The Aviary Attacked by the Eighth Circle

Timothy Birdnow

As readers know, I'm the editor in chief and chief cook and bottle washer at The Aviary. While Dana Mathewson and Jack Kemp are co-editors here, I do much of the work (especially lately as Jack has been on a sabbatical and Dana has been awfully busy.) So when I have problems the site suffers.

I had a nasty computer virus and spent the whole morning trying to fix it. I don't know if I did, but the problem has stopped, at least for now, so maybe my efforts worked. I don't know. But at any rate, it means there won't be much here today and maybe not tomorrow either (if it starts back up.)

People who create computer viruses have a special place waiting for them in Hell. In Dante's Inferno the Eighth Circle of Hell, called Malebolge, is reserved for those who commit fraud on general principle. Fraud is a kind of malice, one unique to humanity as only we cannot see the truth of what is in someone's mind. That pretty much defines the little old virus makers. They trick people into accepting updates with malicious software. It's done not even for profit necessarily (sometimes it is) but out of the pleasure of screwing somebody.

At any rate, blogging may be a bit light until I get this fixed.

Who's the Radical Muslim?

Warner Todd Huston

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Called Islamophobic for Saying Trump Supporters ‘Act Like Radical Muslims’

A word from Tim:

Here her side wants to make women cover their faces (and the rest of us too), make us stop attending Christian churches, make us pay a Jizya style reparations for slavery. Her side are the ones rioting like Muslims in Paris. Her side is attacking Republicans. Her side wants us to submit. Her side is trained by Palestinian terrorists and supports the destruction of Israel. But WE are the Muslims?

Australian Brownshirts

James Doogue

We Don't Have To Be Sheep

I don't normally share videos 20 minutes long. I was encouraged to watch this video and I'm glad I did. https:// youtu.be/ 2u52csnDQJQ

The video motivated me to write this on my phone hours after some minor spinal surgery.

By now many of us have seen the outrageous footage of the pregnant Zoe Lee (Buhler) being arrested and handcuffed, in her PJ's, while police ransack her home and seize ALL electronic devices regardless of who owned them.

The heavy-handed manner with which the police acted, for the crime of posting an invite to attend a demonstration against the Victorian lock-down measures is breathtaking.

Ballarat, where the protest was going to be staged, is only in stage 3 lock-down measures, so if people chose to take their exercise in the manner promoted by Zoe, including socially distancing and wearing masks, it would not be illegal.

The police and the premier have startlingly doubled down on their actions. It's tellingly that the matter won't be considered in court until January. You'd think if they wanted to send a message to the public, it would be a matter of public interest to have the earliest possible hearing.

They won't let that happen because the case should be thrown out. It will likely be de-listed before the trial date. But even if it did get to trial, and technically Zoe is in breach of the Police State laws, she would get nothing more than a spent conviction. And there would be plenty of criticism of the police actions during the trial.

Even if the police thought Zoe was committing a heinous crime, their first action should have been to get the FB post taken down. They could have done that with a phone call and charged her by summons.

Four officers showing up at her home, the arrest and handcuffs, the time in lock-up, seizing the phones, tablets and computers of her husband, children and herself........ .that was just an act of bastardry.

The Premier and all the politicians who voted for the state of emergency, and the senior police who chose to respond in a diametrically opposite manner to the way they handle Black Lives Matter, all stand condemned for their actions.

Gideon Rozner from the IPA has talked about the political motivations of the Premier and his Police in this video. He also spent just under half this video discussing the economic impact of the lockdowns with Sophie Elsworth, personal finance writer with the Herald Sun. She discusses the personal devastation to businesses and families.

Neither agree with the polls which show resounding support for the lockdown. They aren't seeing it. Neither am I.

Both agree the sad lesson to take away from the handling of this pandemic is, 'never start a small business'. You can be too easily crushed by bureaucrats receiving secure incomes while destroying the economy and people's lives.

'Never start a small business' - That's music to the ears of a Marxist who prefer big businesses more easily controlled by government and open to the inevitable cronyism which comes with Marxist states. How else do the leaders of Russia and China, long time public servants, become billionaires, among the richest in the world?

