Uh-huh, yeah. Something tells me "Melissa" is far too confused to figure out what disinformation is. It's good that Musk is cleaning house.

My Twitter account is still suspended, though — more than a year and a half now.

How to Empower the Black Community - by a Black Woman

From the Aviary Editorial Staff:

Cindy Chan, a black lady broadcaster and published author, has written quite a bold piece at American Thinker today on how black people can help themselves have a better future (hint: it doesn't advocate another government program). She says, in a thoughtful blog piece that reads like an official article, a number of things that can end individual excuses and cause a number of blacks to create a better future for themselves.

Some people - maybe not regular readers of this website - will be outraged by her thoughts. But I say to all who read this piece that I linked to here and quote in part below:

Cindy Chan says, in part:

" Complete education is the only answer, to every problem we have as a society today.  Our people must be educated.  Each of us must be self-sufficient.  The inability for entire communities to grow and prosper, especially if they must then rely on others, is a root cause of racial hatred."

I would add a milder statement as well - without contradicting her - namely the inability for entire communities to grow and prosper, especially if they must rely on others, is a root cause of lesser resentments than hatred such as disdain, dislike, and an exasperated feeling that can be described as "Oh, not this same old story again."

Cindy Chan wants the best for her people - and all of America. I strongly recommend that everyone read the piece.

Why Hasn't Birx Been Prosecuted?

Timothy Birdnow

I know this is an older story but I hadn't encountered it in such detail.

Deborah Birx, who was advising then President Trump, was cooking the books on the information she was supplying the President.

https://www.science.org/content/article/inside-story-how-trumps-covid-19-coordinator-undermined-cdc

If Covid was such a crisis why lie to the President?

For that matter, why wasn't Birx charged with criminal fraud?  She has admitted it herself yet nothing happened. Huge sums of money have changed hands and the country has been fundamentally altered (and President Trump lost his office) as a result of Birx. She should have the full force of the law come down on her.

This is but another example of the two-tiered system of justice in America. Since Birx was on the "right side" of this as the Ruling Class view it she gets a pass. Imagine the fallout if the situation was reversed.

We don't really have to imagine. Look at the case of Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, for example.

Granted, Fortenberry was accused of misleading the FBI, but is that somehow excusable and what Birx did less so?

You won't find any situation analogous to this as most Democrats fire those with whom they disagree and a conservative Birx wouldn't lie about it anyway if there were such a critter.

Until we start treating these scumbags criminally, we will have an out-of-control bureaucracy usurping the authority of the President. We elect the President.

At a bare minimum she should be subject to a class action suit by all of America for the money she cost us all.

Political Views and the Brain

Timothy Birdnow

I had a disagreement with a polite liberal about the brain differences between right and left. It's interesting; read it below:

Mike says:

This brings up a tangential unfinished debate about differing brain structures in conservatives and liberals. The 1st time I heard about this was from a psychologist widely admire by conservatives for having very solid anti-feminist assertions so strong that he can openly debate feminist attacks and logically counter every verbal assault.

But much more of interest to me is his work on studying the psychological and physiological differences in brain structure between conservates and liberals. One psychological difference he found is that all successful serial entrepreneurs are liberals. Elon Musk appeared to be a successful serial entrepreneur but not so much anymore...

He also found that conservatives test much better than liberals at organizational skills and slightly better at productivity, which is why most managers are very conservative. Liberals test much better at openness, they are substantially better at absorbing new ideas and evaluating their viability. He asserts that while most of their new ideas will be flawed, somewhere in there is a much better solution.

This is God's design, like the way men and women can live together in harmony, society absolutely needs both conservatives and liberals, but just like men and women, they have to understand their respective social roles to work together in harmony or things will break down.

Here is an excerpt from ChristianityToday .com from an article called "Conservatives And Liberals Need Each Other" that in part contrasts the Culture Wars with the Reformation:

"The truth, then, is that the conservative needs the liberal as much as the liberal needs the conservative, although in a quite different way. Without implying any un-American political convictions, one might say that the liberal’s religious development often appears to proceed in analogous lines to the Kremlin’s political actions. The truly "correct” theology is always the current one. All preceding versions are viewed as inadequate formulations of that truth which now is seen clearly. As the political fortunes of the Kremlin well indicate, what today is "modern” may tomorrow be outdated; a new leader may order the rewriting of the history of the party and thereby bring about a rearrangement of what is viewed as the "party” against the "anti-party” line. Protestant liberalism is, of course, less monolithic than the Kremlin; yet it is just as rapid in its repeated changes of the "really” adequate way of theologizing. The conservative cannot understand how the liberal can proclaim his newly formulated outlook to be the most adequate, since the past record indicates the inevitable: before the proclaimer has retired from his teaching post, his views will first be divided up into early, middle, and late positions, then finally considered as altogether outdated and in need of being replaced by the "new” and significant "breakthrough.”

