Iran Bragged About Having 11 Nuclear Devices
Timothy Birdnow
I have no doubt this is so. Iran has long had the bomb, in my opinion. They just haven't done a physical test of it.
[link]https://nypost.com/2026/03/03/us-news/iran-claimed-to-have-enough-uranium-for-11-nuclear-bombs-during-geneva-talks-us-envoy-witkoff-says/]Iran Claimed to have Enough Uranium for 11 Nuclear Bombs During Geneva Talks: U.S. Envoy Witkoff Says
Iran has been working on this for years, and they had the infrastructure. The enrichment process IS the nuclear program, I might add.
What Iran has been doing is waiting to roll this out for a time when they have the other things they need - mainly, a proper delivery system we can't take out. They have been experimenting with implosion devices which is far more complicated than the Hiroshima-style gun detonator. But it reduces the weight considerably and gives more bang for the buck.
I would add Iran is very good with computer technology and the U.S. tests nukes on computers, not with underground or air burst detonations. Iran may well do the same.
They have been stalling for time until they have themselves in a position where we can't take the whole program out. That was and remains the goal of the regime there.
So we are not out of the woods. Iran could well find a way to deliver a nuke against us somehow, or against "The Little Satan".
OH, and while we are at it, let me remind everyone that the Department of Homeland Security is STILL not funded by the Democrats, this while we are at war with a nation that has made terrorism an art form. If we get hit by Iran in some terrorist attack it will be blood on THEIR hands! Is New York City, or L.A. worth Trump Derangement Syndrome? It could well come down to that.

You noticed that most, if not all, of the Democrats acted as if Iran has never posed a threat to us. Well, Duh!

Hitlers end plan was to totally flatten Germany because the German people let him down. My fear is that the IRGC will do to Iran what Hitler had wanted for Germany using their small nuclear cache.

Yeah Dana; the cognitive dissonance is astonishing. So too the hypocrisy. There was a time when politics ended at the water's edge, but the Democrats effectively killed that during the Iraq war. Vietnam was the precursor to that too.
I would add they are fairly desperate about this because they know if Trump succeeds they will lose. So they are trying to make America fail overseas. That meets the definition of treason.
They just might Mike. They are still waiting for that guy to climb up out of the well and bring an end to history and if it takes blowing up all the oil reserves and maybe using those 11 nukes on their own people, well that's a price they are willing to pa

Retirement Mania in Congress
Timothy Birdnow
31 Republicans are not seeking re-election to Congress while 21 Democrars are doing likewise.
This makes it more difficult for Republicans to retain control of the House in particular.
Why are so many leaving? Because, thanks to DOGE and the digging being done by the FBI and Trump allies I suspect a lot of Republicans (and of course Democrats) no longer find "government service" attractive; the fringe benefits are drying up, the girls can't be had as easily without fear of exposure, the dirty back room deals are coming to light. Who wants to work in an environment where you actually have to do something and face stiff opposition? The gravy train is ending.
But of course this isn't a normal election and there is reason for optimism - and concern. We really don't know how this will play out. It depends on having good candidates and having enough money. Trump has disrupted the Democrat money machine in a fundamental way. He's also exposed the fraud machines the Democrats use, and exposed illegal alien voting. The dirty tricks employed by the Donks may not work this time.
It's going to be a wild ride; buckle up!

A good start!
And while these particular leeches will no doubt continue to vote Democrat they won't continue to donate Democrat, at least not at the levels they had been.
Has anyone noticed any decline in services as a result of a third of a million layoffs? Didn't think so.

Butt Muncho Killing the World Cup
Timothy Birdnow
40% of ticketholders to the World Cup in Mexico have canceled as a result of the whole Butt Muncho affair.
I'll be honest; I really don't care that much about this story except I soooo wnted to use the phrase "Butt Muncho".
At any rate anyone stupid enough to go to Mexico now probably shouldn't be there in the first place. It's what happens when you have what amounts to a civil war going on between the Cartels - who are basically running their own countries inside Mexico - and the government there, a socialist government, I might add.

