Afghanistan: How President Trump Would Have Done It

Dana Mathewson

Good article indeed. I'm going to give you the link to the whole thing and just give you the final paragraph here:

The Taliban leader wanted no part of a Trumpian withdrawal. Until the weak Biden and his incompetent military advisors came to power, he was content to wait it out.

The entire article is here: https://pjmedia.com/columns/mark-ellis/2021/09/02/afghanistan-how-president-trump-would-have-done-it-n1475521

And we still have Trump active in the media to confirm or refute any of this.

1 Trump would have withdrawn in stages and made sure  the Afghan military had control before moving out more. He would have keep the air power going. He would have held Kabul for a long time and then slowly evacuated. None of that happened.

Biden simply ran away. And the Afghan soldiers weren't stupid; without proper support they couldn't hold the line, so many simply surrendered or changed sides to survive and so their families would live.

This was one of the great crimes of history. We seem to be seeing a lot of those as the Left was desperate to win their campaign to fundamentally transform Mankind and saw it slipping away with the resurgence under Mr. Trump.

2 And we'll probably never know to what degree Biden's actions were due to his wanting to "cancel" Trump. Lord knows he's caused the country enough harm by reversing Trump on so many levels.

In fact, I doubt Biden himself knows the thinking behind his decisions -- because he's not the person who made them, after all.

3 Biden has no idea what his policies are; they give him papers and he signs them. He's purely a figurehead.

It was in no small part about canceling Trump. But I think the Left saw a lot of opportunity in a disaster in Afghanistan.

4 My Orwellian decoder sunglass are pretty cloudy today. I can't figure what an Afghanistan disaster does for the Left, unless they figure they can pin the whole war on Republicans, because Bush started it. It doesn't matter that for eight years Obozo did nothing about it.

5 Dana, I'm not talking about the Democrats as a party but the LEFT here. They gain by humiliating America, by disspiriting Americans and illustrating to us that we can't go it alone, by setting the stage for the Chinese Communists to take the lead as the worlds great superpower,  etc. It isolates the U.S., much like the "Fortress America" policy of the old Soviet Union. It guarantees we cannot project power because we will not get anyone to support us in the future. And it will embroil us in waves and waves of terrorist attacks and small wars that will bankrupt us even further (as was another Soviet policy).

And our government regulation of the individual will grow to protect us from the troubles this unleashed.

It really is a dream for the Left. And the Democrats will happily go along with it.
