The Ghost and Talarico
Timothy Birdnow
Gather round the campfire boys and girls; I'm going to tell a scary ghost story! It's about a Senate candidate who disappeared suddenly without a trace.
James Talarico is
fading while Paxton is rising and the God is nonbinary candidate seems to be hurting from his disappearing act as the public knows they aren't being told the truth.
You can lie to the public but you can't lie after ignoring them. Talimebananarico disappeared for weeks without telling the public he was out or why then comes back with a lame story about having the flu. He could have at least issued a public statement but nothing. If he was too sick to campaign the public would have understood, but not his just ghosting the good people of Texas. That is disrespectful and dishonest. If he's pulling this kind of thing now what will he do when he's in office? Right now he's asking the public to elect him.
I always thought Paxton would surge anyway. As the people of Texas learned just what a complete radical this guy is they would decide he was not for the Lone Star State. Texas takes their God and their guns seriously. Talabanrico does neither.
The article states:
The polls, for the first time in months, have Ken Paxton in the lead. The Quantus Insights poll is widely considered to be the most accurate, for what that’s worth. (It was the only poll to get 2024 right.) Quantus has Paxton at 47.2 to Talarico’s 46.7. A half a point does not seem earth-shattering, but you also have to throw in the GOP correction that nobody likes to talk about, which in previous elections has ranged from 3 to 5% (Current research now states that it has reached 6.2%.) YouTube poll Election Time gives an impressive total of Paxton at 55.1% against 44.9% for the Boy Wonder. Realistic? Maybe not. But the real importance of polls is to show you where the wind is blowing, and right now, it’s gale force against Little Jimmy.
end
And Paxton keeps talking about this. Talarico ghosted the public and showed disdain for the voters. If he can't be bothered to keep them informed why would he bother to listen to them after he's in office?
Elected officials are PUBLIC servants; it is their job to keep the public informed.
Even if 'RICO brings the receipts he can't change the fact that his campaign could have brought the receipts when he was out. Everyone would have understood. He didn't have to personally do it. But his campaign dropped the ball, and probably because they feared the real story getting out worse than what is happening now.
So, unless the RINO wing of the GOP steps in to cost Paxton, we will probably retain this seat. Hopefully a lot of others.
As an aside I would like to point out that there is vast sums of money being pumped into Missouri right now in opposition to an abortion ban and transgendering ban on our ballot; every commercial break on television has at least one commercial against it and often two. They are also running lots of commercials about redistricting, trying to get the public to save Emmanuel Cleaver from the cleaver. The only reason Cleaver has had a seat is because of the rule where minorities had to be given their own, special districts, the rule the Supreme Court recently overruled. SCOTUS refused to hear Missouri's appeal (despite the fact our state constitution forbids a referendum over redistricting) until after we had a vote on it. My question is, where is the money coming from? There are no commercials competing with these. And if we are being inundated is the rest of the country? Someone is spending a LOT of money, and in times past I would say they were tapping into taxpayer dollars. They still might be.

Zelensky Gives a Big ef U to Trump and America
Timothy Birdnow
An arrogant and ungrateful Volodomor Zelensky has just
flipped President Trump the bird in no uncertain terms, bombing Russian refineries and according to the article:
Zelenskyy was quoted as saying that "the block” on attacking refineries "is out.” He added, "We’re done.”
If Zelensky is done with the moratorium on bombing Russian diesel refineries then America will be done with giving him what he needs to continue fighting. This ungrateful little snot thinks he doesn't need our help, apparently.
Zelensky is hoping that his lack of cooperation will flip Congress next month and thus lead to a friendlier policy by the U.S.
Notice he's gotten quite cocky after Congress passed an aid bill to Ukraine. He now thinks he can't be denied that money.
No doubt he can't as that is the way our government works; the Executive Branch cannot withhold money earmarked by Congress. But he can slow it down and possibly put some strings on it. And with a little luck he could get Congress to rescind it.
The Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 states the President must notify Congress if he intends to implement Impoundment - a practice where the President does NOT use authorized funds which goes back to Thomas Jefferson - and it must be approved by Congress. The President can either defer spending or do a recission (a perment cut) but he has to get tacit Congressional approval for a recission. In the current climate it seems unlikely Congress will allow President Trump to do it. But he can order a deferment. He should.
But then there is also the Line Item Veto Act of 1996, which authorizes the President to cut spending under certain circumstances and when it does not do harm to national interests or add to the federal budget deficit and it must have tax benefits. Under this provision it is possible the President could cut spending on Ukraine, but he'd have a big fight on his hands with Congress nonetheless. They can still override him in this instance.
Only one problem; SCOTUS declared this law unconstitutional. So Trump can't use that.
Zelensky knows all this and that's why he's getting cocky now; he has the
the $175 billion and he won't need to come back to the well for a while.
If Ukraine were defunded the war would quickly be over. But Zelensky sleeps well at night knowing the Western World will never tire of propping up his corrupt and despotic junta.
President Trump needs to find a tender spot to squeeze the Ukrainian government. He probably will; it's what he is best at. His speciality is finding leverage to force a deal.

