I see Dana filled everyone in about my hiatus. It's going to continue at least through the rest of the week, alas. I am going to be tied up probably every day until she gets out of the hospital into rehab.
But I promise to return. Most blogs like this eventually closed because the author/editor tired of laboring with no return, but not me. I find it therapeutic and like the fans we have here (the few who are left anyway.) So I give you my word of honor I will, like MacArthur, return! Please be patient and check back in a few days.
Thank you all for your kindness, prayers, support, and for reading.
Tim

You're right Bill; it actually IS a privilege, although it is no fun either. I've had to watch them stand Cathy up and seen the pain she's in - it's heartbreaking, especially since she's a very soft and gentle person and it's so terrible to watch such a person suffer like that. But you're right; it's our primary job in this tired old world.
Thanks Mike; I sure hope so! She beat stage III cancer five years ago and this cancer wasn't as bad and they removed the whole thing. The danger we face is she may wind up being invalid; she already has great difficulty walking and that won't get any better, I fear. My wife has a rare genetic disorder similar to Parkinsons (and they treat it much the same) and betweeen that and the radiation treatments last time she barely can creep along. I fear she will wind up unable to actually walk from this. But the physical therapy people are working on it so hopefully she'll do well.
I'll keep everyone updated.

I like it when Jack prays in Hebrew -- as I told him, it removes the need for a translator.
And to amplify on Bill H's comments, I think that "He who dies with the most people on his prayer list, wins."
