The physical sciences, sicknesses included, have demonstrated that life indeed hangs in the balance with mutations, bacteria, and viruses sitting at the rock bottom of life which always stands as a threat to the human predicament so obvious from any point of view this side of the grave. Non-life or death is everywhere abundant in the universe, and postmodernists believe that modern man, particularly western Christian modern man, has virtually apocalyptically traumatized that fragile balance of nature beyond repair.

In particular, it has been strangely presumed that western progress over the last 200 years has shattered gradual evolutionary development so that the natural world is unable to cope with all of the massive changes. Rather than realize the doctrine of evolution cannot explain much of anything at the end of the day, all so many have doubled down on it, even to the point of using environmentalis m, and now the medical bureaucracies, i.e., ecology and biology, to slow it all down. As Dr. E. Calvin Beisner writes, "The naturalist atheistic worldview sees earth and all its ecosystems as the result of chance processes and therefore inherently unstable and fragile, vulnerable to enormous harm from tiny causes.” Tiny causes leading to semi-apocalypti c problems are now the norm philosophically and politically in our current postmodern world bereft of any sound wisdom from any point of view. The Judeo-Christian apocalypse has now been woefully confused with everyday life far worse than any Christian date-setter. Worse, all of their postmodern worries, concerns, and general unbelief are now being foisted upon an unsuspecting world with unprecedented scaremongering tactics - particularly with regard to the crown virus now. While the crown virus is bad enough, it is actually only a microcosm of much deeper problems which stand between the creation and its Creator. Postmodern man is very weak. A bad virus can easily upend the whole world socially, economically, politically, academically, and psychologically on a scale without precedent it seems.

The razor's edge of life, however, can be taken another way. The extremely narrow frontier between life and non-life in the universe should rather be a tremendous testimony to the existence of an ultimate Designer that only the infinite personal God of the Bible can adequately explain. It is actually much easier to argue that the created world is fallen and in rebellion against its Creator - which can be empirically verified from any point of view. How can a fallen world be escaped from? Politics and man-made religion invariably come up short offering masks and other nefarious band-aids as a legalistic prescription to man's grave problems - pun intended - all of which invariably worsen problems rather than make them better in case anyone has not noticed?

I am thus now in Narva, Estonia on the very border between Russia and the EU teaching a very small church group about the grace of God - particularly with the book of Romans. Estonia, perhaps the least unchurched country in the world, needs the grace of God as we all do. The razor's edge of life is even more true spiritually than physically. The margins are very thin, particularly today. Please join with me in prayer as we try to help others here, both with regard to missionaries and locals, establish some eternal foundations on the hard ground of northern Europe in the bare spiritual landscapes of the former Soviet Union. There is much beauty here thanks to the glories of the Creator which still shines through the broken, fallen world we all live in - but people need a Creator-Redeeme r far more to beautify their inner lives as well.

And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it (Romans 8:18-25)."

I noticed that my friend Roger had gone all quiet about Florida. For a while he was claiming that hospitalization s were up (true) because vaccinations were low (not true) and Florida has no mask or lockdown mandates (true). So I went to see why the sudden silence.

It turns out that with NO masking and NO lockdowns, hospitalization s in Florida have dropped precipitously ... funny how that never gets noticed, while increases are announced with huge headlines.

It also highlights another problem. IF Florida had imposed mask and lockdown mandates, everyone would be saying "See, masks and lockdowns work!" (they don't).

But since Florida did NOT give in to the hysteria, the result gets buried, and neither Roger nor the mainstream media say one word about it.

Go figure ...