Trump Wusses Out on Nidal Hasan Execution
Timothy Birdnow
Trump wussies out!
Executing a guy decades after the fact and then making it private sends no message to anyone and in fact there is little reason to do it if the public doesn't see it happen. It loses any deterrence it may have had. There is a reason why executions used to be public until the mid-20th century. Many of the atrocities we see today did not happen much in the old days because everyone knew the ropes (literally). Now it's a case of a sanitary, quick, largely painless death and so especially young people will risk it.
Yes, there is the risk of making a martyr out of someone, but that's why you need to take steps to counter that. Burying a Muslim's body with pig skin or embalming tthem with bacon grease would be a good start; many Muslims believe this will prevent the jihadist from going to Heaven.
Me, I'm all for tossing the body into a pig pen and letting nature take her course, but of course filming it while we're at it. I doubt many would-be terrorists would be willing to seek their seventy two virgins and a mule if they figured they'd be eaten by hogs and wind up with seventy two ugly old homosexual men instead.
Trump shouldn't have chickened out on this. It is important the public see these kinds of executions. We have become entirely too squimish and soft to face certain realities. What the man did was horrible and we need to know that justice was served. Nobody was forcing anyone to watch it, I might add. But it should be available to be seen by the public.
This isn't going to gain Trump or the Republicans any good will. The Democrats will still trash Trump just for his Administration suggesting it. Better to be damned for what you do than for what you refrained from doing but get blamed for anyway.

