A Radio Man and His Presidents

Dana Mathewson

Some of you may have watched the wonderful tributes to Rush Limbaugh on Fox News yesterday. One may wish that Rush had been able to see these while he was still alive.

There are many articles still being written, and more will be. Here's a thoughtful analysis of his influence in City Journal, that discusses how, from George H.W. Bush to Donald Trump, presidents have not been able to ignore him. Rather than excerpt it, I will just give you the entire link. It's not a very long article but it's worth your time to read it all.

3 Rush Limbaugh's passing couldn't come at a worse time for America. He was truly one of a kind.

4 How will we get through another election without him? Mark Levin, Hannity, and the others will just have to take up the slack as best they can.

5 I fear Hannity and Levin and the others just aren't cut from the same cloth. They'll do what they can, but Rush was the magnetic north of the Conservative movement.

Jack and I both had grievances with him, granted. He "borrowed" from the Aviary without attribution on a couple of occasions, and his staff was rather dismissive of Jack when Rush read one of Jack's American Thinker articles on his program. Be that as it may, he was still a titan in the field and did a lot of good. His passing will cost us dearly.
