Here is the story of the genesis of slavery in the U.S. and the first slave - John Casor.
It's a story rarely told because it does not comport with the myth. The first slave owner was a black man, showing that Africans had slaves themselves and did not think it at all unusual. This flies in the face of the current belief that only White Men held slaves.
Also, this story admits that slavery was common in the European colonies and not somehow born in the English colonies - a claim often made by the BLM types who try to make it appear we created it from whole cloth in Virginia and the Carolinas. We did not; the Spanish and Portuguese and Dutch all practiced it before it came to our shores here. In fact slavery was far more prevalent in Brazil than in the British American colonies.

After the attack on the World Trade Center the left-wing media went bananas to prevent abuse of Islamic-Americans. There were dire predictions that right wing nazi skinhead klansmen would be crawling out of the woodwork to hurt the good, honest, upstanding Muslim citizens of these United States.
It didn't happen, or very rarely at any rate, but it was the mantra and we were told how this wasn't a war against Islam but against "international terrorism."
So where are all the civil libertarians now? Russians seem to be the new class that it is o.k. to discriminate against.
Certainly this historic Russian tea room in New York is suffering because of Mr. Putin and the American' media's hysterical response.

I did a search looking for assaults on Russian immigrants. I found no stories, which itself is odd as on any given day any number of people are assaulted and Russians would logically be in harms way as a result of this. But not one single news story.
That suggests to me this IS happening, and to a much larger extent than we would suppose.
I know it's circular reasoning to a degree, but if you understand the media you have to know this is how they roll. There were few assaults on Muslims after 911 but the media was full of stories about them anyway. And of course the attacks on Chinese immigrants was given major coverage - even though most of the assailants were African American. The race of the assailants was rarely given in the news stories so as to suggest white racists were out and about and to justify draconian laws to circumvent free speech rights.
The silence on this tells me we are probably seeing Russians being assaulted. And no doubt their businesses are being at minimum boycotted.
While we are on the matter, I would like to submit this for your consideration; Russia has been filtering thousands of her own citizens into the U.S. through the porous southern border during Mr. Biden's first year. Border Patrol agents arrested 4100 Russians coming into the U.S. illegally. How many more got through? And why were RUSSIANS entering the U.S.?

So Russian tea rooms and ordinary citizens are being harassed while possible Russian special forces are roaming around free in America.