The Brain Still Learns Under Anesthesia
Timothy Birdnow
Atheists have long used anesthesia as proof that there is nothing beyond the grave; when anesthetized people often lose all sense of time; one minute they are here and the next they are here with no seeming awareness of any time passing. I know; I've experienced that myself (and didn't much like it). But it may well not be so.
From the article:
"Our findings show that the brain is far more active and capable during unconsciousness than previously thought," said Dr. Sameer Sheth, professor and Cullen Foundation Endowed chair of neurosurgery and a McNair Scholar at Baylor. "Even when patients are fully anesthetized, their brains continue to analyze the world around them."
[...]
The researchers used advanced recording devices called Neuropixels probes to monitor electrical signals from hundreds of individual neurons in the hippocampus. These tiny probes can detect activity from many nerve cells simultaneously, providing a detailed picture of how groups of neurons respond to information.
According to the researchers, this technology had not previously been used to investigate this particular brain region in this way. It allowed the team to examine how the hippocampus responds to sounds and language while patients are unconscious and unable to report what they experience.
The first experiment involved playing a series of repeating tones, occasionally interrupted by a sound that differed from the others.
Although the patients were under anesthesia, neurons in their hippocampus responded differently to the unexpected sounds. Even more surprisingly, the brain cells became better at distinguishing these unusual tones as the experiment continued.
This improvement suggested that the hippocampus was showing signs of neural plasticity, the brain's ability to change its responses through experience. In other words, some of the basic processes associated with learning appeared to remain active even without conscious awareness.
So while we may not be consciously aware, our brains are still processing information. Veddy eeenterestink!
I know this to be true from personal experience. I had the honor of enjoying a vitrectomy, an operation where they they cut into your eye, remove part of the vitreous Humor (which I did in no way find humorous) - the gelatinous material between the retina dn the lens of the eye that protects the retina. I had had a bleed in my eye and the blood stuck to the vitreous and so they had to cut out that part. They gave me general anesthesia for it. While I was under I dreamed, a very vague dream but a dream nonetheless. In it I was mad and kicking my eye doctor. When I awoke I learned he had had a terrible time removing the vitreous; he'd never seen anything like it. My vitreous appeared melted and coagulated and he couldn't get it out with his probe. Eventually he had to put a solvent in and essentially burn it away! The procedure took a long time; I was grateful I was under general anesthesia because often those procedures are done with locals. But I dreamed, which is important; you aren't supposed to be able to dream in that state. (I also dreamed I had metal straps around my chest and when they brought me out of it I was having trouble breathing, triggering a complete panic in the recovery room.) But I did.
The article continues:
The researchers then tested whether the unconscious brain could handle something more complicated than simple sounds.
They played short stories to the anesthetized patients while continuing to record activity from neurons in the hippocampus.
The results revealed a surprising level of language processing. Distinct patterns of neural activity contained information about different categories of words, including nouns, verbs, and adjectives. This suggested that the hippocampus was responding to meaningful features of language rather than simply detecting that sounds were occurring.
But the most intriguing discovery went a step further.
The researchers found that neural activity also carried information that could be used to predict upcoming words in a sentence. Even though the patients were unconscious, their brains appeared to anticipate how the language unfolding around them might continue.
So anesthesia is NOT mimicking death but rather just an altered state of consciousness.
It continues:
The findings raise important questions about what consciousness actually contributes to the brain's ability to process information.
Consciousness is generally associated with subjective awareness, including the experience of hearing, thinking, and understanding the world around us. Yet the study suggests that some neural processes involved in interpreting language and predicting future information can continue even when that awareness is absent.
This does not necessarily mean that the anesthetized patients consciously understood the stories being played to them. Instead, it indicates that the brain can carry out surprisingly complex aspects of language processing without a person being aware of doing so.
The distinction could help researchers better understand how consciousness emerges.
One possibility is that awareness depends not simply on whether individual brain regions remain active, but on how information is coordinated and shared across larger networks of brain regions.
Under this view, a structure such as the hippocampus might continue analyzing information even when the broader communication between brain regions needed for conscious experience is disrupted.
This has important implications for many different things - like euthanasia. It is often argued that a person in a vegetative state is simply dead and should be put down like a dog. But this suggests that as long as there is some neural activity the person is still alive in more ways than just bodily and thus you ARE murdering them even if they don't appear to be alive to you. And it explains the old saw about how you should talk to coma patients even if it appears they are totally unaware; they aren't.
This is a powerful pro-life development.
The article goes on to discuss how this works in a way surprisingly similar to how AI processes information, especially about language. Ai predicts what is coming from it's store of linguistic knowledge and apparently the hippocampus does likewise.
I would argue this is proof that the body and the mind are different things and the body continues to do it's job whether the mind aka the soul is aware or not. But of course this article won't mention that because neuroscience in particular is absolutely sure the brain and the mind are the same thing and let's not muddy that with discussions about souls. But we all have souls and that is a fact.
One last thing; people who have out of body experiences when clinically dead have reported everything said in the room as the medical staff worked to revive them. While I favor the idea this is because they were out of their bodies and still aware it DOES suggest that their brains were still processing even while clinically dead. take from that what you will.
In the end this is a fascinating development.

