A Nazi in Maine Senate Race

Timothy Birdnow

So who are the Nazis? This guy isn't MAGA.

Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner Covered Tattoo Resembled Nazi Symbol

Notice how this ABC artcle tries desperately to call it a "skull and crossbones" tattoo when in fact it is the same tattoo sported by concentration camp guards in Nazi Germany and by the SS.

And Platner says it represented "who I thought I was" when he was a soldier, but what is the skull and crossbones? It is a symbol of death and of piracy. So he saw himself as a murderous pirate, did he?

This IS a big deal because it speaks to his inner beliefs and thoughts. And were this a Republican the media would be blowing a head-gasket about now. But this is largely being yawned at by them.

Platner states:

"I have lived a life dedicated to antifascism, antiracism and anti-Nazism. I think that racism and antisemitism are a long scourge on our society and a long scourge on our politics. I think it has no place in our world. For that reason, I have gotten it covered up," Platner said in the Instagram video, lifting his shirt to reveal his new design of a Celtic knot with dogs -- "because my wife Amy and I have two wonderful dogs that we love a lot."

"This far more represents who I am now, than even the skull and crossbones did, which I thought that it was," he said.

"This has come up because the establishment is trying to throw everything it can at me. It is terrified of what we are trying to build here,” he continued.

"The Establishment" is making stuff up? I hate to tell him but he and his ilk ARE the Establishment, or near enough anyway.

An I doubt he knows what Fascism is, or Naziism either. As for anti-semitism, that has been a part of the movement he largely champions for some time now.

Platner was endorsed by Bernie Sanders and has been found to have called himself a Communist online, as well as promoted violence and open rebellion.

But, like, he said he was sorry so that makes it all better.

One wonders where all these Communists are coming from, and how such a dude could be a Marine in the first place.

1 Was the guy in question a Yale graduate? Yale has a club called "Skull and Bones," which has been around for many years, and its symbol is a skull and crossbones.

2 True, Bill, but the Yale club's insignia isn't the same as the Nazi death's-head that was used by the SS. Yale's club was, and I believe still is, an honorable organization. As you know, the first President Bush was a member of the Yale club, and I've never heard anybody accuse him of having been a Nazi.

3 So was W. Bush Dana. And John Kerry, who pretended not to know Bush but who was there at about the same time and so had to know him.

Bill, I'm not sure if and where he went to college. He says he got the tattoo in Kosovo during the war in Yugoslavia with his marine buddies.

4 John Kerry went to Yale? Are you sure he wasn't pronouncing the word with a Scandinavian accent? Actually, that's where Kerry should have gone and he should still be there...

5 I'm not totally sure that my last comment was crystal clear, so I'll illustrate it with an anecdote, to wit: a woman had locked her keys in her car and was at a loss as to how she was going to get the car open and drive home. A gentleman walked up to her and asked if he could help her. She explained her predicament, and he proceeded to reach into his pocket and pull out a pocket knife, opened a strange-looking blade, inserted it into the lock on the door, wiggled it around a bit until a click was heard. He then pulled the door handle and it opened.

The woman thanked him profusely and asked "Where did you learn how to do that?"

"Yale," he replied.

"Amazing," she said. "What's your name?"

"Yim Yohnson."

Ba-DUM-bum.
