Here is a great essay on why the Left loves Muhammed.
The author argues:
"Islam is different. It stands for something. And here’s what’s really great about what it stands for: It stands for a lot of the things leftists love.
My cousin, who converted from being a Jewish atheist to Christianity, and then became a pastor, spent decades working in the Virginia prison system. Many years ago, he wrote an email to me that stated something very profound about how common it was for prisoners to convert to Islam. What’s significant is that they didn’t do so because they felt remorse for their crimes, repented, and sought redemption. Instead, something very different was going on:
It is not a contradiction to be a Muslim and a murderer, even a mass murderer. That is one reason why criminals "convert” to Islam in prison. They don’t convert at all; they simply remain the angry, judgmental, vicious beings they always have been. They simply add "religious” diatribes to their personal invective. Islam does not inspire a crisis of conscience, just inspirations to outrage.
And there it is: The "spiritual” nexus between Islam and socialism.
For socialists, Islam is everything they want, plus it answers the big questions: Why am I here?
To serve Allah.
Why shouldn’t I murder, rob, cheat, assault, sleep with my sister, etc.?
You’re free to do so, as long as it benefits Islam.
And then there’s the kicker: What happens at the end?
It’s not the end. You ascend to Paradise. If you’ve been a soldier for the cause, you get a wonderful paradise, plus endless sex with 72 women, a good sales pitch for leftist men.
If you’re a regular guy, you get to live in a wonderful paradise, complete with sex with your "purified” spouses, something that will work for leftist men.
As for women, they get to be young, free of negative emotions, material goods, and surrounded by friends and family…but no sex. For leftist women, riddled with angry emotions and utterly degraded and demoralized by hook-up culture, this may actually end up sounding very good."
I remember reading eighth and nineth century Christian thinkers discussing Islam and it's meteoric rise and this author is correct. These thinkers all said the same thing - Islam appeals to the carnal nature of Man, offers the indulgence of the flesh over the spirit. It is not spiritual except in the academic sense; it is more justification for self-indulgence.
Islam turns our moral failings into "service of Allah". Fighting and warfare are not things we do because we must but become "Holy War" aka Jihad, and thus given the impramateur of God Himself. So those who are violent and enjoy the other fruits of warfare - raping women, destroying things, stealing children, stealing "the enemy's" goods, are freed from moral blame as this is in the service of the Kingdom of Allah. Sex in Islam is the easiest thing imaginable; a man may have four wives (who have a legal share in his estate) but an unlimited number of concubines, meaning he can ball any woman he pleases. And it is particularly incumbent upon him to take the infidel women as part of the campaign to terrorize and ultimately dominate t he kaffirs. So deviant sex and even violent rape are not just excused but celebtated. You are no longer a scumbag abuser of women but rather God's anointed warrior!
Islam allows, nay encourages you to lie, to cheat, to steal, to break oaths and treaties, to oppress women, to rape women and even male children, to betray your benefactors and people who see you as friends, etc.
While I am not saying all Muslims are such monsters (most are just normal people who have been raised Muslim and whose parents likely adopted it because of the pressure exerted on them from their Muslim overlords) I am saying many are and that is because, in the end, Islam makes it so.
(I have to ask; why does Allah require his followers to impose justice on the world? Is he so weak he has to have human beings do it for him? Christianity is quite the opposite; God imposes justice, humans bring word of mercy in the hopes that their neighbors freely choose to serve God. A world of difference, even if on occasion Christians haven't followed their faith.)
But judgmentalism and imposing "justice" which is an excuse for imposing your own will, is quite attractive to Muslims and to Leftists alike. It plays to a very flawed human lust for power and a sadistic desire to abuse those perceived as enemies.
Islam has been described as "Judaism without the Jews" and the characteristics the Left claims to so loath about Jews is prevalaint in Islam in spades. But in true Pharisidic fashion the Left admires Islam and loathes Judaism. The Jews were important to Judaism because they were chosen by God to fulfill a purpose - a purpose of missionarizing without forcing. Islam has the purpose of reproducing too but by hook or by crook. The moral code of the Jews constrains them - the moral code of Islam empowers them.. No Jew ever cut off the head of a non-believer out of a sense of "justice". On the contrary the Jew will generally forgive those who do suc h barbaric acts - as do Christians. And Jews do not proselytize; they rather discourage conversions. They are chosen not to convert people to Judaism but to evangelize the worship of God by example. You don't have to be a Jew to worship God - you DO have to be a Muslim to propertly worship Allah. They will tolerate you if you pay them tribute (just like a Mafia Don) but only up to a point. Eventually they will get back to you about your lack of faith.
At Any rate the Islam/Leftist alliance has many facets. I wrote about some of them in an essay at American Thinker some years back.
Oh, there are a number of similarities between Islam and Leftism. For instance, the first thing the Muslims did when conquering a nation was issuing an order forgiving all debt, public and private. This was very popular with the poor and working classes and many became Muslims as a result. That this was theft seemed immateriall to the Muslims, and nothing good comes of a crime. They also imposed a lot of new taxes (something near and dear to the Left). They thought to change times and laws just as liberals do. And they were (and remain) universalists; the whole world must be subjugated by Islam, just as it must be subjugated by leftism. And I have already discussed the sexual mores. There is a reason why, even though Islam forbids homosexuality, they allow the rape of young boys by Muslim men as in the "dancing boys" of Afghanistan. Also, Islam frowned upon alcohol (although they wink at it) but not harder drugs. Smoking hashish was fine to the Muslims but having wine with dinner not so much. That is EXACTLY like modern liberals, who promote legalizing marijuana and even hard narcotics while waging war against beer and wine.
So why the similarities? I would argue both come from the same father and he ain't God. They are brothers in the service of the adversary.
Or, if you prefer to take religion out of it, they are in the service of the same sort of system and their enemies are the same. Both hate Christianity and Judaism. Both hate free societies. Both hate seperartion of church and state. Both want to empower a strong central government to coerce people into believing what they themselves hold true. It matters not who they are - Muslims, Communists, Socialists (including Nazis and Fascists), etc. the program is always the same. And, as the old Arab proverb says, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
And all of them feel the path to paradise, a long-lost paradise, is blocked by the superstitious, primitive, and judgmental Christians and their Jewish allies.
Broad and easy is the path to eternal damnation.