We need more Australians, and particularly more Victorians, to be concerned with the totalitarian creep happening before our eyes, we don't have to be sheep.

The Federal Reserve Caused the Depression - and May Cause Another

Timothy Birdnow

Ev Nelson observes:

So today, Sep. 3, 2020, the Stock Market (Dow) dropped 800 points (1,000 points at one point during the day). On Sep. 3, 1929 the Market peaked at the end of the "Roaring Twenties" and fell through the floor.

I replied:

Well, the Federal Reserve contracted the money supply catastrophically after the crash which is what caused the Depression. Nowadays most people don't know that, blaming the Depression on the crash and on  "overspeculation" or some other ancilliary reason. The fact is the Fed kept expanding the money supply during the twenties, pumping the  economy up, then suddenly contracted it. https://www.sjsu.edu/faculty/watkins/depmon.htm

They also raised interest rates several times, in '28 and '29.

It didn't help that the Republican-controlled Congress raised taxes and started a trade war.

The rising interest rates led to a reduction in big ticket purchases (cars, housing, etc.) and this began to drag on stock prices. In the end there was a loss in investor confidence and a panic erupted culminating in the market crash.

When all is said and done, though, it was the Federal Reserve that caused the collapse - and it was the Reserve and President Roosevelt who metastasized a nasty depression into the Great Depression - and kept it going for a decade, including the "depression in a depression".

I had expected the Fed to do this again back in August. But they didn't have to because the Coronavirus gave them cover and shut the economy down. But be warned! The Fed may do something like this again this month on the 15th. Even though Trump appointed him, Federal Reserve Chairman Mao Powell was Janet Yellen's protege' and a Keynsian and likely Democratic ally. I do not trust him nor the rest of the board.

The Nose Noose

Timothy Birdnow

In a discussion with my friend Jeff Howe about the networks financing political movements and organizations - networks that remain largely hidden from view and that few people are aware exist - I remembered and mentioned Dwight Eisenhower's farewell address. Ike was prescient; he understood where so much of what was happening was going to lead. Most people remember his phrase "military industrial complex" but don't know what else he was warning against.

Here are the pertinent parts of his speech:

"A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction.

Our military organization today bears little relation to that known by any of my predecessors in peace time, or indeed by the fighting men of World War II or Korea.

Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United State corporations.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence-economic, political, even spiritual-is felt in every city, every state house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.

In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been over shadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded. Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system-ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society.

V

Another factor in maintaining balance involves the element of time. As we peer into society’s future, we-you and I, and our government-must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow."

And that's exactly what has happened. Science is largely funded by government or giant foundations, and it is being manipulated and channeled to serve increasingly political purposes. We are seeing vast movements created and fostered by huge sums of money, be they from the government or the many-headed hydra of major corporations funding multiple radical political "charities". Billionaires are funneling huge sums of money into organizations designed to twist and distort our country. You have George Soros, perhaps the kingpin. You have so many others; Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Tom Steyer, Michael Bloomberg, the Kochs (well, one Koch now), Zuckerberg, Tom Dorsey etc. By laundering money through massive networks of foundations and charities they manipulate grass-roots level events. For instance, Soros had his "prosecuting attorneys project" where he bought a bunch of D.A. jobs for radicals and we wound up with people like St. Louis' Kim Gardner.

And it seems so fcw people are aware of how they are minipulated and don't especially care.

Ike was right; we did indeed have a lot to fear from the rise of technocracy and massive govcrnment/industrial complex funding. We are now seeing the fruits of this.

Global Warming panic is just one example (a big one, to be sure, as it has failed at almost every prediction and yet it remains a big issue because it was so heavily funded by the U.S. government and NGO's and multiple "charities".) I suspect the panic over Wuhan Virus is another example; while there is indeed a pandemic and people have died they have everyone thinking a third of the population has died of Covid and have everyone hiding under their beds. The reality is quite different and more importantly nothing we have done or can do is going to matter anyway, but the media makes us believe we are doing theLord's work by covering our faces like Wahaabi women. It's not just ridiculous but scientifically idiotic but they have people screaming at people who are unmasked and there have been some people actually shot by irate do-gooders over it.

