Not Green at All

"Green” policies are destroying the natural environment and changing local weather. This is part of a futile UN scheme claiming to improve the climate of the world.

All green energy degrades its environment.

The Offense of Merry Christmas

Willis Eschenbach

Someone posted the following meme saying that I should wish people "Happy Holidays", because there are many other religious holidays around Christmas. They said it was a matter of "respect" for their traditions, not a war on Christmas.

My reply below.

w.

===

Nope. Not true on my planet.

I don't get offended by "Happy Hannukah" or whatever the Kwanzaa folks say. I'm happy they wished me well.

And so if someone gets offended by me saying "Merry Christmas", scru'em.

Seriously. Caving to their PC demands is not called "respect". It's called "weakness".

RESPECT IS NOT GETTING OFFENDED WHEN SOMEONE WISHES YOU WELL IN ANY FORM IN ANY LANGUAGE.

Lack of respect is demanding that I change my ways because you're afraid someone somewhere will be offended. Look, I've written about a thousand full-length scientific and autobiographica l posts for the web, and one thing I can guarantee you.

Every single one of them offended some snowflake somewhere, and while I wish that wasn't true, I truly don't care about their feelz. Can't be avoided.

Yes, it is in fact a war on Christmas, and sadly, folks have fallen for it. Sorry, my friends, but on my planet that dog won't hunt.

Sincerely

w.

Tim adds:

Wonderful response Willis! And the fact is Christmas is our tradition, one celebrated by all Americans. Most Christmas songs were written by Jews, I might add, who happily got in the spirit of the holiday even if they don't believe in Jesus. And of course you don't really either, but still stand up for our culture and tradition here. "Happy holidays" is a back-handed attack on Western Civilization.

Stealing the House

Selwyn Duke

Now that the criminal syndicate known as the Democrat Party has succeeded in stealing the Senate, it's now working on stealing the House. There are five undecided seats that are Republican-held and one newly-created seat, and the GOP is +7 right now, with +5 needed for Republicans to have control. That means that the Democrats have to steal 50 percent of those six seats to retain control.

What are the odds they can do it?

The Man We Love to Hate

Timothy Birdnow

Donald Trump is the man we love to hate.

Trump isn't going to change, but do we really, truly wish him to?

Trump's craziness was strategic and it helped him immensely. He controlled the conversation. He kept the media from zeroing in on any one thing. He kept the media talking about what he wanted and not what they wanted.

Remember Kofeffe? That had the media waste days they could have devoted to attacking him.

Also, Trump understood that, despite what the public claims, they love this stuff. It's why Jerry Springer is still on television. It's why pro-wrestling is so popular. Feuds and fisticuffs are America's pasttime, as surely as gladiator contests were Romes. It's why the Democrats are so hyper-aggressive; they figured it out a long time ago.

It's unseemly perhaps, but true enough. It's exactly why Bill Clinton survived impeachment; the public was fascinated by the spectacle. They loved Clinton as a result. They loved his grit and determination. He was like a horny Indiana Jones, never giving up.

Sun Tzu, the ancient Chinese military philosopher, famously stated that confusion and misdirection are the hallmarks of a good general. Trump has clearly read his Sun Tzu. He is far away when his enemies think him close, and close when they think him far away. He appears to be chaotic and confused, but that guarantees his enemies can't figure him out.

I would conclude that Trump's success was in no small part a coefficient of the things we all claim to detest about him.

Donald Trump won more votes than anyone in history two years ago - Biden got more ballots, but we all that isn't the same thing at all. (Millions of those ballots were bogus, and the lack of coattails prove exactly that.) If Trump was so hated 75 million people wouldn't have turned out for him.

I doubt anybody else can do better. In point of fact I suspect nobody can at this point.

Love him or hate him, he's the GOP frontrunner and likely nominee. And he's not going away.

Matthew 21:28--32

Timothy Birdnow

On Facebook multiple big fights have broken out over Trump's candidacy.

I said I had been a Cruz man before supporting Trump and received this reply from Moira:

You all jumped on the bandwagon once Trump pants the entire party. Lets not pretend republicans were happy. Come on, The Donald was a life long Democrat and now was leading the Republican Party. Now we got one of authors of the patriot act leading the Democratic Party.