Interesting. Look at all of the once popular places to visit that are now embroiled in war and too dangerous to travel to. Mexico, Ecuador, Venezeula, Panama, anywhere in North Africa, India, Pakistan... Longest list in my lifetime, which is not a short one.

Crockett, Crenshaw Creamed, Cornyn Collapsing
Timothy Birdnow
Jasmine Crockett went off like a rocket - but she barely got off the launch pad.
The crazy Congresssista got soundly beaten by her equally crazy but less obnoxious opponent Rep. James Talarico, a largely unknown state rep who ran against her in the U.S. Senate primary for the Democrats. While Crockett isn't out exactly she now has to run in a competitive district and will probably lose her House seat as well as the Senate.
At any rate it's kind of sad as Crockett had no chance of becoming Senator; she is only popular in her home district.
In other news John Cornyn, despite spending gargantuan sums of money, is forced into a runoff with Texas AG Ken Paxton.
And in a final bit of good news RINO Republican House member Dan "Melonhead" Crenshaw lost his party's nomination for the House of Representatives after Donald Trump refused to endorse the so-called "Eyepatch McCain". Crenshaw was notorious for siding with Democrats in many clear-cut instances over Trump and his own party caucus. Go woke go choke Dan!
All in all it was a pretty good night.
A very good night, I might add: Al Green, the obnoxious cane-pointing jerk who was twice expelled from Trump's addresses to Congress and who sought to impeach the President
lost his seat, losing to his Democratic challenger.

Tallerico IS a real baddie Dana and when Texans realize it they will reject him soundly, methinks.
Karl Rove, the man who never found a cause worth fighting for, was all worried about this election because he says Cornyn would win handily but Paxton would lose - in his view. He was slobbering about how Paxton "has too much baggage" and how George Soros would go after him. Well whose fault is that? It's guys like Karl Rove who never went to bat for Conservatives but have always been quick to stan with the "moderate" RINO wing.
I despise Karl Rove. He's what has been killing America for thirty years - cowards who want to play nice.