All of this serves a purpose for someone, a political and social purpose. Ike would have understood.

About that Trump Military Hatred

This from Steven Chase:

Two comments on the LATEST Trump Media hoax:
1. ONLY president in your lifetime who HAS NOT sent our military men and women to invade a foreign sovereign country.
2. ONLY president to get soldiers' remains back from Korea, 67 years later.
Carry on....

A fellow named Jim Chrulski added:

Military and Veterans
President Trump is protecting America and our allies by rebuilding our military and ensuring our veterans receive the care they deserve.
* President Trump has restored American military strength.
* Under President Trump’s leadership, Congress passed three historic National Defense Authorization Acts (NDAA).
* The FY2020 NDAA includes a much needed 3.1% pay raise for our troops.
* The FY2020 NDAA establishes the United States Space Force to ensure American dominance in space.

Australian Nursing Home Deaths

James Doogue

Back on 18 August I wrote that we could expect about 44% of the 1215 active Covid-19 cases in Victorian aged care facilities to die. See:
https:// m.facebook.com/ story.php?story_ fbid=1022189825 0138226&id=1017 971895

The latest data shows 681 active cases in aged care facilities in Victoria with deaths now representing just over 43% of the total recovered/died figure.

Today there were 11 deaths attributed to Covid-19 in Victoria, 10 of those in aged care facilities.

The State Premier Daniel Andrews, and in turn the media, use these deaths to scare people into believing the lockdown and curfew is necessary.

In reality the bulk of future deaths in Victoria have essentially been locked-in with aged care residents who have Covid-19 and who will die.

The lock-down can't save them but it can make their lives and the lives of their loved ones, more miserable.

Unfortunately there will be around 300 more aged care residents deaths attributed to Covid-19 in Victoria. At the current rate, most will die over the next month.

They will continue to be used for The Andrew's government Covid-19 propoganda compaign, with the mainstream media acting as his compliant promoters. It's despicable.

Facebook Encouraging Vote Fraud

Timothy Birdnow

This morning when I went to open my Facebook page the following appeared:

Timothy, Request a Ballot for Virginia Now
In Virginia, you can request a ballot to be mailed to you if you're registered to vote. The deadline to request a ballot through the state's website is Oct 23. You can also request a ballot by mail or in person.
Showing info for Virginia · Change State

Now, I live in Missouri, and say so on my profile on Facebook. This notice came from the good folks at Facebook who had to know I wasn't registered there.

It suggests to me they are encouraging vote fraud. They are sending this to everyone to get people to try to vote illegally. I don't see any other way this can be interpreted.

You can't make this stuff up.

A Game that has Lost it's Way

Mark Musser

In 2017, I wrote an article for the American Thinker entitled, "The Leaven of Political Football" not realizing how prophetic the piece was as the NFL has now become completely politicized. The Left believes everything is political, one of its major pillars, and so here we are, including football now too. Yet everyone knows that politics ruins everything. It ruins churches too, not just governments or economics or even marriage/sex/biology. I used to love to go down to my McLane voting precinct to vote in person when you had to show them your voting registration card and then vote in a private booth to secure the sacredness of the vote, but that is now over as well with mail-in balloting. Since that started, virtually everyone I vote for today never wins. I used to love the weather, until that got politicized through the political foolishness of the global warming apocalypse. I also used to like football too in the autumn, but that is gone now too thanks to the COVID madness and an egregious political correctness that now extols Nazi style racism as something positive and good. Yet I grew up on the Super Seventies of the NFL, not realizing then how spoiled I was by it as I have watched the game slowly deteriorate and become increasingly politicized and ruined by legalism and lawyerism. It has been going on for quite some time really, building more and more since 1978 with some serious rule changes that specifically favors offenses over defenses. And then there was the destruction of the James Gang of University of Washington football program in the early 90's as a harbinger of the much bigger things to come that we see so much of today. Don James was one my favorite coaches of all time. He has since passed away and was a Christian who taught a number of college youths on how to become men - Warren Moon being one of them who would later go on to the Hall of Fame.