Seven people have been confirmed as having Japanese encephalitis, with more expected. Across SA, Vic, QLD and NSW so far JE has been detected in 14 pigeries.
The incubation period for the disease is typically 5-15 days. So there could be lots more cases.
The disease is spread by infected mosquitoes which pick up the disease from infected animals.
Only about 1% of those exposed to infected mosquitoes develop symptoms which relate mainly to the swelling of the brain.
Initial symptoms often include fever, headache, and vomiting. Mental status changes, neurologic symptoms, weakness, and movement disorders might develop over the next few days. Seizures are common, especially among children.
Among patients who develop encephalitis, 20% – 30% die.
There is no specific treatment which has been found to benefit patients with JE, but hospitalization for supportive care and close observation is generally required for all those who develop symptoms.
Although some symptoms improve after the acute illness, 30%-50% of survivors continue to have neurologic, cognitive, or psychiatric symptoms.
Obviously medically vulnerable people, such as the elderly and those with comorbidities are more susceptible.
So we have a disease which for most people exposed, like Covid-19, is not serious, in terms of developing symptoms.
But unlike Covid-19, the bulk of those who become symptomatic need to be hospitalized. Also unlike Covid-19 around 40% of symptomatic JE sufferers end up in ICU, and 30% to 50% die. Compared to under 2% globally for Covid-19.And 30% - 50% of all survivors have serious long term problems. This is a very scary disease.
Given our experience with Covid-19, the best health advice, and our premiers wanting to keep us all safe, because any death is a tragedy, I expect the following actions:
1. The racist, divisive name, Japanese Encephalitis will be changed to something we can all identify with and rally around. Maybe 'Flavi-Encepha-1'? It is spread through the movement of migratory birds and through the movement of infected mosquitoes, often over long distances due to wind dispersal.'
2. Every state will declare a state of emergency so all the measures they put in place to keep us safe, don't have to be approved by parliament and can be a direct breech of human rights and personal freedoms.
3A. If the National Cabinet still exists (have we heard from it recently?), it will pivot attention to JE and work out ways of spending billions of dollars.
3B. They will also declare a complete three week lockdown commencing from midnight. This is to identify areas where the disease is present, and to allow our health services to prepare for a potential explosion in the need for hospital beds.
3C. Japanese Encephalitis spread is mainly through the movement of migratory birds and through the movement of infected mosquitoes, often over long distances due to wind dispersal. Most susceptible livestock are pigs and horses, and of course humans. So the National Cabinet will close all migration of birds until further notice. After the 3 week lockdown all states except WA, NT and Tasmania will take a certain quota of migrating birds which must be isolated for 15 days.
4. The ACT, Tasmania, NT and WA will close its borders to other states. Any people with travel exemptions into those closed border states will require to stay in government nominated isolation for 15 days with two negative tests on days 10 and 15 before they can leave. The isolation will be at the individuals cost.
5. All pigs and horses must be tested for JE. Any piggeries or stables where JE is detected will be burnt down with the pigs and horses in them. Until further notice all pigs and horses must be tested every 10 days with the date of their most recent negative test included in microchips which can be readily scanned by health authorities. It is hoped to introduce a similar system for people in the near future.
6. Until further notice nobody is allowed to leave their home unless they are exempt employees, or for one hour a day for shopping and exercise.
7. Mosquito body suits (see picture below) must be worn by everyone outside home and indoors if the building is not fitted with mosquito proof screens on all windows and doors. This will apply even after the 3 week lockdown period.
These suits are currently being distributed to government essential workers. Everyone else must supply their own. You can make your own, and patterns are provided at the Dept of Health website.
8. The government is setting up testing sites around each state. You must get tested if you have been bitten by a mosquito or if you think you were bitten by a mosquito, or if you have been in contact with someone who has been bitten by a mosquito.
Also get tested straight away if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Headache
- Fever
- Nausea
- Feeling Weak
We are all in this together. We can crush Japanese Encephalitis or whatever it's going to be called once they get rid of the divisive, racist name.

Red Handed: Bill Gates Developed Nuclear Reactors that Helped China Overtake U.S. Military
In 2011 — after a decade of alternately predicting China would never be able to police the Internet and helping Communist officials do exactly that — a company called TerraPower that was cofounded by Gates began working with the Chinese National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) on a "next-generation†reactor.
The project was ostensibly civilian in nature, although Schweizer notes CNNC also works for the Chinese military — and the molten salt reactors TerraPower developed just happen to be "incredibly effective at propelling ships at sea, including military vessels.â€
Red-Handed notes the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was already working on techniques for installing this type of reactor on its aircraft carriers when Gates’ TerraPower teamed up with CNNC.
I am mindful of the words of Joseph Stalin "the capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them." In the case of China it's more the Fascist corporatists. But in the end we made it attractive to do business with China and have made them into a dangerous rival.

In recent years ideological censorship by Facebook has proliferated unchecked. Initially Facebook gave a specific reason when deleting a post, or when a person had their posting rights suspended. And there was an appeal process available to users, which FB at least they pretended to follow.
I think the first time I had a post deleted was in 2015. I had written about ISIS beheadings and included a picture of the gloating jihadists with the forms of about a dozen executed bodies on the ground, without graphic detail.
Facebook deleted the post stating the content was too graphic. They apparently found the image of dead bodies too graphic even though no cuts or blood was shown in the picture.