At the same time, the conservative needs the presence of the liberal to remind him that not all change indicates purposelessness and instability. To the liberal it often appears that the conservative fails to see that change is an intrinsic aspect of life, and that what is really important is not to record the occurrence of the change and to identify the latest phase as the best but to observe the context in which the change has taken place. If this is done, then it may be possible to witness to the conservative that the task of Christian theology is not to build new systems (or to retain the old) for their own sake but to employ them as means for communicating the Gospel. As secular culture changes, as its needs vary from generation to generation, as its very language changes, so also must the speaking of the theologian be forever "incarnate” in the world in which he lives. Thus the liberal is not seeking to be creative for the sake of novelty; rather, he tries to speak to a new situation in a fresh and more adequate way. The conservative, in the perspective of the liberal, often enough appears to be an antiquarian who hugs the past and then scolds the world for passing him by.

Now, the point of this contrast (admittedly oversimplified) between conservatives and liberals has been, first, to underscore their mutual and continuous need for encounter, and, second, to point out that in the theological climate of the twentieth century, in which both sides have abandoned the Reformation’s stance of hate-filled rejection of views other than one’s own, at least an implicit rapprochement has already occurred. To a significant degree the encounter already takes place. To say this is not to deny that the Reformers were well informed about the views of opponents (although, admittedly, not all the opponents knew one another equally well). Yet because the opponents were treated as either stupid or infidel, their theological insights were never taken very seriously. Today, by contrast, with the general acceptance of the possibility of differences of interpretation, the wall of hate and suspicion has been broken down. Those who once were enemies now stand face to face with one another as respected members of the same household of Christ."

Republican Senators Vote with Democrats on Gay Marriage

Timothy Birdnow

With friends like these...

12 Republicans vote with Democrats to advance bill codifying same-sex marriage into federal law
theblaze.com

One dozen Republican senators joined their Democratic colleagues on Wednesday to advance legislation protecting same-sex marriages.

Here is yet more proof of why we need a conservative Senate. These RINO Repubicans aren't cutting it.

How can we restore this nation with people like this?

My own Seantor - the dishonorable Roy Blunt - joined the Democrats in his parting gift to Missouri and America.

The list of shame:
  • Roy Blunt (Mo.)
  • Richard M. Burr (N.C.)
  • Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.)
  • Susan Collins (Maine)
  • Joni Ernst (Iowa)
  • Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.)
  • Lisa Murkowski (Alaska)
  • Rob Portman (Ohio)
  • Dan Sullivan (Alaska)
  • Mitt Romney (Utah)
  • Thom Tillis (N.C.)
  • Todd Young (Ind.)
Mormon Mitt Romney?  And Utah elected that jackass?

Notice how these are all acolytes of Mitch McConnell.

If America's opposition party can't stand against this redefinition of human civilization (which it is; there was never gay marriage at any time anywhere in history) we are doomed. And what do these idiots think they will gain?  Do they think it will be of political benefit to them?

It's a sad day for America and a black eye for the GOP.

The Price of Tylenol in Canada

Timothy Birdnow

I was always told Canada had such a better healthcare system than the U.S. and their drugs were so much cheaper. So why do Canadians have to drive to the U.S. for Tylenol? Could it be socialized medicine isn't all it's cracked up to be?

Allen Hosey

I'm just cringing that Canada cannot import any Tylenol or extra-strength Advil from anywhere to protect our children, yet in the US, their pharmacies are comfortably supplied with all the children's strength compounds they need. If Canadian parents want to buy American pharma they can just drive across the international border and buy, over-the-counter from the Americans. Do you know why they have to do this? Is it a different pharma compound or something? US Advil and Tylenol is packaged in english language bottle, but bottle coming to Canada MUST HAVE BILINGUAL LABELS -NO EXCEPTIONS! HEY LET OUR CHILDREN DIE BUT KEEP THE BUREAUCRACY PURE...SHEESH!! !