Re-Reconquista

Its existence has always made a mockery of Spanish claims that the British rule of Gibraltar is inherently unjust.
It has a population of 84,000.
60,000 young men from Morrocco and Africa have stormed the place in just 24 hours. 18 people have died already. The scenes of these men swarming the shore are incredible, like Camp of the Saints territory.
This comes after the Spanish Socialist government approved legal residency in Spain for 1.1 million undocumented migrants.
Africa saw what the Spanish government did. The 60,000 strong invasion of Cueta immediately followed.
Remember this is 60,000 in ONE DAY.
Britain has just given concessions to Spain regarding Gibraltar. There is ‘frictionless travel’ over the land border between Spain and Gibraltar with border infrastructure removed.
Nice timing.

Spain by the way is an even more glaring example of a Suicide Nation than Britain.
1.12 fertility rate meaning decline of the Spanish population.
90% of new jobs go to immigrants.
10 million foreign born residents in a population of 49 million. 20% of people in Spain are already born elsewhere.
And leftist ideology has them more worried about Gaza and more busy hating Israel than capable of noticing their own destruction or caring about that.

That leftist woman who nearly destroyed Cracker Barrell is going to receive $4.6 million in a golden parachute of profit for severance as a result of her nearly ruining the brand.
I just can't figure out how the corporate world works. This woman likely should have been a shift manager at one of the restaurants and instead became CEO.
Now a very rich ex-CEO.
Julie Masino will probably move on to some other company to ruin it as well.
I just can't figure it out. How do I get a job like that?

This article maddenly uses the term "partner" which is liberal speak. In fact it's his common-law wife (even if Maine doesn't formally recognize that) or live-in girlfriend if you prefer.
From the article:
The Maine Wire reported that Jackson, the former Maine Senate president tapped last week to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins, and his longtime partner are related by blood. The outlet said the two are second cousins and have two children together.
Robinson identified the partner as Lana Pelletier. He reported that she and Jackson share a set of great-grandparents, citing genealogical records. Both are from Allagash, a small town in Aroostook County. The two have never legally married, and Maine does not recognize common-law marriage.
The relationship could carry consequences for how Jackson reports his finances. Under Senate rules, candidates and members must file detailed disclosures covering their own income, assets, and liabilities, along with those of a spouse. Because Jackson and Pelletier never wed, it is not clear whether his disclosures would have to account for her finances the way Collins’ filings account for her husband.
I don't know about the financial disclosure matter, but this is still just a bit creepy. Imagine if this were a Republican candidate; the jokes would be coming fast and furious on all of the late-night comedy shows.
And a man who puts it to his own family is a man who will put it to the voters.