A Twentieth Century Man in the Wrong Time
Timothhy Birdnow
In many ways I loathe the modern world. Here is a prime example of why.
My CPAP machine was on it's last legs. While I need the darned thing since I have a serious heart condition and obstructive sleep apnea is very hard on your heart I've never enjoyed it because it takes forever to fall asleep with it on since it forces all manner of fluids out of my sinuses and into my throat. The end result is coughing for about an hour before I finally fall asleep.
But I can live with that; I love the machine because I sleep better once I do fall asleep and I seep deeper and longer.
So naturally the makers of CPAP machines have to go and redisgn the darned things.
My new machine is sleeker and smaller and that's a good thing, you would think. But it does not have a sim card to record data for my doctor; instead it has a wireless connection that broadcasts in real time.
And you rent the machine for one year and then you own it. BUT if you are non-compliant in using it the insurance company stops paying for it and you have to shell out the entire cost of the machine. What this means is they report your usage, and they watch your usage carefully.
I used my old machine for a couple of days after receiving the new one and some dude from the company called to chastise me. He called and then demanded I verify my date of birth and other such personal items. I told him to go pound sand; I didn't know for sure he was with the company and it could easily have been a phishing expedition, for all I knew. I douut it was; he was just trying to find out why I wasn't using the machine.
The point is, it's nobody's business if I am using it or not. It's the way they use technology to seduce us to allow our privacy to be invaded. This is the way it always starts; with a nanny system where everyone is in your business. Eventually what started as a convenience becomes a necessity and then is mandatory. Before you know it you've lost your fundamental freedom.
I know; people will say "it's just one little thing" but like water it's just one little drop until you have a flood.
When I got my first CPAP there was nothing like this. They did not hold the threat of non-payment over your head, and spy on you to make sure you comply with their rules. They paid for it and it was between you and your doctor. But now technology is allowing the insurance company to babysit you lest "their" investment be wasted. How long before the government steps in and makes it a criminal matter to fail to use your CPAP and thus wasting insurance company dollars - or Medicare money?
At any rate I resent the whole thing.
But then there's more to this story.
My old CPAP had a reservoir that could last for two days if you were lucky. CPAP's require distilled water to hydrate your sinuses. I mean, the thing is basically a compressor blowing air up your nose and that dries your sinuses out. So what did they do? This machine has a smaller reservoir to keep with the cool, sleek look, and it only lasts a little over half the night. Six hours tops. So I keep waking in the night with burning in my nose and nasal cavity. I start sneezing my head off. If I don't get up and refill the stupid thing I won't get back to sleep.
In fact I thought at first I was getting a cold because I kept sneezing and my sinuses burned and I didn't realize the machine was out of water. Now that I know what it is I have had to get up every night just to service the machine. My old machine required no servicing when I was trying to sleep.
So for aesthetics they made this machine horribly impractical and for what?
That is such a modern thing; to fix something that isn't broke and in the process break it.
So now I have a machine that spies on me and that wakes me in the night demanding I feed it like a cholicy baby.
All I wanted was a simple device. All I ever want with anything is a simple device. I hate all the bells and whistles that you cannot escape any longer. Take my computer (please!) There are all sorts of convenient little things about it, little key shortcuts and the like that I am forever accidentally hitting and causing chaos. I don't need all these aps they put on this machine, nor do I want them. I just want a basic computer that does basic stuff. Modernity won't let you do that; you must become part of the Borg Collective.
Take cell phones. I have a simple flip phone, a Consumer Celllular Iris. It is fine for my needs but I am forever running up against this modern age with it. For example, my doctor wanted me on MyChart and so they set me up for it. The way they did that was to send my phone a web link, something completely useless to me. I tried copying it from the phone into my computer but it didn't work - it was a complicated, lengthy address and I don't see well enough to be able to do that. So I couldn't do what a much simpler task would have allowed. They are making it increasingly impossible to live without a smart phone.
I had a smart phone but my bad eyesight made it impossible to use. By the time I actually answered any call they had hung up; it was too convoluted an answering process. The thing was always dropping calls too. Once I had been trying to get ahold of a doctor for days and then they called and the damnable call dropped! This was a very important call. Enraged I tossed the machine on the couch with too much vigor and it bounced off and landed on the floor, breaking in the process. That was the one and only experiment I did with smart phones; now I use flip phones that cost thirty to forty bucks.
Don't even get me started on my laptop. It only downloads from Microsoft and it is full of pop-up adds that block everything. Oh, and since I have to expand my screen to see the ads are always blocking text. But to get rid of those I have to get an ad blocker and that will have to come from Microsoft or I'll have to take this computer out of s-mode. I did that before and the machine simply "disappeared" my cursor, making it useless. I had to exchange that machine for another.
I warn everyone - this modern technology is like the chain Ebeneazor Scrooge was forging in life. He made it link by link and yard by yard, and in the end it was intended to wrap him forever in Hell. Little by little these technologies have been wrapping us and in the process we are losing our humanity, nay, our salvation itself for the convenience of Grubhub aps or Uber rides.
I am not a luddite and always believed there is a positive role for technology. But now, with AI coming in, and deep fakes everywhere, we are facing a very dangerous point in our history. Technology is about to make our world into something not just unrecognizable but it will take away our freedoms in a manner never before seen.
Let me get religious for a moment; several of the things in the Bible, the prophecies, make perfect sense in light of modern technology.
The Book of Revelations says:
1 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
end
Fire coming down from heaven is an obvious reference to air warfare. But the "image of the Beast"? In times past I thought maybe that meant the dude was on television, but now I think it means he'll us AI in his image to manipulate the public. This sounds very much like AI to me.
And of course the Mark of the Beast can be easily done now and I can see how, with this powerful AI in place, it would be almost a necessity. Computers can now steal identities with ease and with so many people doing e-commerce (in fact it's growing increasingly difficult to use cash for anything) securing identity will become a top priority. How to do that? An implantable chip would make perfect sense; you would use a scanner on your computer or smart phone to prove your identity.
And then they own you.
We are rushing headlong into Armageddon and I see no way to stop this juggernaut. I know that technology can't be stopped; the guy with the greatest tech always wins in the end as history has shown. But we've never dealt with tech like this before and frankly, we worship it. That's what that Bible passage I quoted above means. AI will be the Golden Calf of the whole world.
In the end Jesus will, of course, simply brush all this aside "with the sword of His mouth and the brightness of His coming" in other words with words. Christ's reign will begin not because of His warmaking so much as His speaking the truth. How words will be able to drown out the words of the Beast (which is described as a flooe pouring from his mouth in the Book of Revelations) is beyond me but somehow God knows how to do it.
But I'd rather put the Apocalypse on hold for a while - at least until after I am room temperature (and that doesn't mean I want to have lizard DNA make me into a reptile.) But I find it increasingly hard to not join into the mad rush to the brink of destruction. There is no place for a man who just wants to live simply and be left alone in this modern world.
A pox upon it! I was perfectly comfortable in the twentieth century, and maybe even before.

