ACA Challenge Dismissed for Standing

Warner Todd Huston

By the way, on that Obamacare ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court, yesterday, don't fall for the false characterizatio n that SCOTUS "decided to keep Obamacare" or somehow ruled in favor of Obamacare. What they actually did was say that the states that brought the case did not have the standing to show they were harmed. So, the SCOTUS essentially just threw the case out. They didn't rule on the merits of Obamacare.

Tim adds:

Just like the Texas lawsuit over the election; they simply choose not to hear it and find an excuse to do so.

Not sure how anyone could claim any American does not have standing where Obamacare is concerned; it intimately effects everyone in this country.

A pox upon those robed vermin!

1 Chickens. Especially with the rooster running their show. I think most of us suspected he wasn't going to be all that great, back when Bush slid him in as Chief Justice without his having to "season."

I've said it before and I'll probably say it again before I die, that Bush should have made Clarence Thomas Chief Justice. He would have been an even better choice than Scalia, for whom I always had the profoundest respect.

2 Agreed Dana. Thomas would have been a fine Chief Justice. Scalia was more a thinker and less of a doer than Thomas.

I wrote an article which American Thinker rejected at the time in which I warned Roberts would be a sell-out. I looked into his background and saw him for what he was. AT rejected it because they were absolutely certain Roberts was going to be a wonderful Justice. Hugh Hewitt said so.

3 All too often, Republican presidents pick duds. Who can forget David Souter, for example? Clarence Thomas was the exception, not the rule. Roberts is a hack. Alito still seems OK, though. Trump's three picks haven't lived up to expectations.