Showing the bodies of innocent victims killed by Islamic extremists was too traumatising for Facebook users.
Showing the body of a three year old boy caught up in the 'refugee crisis' was fine.
I guess it just depends what stories Facebook wants to promote or censor.
At first the FB appeal process was perfunctory, with almost all appeals denied. But soon any pretense of an appeals process evaporated. Now you just get to tick a box to state whether you accept or disagree with their decision.
There's no promise of a review at all. Facebook just direct you to their 16 page statement about their community standards.
Since that first post which was deleted, I have had dozens of posts deleted, and a number of periods of suspension and account restrictions. None of the material has been illegal or inaccurate. I often provided numerous citations and references covering topics including:
- Corruption of Democrat politicians in the US (and members of their families)
- Climate change
- Islamic fundamentalism
- Illegal immigration
- Systemic grooming and rape of young girls in England ignored for years by police and social workers.
- Research on the treatment and prevention of Covid-19
- Covid-19 policies
Not surprisingly, only when my posts have gone against the Left's ideological position, or in th case of Covid-19, what you might call the 'establishment's' position, have they been deleted, and/or used to justify Facebook restrictions.
Yesterday I was amused at the irony, when Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Facebook’s parent Meta complained, "Soon millions of ordinary Russians will find themselves cut off from reliable information… and silenced from speaking,â€

The news came as Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law a bill introducing jail terms of up to 15 years for publishing "fake news†about the Russian army.
Amendments were also passed to fine or jail people calling for sanctions against Russia.
Roskomnadzar based its decision on claims that Facebook was discriminating against Russian media and information resources such as RT, RIA Novosti, and Sputnik.
Facebook and Twitter have circulated videos of the Kremlin's war on Ukraine that contradict the official narrative of a successful "special operation." The videos include captured and killed Russian soldiers and destroyed Ukrainian cities.
So Russia have acted like Facebook. They don't like posts in Facebook or Twitter going against their official narrative. Russia are saying Facebook and Twitter are breaching their community standards and if they don't censor material they don't approve of, their rights will be suspended indefinitely.

Of course depending on the timing, misinformation for the Biden Administration on Covid-19 might include that the virus originated in a laboratory in Wuhan, or that face masks should be warn by the public, or that face masks aren't necessary, or that if you are vaccinated you won't need to wear a face mask, or that you will need to have a third Covid-19 vaccination…..you get the idea. What can be deemed misinformation one day, is accepted fact the next. But the Whitehouse wanted social media to enforce the Biden Administration's 'truth' whatever that might be at a particular point in time.
So it was equally hilarious to read what Jen Psaki said the other day about Russia's censoring of social media.
"This is part of their effort...to cut off a range of information from their public,"
"We are deeply concerned about this and concerned about the threat on freedom of speech in the country."