Is this the only CPAP machine you can get? That reservoir sounds woefully inadequate for a machine whose main goal is to help you get a night's sleep. Can you talk to your doctor about this? That can't be the only machine available.
It was Jacob Marley who "forged his chain link by link, and girded it on of his own free will," as his ghost explained to Scrooge. Just thought I'd set that straight. Doesn't negate your point.

Of course there are other machines Dana, but apparently this is the one th4 insurance company would pay for.
I know it was Marley who said it but Scrooge's chain was larger than Marley's seven Christmases prior and now was a ponderous chain.

Miss Congeniality!
Sadly America has "been done with this" aka her for a long time but somehow we can't get shed of the old bag.
This is what guilty people do, evince faux rage over "mistreatment" when all that is happening is questions are being asked she does not want to answer.
I would add Hillary threw her chancer-ridden husband under the bus hard in her testimony.
She is such a charming woman, is she not? And just think; she could have been President.

Well, frankly, I don't think there was a Chinaman's chance she would have been president (see what I did there?). I do wish Rep. Comer had said "Sit back DOWN, Mrs. Clinton, we aren't done yet!" But I don't think he had much hope of getting anything real out of her anyhow. They would need to have had her in chains (wonder if she would have enjoyed that?) to get her to hold still for any substantive questioning.
What hurt was watching Bill on the stand. I mean, it really did hurt! And again, I don't think they had much chance of getting anything substantive out of him. So what if he did play around with some of the girls on Epstein Island? Aren't they more concerned about security matters? Were they worried that Bill was gonna give state secrets while getting a massage? I'm sorry, but I thought most of that was unnecessary.

Yes, they should have made Hillary stay there until they were done, even if it had no value. It's a matter of respect, and of showing they have the right to do so.
I doubt Hillary would like being in chains. She strikes me more as the type who would like her man in chains. In bygone days I would have said that wasn't Bill but then I saw that portrait of him wearing high heels and a dress...
Yes, the real danger was if Bill spilled secrets while there. That is, after all, the whole point of honey traps.

Both the U.S. and genocidal Israel doesn't care about the laws. This is who they are.
If she thinks we are "they" then it tells me she has no right to be where she is, in a position of authority in the United States government. Maybe she should be deported? Maybe we should send her to Iran at this point?
This is how these Progressives in Congress really think. AOC, Crockett, etc. all do not thin of themselves as Americans so much as warriors fighting a guerilla campaign to take out a foreign enemy - us.
We've got to start taking actions against these kinds of people. They are a tumor on the body politic, a cancerous lesion.