Rising Strokes and Cancer in Youths a Result of Covid Shot?
Timothy Birdnow
Not one but two articles in Science Daily this morning say young people are suffering from illnesses normally reserved for the older generation and they say scientists are puzzled.
And
I can think of a few reasons this may be the case; sedentary lifestyles, living with electronic gadgets stuck to their hands and heads, bad diet, etc.
But the one thing that screamed in my head as soon as I saw these two articles was COVID VACCINE.
We KNOW the mRNA vaccine causes stroke; that link has been well established. Cancer has been less so but it stands to reason given what we are doing inside the body with the mRNA shot. I worried about cancer when they first announced they were doing this; the mRNA shot uses messenger RNA to "teach" the body to produce antibodies for the spike protein in Covid without actually giving you Covid (weak or dead) as traditional vaccines do. The problem is this can trigger the body to produce mutated cancer cells in the process.
This study was done in England and it does not divide the populace by race, something necessary to understand the big picture. Are the recent immigrants more likely or less likely to get the cancer than the native British? It well may be the newly arrived are getting it at higher rates and that would make sense as they probably have different lifestyles and different diets.
They argue that obesity is part of the answer and that may be (or not) and they talk about how things have "improved" like eating less red meat (that may well be the problem; changes in the traditional diet) but in the end they conclude in both instances that scientists don't know, there is a missing X factor.
I think that X factor is the clot shot.
The study about strokes in young people was conducted in Cincinatti and northern Kentucky and I assume this would include Louisville as well as the Appalachians. Diets are pretty bad in these parts; lots of fried foods. It's also bourbon country, so take what you will from that. Also, at least in the mountains, inbreeding is an issue one cannot ignore. It may be there is a genetic predisposition to more strokes, one that just wasn't noticed in the old days.
But I suspect the Covid shot may be at work here as well. We KNOW it causes strokes; that's why we call it the clot shot.
At any rate scientists have thought and thought and never considered that it may be what medical science foisted off on us that caused the problem. They dare not admit that.
I fear we may have permanently damaged the genome of our population. Despite what has been claimed about this vaccine it does cause small but permanent changes in our DNA. See
here. (I had a devil of a time finding this as a Duck Duck Go search produced countless propaganda pieces dismissing claims the mRNA vaccine caused alteration in the genome - the claims all being made to protect the hoax that was the entire Covid panic.)
BTW the study linked in the article I linked above about how it makes changes to the genome says, among other things, it leads to a rise in Leukemia and other cancers - just as the first linked article about cancers in young people suggests - and I personally have heard about a number of older people who have developed leukemia recently.
See two papers about this here:
and
The clot shot causes the body to produce spike proteins so that the immune system can learn to recognize them and deal with the organisms producing them. But they were only taught to produce a very specific type of spike protein and so when Covid mutates the immunity doesn't work with the new strain. But what does happen is the body keeps producing the spike protein, triggering inflammatory responses and the subsequent problems stemming from high inflammation. Cancer is one such, especially blood cancers.
Yet neither of the papers which triggered this article mention the Covid shot as a possible cause of rising cancer and of increasing strokes among the youth. They cannot, even now, admit they really screwed the pooch on this.
The medical community is going to hide from this, as will our government, until memory fades. They are hoping to outlast the mistake rather than own up to it.

Just Say No to Sanity Tests for our Leaders
Timothy Birdnow
No.
What test will be used? Who will administer it? Who will interpret the results? Where is the cutoff between fit and unfit?
The article does speak to the way the Left uses sanity as a claim Conservatives are insane and that hearkens back to the old Soviet Union where they used to put dissidents in mental institutions, drug them, use electric shock on them, and otherwise torture them to put fear in anyone else who dared question their leadership. It is a common trick of the Left.
And if we were to put this in place the Left would eventually take it over and abuse us with it.
They have already claimed Trump is unfit for office and should be removed via the 25th Amendment because he is insane. You know they will use that again, and if we had a sanity test it would always go against us, and not the Left.
In my opinion the author, using the nom-deplume of Raw Egg Nationalist, has laid an egg here. While acknowledging the problems he/she/xi has then suggested something that is ripe for abuse.
I agree there should be some standards and those should come before an election - such as age limits, or not allowing immigrants to run. But to say we are going to have sanity tests is putting our faith in the "expert class" which is invariable on the Left because it comes out of universities. Faith in experts is something the Left has always promoted to get people to not use their own gray matter but allow the "best and brightest" to run their lives.
Foolish.
Abraham Lincoln was clinically depressed and, given his ferocity in the war, was a mass murdering butcher to boot. If he had to pass a sanity test there would be reason to believe he'd fail. Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated and his wife ran the government late in his second term of office. FDR was in a wheel chair from polio. Nixon was paranoid. They called Reagan insane, if you remember. We cannot afford to let the "experts" decide who is fit and who is unfit.