GOP Agenda

John Lees

"Republicans have also indicated they will disband Democrat-led investigations, including the special committee probing Trump’s role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol, and launch their own inquests into everything from the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic to the business dealings of Hunter Biden, the president’s son."
So, yes, yes and yes. It's time for the questions that matter. We've already done the Capitol Riot non-stop for nearly two years.
Who shot Ashli Babbit, why and why did they not face justice? Why did nobody on the Jan 6th committee ask that question? It's a charade.
https://www.ft.com/content/8430fec4-896b-422b-99c0-aed793f92610

Tim adds:

I fear the GOP may use this to shut down the current investigations but may then just close everything out. That was the Karl Rove strategy and it was a loser, but the RINO wing wants to purge MAGA from the party so may well try to pull that.

Arguing with Idiots; Dump Trump Edition

Timothy Birdnow

On Facebook I run afoul of a Nevertrumper. Steve Maxwell argues that Trump is basically a POS.

Trump did absolutely everything Fauci told him to do and Fauci praised him for it. Kemp, DeSantis and Noem were the Covid heroes.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.politico.com/amp/news/2020/04/22/trump-kemp-georgia-reopen-coronavirus-202117

Why wasn't he smart enough to seek better advice like DeSantis. He's a man who is driven by ego and emotion. He has no stable world view. Here is an example: I bet you didn't know about this.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2022/05/27/us/trump-gun-control.amp.html

Remember when Trump said he could shoot someone on 6th Ave and his worshipers would stay with him? It's true. You guys won't hold him accountable for anything.

Fortunately, we live in a Republic with democratically elected representatives

Arguing with Idiots, Trump-as-Antichrisst Edition

Timothy Birdnow

On Facebook I had an argument with a man who wrote a book claiming Trump is the Antichrist.

One question; multiple reports say Mr. Trump often engaged in random acts of kindness, and even the Trump hating Snopes had to admit that.

How does the Devil's anointed do nice things? He didn't seek adulation for any of them, just did them quietly.

I pointed out a number of other flaws in his thinking, from the fact the media - which has been solidly on the side of Satan - hates Trump to the fact that Trump's power base is not the wealthy or powerful but the working class - the same as was Jesus.

My inerlocutor clammed up after that.

And there is reason to believe the Antichrist is a homosexual. Daniel 11:37 says:

"Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all."

Now Mr. Trump has a monstrous ego, but he does not magnify himself above God or any god. Certainly he claims to be a Presbyterian, and attends church services (more or less).

But what of the "desire of women" part?  Trump both loves women AND gives them positions of power in his companies.

Trump is not a military man nor does he seem to have much interest. In fact, he was bitterly opposed by the military, by and large, because he wound multiple wars down. The Bible says the Antichrist would worship the military, the "god of forces."

It is also said the Antichrist would gain the kingdom through flatteries. Trump is many things, but not a flatterer. This fellow here claimed he was nothing BUT a flatterer!  I cannot imagine what world this fellow inhabits. Trump rarely praises anyone. He is quick to criticize, though.

Flatter is immoderate praise.

The Antichrist is said to "deceive the whole world". Much of the world has been deceived by the media, not Mr. Trump.

It was here my argument with this fellow hit an interesting turn. I pointe to Revelation 1215
"So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood."

I pointed out this is a clear description of the Devil using words to crush the Church. It is a flood of lies. As I pointed out, Mr. Trump was attacked night and day by the media (much like the Devil accuses the bretheren before the throne of God "night and day"). I pointed out Trump is plain spoken, not eloquent, which is a large part of his appeal (was it was of Jesus) and he calls a spade a spade (as did Jesus).

This guy sneered at this, saying I didn't know what I was talking about; this was not about Satanic lies. He claimed the Woman with the Child was Israel. I ppointed out that the whole of Revelation was a warning TO THE CHURCH and that the woman represented both Mary and the Church. Satan tried to drown her with a flood from his mouth - in other words, with lies and deceit.

Just as they tried to do with Trump.

It's interesting to see how ridiculously far the Trump haters will go to vilify the man. This guy actually wrote a book calling Trump the Devil's Anointed!

I finished by pointing out that Jesus said only the Father knows the time of the end, and so we cannot know who the Antichrist is until then. In other words, this fellow was setting himself up to be on the same level as the Father.

He stopped replying at that point.

Theory v. Implementation

Richard Cronin

Nikola Tesla developed AC power technology. Thomas Edison wanted a DC power system. AC won out because it allows long distance transmission with voltage drop managed thru the use of capacitors while the voltage drop with DC over long distance makes it infeasible.

Then George Westinghouse swept up Tesla’s patents to become the dominant supplier of AC equipment plus transmit power from Niagara Falls down to New York.

Tesla was a scientific genius but Westinghouse was the clever businessman. Let’s see how Elon Musk fares.