Mike they did report it or I wouldn't have seen it. But the media probably doesn't want to report this because it shows Trump's efforts are working plus it shows that they WERE holding political prisoners in Iran. The media has a reason to not promote either.
The Administration would be reluctant to report this too because it would strengthen the hand of people in Congress who want a cessation of hostilities.
But you are correct; it's not happening on a large scale yet.
Amen So true Dana.

The problem is the report originated from Iran's propaganda ministry. These are the same people using schools and hospitals to hide from air strikes. What better place to hide then a prison full of political prisoners who are now hostages? These are also the very same people who could care less about human rights.

The Hour of Cowards
Timothy Birdnow
Why did the chicken cross the road? To do his podcast.
Uh Matt, I am on record as saying we needed to do this at least since Obama. In fact I had rather hoped Bush would do Iran instead of Iraq and I went on record saying so. I'm not much of an influencer these days but I at least said so all along and so did many others:
Matt Walsh
@MattWalshBlog
I can't take the gaslighting, guys. I really can't. Conservatives are now running around saying "Iran has been waging war on us for 47 years." Okay then why didn't any of you call for an attack on Iran at any point until now? Why didn't you make a case for Trump "ending the war, not starting it" until precisely the moment when Trump did it? You and I both know that you are latching onto a talking point you never used until 45 seconds ago. You and I both know that almost every conservative influencer in the business was opposed to war with Iran until just now. And now you're trying to use justifications that stretch back decades. It doesn't make any sense. If you changed your mind, fine. Say so. Explain why. You're allowed to change your mind. I've changed my mind about things. But don't try to rewrite history. Be honest about it. There's too much at stake to play these games.

Uh, also Matt apparently you are unaware that Iran has tried to assassinate President Trump at least one time already, and they have been filtering people into this country through the last four years. They were behind the horrific attack on Israel that led to warfare. They have attacked us repeatedly.
When the facts on the ground change you change your opinion, or should if you are wise.
Iran has been a low-enough priority in times past because we thought we could manage them. But not now.
Also, the Iranian People are in full revolt, which gives us a golden opportunity. Or do you think that no matter what it's not our business to bump off the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism?
Audentes Fortuna Duvat "Fortune favors the bold" as the old Latin proverb states. Sadly the Matt Walsh's of the world never met a situation that favored THEIR being bold.
We are at an historical crux, a real chance to change the horrible situation in the Middle East and perhaps bring peace for a time. Trump is playing this very strategically. He has no intention of sending in ground troops; he doesn't need to do so! We can bomb our way to a better world but only if we have the stones to take action.
Too many on our side are spineless, unwilling to do anything that might cause problems as they see it. Apparently Walsh is one such.
THAT is why we are always on the defensive, always losing.

Republicans Even with Democrats
Timothy Birdnow
And bear in mind these polls are always several points off, and almost always in favor of the Democrats. Oh, and the public is just starting to pay attention now.
These aren't "Republican" polls either but Harris, Harris X, and the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard (CAPS).
Iff we are seeing this you know the Democrats are seeing much more of it, using their private polls.
They have to be in full panic mode right now. That is, of course, part of why they are going to try to crash the President's foreign policy at this point. Trump is doing exactly what Clinton, Obama, and Biden all had done yet they are acting as if he just invaded Poland.
They have to convince the public he's not just wrong but evil. They've succeeded with some too.
FTA:
The poll of 1,999 registered voters, which was conducted online between February 25 and 26, found that 50% of Americans would vote for the Republican candidate in their congressional district and 50% would vote for the Democratic one if the midterms were held today. That marked an enormous improvement for the GOP, which trailed the Democrats 54%-46% on the same question last month..
People are just starting to pay attention now. Also, Democrats usually do better in polls because a.the Republicans work and can't take time to answer these polls b.Democrats do not c.older folks, who tend to be more conservative, tend not to answer polls and especially polls online. So even when the polls are on the up-and-up they favor the Democrats (most polls are NOT on the up-and-up but are designed to sway public opinion).
As I say the party has better polling than this and no doubt the knocking of their knees can be heard as far away as Britain.
I sure hope this is true; we've got to keep control of both houses of Congress or all this will be for nothing.

