The ACLU, working in conjunction with the Democrats, is plotting a series of lawsuits to stop Trump from deporting illegal aliens.
No surprise.
Trump should file his own lawsuits, or rather his surrogates should, in friendly courts first, and when he wins this could either wind up dragging on for years or it could fast track to SCOTUS. He needs a legal imprimatur, even if he is following the letter of the law. Some liberal judge will simply nullify the law if he doesn't beat them to it.

If a friendly files suit against Trump and Trump wins then the competing rulings (and the ACLU will no doubt win in their own pet court) will be expedited to a higher Federal court. Either way Trump can continue with the policy until SCOTUS has to rule on it.