We Have Lost Our Country
Timothy Birdnow
Fully 20% of all college kids believe America deserved the 911 attacks.
This isn't rational and it isn't normal. But it's what happens when a bunch of Bolsheviks get ahold of our youth.
If I had children I would sooner send them into the place where the lions are kept in the zoo rather than to a modern college. The worst a lion would do is eat them; college professors will steal their souls.

How many of them know what happened on 9/11? How many are foreigners, esp from islamic states? How many had self hating brain dead libs for parents? I heard an interesting theory on Palestinian flag wavers. Its not so much support of Palestine but of the islamic ideology. The islamic ideology doesnt have a flag and is attached to whatever country is seen as being abused by freedom loving people. If the islamic ideology had a flag the palestinian flag would disappear

All excellent points Mike. Of course the universities should at least be teaching these kids the truth, which would make them less receptive to this but they are now. Yeah; the Palestinian flag waving is solidarity with Islam and not Palestine, of which these kids probably know nothing at all.

Trump Channels Reagan
Timothy Birdnow
This essay says what I believe as well. He argues that what Trump is doing is essentially what Reagan did in the eighties and I concur, although some of the policies predated Reagan. Containing the Russians, for instance, was a fifties policy devised by George Kennan. But by and large I have to say the essay is absolutely correct. Trump is taking Reaganism and running with it.
Read it all; it's short.
BTW People have forgotten how reviled and despised Ronald Reagan was back in the eighties. The Left had endless investigations of Reagan and tried to get him on the Iran/Contra business (and would have had not Oliver North manned the firewall). Trump is hated even worse because, unlike Reagan who wasn't rolling back the social programs and even gave America an illegal alien amnesty, Trump is going after the citadels of Leftist power in this country. Sun Tzu said to "seize that which the enemy holds dear" and that is exactly what Trump has been doing. Naturally that makes the enemy crazy when you do, which is the whole point.
And sadly many former Reaganites also hate Trump, just as the old guard Republicans hated Reagan. They tried to saddle Reagan with Gerald Ford as his Vice President, or "co-President" as they wanted to make him. Reagan wisely said no but then threw them a bone with George H.W. Bush, who overturned much of the Reagan Revolution along with his son W. Anyone who upsets the power structure is reviled by both parties. Reagan became the new norm, so when Trump came along National Review and even the American Spectator turned hard against him. Now both are irrelevant in American Conservative thought these days.
Trump is becoming the new norm. And we are watching the Nevertrumpers fade into the ashbin of history.

The Wormer Solution
Timothy Birdnow
"I Think That This Situation Absolutely Requires A Really Futile And Stupid Gesture Be Done On Somebody’s Part.”
Otter from Animal House
Blanket punishment for everyone is just abuse. Why should fraternities that don't host drug-fueled gangbangs be punished with those that do? Imagine if they said "all parties hosted by black students" or "all parties hosted by LGBTQ students" instead of fraternity parties; there would be riots.
The Left has always hated the Greek system because it is something outside of their power structure and is all male or all female. They despise that. They forced the Boy Scouts of America to accept girls and now they are going after fraternities.
For the record I was in a Catholic fraternity in college (Alpha Delta Gamma) and while we had some pretty drunken parties we never once came close to what this frat at Cornell did, but I am sure they were an outlier.
Of course the University lacks authority off campus and so the frat could host parties off campus, but even then, knowing the way Liberals think, they will probably kick students out of school for even doing something off-campus. It's how they roll.
And the girl was NOT a member of the frat so why are the boys punished when the girl was an eager and willing partner in a drug-fueled gangbang?
You punish the guilty, not anybody you think could maybe be guilty of something some day. America has innocent until proven guilty; the Left is always pounding on that. Well, the rule, which appears nowhere in the Constitution, doesn't really apply here but the Left would certainly make the claim if the roles were reversed. So why are all these kids being assumed guilty without charge?
Dean Wormer would get it. Even HE didn't kick the other fraternities off campus in Animal House.