Gorsuch: the Founders were Drunks
Timothy Birdnow
I hate to agree with Gorsuch after he screwed us on the tariff business but I do have to say he's right; the Founding Fathers WERE a bunch of drunks!
He observes:
"John Adams took a drink of hard cider with his breakfast every day,” Gorsuch added. "James Madison reportedly drank a pint of whiskey every day. Thomas Jefferson said he wasn’t much of a user of alcohol; he only had three or four glasses of wine a night.”
"Are they all habitual drunkards who would be properly disarmed for life under your theory?” Gorsuch asked Harris.
SCOTUS is hearing a case where an occasional marijuana user was banned from possessing firearms in Texas based on Federal law. The Trump DOJ is arguing that this guy should be stripped of his Second Amendment rights. The Trump DOJ is, in my opinion, wrong.
When I say the Founders were a bunch of drunks I do not single them out; everyone was a drunk in those days. Water was bad, milk spoiled, there was no Coca-Cola or other soft drinks. You could drink coffee or tea, or alcoholic beverages. Take your pick. Water was always dicey.
So most people drank booze and lots of it. The Sixteenth through Eighteenth centuries were a very boozy time indeed.
There was a British Lord who, when congratulated on drinking THREE bottles of Port wine (at 22% alcohol or more) was asked if he drank it all by himself "no, I had the help of a bottle of Madeira (another fortified wine). This was common. Dinner parties used to have boys whose job was to loosen the neckties of the guests who were passed out under the table.
So all of these men drank quite a bit as a matter of course. Jefferson was particularly fond of Madeira, as were most of the Founders. They loved Porter beer, too. And a good pint of hard cider was always welcome.
That said, I am mindful of the unverified statement by Abraham Lincoln, who when informed that U.S. Grant was a drunk replied "find out what kind of whiskey he drinks and send him a barrel.) The Founders were just drunk enough to be brave enough to do so foolish a thing as declare independence from Britain, but not so drunk they were able to write the greatest governing documents in history. They were true men of genius, drunk or not.
Maybe we need to revive Madeira wine and Porter beer in D.C.; it might wake those idiots up. Chardonnay and Martinis seem to be dulling the current leadership's sensibilities.

Nick Shirley on Voting in California
Timothy Birdnow
He's gone and done it now.
From the Fox News article:
Shirley then asked the woman whether requiring identification "leaves any room for error" in the registration process and whether illegal migrants are voting in the state.
The employee denied the notion that illegals could be voting and asked Shirley how that would be possible.
"If they don't have their ID, and they could just sign on behalf of ‘Richard Sherman,’ then they could technically vote, right?" he proposed.
"Yeah, but they would be lying…" she responded, later adding that she doesn't believe illegal immigrants would abuse the state's registration process in order to vote.
Shirley was speaking on the Reilly Gaines show. He was recounting his discussion with a voter election official in the Golden State.
So this woman thinks nobody would lie to voe illegally. To paraphrase Gus McCrae from Lonesome Dove "if a man wouldn't cheat for a vote he don't want to vote bad enough". The Democrats want these votes bad enough.
The loophole is there is no I.D. required at any time to register or to vote.

That's kind of like saying "Nobody would carry a gun into a business that had a sign saying that this establishment bans guns."

U.S. Probably Took Out Ahmadinejad
Timothy Birdnow
President Trump got a bonus play in his game of Islamic pinball recently when he took out the former Iranian President Mouhmud "Doc Och" Ahmadinejad.
These are the good old days!

Now, there's a name I haven't heard in quite awhile. In fact, I didn't know he was still alive. Do we know if he even was?

