Even Britain Understands Biden is Wrecking the Economy

Timothy Birdnow

Even the British understand the insane "Inflation Reduction Act" is going to crash America's economy.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/08/08/joe-biden-crash-world-economy/?fbclid=IwAR1vgBNiVjEKVy4Y4Am5E3U_SSTPl5fxGOK7HDMFoOv6D_f7zW2RD7rcMh0

Instead, inflation wassparked by Biden and the Fed: the President’s wild spending, doling out $2,000 cheques to everyone, and the Fed’s willingness to finance it with freshly printed money. If the government pours another $739bn of stimulus into an economy already at full employment and with inflation running rampant, the Fed won’t have any choice but to raise interest rates more aggressively – or else let prices run completely out of control.

The second problem is Biden’s new plan imposes a huge new round of taxes on business. The new "minimum tax” is actually a disguised increase, since it will be imposed on companies regardless of standard deductions for investment, R&D or any other mainstream expenses or reliefs.

On top of that, Biden’s plan imposes a new 1pc levy on share buybacks, a measure the American Left has for years campaigned for. You can argue for or against it – in fact, with high corporate taxes, buybacks are an efficient way of returning money to shareholders – but there is no question it will take more money off companies and cause huge damage to Wall Street, which relies on companies to put cash back into the market.

Add it all up, and the new Inflation Reduction Act imposes a huge increase in corporate taxes. The result? Investment will be damaged, the supply side of the economy will shrink, and that will make inflation even worse.

Finally, despite claiming to reduce the deficit, the plan will send debt soaring upwards. As Rishi Sunak would have discovered if he had remained as chancellor, increasing corporate taxes sounds easy but the money generally does not materialise. Companies work around them or go elsewhere.

Biden will unleash the spending, but the planned revenues will never turn up, and the deficit will rise and rise. The US debt-to-GDP ratio has already hit an alarming 137pc of GDP, and may start to get towards Italian levels (currently 148pc of GDP). With the world’s reserve currency, the US can probably get away with that. But there is no point in pretending it will control inflation – that is not what debt does.

Lying Fact Checks

Kim Rogalin

A study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences confirms what we already know about the Trump years: Legacy media took a hard turn to the Left. Meanwhile, they all wondered why trust in media was declining so sharply.

The study focused on "measuring the media bias in cable TV news coverage over the last decade” and did so by determining the screen time of right-wing and left-wing pundits, activists, and politicians that appear on the networks. This way, the researchers were able to see how much the audiences of Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN were being exposed to liberal or conservative viewpoints.

The study found that CNN was less left-wing biased than MSNBs: "consistently to the right of MSNBC” between 2011 and 2015, but that was no longer the case from 2015 onward. Around 2018, the 3 shows comprising each network's afternoon programming had similar partisan scores, and all three networks followed roughly the same trends, skewing more conservative between 2015 and 2018, when Republicans were winning elections, and more liberal since 2018, when democrats won the House of Representatives . Compound that with the left-wing antics of hosts on CNN, and it’s clear how sharp of a turn liberal media outlets took over the last few years. The study found that both CNN and MSNBC skewed further Left in 2021 than they had at any point in the last decade, while Fox News (except for its prime-time shows) has returned to its pre-Trump levels.

This study provides yet another metric to show how partisan cable news is. While everyone understands that Fox News is a conservative network, and most people generally know that MSNBs skews Left, CNNbs spent years pretending to be nonpartisan. Its corruption in the time since has helped drag down trust in media. A majority of Americans have little or no confidence in television news. liberal reporters apparently are OK with liberal bias/ lies, but nobody else is. Outlets such as CNNbs have embraced their role as liberal platforms, and conservatives should no longer humor their faux-neutrality. The media landscape has changed for good, because it's harder to rebuild your reputation than it is to burn it down.

Himalayan High

Andrei Piriutko

https://www.powerengineeringint.com/solar/solar-proves-its-worth-in-afghanistans-opium-farmlands/

The total opium-poppy cultivation area in Afghanistan was estimated at 293,000 hectares in 2021, with Helmand being the leading cultivating province.
However, the entire region has been heavily affected by drought and poor water management in recent years. As a consequence, the poppy harvest and opium income declined drastically.
The traditional Kareze irrigation system used by local farmers no longer supplied the needs of Afghanistan’s growing agricultural sector. The system is an ancient one that uses tunnels and wells to transfer water over great distances to farmland.
The solution, however, was found in solar panels connected to a pump that pulls up groundwater for use when the irrigation canals dry up. Farmers drill down 100m (325ft) to reach groundwater, put in an electric pump and connect it to solar panels causing water to flow.
Before solar, farmers had to run the pump with a diesel generator. However, very expensive fuel was limiting the amount of water they could pump. Now, a farmer can fill a large reservoir using two arrays of 18 solar panels powering two electric pumps.
An upfront payment of $5,000 – $7,000 will procure an array of solar panels and an electric pump. Once installed, the system pays for itself due to almost zero running costs.

Tim adds:

Oh great; solar opium! Yeah; that's just what the world needs! Jihad and Heroin!

Federal Bureau of Instigation

Willis Eschenbach

Some of us are old enough to remember that in 1992 a Federal agent asked Randy Weaver to illegally saw off a shotgun.

But Randy didn’t saw off enough to make it illegal

So the fed gave him the shotgun back and asked him to saw off more and he did.

Then the FBI then came to his house and shot and killed his wife and son.

Now we're seeing the same pattern in the 21st century. The FBI is now the Federal Bureau of Instigation. They get people to commit crimes, then arrest them.

But that's not the worst part. At the direction of Hillary and the Democrat Party they now are actively involved in trying to overthrow our country. They tried a coup using lies bought and paid for by Hillary and her scumball friends. Then they declared that parents who were concerned about teachers 6rooming their kids are "domestic terrorists".

