funding into any further research based upon correspondence from 1000 skeptical scientists. Carpenteri has continued his work, albeit with far less funding.

It strikes me that man-made climate change has drawn criticism from far greater numbers of scientific skeptics who are uniformly ignored.

I guess funding for Carpenteri’s work threatened somebody else’s rice bowl.

https://staff.polito.it/alberto.carpinteri/piezonuclear%20reactions%20conference/4maggio2012.pdf

https://www.science.org/content/article/italian-government-slams-brakes-piezonuclear-fission

Fission tracks are carved in metamorphic rock formed by the energetic daughter elements of nuclear fission cutting grooves in metamorphic rock.

Such forms of rock as well as the great pressures of earthquakes are great sites for claims of piezonuclear fission.

There is a natural bias in the Universe for left-handedness but it is often obscured. Most people are right handed but the important feature is the coupling of the left hemisphere of your brain controlling your right side.

This emphasis on left handedness is most pronounced in left hand chirality of complex biochemicals. For example, the genes of your DNA are left hand chiral but the protective outer sheath of polysaccharides is right hand chiral. Thus the genes are hidden and protected plus the DNA molecule can "unzip” for replication.

Fission tracks are laid down with a left hand curve, along the lines where the daughter elements are scattered.

Ewald Hejl has put forward the hypothesis that the earliest complex biochemicals form along fission tracks. These tracks were obviously warmed by residual radioactive decay.

Thus it is this bias for left handedness marks the trajectories of fission products thru biochemicals and life, right out to the counterclockwise rotation of planets and stars (left handed).

Government Jobs

Richard Cronin

Just like everything the government touches — Make Work.

In macroeconomics the saying is that bad money chases out good money. Well, we have the case of made-up jobs chasing out real jobs.

Clean energy now provides more employment than the "real fuel” industry.

Tim adds:

It's what happens when government subsidizes an industry. It grows, but it's all phoney balony. The real employer here is the government, not the so called "Green Energy Industry".

What's In Your Wallet?

Timothy Birdnow

So Mastercard and Visa are now going to start tracking customers firearms purchases and ammunition purchases by assigning a special code to the arms industry.

And you know damned good and well what they are going to do with this data.

It is illegal to keep a federal firearms registration list (the 1986 Firearms Owner Protection Act), but if the industry does it for the government...

FOPA states:

No such rule or regulation prescribed [by the Attorney General] after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any State or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or disposition be established. Nothing in this section expands or restricts the Secretary's authority to inquire into the disposition of any firearm in the course of a criminal investigation.

In the current Fascist system there is always a way around any law the government finds inconvenient. Just make business do it for you and then you are off the hook.

So the credit card companies are going to do the dirty work that bureaucrats Just Won't Do and keep a registry for government use despite the law preventing such a registry. Cute trick.

What I propose is that we start a firearms financing business whereby a gun purchaser can pay a third party who then pays the arms dealer. Make the credit card payable  to the the Smelly Old Shoe Company, or the United Church of Fragrant Cheeses or some such. In fact, such a business could be used to hide many such purchases. I don't think it would be illegal. It would just be a legal way to keep your privacy in tact. Pornographers have done things like this for years, I am given to understand.

The IRS won't like it at all but they would have a hard time justifying any action taken. Whoever ran such an enterprise would have to make sure they dotted every i and crossed every t to comply with the tax code.

One thing is certain; this is a dangerous trend and it won't stop with firearms. Soon everything you buy will be recorded and known by the government and by advertisers and by anyone who cares to learn a little something about you.

Bad Science

Timothy Birdnow

Certainly a lot of climate SCIENCE is fraudulent. Michael Mann and the like. And there were a number of famous frauds over the years, many to show that the journals will publish anything that sounds good.