There are hardly any more radical than Khameini and the other leadership Bill. There is nothing to lose here. And as Mike says, they can send up the next guy to wind up raining body parts. Eventually the People will rebel effectively or a more moderate guy will come to power (being all that's left) and then we can deal.
What we can't deal with is the current regime in power and never have been able to do so. The fact that they tried to assassinate Trump is proof that we aren't the ones who started this, and that this was going to have to be dealt with eventually. Do we wait until they get a nuke? They basically already have one; they have uranium enriched above 10%, the magic number. What they have been doing is holding off on testing so they can get a proper delivery system in place. They weren't satisfied with a Hiroshima-style gun trigger fission bomb either; they've been working on implosion devices because they get more bang for the buck that way and those are lighter so easier to deliver. We know North Korea build a bomb right under our noses and the Iranians are smart people. No doubt they've been doing virtual testing with their computers.
But even if they NEVER get a nuke they still have cost untold numbers of lives and many Americans have died at the hands of their proxies. Where is the line? When is enough enough?
I get not wanting to send troops into Iran; that would be stupid. But this is the proper way to deal with them. We have a ready-made revolution in motion right now, and when the regime runs out of thugs the army will revolt. We've seen this kind of thing before, in East Germany, in the old Soviet Union, etc.
I don't know about you but I'd rather not be looking over my shoulder all the time. Better to stomp them now.
BTW the Austin shooter had Iranian flags and photos of Iranian leaders in his home.

Robust Trade Growth Despite Tariffs
Timothy Birdnow
Tariffs would lead to a decline in trade, they told us. Didn't happen.
I just had a lengthy argument on Facebook with a guy who just insisted the tariffs have ruined the economy. No amount of data could dissuade him from his quasi-religious belief in what he misnames "free trade".
This notion that tariffs are somehow evil and bring poverty are entirely predicated on one example - Smoot Hawley from 1930. SH was a bad idea at that time because the country was already sliding into the Depression and we didn't need a tax increase but the fact remains it was not the cause but actually more of an effect. European nations began imposing high duties on American goods because they were losing money thanks to declining sales in the U.S. So we retaliated with tariffs of our own. But that had nothing to do with the Deppression, which was caused by the Federal Reserve contracting the money supply by a whopping 30%, causing markets to seize up and the economy to shrink away to nothing. That was the true cause of the Great Depression. It was not helped by the Hoover interventionist economic policies, which made markets unsure. Roosevelt, who ran as a moderate because Hoover's policies were too interventionist he claimed, doubled down on Hooverism once in office. That was the very worst thing anyone could do, take money from the few who had it and redistribute it with such things as the WPA (Short for We Piddle Around as my dear old great grandmother used to say.)
At any rate that was one of the very few cases that suggest tariffs are damaging to the economy, and it turns out not to be the case by and large In the early '20's both Harding and Coolidge imposed tariffs and the economy roared.
Tariffs ae not the boogieman we have been led to believe.

Dems, Massie Introduce War Powers Resolution
Timothy Birdnow
Mike "Tiny" Johnson says there will be a vote on the War Powers Act in an attempt to limit President Trump's ability to continue prosecuting the war with Iran.
Republican Thomas Massie co-sponsored the bill.
Massie is turning into the new John McCain, and that isn't a compliment. He's making political hay by opposing our party and our agenda. Massie is in the House and can be removed every two years; time for his removal. We need to run a strong candidate against him.
This will be a test of Mike Johnson and his ability to lead his caucus; he needs to keep everyone in line so this thing dies. Can he do it? That's what we are going to find out.
IF this were just about the Constitution as no doubt Massie will claim then why didn't he also introduce a formal declaration of war to be voted on?

These dudes should really stay the heck out of the way and let Trump run things for as long as he needs to. He's doing an excellent job of it. They didn't butt in when Obama and Biden were making a total mess of things, did they?

