This is unusual; Hindus are generally peaceable folk.
Over 30 Christians injured in attack by Hindu nationalists wielding axes
Hindus descended on a large prayer meeting wielding axes in a shocking imitation of their Muslim neighbors.
From the Christian Post:
At least 20 people suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized following the assault, which local leaders alleged was carried out by Hindu nationalist groups.
The attack took place in Kotamateru village of Malkangiri district on June 21, when around 20 farming Christian families had assembled to bless seeds before the planting season. Nearly 400 people from nearby villages stormed the area with weapons, including axes, and began what appeared to be a coordinated assault, according to the rights group Christian Solidarity International.
The local police claim the violence stemmed from a personal dispute between two brothers, one Christian and one Hindu, but the Christians involved dispute this claim. They argue:
I don't know but attacking unarmed, harmless folks engaged in prayer is not exactly good for your Karma and probably will result in your being born a dog bred for dog fighting or something.
The police version is just silly; why would so many join with this guy and use axes to attack people they didn't know over a personal dispute?
Hindus don't like Christians. They fear we are trying to impose our culture and values on them. Mother Theresa of Calcutta - who was beloved in India - faced considerable resistance early in her ministry, and only became beloved when she didn't try to preach any Christianity but simply showed God's love to the destitute and dying (her ministry was primarily to take in dying people so they could perish with some dignity rather on the streets, where their bodies were often just left to rot.)
I hate to hear this because I generally have a good amount of respect for Hindus. I am convinced they are wrong, but they can make a good case and they believe it.
Most Hindus practice ahimsa, which says one should be kind to all other living beings. I suppose these guys are practicing Ahearsa, as they believe in butchering other living beings. (A hearse is a hearse of curse of curse...)
Actually they may be followers of Shiva and less so Brahma.
At any rate it's a terrible thing. Why go after Christians when they are natural allies against the Muslims who are always attacking Indians? Foolish.

Of course there are jerks in any field and with a billion Indians it was impossible to NOT have some real jackasses among them.

When I was working as a contract programmer at Target for a year, I was lumped in with about ten Indian contractors, and on the Feast of Diwali the cafeteria served curry. The Indians got the idea that I should be the first to sample it and critique it, which in fact I was qualified to do and happy to do. My American team watched with trepidation (Midwesterners and especially Minnesotans are terribly afraid of any food that might actually have any flavor) while I took a large spoonful and tucked into it, ate it thoughtfully, then delivered my opinion to the Indians: "Decent American curry, but if you go home from work and your wife serves you something like this, you'll wonder what she's been doing all day. The flavors have not had time to 'marry' yet (the Indians were smiling more and more as I talked). Real curry has to have a chance to blend for a few hours, and a cafeteria can't produce food like that." The Indians were delighted -- "Dana knows his curry!" Then I told my team "Come on, guys, eat some. There's no smoke coming out of my ears, is there?"
The secret was that the last year I was in New York, my beautiful Indian boss invited a number of us to her holiday party, catered by her and her husband's favorite Indian restaurant, and there were probably 15, maybe 20 levels of curry there -- she warned us about the ones that would be too hot for us -- but man, did we get some wonderful curry and it made us fans for life!