Peace with Hamas? Ri-ight!

Trump still hasn't learned; you can't make deals with Hamas or Hizbollah or Iran.
How are we going to get all their weapons? They have miles and miles of underground tunnels full of weapons cache's and they might hand over some, and then Israel will stop, and they will regroup and do it all over again. As long as Hamas is still standing they will try to destroy Israel.
Mr. Trump and most of the Western World fail to understand the doctrine of taqiyyah in Islam, Holy lying. It is acceptable to lie to an infidel, to break oaths, to wage war by stabbing in the back.
Unless Israel were to kill every single Hamas member, and a host of non-Hamas along with them, the problem itself won't go away. But by destroying Hamas they will find it quite difficult to wage war and the populace of Palestine may eventually decide it's better to make peace with Israel and live a reasonable life than to wage endless war against her and live in squalor, hunger, and die by violence.
In war a people must FEEL beaten, not just BE beaten. If they still think they can win the fight will continue. Making a deal with Hamas will only kick the can down the road.
The only way to deal with the more religious and radical Muslims is to defeat and destroy them to a point where they doubt their ability to continue to fight. After the Crusaders took the Holy Back back from the Turks there was a hundred years of relative peace in the region because the Muslims thought Allah had abandoned them and they feared attacking the Crusader kingdoms. But they slowly regained their confidence as they made advances and defeated Christian kingdoms. Within two centuries of the First Crusade Jerusalem fell - the final domino. But it took the Muslims that long to take the land not because they were up against superior forces but because the Christians militaries had crushed them at the very beginning (and sadly the Christians forgot the lesson and stopped fighting to keep the small kingdoms in tact.)
Islam has to be forced to retreat. It is like kudzu, an invasive species that grows over everything if it isn't aggressively pruned.
Trump should know that by now.

Yes, Inflation is a Monetary Problem, not a Supply Problem

American Thinker really laid an egg with this one.
Here we have an economist making the Keynsian argument that inflation is not caused by an increase in the money supply.
The author tries to blame inflation in the seventies on the oil embargo leading to oil price shock and driving up inflation. Inflation is NOT merely rising prices from a temporary market fluctuation but a systemic growth in prices across the board and in no way can this "economist" make this case.
He argues:
"I never dreamed that my fellow economists would lock themselves into the groupthink that the money supply is the cause of inflation. It is not. A woman does not offer $4 for bread when the price is $3 simply because the money supply is large, or because the government spends too much. If there is a shortage of bread, she might offer more."
Shortages are caused primarily by demand outstripping supply and the prices not being allowed to rise - as we saw with wage and price controls.
A woman doesn't CHOOSE to spend more on a loaf of bread - she does because the price has gone up and she has to pay it or do without. Duh.
The price goes up because the value of a dollar has gone down and if she's paying four bucks for a three dollar loaf of bread it means the value of a dollar dropped 25% since there are now more dollars in the system.
In inflationary periods wages rise too but usually not as fast as inflation by and large. But they often can keep up, which is why inflation is so attractive to politicians - a stealth tax which is hidden and which can be blamed unjustly on corporations.
Here is a graph that clearly shows the rise in the money supply during the seventies tracking almost perfectly with the rise in inflation. It's not just the m2 supply of money but also the amount of economic growth (which high inflation eventually kills) and the national debt to GDP. The Federal Reserve often uses inflation of the money supply to stimulate growth. But then, being Keynsians, they then obsess over "overheating" the economy and often pull back on it.
The point is the money supply is the predominant driver of inflation no matter how many degrees this author possesses.
We saw this during the Biden years; Bidenflation was a result of the Federal Reserve printing a lot of money to cover the cost of Covid and Biden's reckless spending. Nothing more.
Inflation spiked because of the gargantuan spending over the last twenty years. Obama spent huge amounts, then Trump with Covid, then Biden with even larger spending over Covid. Inflation was sure to follow; the Federal Reserve increased the money supply by gargatntuan amounts. See a graph of it here. It was at this very time inflation exploded. This chart shows M1. M2 grew at a rate of 26.9% in 2021 and only stopped growing as the election loomed in late 2023. See more here.
To further prove this author is a bit dim, he says this:
"Inflation is caused by the increased cost or shortage of usable goods. The main drivers of inflation are taxes and rising oil prices."
If that is so every time the tariff has been raised it should have resulted in inflation. Yet a walk down memory lane shows no such thing ever happened when tariffs were raised (and almost every President has done so at some point in their Presidency).
Again,, there is a difference between a temporary or specific price spike and inflation, something this fellow seems to not understand.
Yes, taxes can raise prices and yes, oil is certainly a systemic cost and drives up the costs of goods at times. But it is not the core cause of inflation. IF that were true then we should not have seen inflation rising steadily through the last twenty years when oil prices were fairly static.
In most cases oil prices climb AFTER inflation increases. For example, oil prices reached a record high in June of 2008, after the mortgage meltdown. In 2007 inflation was 4.1% by 2009 it was 2.70% so it declined despite a major oil price spike in 2008 (and 2008 saw practically no inflation at 0.10%). How can ths be if oil prices are the key to inflation? Inflation dropped under Obama while oil prices were rising.
A number of factors decide when prices rise - for instance the "velocity rate" aka how fast the money is moving, and the total economic growth. But in the end you can't cheat the reaper and an increase in the money supply can delay inflation but not stop it.
Oh, by the way, we've been lied to about the inflation rates for decades now. Why do we have an "affordability crisis" now when inflation is officially pretty low?