Exactly right Dana; they let the BHO and the Autopen run things as they saw fit. Now they want to micromanage Trump.
Trump is playing three d chess on the geopolitical stage and doing a masterful job of it. His taking out Maduro and now squeezing Iran is killing the Chicoms, who are running perilously short on oil. We are also see this impacting the Russians, and they are now talking about a peace treaty with the Ukrainians. All good things coming from a serious and aggressive foreign policy.
As Rush Limbaugh used to say, this is a world governed by the aggressive use of force. He is right and Trump is using it judiciously. Can you imagine Biden doing any of this?
Yet here we have Massie and no doubt will lose a few other Republicans who want nothing more than to pull the rug out from under the Administration.
Disgraceful.

Texas Shooter a Muslim
Timothy Birdnow
The Austin shooter was wearing a "Property of Allah" hoodie and had a Koran in his car, according to the FBI.
The gunman was a naturalized U.S. citizen, naturalized despite a string of crimes. He immigrated from Senegal during the Clinton Administration and was given citizenship under Obama.
When are we going to get serious about terrorism? We know who does it, and it isn't Mormons.

"This is an Illegal War"
This from Daniel Jupp:
This is an illegal war!
The difference between a war and air strikes enters the chat.
92,000 Obama bombs dropped on 7 different countries without a word of protest enters the chat.
Five decades of Iranian sponsorship of terrorism enters the chat
.
The difference between fake WMD’s cooked up by a spin doctor and a real nuclear weapons programme enters the chat.
The illegal war thing always makes me laugh. All the disastrous neocon ones were legal if your only criteria for that is a rubber stamp from the UN.
International law is a joke. The only people who regularly invoke it now are people who ignore the law at home and always back terrorists, criminals and evil causes then hide behind ‘international law’ like spoilt kids hiding behind mummy’s skirt.
I trust Trump not to get tied to a long disaster like Iraq.
I trust any action that offends both Owen Jones and Tucker Carlson to be the right one to take.
But the Woke Reich are right on one aspect of this. Obviously not the Jew hatred or the isolationism. But there is one sense where foreign battles have to be matched by winning at home.
It profits a man nothing to fight Islamic lunatics abroad if Islamic lunatics are running his own cities.
You have to deal with both to save the western world. The Islamic conquest is very advanced and you aren’t going to stop it unless you recognise what Manchester or Birmingham have become in the UK and what New York and Minnesota have become in the US.
By all means topple the mullahs….if you also intend to topple the Mamdani’s.

I'm with you 1000% with the idea of toppling the Mamdanis. If I had my way (and it's probably a good thing that I don't, at least all the time) I'd expand ICE's charter to sweep out all the Muslims in this country too. Which would actually be a shame, because there are a few good ones. There's a couple who live in our development, kitty-corner from us, who don't cause any problems (that I'm aware of) and who keep themselves, their children and their grounds clean and neat. OTOH, a school bus comes to take their kids to a non-standard school, and no good can come of that.

Climate Change Causes Hemorrhoids
Timothy Birdnow
This from Ken Elder:
I wonder if this is connected to climate change....
"Researchers report that people who use a smartphone while sitting on the toilet were more likely to have hemorrhoids than people who do not."
Mr. Birdnow replies:
But of course. We all know climate change causes droughts, and with droughts we have less water to drink. Less water means greater constipation. Couple that with smart phones, which give the constipate something to do there while he waits and voila!
See how easy it is to be one of the Gang Green!
BTW Climate Change doesn't cause hemorrhoids but the people promoting the theory do their best to act like them.

I think you've nailed it with your last sentence.
I used to suffer from those awful things, but a few years ago I had a nice "rear-end doctor" clean up the real-estate behind me and I've had no problems since. That was before I got my smartphone -- which I don't use when I'm sitting on the john, BTW.

I too suffer from them, but not so bad as to require treatment. I mostly get them after bouts of diarrhea.
I don't do anything on the crapper but, well, what the name implies. Never did get that whole reading magazines whil waiting thing..