A study in International Journal of Climatology finds no evidence for a long-term drought trend across Europe amid modest global warming. The research was a collaborative effort undertaken by scientists at universities and research institutes in Spain (lead author), Egypt, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Oman, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
Results reveal a general absence of statistically significant long-term trends in the study domain, with the exception of significant trends at some stations, generally covering short periods. The study found droughts in Western Europe have been spatially diverse, with variability in the number and intensity of drought being the dominant pattern, instead of a homogeneous increase or decrease across the region or in any particular area over time
Roger Pielke Jr., Ph.D., of the University of Colorado, examined multiple lines of government data to respond to claims climate change has been causing more severe droughts in recent years. Data from the U.S. Drought Monitor and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency show drought has declined across the United States since the 1890s and has continued to do so since 2000.
With a large swath of western United States currently experiencing a severe drought, Pielke also examined drought in the Colorado River Basin (CRB) since 2000. Drought there has increased modestly, but in the context of 1900 to 2020, the number and severity of droughts in the CRB have not increased. Pielke notes a paper from Earth Interactions in June 2020 shows CRB droughts have become neither more severe nor drier since 300 AD. The same paper reported: "The driest drought occurred during 1901-04, … [and] the longest drought period occurred during 1943-56.†A paper published in March in the Journal of Climate finds, as the title states, "U.S. Pacific Coastal Droughts Are Predominantly Driven by Internal Atmospheric Variability."
Looking beyond a parochial focus on drought conditions in the United States, the folks at No Tricks Zone have collected and summarized the research of no less than six papers published in the last year (five since March 2021 and one published in July 2020) in a variety of peer-reviewed journals from different teams of international researchers indicating droughts in Africa, China, Greece, India, and for grasslands globally are no more frequent or severe at present than they have been historically.
For example, research shows drought conditions were far worse in the 1700s and first half of the 20th century than they are at present in northern China. In the eastern Mediterranean, droughts were more severe and longer in length, extending multiple decades in the 900s and 1300s, than they have been in recent centuries. The same data show from 1986 to 2015 the eastern Mediterranean experienced above-average precipitation in June and July. Another paper shows India experienced droughts of four years in length or greater four times in the 1700s and 1800s, but only once in the twentieth century, between 1958 and 1962.
These studies demonstrate that wherever you look across the globe, recent periods of drought have not been unusually frequent, extended, or severe when compared with historical examples. Another commonality found in these papers, at least those that sought to explain the cause of droughts as opposed to simply recording drought occurrences, is they attribute droughts to natural factors, primarily shifts in large-scale, multidecadal ocean circulation patterns.
One of the most persistent and persistently disproven but still oft-repeated claims made by global warming alarmists is human-caused climate change is causing or will cause an increase in the number, length, and severity of droughts. Since 1988 the United States has had some of its wettest years on record. In fact, despite carbon dioxide concentrations topping 415 parts per million, 65 parts per million higher since 1988, for the first time in recorded U.S. history, no part of the continental United States is in either severe or extreme drought, and less than 10% of the United States faces modest drought (meaning between 2 and 2.0 inches below normal rainfall for the year). The first time in the record that more than 90% of the US has experienced conditions of NO drought, and since 2000, the linear trend in the data indicates that the overall proportion of the US experiencing no drought conditions increased from about 50% to about 60%, and according to the Drought Monitor, more than 283 million people currently live in regions experiencing no drought.
This is the most people in the history of the U.S. to experience no drought conditions at once. Geological records indicate at times in the past parts of the United States have experienced droughts lasting decades and even hundreds of years. With drought nearly nonexistent for the first time in recorded history and the trend indicating less, not more drought, may we put the final nail in the coffin of the myth of human-induced droughts?
Yet Climate change scare mongers still claim there is more frequent drought. As of April 9, 2019, the National Drought Mitigation Center reported that the amount of drought in the continental U.S. had dropped to a 21st century low They claim increased risks of injury and death from extreme weather events. However, U.S. deaths from extreme weather have declined 98% since the 1920s and continue to decline. They claim an increased human health risks from air pollution. yet the five primary pollutants measured by the EPA have declined between 25% to 88% since 1990 and continue to improve. Finally, the projections of warming that will occur in the future are based on climate models that over-predict warming by 2.5 to 3 times too much.

1) Multiple, multiple exothermic (heat producing) chemical reactions in the Mantle produce everything from SO2 and CO2, plus immeasurable quantities of methane and oil (abiotic hydrocarbons).
2) Tidal pumping of the Earth by the Sun’s gravitational pull on the Earth which opens tectonic plates and releases heat from the separation of tectonic plates in the ocean floor in the Southern Hemisphere. Consequently, we have the El Niño and La Niña. Energy attributed to Tectonic Convection does not occur. Without Upper Mantle convection, all heat generated in the Upper & Lower Mantle flows to the surface.
The consequences of these events, caused by the Earth’s precession (gyroscopic motion) opens these tectonic faults and releases additional heat into the Southern Oceans. This is why we have the broad stretches of the Southern Oceans while in the Northern Hemisphere continental land masses dominate.
3) Whether you accept the concepts of Dr. J. Marvin Herndon and the GeoReactor or others such as Dr. Viterito "Corollation of Seismic Activity and Recent Global Warmingâ€, all of the energy inputs into the Earth via radiation are irrelevant.
4) The features which I describe merely reflect that the properties of Mass (protons & neutron) — Nuclear Fission to yield the Strong Force or gravitational effects of Mass greatly exceeds anything attributed to puny photonic radiation.
5) Most important is to give political expression and a way out by politicos to escape their idiocy. Give them a way to escape, however despicable.
Mass, and the powers of Mass ( including the release of the Strong Force) makes that shining orb in the sky as irrelevant.
Forget about getting into arguments with Alarmists.
Given that public policies are directed by politicians, give these dweebs a way out. Give them an awareness that we’ve learned a bit more.

