We can always hope that the state GOP keeps up a drumbeat of publicity that'll take down before November, at least enough that the GOP candidate wins at the polls.

And we can hope that Jeff Johnson, with whom I had a nice conversation at a Meet-The-Candidates evening a few months back and who beat the other Republican contenders, including former Gov. Tim Pawlenty, will prevail over DFL winner Tim Walz, who is considered (at least by those on our side) to be a real snake.