Feminist Crazy
Timothy Birdnow
It's female supremacy, not feminists seeking equality.
Feminism is not and never was about equal treatment but has always been about putting women in control. If that power must flow from a double standard so be it. Yes, feminists excuse women who murder their kids because to not excuse them would be to make them accept consequences, and if they do that they are then under the patriarchy, see. Men must understand always that they are second class, that women are entitled to rule.
It is history's oldest delusion. Eve pulled this trick in the Garden of Eden.
The Book of Genesis has a forgotten and misunderstood passage when God is doling out punishments to the first rebellious couple:
Gen.3:16
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Most people who do not understand this passage think her SEXUAL desire will be to her husband, but it means more than that. I heard a Bible scholar explain it once; her desire is not so much a desire as jealousy; she wants to usurp his role as head of the household. The mistranslation is unfortunate as people don't get what it is saying. The woman is going to want to be the boss, the big cheese, the top dog, and she will jealously regard the man's authority and seek to overrule him. But in the end he'll be the one in charge and will rule over her and she won't like it. Many, many marriages suffer such power struggles and most marriages of atheists do not last precisely because of this power struggle.
But we weren't made that way. Men, too, aren't crazy about the job they have been given as head and Adam let Eve usurp his role because it was easier and men have done that ever since. Feminism would not exist had men not let women do it in the first place. Men are often weak and women often disdain them for it.
Feminist women especially look for beta males, men who will play along with their fantasy of power, and then hate them for being so weak. Yet they hate strong men even more because the strong men won't play their game. So often they end up alone and that is why there are so many lesbians in the feminist movement; no man can ever measure up to the standard they set. Of course two women have a similar problem.
Feminism has ruined our civilization and I see no way to put the bitch back in the bottle. Naturally they don't believe it was feminism that ruined their lives in the first place and so feminist women rarely change; it's always men's faults.
That is why they seem so double-minded; they are not interested in a fair shake but in power, and power can be attained by women by always taking the side of women and making men answer the question "when did you stop beating your wife". The want a rigged game, loaded dice.
But any game is worthless to satisfy a person if it does not have clear and enforceable rules. Feminism cannot possibly meet a woman's emotional needs because she knows deep down the game is not fair and she is only winning because her side is cheating.
Every woman who is a CEO or News Anchor or Congresswoman and who is a feminist has a deep-seated fear in her gut that she only has that job because she's a woman and not because she merits it. Such knowledge is called imposter syndrome and it gnaws at the soul. And rightly so; if you got ahead because you had the backing of the Woke movement you do NOT deserve your position.
At any rate feminism has made chicks crazy, and it will make them worse and worse as time goes by if society keeps letting them have their way. The insane must sometimes be restrained. They certainly shouldn't have sane folks play along with their delusions.
There is crazy then there is Feminist Crazy. We need to start calling them that, and it should become an everyday idiom.

Short Eyes in Sharia Germany
Timothy Birdnow
Sharia reigns in Germany as the country is being overwhelmed by
child brides being forced into marriage with immigrant men at ridiculous ages (like 11 or 12).
This is Germany today.
Only a handful of the 358 "marriages" have been annulled by the government.
When you immigrate to another country you live under their laws, not your own. But Muslim immigrants (and others these days) refuse to do that.
(Chinese too; they opened police stations in the U.S. to police their own people and impose Chinese law on them even though they are living here.)
This proves they are not immigrants at all by invaders who plan to overthrow the host countries. It's well past time to evict them from the Western World.