Tim replies:

Yes Trump WAS a Democrat, which is why I did not support him in the primaries. His actions have spoken louder than his words though. It is like the parable Jesus told of the father asking his sons to do some chore. One son enthusiastically replied yes but did nothing. The other son refused but went out and did the work. Trump is much like the latter. As Jesus asked "who works his father's will?" Trump worked our will. All those champions of the right did exactly nothing when in office, and for years now. I think we must look at results. Trump made some HUGE mistakes; terrible appointees, signing those massive spending bills, and allowing Fauci to talk all the states into shutting down. But he did more good than harm. And Reagan had many such faults as well. He signed giant spending bills. He signed the illegal alien amnesty. As governor of CA he even signed a pro-abortion bill. But who can deny Reagan's bonafides? I think we must look at what Mr. Trump has done and not what he has said in the past.

All Things are Political

Jim Church

Greenfield: Politics Killed the Culture » Politichicks.com
politichicks.com

"Politics is downstream of culture,” was once true, but culture is now downstream of politics. Culture is politics and politics is culture. Politics has killed culture and what’s left is politics telling stories, singing songs and writing books about its imperatives, worldviews and agendas.

We don’t have movies, songs or novels anymore. We have propaganda, scolding, preaching, sneering, hectoring, and smirking by the elites who control the cultural machine. Politics is their life and they want it to be ours. They can’t conceive of anything important that’s apolitical.

Tim adds:

I was watching Dr. Zhivago the other day. "The personal life is dead in Russia" Zhivago was told by Strelnikoff. And the Bolsheviks distrusted Zhivago because he wrote personal poetry that was not involved in politics. We are at that stage today.

Culture must serve the cause of the Revolution. Nothing that fails in that is acceptable.

Republican Surrender Monkeys

Michael Smith

I just read David French's column of today which asserts for the ten thousandth time that Republicans losing elections, especially if they have a whiff of Trump about them, is good for the future of the Party. Of course, people like French and the pedos at the Lincoln Project think that the path to glory for the GOP is to just be more like Democrats.

Personally, I'm already growing tired of the "throw Trump from the train" rhetoric. Trump was elected as a populist, but largely governed as a Reaganesque conservative and in doing so, surprised me and many like me. French and others like him retire to their fainting couches because Trump is "polarizing".

No shit, Sherlock.

I'll be the first to admit that there are aspects of Trump that I'm not super-enthused about but polarization is a function of the Democrats use of Saul Alinsky's Rule 12: "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Just what is it that people want to toss off the railroad trestle? What is it that needs to go? What needs to change from a presidency that spent 75% of the time fighting continuous waves of swarms of angry murder hornets and ended with two fake impeachments and a global pandemic and still is one of the most successful presidencies since Reagan?

And I'm not saying the nominee has to be Trump, but those wanting to dump him also want to change the GOP into Dem Lite, just like the Bush years.

That's a valid discussion to have because I'm not interested in going back to the perpetual "go along to get along", upper Northeast country club Republicanism of the pre-Reagan years (I'm looking at you Mitt Romney).

I want a party, like Trump, that DGAF and actually WANTS to govern in a way to make America strong and preserve liberty and justice for all.

FDR Folly

Richard Cronin

The Dust Bowl years were the closest we ever came to a Socialist nation. The elites all marveled at Stalin’s resolute governance and the happy campers in the USSR. Collectivizatio n of agriculture in Ukraine produced massive famine. Huge numbers of productive, working-age men were lost to the trenches of WW-l and the Spanish flu. A crippled man sat in the White House. Social Security was enacted. All of FDR’s spit balls did nothing to get us out of the Great Depression. It was the great gush of oil as the oil fields of East Texas and Oklahoma came on-stream.

It certainly feels like that right now.

The State as Family

Michael Smith

I've been studying several of the postmortems if the Red Fart from last week and I see a problem far more serious than young voters or unmarried women, it is that what these classes of voters want, not a single soul on earth can give them.