The Rams were my favorite in the 70's, but the Raiders were a very close number 2 thanks to John Madden. Here is their Autumn Wind song, which is full of nostalgia now for a game that has completely lost its way - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPLmxtiVOe0&list=LLIq5Jdn61sTeof2Zi0pAJ3w&index=115.

Smearing Trump for Fun and Profit

Timothy Birdnow

In the latest fake news, the Atlantic claims Donald Trump said Americans who died in war are "losers and suckers".

Who is stupid enough to believe that? If it were Biden or Backstroke Harris maybe...

I think we all know who the "suckers" and "losers" really are.

John Bolton rebutted this already.

On Facebook a commenter named Susan Phillips gave us these pertinent quotes:

Multiple people who were there with him in France immediately denounced The Atlantic report as false. Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted: "The Atlantic story on Donald Trump is total BS. I was actually there and one of the people part of the discussion – this never happened."

Jordan Karem, the president's former body man, tweeted: "Again, this is 100% false. I was next to @POTUS the whole day! The President was greatly disappointed when told we couldn't fly there. He was incredibly eager to honor our Fallen Heroes."

Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino tweeted, "I was with POTUS in France . . . Complete lies by 'anonymous sources.'"

Stars and Stripes Closing

Timothy Birdnow

Stars and Stripes, the military news source, has been ordered to close after being defunded by the Pentagon.

From the Politico story:

In the memo, the department says that Esper has decided to discontinue publication of the paper as a result of his department-wide budget review. Signed by Army Col. Paul Haverstick, acting director of the Pentagon's Defense Media Activity, the memo said plans to shut down the paper are due on September 14, and the final newspaper publication will be on September 30.

[...]

In its budget request earlier this year, the Pentagon proposed cutting the paper's funding, triggering angry reactions from members of Congress.

Arguing with Idiots: New Covid Addition

Timothy Birdnow

On the AARP page of Facebook (they signed me up to receive updates on my page without my permission so I always give 'em hell!) an argument erupted and I wanted to share my own part in it.

This topic was Covid and how we're all going to die.

Rachel said:

PLEASE. We really need to get over our excessive fear of being alive. I am so DONE with the fearmongering!

I replied:

Amen. Being reasonably cautious is a world away from what we've been doing, which is trying to frighten and panic the public. The way this thing has been handled by the media and the progressives like AARP is disgraceful. We've never done anything remotely like this before. And the numbers have never, ever justified the lockdown/
masking/civil liberties usurpations. This was all based on Neil Ferguson's model, which was ridiculous and even he admitted it was wrong. We were told to do all this to "flatten the curve" then it subtly morphed into "saving lives" with all of this. But it doesn't save lives and the only way were are going to get past this is by reopening and letting the healthy people develop immunity to it. You can't hide from it forever.

Larissza Ratka Altdorfer didn't like that:

Timothy Birdnow https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/04/24/coronavirus-dead-victims-stories/?arc404=true They are not numbers, they are people with a life cut too short and we didn't see the statistic yet, how many infected will have a life-changing disability after they get better. It's not a big deal to wear a mask and wash hands. You don't have to be scared to do it.

I retorted:

Larissza Ratkai Altdorfer how many people died of other things last year? Every death is sad, but do you hide under your bed because you might die of a car crash or catch the flu or get shot?

Do you know that only about nine thousand people have died in the U.S. who had no comorbidities? https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm?fbclid=IwAR359rNVZxca-dH46TdSrImySsGLWuQxOtcxPyry3aW4QzCmV7Zb0YlbN94
and that most of the deaths we have had occured in New York, Massachussetts, and a few other places and most were a result of the idiotic policy of putting people infected with Wuhan Virus in nursing homes? Do you realize that other countries that did not do the lockdown (like Sweden) did better than most of the countries that had strict lockdowns? (You'll only hear Sweden compared to Norway and Denmaerk; never to Britain or Germany or the U.S. Now why do you suppose that is?)