New Jersey is going to fight tooth-and-nail to stop the federal government from digging into the vote fraud they allowed in the blue state of confusion.
Now, why is it so important to them to keep peple from knowing what happened here? Anybody?
By the way, this isn't a matter of federalism but involves the Interstate Commerce Clause; rigged elections impact New Jersey's interactions with the rest of the country and have an impact on the course of the whole nation.

Water, Water Everywhere

I cannot fathom why on God's green Earth you would network a water treatment system.
We did just fine in the old days where you pumped water into a treatment plant and then pumped it out. Why put that on the internet?
I'm not an engineer and maybe there is a good reason to do that but I see little value in it. But this shows there is great vulnerability.
I find it interesting it happened in Minnesota too, the home of the resistance movement and host to all the Somali and other Islamists.
At any rate this happened in a number of communities in the area and from what many experts have said it looks to likely be an Iranian attack, to sow chaos in America.
That is a sign of desperation, that they are wasting valuable time and resources to shut down water plants temporarily.
This should be a cautionary tale for us about networking everything. If water systems can be hacked why not voting machines? Why not hospital services? How about getting violent criminals released from prison early? We put all our eggs in one basket and then are surprised when we drop the basket and they are all broken.
I have no idea of how automated the water system is, but can you imagine if they had finessed this a bit more, say, shut down the computer algorithm that chlorinated the water, or did other preservation techniques, so the public was drinking contaminated sewer water (plenty of that in the state capital).
Computer technology and AI have and are remaking the world. The worrisome thin is that we seem to be losing control of what they are remaking the world into.

While I generally don't like using someone's livelihood against them offering free beer if and when the President of the United States is assassinated is accessory to a crime and this guy actually should be brought up on charges. He is offering something of value for a crime.
At any rate this shutdown is not because of his offer of free beer to anyone should Mr. Trump being "86ed".
The Sentinel reported that state regulators pursued revoking Bangstad's alcohol license after authorities seized canned beer from his company in June, alleging it had been transported from Illinois without the required permits and taxes. The newspaper also reported that Bangstad criticized the proposed action as an excessive response, arguing the alleged tax violations did not warrant shutting down his business.

And while this a-hole never specifically mentioned Trump by name he was clearly speaking of Mr. Trump:
Following the April shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner where Trump was present, the company wrote on Facebook, "Well, we almost got #freebeerday."
"Either a brother or sister in the Resistance needs to work on their marksmanship or he faked another assassination to get a positive news cycle," the post added. "We’ll never know. Regardless, we stand at the ready to pour free beer the day it happens."