There is a lot of evidence the unmarried cohort that went to Democrats by 37 points over Republicans have turned to the state as husband and are being led to believe they are leading an "independent" life, when it is just a life without a male partner (or family) supported by government.

As I noted a few days ago, this is more of a huge cultural shift that will be reflected in political outcomes for at least a generation.

Tim adds:

I once read a theory about the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. That theory suggested that the young people of Germany had lost their fathers in WWI and that Hitler and the rest of the Nazi top brass were about the age their fathers would be. The end result was this fatherless generation looked to these strong figures not out of policy agreement but out of the faith of a child for his dad.

They were seeking parents.

Modern America is very much like that. Broken homes have led to a generation that is rootless and in desperate need of a strong parent or two. These kids know it deep down. The parent who raises them is usually absent and overworked, and so they hang around on their gadgets all day and pine for someone to act as father (or mother.) The State then becomes the solution.

It is unquestionable to me that the intellectual Left knew that all along, which is why they promoted so many of the things that they did - easy divorce, the sexual revolution, the welfare state, etc.

And the institutions that had been in place to ameliorate such problems - the churches, charitable organizations, social clubs like the Elks or Optimists, etc. have been dismantled.

We know how it turned out in Germany.

Ultimately these younger people are looking for love and approval. They didn't get it and won't get it from a soulless bureaucracy. But they have been taught to rage against anyone who opposes the leftist orthodoxy, and so they continue to dig their own graves - and ours.

It's Not Over Yet

Selwyn Duke

By my calculations, only 13 House seats remain undecided, only three have GOP incumbents, and the Democrats would need to flip all three to retain the House. That's the good news.

The bad news is that two of those seats are in California, where they've counted in some undecided races only a relatively small percentage of the vote. My suspicion is that they're trying to cook the books (ballot harvesting is legal in Ca.). The third seat is Lauren Boebert's in Colorado; she's ahead, but, I've heard, the Dems are, surprise, surprise, trying to get new ballots introduced.

People committing vote fraud should get 40 years hard labor.

GOP Failures in the New World Order

Timothy Birdnow

So what happened to the Red Wave?

Here are a few answers:

The real loser in the midterm election was not Trump, it was Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). He showered money on the party establishment’s favorite U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), while giving no help to her more conservative opponent.

In Arizona, McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund cancelled $17.6 million in ad buys for GOP candidate Blake Masters. This decision destroyed any chance he had to win that close election. In the aftermath, Masters urged Republican Senators to "not vote Mitch McConnell into leadership. He doesn’t deserve to be majority leader or minority leader.”

I would say the real winner was McConnell. His intention was to purge MAGA from "hist" party and get back to business as usual.

He doesn't mind being minority leader as long as he remains in charge.

During this election, President Trump was on the campaign trail reminding voters of his successful administration. He was also pointing out the disastrous results of the Biden administration. Unfortunately, he did not have any help from the Republican Party’s leadership.

While Republicans rightly criticized the calamity of the Biden administration, they were ineffective in informing voters about their agenda. There was no platform like "Contract with America” that helped Republicans win in 1994. While McCarthy and Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida offered plans of action, nothing was emphasized to voters.

Henceforth, part of any Republican Party plan must be a demand that voting return to Election Day. Absentee voting needs to be rare and mail-in voting, ballot harvesting and drop boxes must be eliminated.

It is outrageous that vote counting continued for days after the election in states such as Arizona, Pennsylvania, California, and Nevada. The longer the voting is extended, the less confidence there should be in the result.

In a related article we get more on how they did it (the Democrats.)

Finally, the Red Wave fizzled out because the only state that did anything to correct the chicanery, that went on in the 2020 election, was Florida. Nothing was done to stop ballot harvesting and phony mail in ballots anywhere else. The Red Wave fizzled because Democrat strong holds have an army of the dead to vote for them. It fizzled because there’s an endless supply of mail-in ballots ready to be harvested and cast for the fascist puppets that are currently ruining America

There are more reasons, from the overconfidence projected by top party leaders which suppressed Republican votes, to the Republicans talking about passing a law against abortion nationwide (not a terriblie idea but a terrible strategy to discuss before election day) to a failure of the GOP to remind voters of what a disaster the Biden administration has been and to offer their own vision.