This is a disease that is no certainly no worse than the pandemic of 1957 or '68. We did not panic and imprison America then. Doing so now is pure fearmongering, and it is largley being driven by political aspirations.

You are so concerned about people dying, but do stay awake at night worrying about the
2,749 people who have been killed by gunfire in Chicago as of this year alone? That's over a quarter of the total number of deaths without comorbidities. But we don't shut Chicago down. In fact, we've promoted rioting and looting in multiple cities and said it was safe to "protest".

Washing your hands is fine, but we're still going to have this disease until we reach herd immunity. People don't seem to grasp that. What is needed is for the young and healthy to catch it, get better (and probably be asymptomatic) and get over it. Hand washing is good for the elderly and sickly. Masks are a monument to stupidity. Even Fauci admittede that, calling them "talismans". Their purpose is, like air raid drills in Omaha during WWII, to make the public aware and nothing more. A virus will move through a cloth mask like a mosquito through a chain link fence. Viruses are far too small to be stopped by a rag. You need a Hepa filter and a form-fitted mask minimum.

And it may come back and some people may develop permanent disabilities, but that happens with every disease. In point of fact it is likely to be a very small fraction of the population. We don't panic like this over other illnesses. We have to live our lives.

Compassion will not save any lives, and in fact the economic devastation is going to cost a lot of lives. So too is depression, domestic violence, etc. Your compassion is fine but in the end will hurt more people than the disease. All of the things you guys want to do will merely prolong and intensify the suffering and in the end the same number will die. Remember we used to talk about "flattening the curve"? All that meant was not having everyone get sick at the same time. It has subtly morphed into this vague notion we are somehow "fighting" the virus. All we are doing is dragging out the inevitable. Your concern for those who have died is nice, and I share it, but it accomplishes nothing of value. It's time to quit being so childish and get back to living our lives.

How Capitalism works

Dana Mathewson

A year ago -- well, maybe eight months ago -- most of you had likely never heard of Zoom, the software that makes it easy for a group of people to connect with each other on cell phones, tablets or computers. Now, just about everybody is using the software for work meetings, family get-togethers, church services and the like.

It's no surprise that the guy who invented the product is getting rich. Bernie Sanders is grinding his teeth over it, but hey, why shouldn't the developer reap the rewards of his ingenuity? I can pretty much guarantee that if Bolshevik Bernie could develop a product like this, he'd be delighted to see the stock price climb like this!

About a year ago, you probably had no idea who Eric Yuan was, much less what Zoom was. The coronavirus has however changed all of that. Due to the shutdown, Zoom has become one of the most widely used video calling software. And Eric Yuan, Zoom`s CEO, has gained so much from that growth. As of yesterday`s report of Zoom earnings, Eric Yuna made $5.2bn on Monday alone after shares of Zoom surged.

There are a lot of people, like Bernie Sanders, who would like to let you know that this is unfair; billionaires should not be making so much money at a time when other people are hurting economically. What they fail to say however is just how much the general population has benefited from the services provided by most of the world`s richest people like Jeff Bezos. Tech companies have grown during the pandemic people increased their demand for online services. The same has been true for Zoom, as reported by NBC.

Revenue grew 355% on an annualized basis in the fiscal second quarter, which ended on July 31, according to a statement. In the prior quarter Zoom’s revenue grew 169%. New customers’ subscriptions delivered 81% of the revenue growth, and there was less customer churn than expected, finance chief Kelly Steckelberg told analysts on a Zoom call.

Zoom’s income neared $186 million, up from just $5.5 million in the year-ago quarter. Zoom increased its adjusted gross margin to 72.3% from 69.4% one quarter earlier partly because of expanding the capacity of its own data center equipment.

It works very well for applications such as this. But it's lousy if you want to get music involved. I won't go into why this is so, just believe me.

Rioting Runs it's Course

Timothy Birdnow

He knows the rioting is getting old. Alinsky rule #7 "a tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag" We've been treated to this chaos for too long and people are starting to turn against it. Van Jones knows they need to turn the page. The mortal sin of political activism is boring people.