Imagine if Conservatives had offered free beer if Joe Biden had been assassinated; the howl would have been heard in Tristan da Cunha. The brewer would have had to go into hiding - if he didn't wind up in prison.
The Left wants to threaten and abuse those with whom they disagree but demand the protection of the law when they face consequences. They are the most noxious form of bullies - the kind who hide behind the teacher for protection when their victims strike back They are cowards. But they get away with it.
Hopefully this guy will lose his shirt. Maybe then he'll see that he is his own worst enemy.

It is an understatement to say we are living in evil times. Some people correctly point out that the age we live in is the least violent of any age. But violence and evil are two different things, and the emerging evil will lead to an unmatched time of violence, death, destruction, and tyranny.
We see this evil in world politics, in the culture, and in the heart of Man. A growing atheism threatens not only the US, but all of Western Civilization.
Our time of relative peace was made possible by the foundational beliefs and ideas of the Judeo Christian faith, as well as a dominant America, whose military and economic might held back tyrants and their desire to conquer.
But the evil emerging today is greater and more dangerous than at anytime in our history. It is an evil whose path has been paved by the apathy, atheism, and love of material things by many in the West.
With the death of God comes the death of Objective Morality. A pseudo morality emerges that sees tolerance of what is objectively evil as one of the highest virtues we can have. In place of the need for redemption through a surrender and repentance to God, many achieve this need for atonement through a suicidal empathy. So powerful is this need that they will tolerate evil people to the point that they will caress and kiss the hands of those who hold the sword that will slay them.
Father Chad Ripperger, a Catholic priest and well known exorcist, has said that demons know their time is short, which explains the rise in this evil and in cases of demonic oppression and possession. This evil permeates our society.
While technically speaking, this may be, relatively speaking, the least violent time in human history, it is, without a doubt, the most evil time. It threatens not only the Civilization that gave us liberty, and all things beautiful... Art, music, and technology which has drastically improved our lives... It threatens our eternal souls and those of our sons and daughters.
This is a spiritual battle, and many are losing it.
There must be a rejection of this false morality which champions tolerance. Our empathy should be directed towards our own souls and our children, not to those who detest and hate that which we hold dear.
May God help us.

Putting the Cracker Back in Crackerbarrell

Cracker Barrell finally fires that woke woman CEO who attempted to castrate the brand.
Took 'em long enough.
As readers may remember this woman had the absolutely terrible idea o trying to "modernize" the company that made it's fame on nostalgia and great country cooking. The fact that an old white man was their mascot seemed to trigger Ms. Masino, as did the old fashioned decor in the restaurant, which she sought to replace with trash modern.
Any idiot should have seen this was a terrible idea; the very appeal of Cracker Barrell is it is a throwback to a bygone era, a piece of nostalgia. And that included the food, which was good and in large portions.
Under Masino the quality and portion sizes had been dropping like a stone. I remember the old days at CB; I could barely carry my stomach out with me afterward. Last time I ae there I was, well, full but not that much and this while I eat a lot less than I used to. And the food just didn't taste as good; it was clear they had cut the quality of it.
As is typical of liberals she thought the fix was to change the cosmetics. Liberals never can admit it is their core assumptions that are wrong.
I'm not sure about her reasoning but clearly it dovetailed with modern DEI. She seemed to believe a country image with an old white dude mascot (Uncle Hershel) was "racist" and "sexist" and probably "homophobic" and so these symbols of white patriarchal supremacy had to be eliminated to bring CB into the future.
The public rebelled and they showed their displeasure by going to Bob Evans (or Dennys). Yet, in our thoroughly modern fashion, the corporation kept her as CEO despite the obvious failure of her scheme. That is how deeply the tentacles of DEI have penetrated our corporate culture.
So they finally fired this woman and she's only going to be around for a few months to aid the transition. That is unusual and shows the board realized how desperate the situation had become.
Go woke go broke!
While I don't like to see someone lose their livelihood I do think it necessary that people who put their ideology ahead of the company interest (or societal interest) need to be publicly punished to discourage other activists from pulling this.
This woman should never have been at so lofty a position in the first place. But then, I never could figure out how many of the people who end up in such top positions do it. Mostly they are brown-nosing manipulators who climb over the corpses of more capable people. In Dante's Inferno they wil wind up in the pit of flatterers and seducers.