Since "The Science†has become entirely political, bring these thoughts and awarenesses to your political figures.

Given that they claim the planet is warming all of those nukes might cause a nuclear winter - or at least nuclear autumn (nuclear winter has been largely disproved.) I can imagine that appeals to them. After all, they have been trying to figure out a way to terraform the Earth with schemes like seeding clouds or pumping aerosols into the atmosphere.
At given many of them are Malthusians who think the world is overpopulated anyway...

Russia is about to cut off all their oil to the U.S. according to Pravda.
According to Business Insider the U.S. 209,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and 500,000 bpd of other petroleum products from Russia. That amounts to just 3% of U.S. oil imports. Not a lot, but it will still affect world oil prices.
And Joe Biden will not allow us to ramp up drilling. Prices will continue to rise.

I am convinced Putins main goal is to control/own Ukraine's coast line and more importantly the ports and free access to them. This is more about moving gas and oil in an economic way. 2 things I became aware of. One is Russias pipelines are old and need replacing. The 2nd is what Putin is paying to move that gas and oil thru other countries has got to run in the 10s of billions if not more. Russia although has lots of beach front property the problem is most of the time its frozen.(Putin prays for global warming you know.)Black sea here Putin comes. Route all the new pipelines to the coast load it on boats and away it goes. Cheaper and a larger return . I also believe the Russian army we are seeing commanders are purposely trying to keep Ukraine civilian casualties low.Thats why you only saw probs into the major cities everywhere except the coastal cities. Doesnt look good in the papers at all civilian casualties especially knowing your enemy will inflate them. 6000 Ukrainians were killed fighting the Russian insurgents mainly in the 2 contested states. This figure is in the time beginning after Crimea until invasion.Considering this is a full scale invasion the numbers dont add up to me. Especially considering how the media some deranged lunatic.
BTW that neo-nazi Ukrainian rant Putin gave would have garnered a standing ovation in the Democrat controlled house before the invasion. Just like the Trump-Russian collusion hoax the democrats are convined the Ukrainian Azov battalion is made up entirely of American Right wing Extremists.
The only question now is will Putin leave Ukraine at all or will it be a landlocked shell of a country.

The Ukrainians were threatening to shut down the pipeline over a dispute with Gazprom. Putin decided to set them straight. That's the genesis of this war.
There are several Russian pipleines through Ukraine now. Nordstream 1 goes through the country. Putin needed to remedy that.

There's a lot of racism in the world, and I don't see any cure for it. As long as you have people like Stacey Abrams around...
But the Left uses "racism" as an catch-all, and they've managed to make the word mean nothing anymore. As far as I'm concerned, as soon as they play the "race card" it means they've lost the argument.

Racism is the last refuge of those who lost an argument.
And it is ubiquitous and will probably always be with us. So is classism. There will always be blue collar types who sneer at the effete white collar people, or vice versa.
Humans divide into subgroups. It's just how we are. We still seek our "tribe". Nobody truly embraces all of Mankind. Mankind is an abstraction.
Dana, you may remember Isaac Asimov and the "zeroth law". (For those who do not know, Asimov wrote stories about robots who were governed by three laws, the first being "a robot may not harm a human being or through inaction allow one to be harmed".)
A couple of very high level robots (Daneel Olivaw and Giscard Revlentov) thought the laws imperfect and tried to reprogram themselves with the "zeroeth law" which said a robot may not harm MANKIND nor through inaction allow Mankind to come to har. It was good theory but in practice it didn't work so well; humanity is an abstraction. You can point at a single person, but you can't really point at humanity.
And as humans we will in the end look to our own interests and our friends interests over the collective. It's what is wrong with socialism.

Glenn Greenwald is a reasonable liberal, a rare commodity today. He argues the rush to war is a terrible thing - something I concur with, although I think we need to take steps to drive Russia out of Ukraine because of our treaty obligations to them.
That said, do read this lengthy essay by Greenwald. It is most astute.