Van Jones: "We Need a National Moratorium on Nighttime Marches

Interesting that we let rioting run it's course but won't let the Coronavirus do likewise.

Swampland for Sale in Jefferson City

Timothy Birdnow

Missouri's RINO governor Mike "shut it all down" Parsons is apparently as corrupt as he is stupid. He has been shelling out cash to consulting firms to be told how to deal with Covid 19. And by cash I mean to the tune of over $300 grand!

How much is going to wind up in his or his buddies pockets?

Eric Greitens was Missouri's governor until he was framed by St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Kim Gardner. Part of why Greitens went down was because he wanted to reform the corrupt system here in the state. I was not a big fan of Greitens, a former Democrat, and I do think his big mouth lost him a lot of friends, but I do know Greitens was serious about reform. He wanted a waiting period of five years before a legislator could become a lobbyist, for example, and most of the members of the ethics committee which condemned him were within a year of retirement and had much to lose if Greitens remained in office.

It looks to me like Parsons is in bed with the same people who pushed Greitens out when he was trying to clean up the sewer in Jefferson City.

Poll Shut Down When Progressives Losing

Timothy Birdnow

Here's an example of how the media operates.

KSDK, a local NBC affiliate here in St. Louis, put up a poll asking people if they support a statewide masking order.

As of last night the "no" votes were creaming the crybabies.

Well, as of today nobody can get into the poll.

The purpose of a poll like this is to buttress the case for masks. OF COURSE KSDK crashed the link when they saw it wasn't serving the purpose for which it was designed.

That's how media rolls; they start out with a narrative or desired outcome then work to make it appear popular to the general public. It is intended to shape opinion, not reflect it.

While this is a local channel the local channels are often as bad or worse than the national networks; they feed off of the networks, and they have a bunch of hungry would-be journalists who dream of moving on up to the big time. It's a machine for liberalization at the grassroots level. And, as I have already stated, the locals get their news - and their slant - from the news services and networks.

That's why you rarely hear of a poll opposing what the Intelligentsia and the Progressives desire. They simply shut such a poll down.

America's Drowning Debt.

Timothy Birdnow

If we survive BLM and the Revolution and the Democrats and Chinese militarism and Islamic terrorism and Russian saber-rattling this will finish us. I see no way out of all this crushing debt.

]U.S. Debt is Set to Exceed Size of the Economy Next Year; a First Since WWII

I am mindful of Igor Panarin, a Russian political scientist and former KGB analyst who in 1998 predicted the collapse of the U.S. due to loose fiscal policy. At the time he was largely dismissed; everyone thought it was sour grapes since the Soviet Union fell for many of the same reasons. But Panarin has never recanted his belief and while it has taken a bit longer to happen one must wonder if he's not entirely correct. The sad thing is nobody is taking the debt seriously. Nobody. Not Trump, not the GOP, not the Democrats.

Any person knows you cannot spend more than you take in. But our government does because it controls the money supply and can just make more. That is a cute trick but in the end it catches up with you. It's going to catch up with us and it's going to be horrendous.

So what did Panarin think would happen? He thought America would be partitioned, and outside forces would "guarantee" security in much the same way as colonial powers "guaranteed" the "security" of places like the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan or other "protectorates". He thinks the Chinese will own the west coast and Russia will control Alaska. A collection of minor vassal states will exist.

Actually, that may be the only way out. America has lost whatever vigor it once had and is now circling the drain. We can no longer agree enough to have a functioning nation. Perhaps it's time to shake hands and part as friends? Or at least not as bitter enemies? The Left won't want that, because they are essentially universalists. But it there may be no other option. A Republic of Greater Texas, say, is better than a state of anarchy or a Chinese protectorate.

We have mortgaged our future. And this Coronavirus business was a major expense to our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. To keep the economy from following it's natural course after the shutdown we have exacerbated the problem. We will pay dearly for that, I fear.

Too bad America doesn't have a Main Force Patrol and a Rogatansky.