Also, the Dems had a LOT more money to play with than the GOP, both hard and soft. I suspect many dollars given to Ukraine came back in the laundry basket.

In 2020 we let them get away with stealing the election. The Demcorats have been building a machine similar to the one they built in California, or to the old Daley machine in Chicago. It's now activated and the Democrats can't lose. If we couldn't win at a time of sky high gas prices, declining standards of living, high inflation, high interest rates, looming war, and an increasingly intrusive surveillance state, we can't win at all.

And the GOP is so frightened of MAGA they will accept defeat rather than let Trump carry the victory.

We aren't just battling the Democrats and the media, weare also battling the Establishment in the GOP. Our enemies encircle us.

In 2020 I said we would never win a major victory again. I fear I must affirm  that prediction. Oh, we'll win some elections, but never again will we have someone who will challlenge the consensus between the uniparty over this New World Order.

How You Gonna Feed 'Em?

Jim Church

Sri Lanka just bankrpted its agricultural industry. Canada, Netherlands and New Zealand are pushing in the same direction. Much of the EU and theUSA are moving in that direction too. The world’s population is about to pass 8 billion but ignorant politicians have bought into green quackery which will gut the ability to feed the world’s hungry. This insanity must stop!

Tim adds:

These people believe we need "equity" in the world, and since the Third World is behind the First World the only fair thing is to deindustrialize the First World and let the Third World "catch up". These fools don't understand that wrecking the First World economy will only wreck the Third World's as well. They are dependent on us to a large degree economically. When we do without they starve.

They think they can destroy the industrialism that gave us this bounty and rebuild our societies on a "sustainable" pattern. But that won't work, as you have to employ a lot of energy and use chemicals to accomplish this. Anyone who has ever tried to farm organically knows how difficult it is.

I used to grow wine grapes in my back yard. The birds got most of them. And rot took a lot more. I rarely got much of a crop, and what I did get usually came from a hybrid the birds wouldn't touch.

We cannot feed the world without gas powered tractors, without fertilizer, without tools and implennts, without a distribution system.

The "Affordable Houseing" Grift

Kurt Womack

The City Of Prescott is rolling out the so-called "Affordable Housing" agenda, they are gearing up to have a committee to evaluate how to accomplish it.

The General Plan was originally adopted 2003, one 'element' of the plan is Affordable Housing, another 'element' is Open Space, which obviously are conflicting interests, buy buildable property which makes the price of remaining property more expensive. I delved into the plan, and questioned many issues, even showed up at the committee's last meeting, and was the only person in the audience. So 19 years later, we still have a lack of "Affordable Housing"!

Just as before, they are using the Orwellian 'Animal Farm' talking point, that the city needs this for police and firemen. I can tell you, every customer I've had would love reduced regulations, and not be hammered with the building department's demands for excessive regulation that costs more money up front to get the permit, plus costs more in materials and engineer testing and special inspections. So why are taxpayer funded 'workers' being given this perc, when their second class neighbors are being forced into SUBSIDIZING their homes? If we balk, will police go on strike and leave us twisting in the wind? Will the fire department not show up to save the house we paid for without taxpayer assistance, if we dare to speak out against this? I grew up in government housing, when my dad was a NPS Ranger, but that was obviously funded by the Department of Interior, not competing with the private sector.

Now I'm going to have to keep track of this nonsense. Typical government, create problems such as having the building department abuse it's power which contributes to the higher cost of building, then ride in on a white horse to save the day with selective "Affordable Housing". 🤬

Tim adds:

"Affordable Housing" is a long time Democrat talking point. It is the exact opposite, infusing cash into a market and thus making the supply shrink. It's why a single family home cost my parent's $18,000 in 1969 and that same home will cost probably $150,000 or more. Supply and Demand are laws of economics, not suggestions.

And open spaces? That is straight out of U.N. Agenda 21.

this sounds like another scam to funnel money to union workers to launder it back to the Democrats.
