Apologies for the Year End Slump

Dear readers,
Blogging has been slow and will continue thusly until after the first of the year. My apologies, but there have been extenuating circumstances.
The writers here at The Aviary have been making rather merry this Christmas, and unlike Scrooge with Bob Cratchit I cannot fire them as I don't pay them. So if I want a vacation I have to just shut the site down, or at least scale it back. I've had to do the latter this year end.
As I will be out making rather merry myself for the end of the year I'll be blogging slowly until the first. Maybe I should fire myself? Well, I'd do it but I can't afford the pay raise.
At any rate, please be patient. I will have more material coming before Sunday, and should be back to normal next week.
