Facebook is the villain and we all finally know it

Dana Mathewson

The real meat of this article is a ways down in, and it's a long article -- and it gets pretty technical. Suffice to say that Facebunk and the others really ought to have the gummint whack them down a few pegs.

From the article:

"Despite repeatedly denying that Facebook sells its users’ data, the company emails released this week show that in fact it effectively did – that it leveraged our data to reward developers who spent a lot of money on the platform, and ice out its competitors, all the while making sure we, the users, never found out.

And let’s not kid ourselves that it’s just Facebook doing this. Five of the most valuable companies in the world today – Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft and Google's parent company Alphabet – have all commodified our data and used it to take over their respective sectors.

What’s equally unsettling is our government’s response. The questions that senators asked Zuckerberg during his April hearing clearly showed how little they understand about the basic workings of his company. The government has had at least 10 years to get on top of big tech companies’ exploding growth and power, but so far they’ve been allowed to act with free rein."

End excerpt.

David Dickinson adds:

And for the icing on that Facebook/Big Tech cake, here's Klavan's observations about some of the things that Apple's Tim Cook said this week, a speech that would (or should) frighten even those who normally pay little attention.

KLAVAN: Mac-Fascism

Dana Mathewson replies:

So, Cookie thinks "his" platform should be a censor. Why, does that mean he can censor what somebody puts up there with their iPhone, or just what somebody can read with their iPhone? And Galaxy users have totally free rein? Inquiring minds want to know. Meanwhile, Martha invoked some censorship and canceled her Fakebunk membership.

Jack Kemp adds:

This is the same Tim Cook, an out of the closet gay, who trades with Saudi Arabia - a country that throws gays off of roofs or stones them to death. As long as Tim C. makes his money, he could care less what happens to fellow gays in Arab countries that have money to buy Apple systems.

Dana replies:

Yes, that too. In fact, I've never figures out why American gay liberals are so fond of Muslims, especially Palestinians. There certainly is a cognitive disconnect there.

No disconnect at all.  Gays and their allied groups all know who is their real enemy in the US, heterosexual "normal" white men, and will use any tool at their disposal to end us, while believing the state will keep these tools like Muslims under sufficient control that the casualties they take are minimal, like the Orlando nightclub (although in that case the authorities did a Columbine and maximized causalities in that particular event).  See that Congressman who explicitly put nukes into play if we refuse to surrender our guns to the government his side has near total control of.  And when it comes to gun control, total control, seeing as how Trump has revealed he's still a gun grabber, something that all by itself is entirely capable of costing him reelection.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend" the old Arab proverb states.   It's true enough, and especially in this instance. Short sighted, but true.