Me, I say defund the FBI entirely and start over. They are rotten from the top to the bottom.

Don't believe me? Read Randy Weaver's testimony below. He had to bear the brunt of the FBI's criminal vileness. And it is WORSE today, more widespread, more hidden.

Tim adds:

Remember the sixties song by Thunderclap Newman "In the Air"?

"Call out the Instigator Because there’s something in the air We got to get together sooner or later Because the revolution’s here You know it’s right"

The FBI should make that song their anthem.

Ukraine's "Collaboration" Law Prevents Humanitarian Aid

So the Ukrainian government is the good guy? Then why are they rejecting humanitarian aid from the Russians and making their people suffer?

And why is the media not reporting this?

It's their way of trying to get the West into the war. Make as many Ukrainians suffer as possible and the West will eventually jump in.

Those Above the Law

Kim Rogalin

Here is everyone who liberals/democrats have deemed, so far, "above the law” and therefore will not be properly investigation nor prosecuted.

1. Joe Biden. A president avoiding paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes seems like the kind of thing federal agencies, including the recently financially invigorated Internal Revenue Service, should explore. Yet Biden, who hasn’t explained millions of dollars of his recorded income, and First Lady Jill Biden together reportedly dodged about $517,000 in Medicare and BObamacare taxes between 2017 and 2020 without scrutiny.

'Believe The Science' Mantra Has Enriched Corporations And Individuals At A Massive Financial And Safety Cost To Society - Our Mantra should be 'Question The Science

James Doogue

The highly influential and highly cited study at the centre of the controversy is published here: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16541076/

This paper, first published in 2006, has been used to guide billions of dollars in US federal research into Alzheimer's

The authors claimed mouse models of Alzheimer’s showed memory impairment was associated with the accumulation of amyloid-oligomers. Professor Schrag found compelling evidence the images presented in the 2006 paper had been modified to suit the desired result.

The study proposed that a specific amyloid protein may be responsible for cognitive decline. The hypothesis has since dominated the field, and researchers have worked for years spending billions of dollars, to understand the mechanism by which such proteins may lead to decline.

The investigation by Science revealed that many of the images used by the researchers to show how the particular plaque, designated Aβ*56, accumulates in the brain, were manipulated.

The report also cited other prominent researchers who have been unable to replicate results of the studies on the specific proteins. Replication is a fundamental pathway to confirmation of research results. But the only researchers able to replicate the results are those scientists who were associated with the original 2006 paper.

Professor Schrag wrote that an ongoing Alzheimer’s trial investigating the experimental drug simufilam was based on manipulated images published by scientists years earlier.

This means volunteer patients in drug trials, including the simufilam studies, may be facing unnecessary health risks associated with experimental treatment – likely with no hope of clinical benefit.

Moreover, years of this particular drug development, costing tens of millions of dollars will have been wasted.

The fundamental premise of what causes brain cell death in Alzheimer’s and by extension, what type of drugs are needed to be developed for treatment, needs urgent reconsideration.

As stated, much contemporary Alzheimer’s clinical trials are based on the now flawed hypothesis: that brain cell death is triggered by the early formation in the fluid that bathes the brain, of small clumps of protein called amyloid-oligomers.

So far only one drug has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat the protein plaques associated with Alzheimer’s: Aducanumab.

That drug, sold under the brand name Aduhelm and developed by Biogen, was the subject of controversy last year. As it was being considered for approval in 2021, multiple FDA officials said there was not enough evidence of its benefit to support approval.

Nevertheless, the agency approved the drug, which Biogen priced at $56,000 per year for patient treatment. That prompted the resignation of three FDA officials, one of whom publicly stated there was "no good evidence the drug works”.
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/06/10/health/aduhelm-fda-resign-alzheimers.html

This is the same FDA which approved the Covid-19 'vaccines' claiming over 90% effectiveness. They convinced bureaucrats and politicians that the Covid-19 'vaccines' provided significant protection from both infection, and against being infectious.

Big Pharma supported by the phalanx of researchers and health professionals and lobbyists on their payroll, many of whom are now newly minted billionaires or millionaire's, had managed to convince bureaucrats and politicians that the Covid-19 'vaccines' were so effective in stopping community transmission, that they should be mandated.

Consequently millions of people around the world's were deprived of their means of income, their careers and the ability to participate in society, if they chose not to get vaccinated.

These vaccine mandates still exist despite clear evidence the 'vaccines' are not fit for purpose, and despite even quadruple dosed individuals still becoming infected and infectious and still dying!

That's the power of Big Pharma, and they don't mind using dodgy data and research to get what they want.

Once it becomes clear to all other researchers and practitioners in the area that questioning the accepted orthodoxy can be career ending and reputation destroying, they soon fall in line.

We are told to 'believe the science' and that mantra is blindly repeated by the mainstream media, politicians, bureaucrats, celebrities and others wanting to seem clever. But that phrase becomes a cover for bad science in many critical areas.

Medicine, health, climate science, public policy, energy production and the environment, have all been corrupted by the mantra 'believe the science'. Anyone who questions 'the science' is censored on social media by Big Tech, and is persecuted by mainstream media and even prosecuted by police. We have become Orwell's dystopia!

A good researcher, a good politician, a good journalist, a good citizen should instead follow the opposite mantra, 'question the science'. That is what science is all about. Since at least the 17th century, rigorous skepticism has been a fundamental part of the scientific method.

Scientific skepticism protects society from unscrupulous individuals, corporations, organisations, bureaucrats and politicians who want to gain power and/or wealth by using questionable 'science' to support their products, ideas or policies.

We need to ditch the stupid and dangerous mantra 'believe the science'!