Data sets can be fudged, or misleading. In fact, 2% of scientists have admitted to fudging data. https://phys.org/news/2009-05-scientists-fabricate-falsify.html It is much harder to fake than, say, paleontology, which has a sordid history of fake fossils and the like. It's also harder to fake then climatololgy, where you have limited data and rely heavily on proxies - essentially fossils. Michael Mann is a classic example of research data fudging to get the results he wanted. Here is a NY Times article about data fudging and hoaxes at Bell Labs. https://www.nytimes.com/2002/09/26/us/panel-says-bell-labs-scientist-faked-discoveries-in-physics.html

It's much harder to hoax or cheat in the hard sciences but it does happen on occasion. There was the Sokal hoax, where physicist Alan Sokal wrote a bogus paper entitled Transgressing the boundaries: towards a transformative hermeneutics of quantum gravity https://physics.nyu.edu/faculty/sokal/ It was done to test to see if science journals would publish crap. They did. And then there was the Bogdanov Affair, https://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/bogdanov.html

Yes, these were outed as fakes but not before being published and taken seriously by some. They were intended as fakes. But this illustrates that bad science can get through to mainstream science journals.

This is easily rebutted, but not so in some fields where dealing with data that is hard to quantify or that is incomplete. I remember a number of years ago claims of a superluminal neutrino which probably was a timing error in the data (that's what physicist Lubos Motls said at the very beginning.) But there is still argument and some people still claim they found faster-than-light neutrinos.

The Great Reset Initiative is an economic recovery plan drawn up by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project was launched in June 2020, with a video featuring the then Prince of Wales Charles III released to mark its launch. The initiative's stated aim is to facilitate rebuilding from the global COVID-19 crisis in a way which prioritises sustainable development.

WEF chief executive officer Klaus Schwab described three core components of the Great Reset: creating conditions for a "stakeholder economy"; building in a more "resilient, equitable, and sustainable" way, utilising environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics; and "harness[ing] the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

I've Got this Feeling Somebody's Watching Me

Timothy Birdnow

Your vacuum cleaner is watching you!

Research shows robot vacuum cleaners can be used to spy on people.

Also, the cleaners manufacturers plan to share maps made by the machines with big tech companies and likely the government. Crazy as it sounds but your vacuum cleaner IS spying on you!

In George Orwell's 1984 the government had compulsory television cameras watching you at all times. But they had to force this. All they had to do was find some enticement, some beneficial reason for people to put cameras into their homes and they would do it.

Most modern televisions have hidden cameras that can be used by government to spy on you too.

Time was a person who feared his appliances were spying on him was hauled off to the haha hotel. Now we all just shrug at his grasp of the obvious.

What kind of a world are we building?

A Global Test

Selwyn Duke

So now our culture and workforces have to align with WORLD demographics? Muslims are one percent of the characters on US television — and Muslims are one percent of the US population. Last I heard, that was proportional.

But leave it to the Counterfeit News Network (CNN) to run something such as this on 9/11.

Tim adds:

If we must have proportionality equal to the world's there would be nothing but Chinese and Indians on television. This is stupid beyond words. If we are going to have a global proportionality test, why not on other things? Why not require I.D. for voting? Almost everyone else does. Why don't we have a restriction on first term abortion? Everyone else does. Why don't we enforce our border? Most other nations do. ,

Don't Count the Russians Out

Dennis O'Brien

A day has passed and some of the fog of war has lifted in Ukraine. It appears that the Russians started withdrawing from Kharkov region about a week before the Ukrainians launched their successful offensive. They have now fully withdrawn and have thus now a considerably shorter front to defend and to attack from.

The Russians are still making gains in the Donetsk region and the Ukrainians have lost the counter-offensive on the Kherson front. The Ukrainians have suffered enormous casualties but that doesn't seem to worry them. Estimates of the numbers of Ukrainian troops under arms are as many as 1 million with 100,000 trained to NATO standard over the last 8 years.

The Russians still show no sign of mobilizing and seem to think they can achieve their stated objectives despite having only 200,000 men on the ground. They of course have massive air and artillery/rocket superiority but reserves of ammunition must be a factor over time.

It appears that the Ukrainians are preparing for a major counter-offensive in the south and no doubt the Russians will move troops to that area now that they don't have to worry about Kharkov.