Light Blogging
Dear readers,
The next few days (actually probably the whole week) will be slow; I've got about five doctors appointments and have to meet with my accountant (as the IRS is harassing me again as they like to do every six months or so, and frankly I have been a bit under the weather. So the blog will have to suffer. Sorry. I'll update as much as possible.
Tomorrow is going to be crazy; I've got two doctors in the morning alone.
Doctors seem to multiply like mice; see one or two and the next thing you know they are overruning the place. I now feel like judge in the movie What's Up Doc? who tells his bailiff "you know what this yellow pill is for? It's to remind me to take the blue pill". And I never know what iany of them are doing and so have no idea what "normal" feels like anymore. Side effects are the new normal.
Suffice it to say that I've got a long way to go wherever I'm going.
I've also got bills falling off the kitchen table and I need hours tto work through them all.
I also want to beef a bit about my health insurance. Ive got a Maretplace plan and they denied more physical therapy for my back, which is STILL killing me after several months now. Oh, and they denied an increase in Trulicity, saying I needed to try other drugs first - even though they already approved Trulicity for me and I've been taking it. My doctor just wanted to increase the dosage! The word moron comes to mind.
At any rate I will be slow to no blogging. Please bear with me.

Trump's Plan for Iran

Powerline has an article asking why Trump is piddling around and not launching a series of major strikes on Iran. It's a question I have been pondering myself.
Here are what I think he's doing:
1. He's waiting until we have all the pieces in place as per Centcom, rather than launching before the military feels prepared.
We've had plenty of time to prepare but apparently we haven't and that may tie in with the fluidity of this situation. It may also tie in with our allies; we'll need the bases in Europe and we'll need the backing of a lot of the arab states. Talk is cheap and buys us time to make preparations. You don't go off half-cocked in war.
2. Saul Alinski, the commie "community organizer" the left is so fond of and who inspired Hillary Clinton and who Barack Obama actually worked for, once said "fear of a thing is worse than the thing itself" and so it may be Trump is trying to keep Iran in dread. Once you hit them hard they can say "that wasn't as bad as we feared". NOT hitting them makes them sweat. It's the way Trump negotiates and he may be right on this (assuming this is part of his calculations).
3. When I was in school studying the Russian revolution we discussed revolutions in general and they never happen when times are at their worst. WWII was a prime time for a rebellion against the Bolsheviks but it didn't happen. People rebel when times are getting better or are o.k but expectations are rising and are then disappointed.
When times are hard the People accept deprivation and suffering in the interest of their country. But when times are fair enough they get "spoiled" and want more. It is then that any government is facing peril. (It's why the U.S. has seen rising radicalism at a time of immense prosperity.) When expectations rise - particularly for greater political freedom - and are dashed then we have a problem. Or they do, I should say.
4. Revolutions come not when one side has power taken from them but when there is a power gap. Everyone scrambles to fill the vacuum and if you are lucky good people step up and take the country back. Most times bad people win because they are ruthless enough to wipe out the good people. But not always. If Mr. Trump is counting on an Iranian revolution he will need time - to arm and train rebels, to move supplies and set up proper intelligence. He's already decimated the leadership of Itan and there is now a power vacuum. It's been filled largely by the IRGC but their grasp on power is probably rather tenuous and there no doubt is fighting within the ranks as different factions try to seize power. (This is much like what happened before the Bolshevik coup in October of 1917. In May the Tsar was overthrown and a coalition government of leftists took power. The parties involved included the Social Revolutionaries (S.R.'s), the Kadets, the Mensheviks. The Bolsheviks were largely left out because, well, everyone knew they were crazy. But when it appeared Moscow was going to be overrun the government of Alexander Kerensky ordered guns be given to the populace, and when the crisis was averted they asked for them back but the Bolsheviks kept them and used them in the October revolution to seize power. See, there was largely a power vacuum in the provisional government, with all groups fighting for control. The Bolsheviks - the most disciplined and ruthless group - won.
That's how these things usually go; the French revolution went much the same (the American revolution was not really a political revolution at all but a secession from Britain; the same governments run by the same people were all still in place). Still, that's not ALWAYS the case an if the all the radicals fall out and begin fighting each-other then perhaps the Iranian People can topple the regime. What follows certainly can't be any worse than what is currently in power.
If Trump is trying to foment a revolution it may well be he's been arming the Iranian People all along, and organizing networks for command and control, and doing other such things. Trump is not as artless and stupid as was George W. Bush, the kind of guy who would use a hammer to fix his iPhone.
Ronald Reagan did this and he drove the Sandanistas out of Nicaragua (until 2006, under the hapless Bush's watch). He also helped finish the Communists in El Salvador which is now run by some pretty good people. The only direct military intervention Reagan had to make was in Grenada, where he had to send Marines in to rescue trapped American students. Of course Grenada was easy pickings.
Reagan created and funded the Contras to drive Daniel Ortega and the Sandanistas out of power in Nicaragua. I wonder if Mr. Trump isn't working towards that very thing as we speak.
5. The obvious; as the clock keeps ticking and we keep Iran from selling oil and gas their funding dries up. Trump keeps backing off of this in order to keep the Iranians from having to permanently close a lot of their oil wells, but he's keeping his foot on their necks. This keeps raising and then dashing expectations in Iran, but it also keeps their economy just barely creaking along. Trump doesn't want to lose the support of the populace there. Hit Iran too hard, squeeze it into lifelessness, and the public grows angry with America and throws their support behind the Mullahs.
6. He needs to maneuver China into backing the war, or at least staying neutral. Thus far he's been successful. I suspect the reason we are getting a lot of leaks and old stories about Chinese interference in American affairs, be it their breaching 220 million voters data or other election tampering, or what I just posted about Chinese scientists working in America smuggling in dangerous pathogens (reader Bill first noted this) it's designed to send a warning shot over the bow of the good ship Cathay. This makes the propaganda war more difficult for China, puts them back on their heels. So we are squeezing China economically but need to keep them neutral - it's a big trick. I suspect Mr. Trump understands all this.
China cannot feel free to invade Taiwan, say, or pull some other dirty trick while we are fighting Iran.
These, I think, are the main reasons for Trump's seemingly inexplicable behavior towards Iran in this war. I suspect he has a plan.
I would add Sun Tzu cautioned against tepid invasions of an enemy "shallow penetration leads to dispersion". Trump has read his Sun Tzu. He knows better than to send American troops on the ground in tentatively. He will want to use air power and maybe take some of the Persian Gulf islands, but I doubt much more than that - unless he's got a strong resistance movement ready to act for him/us.
So what are the negatives? Obviously the political climate in America. If we are at war on election day we may lose one or both bodies of Congress and that would be a disaster. Lose them both and Trump will be tied up with impeachment articles and enactments of the War Powers Act.
This is exactly what the Iranians are counting on and it is a real danger. Even losing one branch of Congress will mean endless investigations which will hamper Trump's ability to act. And of course there will be no money to prosecute this war. While spending ORIGINATES in the House the Senate still signs on with House spending bills via reconciliation. And that only requires a simple majority to win or lose.
Americans hate long, protracted wars, and especially hate this as many voted for Trump to put an end to "endless wars". But the only way you can do that responsibly is to win a few. WE may want to stay out of it but our enemies have no intention of letting us. Sometimes you just have to fight.
War with Iran was inevitable, ever since 1979 when they seized our embassy and Carter did nothing about it. We've kicked the can as far down the road as we could. Another kick would only result in a smoking crater where Tel Aviv now stands - with New York City right behind. (Now, if they'd do us the favor of eliminating Washington D.C. that would be another matter...)
And it's not just nuclear weapons they are working on. Iran has a robust biological weapons program and chemical weapons too. The chemical weapons are evil but limited - biological weapons are true weapons of mass destruction.
We are going to have to fight Iran at some point. Mr. Trump decided to do what a real leader does and confront the problem head on.
But it's a big gamble, especially fighting the media and Democrats and RINO Republicans and Euroweenies all at the same time.
The fate of America is truly tied up with this. Let us pray Mr. Trump has made and will continue to make the right choices.

Tucker Carlson continues his descent into madness. I don't know if he is taking any psychotic medication but he needs to up his dosage if he is, and if not needs to start on some right away.
Mother Tucker wants Nuremberg trials for Donald Trump and the GOP in Congress for accepting information sharing from Israel.
Somehow in his deluded mind this is treason.
Someone needs to check Carlson's home for toxic substances. Either that or he's taking some rather colorful stuff popular in the sixties.