Nursing Home Vote Scam
Timothy Birdnow
We were told there was no vote fraud in America and that the '20 election was the cleanest in American history. Guess that wasn't true after all ...
Now America has universal education and not knowing how to sign your name is absolutely ridiculous; there is no reason why any ballot should be signed with an X in modern America. That is a huge red flag and every such ballot should be scrutinized.
When my father was a boy his grandmother owned a farm deep in the Ozarks. They had no running water, no central heat, no electricity. And she had a laborer who lived in a log cabin with a dirt floor back in the woods behind her home. Jim Lowe was the son of a Confederate soldier who settled back there and lived quietly to avoid any Union entanglements. (I suspect the senior Lowe was a Bushwhacker and so could not take the amnesty as irregulars were often not given one.) So old Jim grew up with no education and signed his checks with an X. But even he eventually learned to write his name. In modern America there is no excuse for not being literate enough to sign your own name at a minimum. And if you can't sign your own name how do you understand what is on the ballot?
BTW Jim Lowe himself kept a low profile after killing a man in a bar fight. He rarely went to town after that, and the local sheriff was none too eager to go and bring him in because he would not go easily, and it was an accident after all. This was in the late thirties and forties.
At any rate they told us there was no fraud in our elections and we keep finding more and more fraud. It is what has kept the Democrats close to the GOP all these years. We've had dozens of elections that ended with a GOP win but then the Democrats kept counting until they suddenly "found" enough ballots to win. It's odd how slow counting is always a problem in DEMOCRAT districts.
If democracy is so important then the first thing we must have is secure elections. Without that democracy means rule by the better organized, not the will of the People.

I've got a bottle of good champagne chilling for the happy day she is deported back to Somalia from when she wriggled.
From the Western Journal article:
And the New York Post lays out plainly why this is such a big deal: "If the congresswoman is actually one year older than she’s claimed to be, that would mean she couldn’t have legally become a U.S. citizen in 2000, critics contend.”
Omar’s birthdate has long been publicly listed as Oct. 4, 1981.
However, according to the emails obtained by the New York Post, it appears that in May 2019, the above date was shifted forward by one year, to 1982.
That time frame is significant, as Omar had had her age questioned by a political opponent, AJ Kern, who, the post reported, "came in a distant fourth against Omar in the 2022 House Democratic primary for Minnesota’s Fifth District.”
"She claims her citizenship narrative is that she derived citizenship through her father when she was a 17-year-old minor,” Kern told the Post.
However, he continued, "For derivative citizenship, two things have to be true — one, her father had to naturalize; and two, she still had to be a minor — and what I have found is that it’s highly likely that neither of those things are true.”
The Post reported Kern filed a FEC complaint to demand proof of Omar’s citizenship.
Couple this with corruption charges, which I hope will be forthcoming, and we may be able to oust this ungrateful, arrogant woman from America.
I find immigrants who then bad-mouth and abuse their host country to be particularly onerous; we gave them shelter and offered them the best of what we had and to be so astoundingly ungrateful as is Omar is something we should not have to suffer. This woman has never once expressed gratitude to the nation that saved her from a life of prostitution or scavenging for food. And she repays us by badmouthing her adoptive country and by stealing everything not nailed down.
She deserves to be sent back to the land of squalor and poverty and then she can remember how she had it all and tossed it away in her arrogance.
I doubt this particular issue alone will take her down but it's just one more piece of a mosaic being constructed right now and I hope in the end they build a strong case; it has to be very strong to deport a sitting member of Congress.
Mike Johnson should suspend her from all her committee assignments until this is straightened out. But of course he won't dare.
And, just so everyone knows, the judge who approved the raid is a big Democrat donor (he donated a lot of money to Hillary) - Judge Matthew Sharbaugh - who was appointed by Joe Biden in October of 2024 as part of his court packing prior to leaving office (or I should say the Autopen appointed him) and Sharbaugh was sworn in by James Boasberg, with whom he has much in common. The guy has a rock-solid Progressive record.
According to Wikipedia he's
homosexual and he has given the Trump Administration all kinds of trouble over the years, including throwing the book at J6 protesters and he freed a WWII memorial vandal for no good reason. This guy is as liberal as they come, yet it was he who authorized the raid.
So if a registered Democrat and partisan hack judge signed off on the warrant for the raid then there is very credible evidence against Mrs. Omar. (I forget; is she married to an American or still married to her brother?)
Immigrants should not be allowed to hold or run for federal office, in my opinion. Local and maybe even state but not for the federal. I may be a dreamer but I'm not the only one.
Anyway I hope they deport Ilhan soon so I can free up some space in my fridge...

Carbon Isotope Ratios Caused by Natural Phenomenon
Timothy Birdnow
Sorry I didn't have the time to clean this up. From a Facebook argument with a true believer who said he needed an explanation for why the c12/c13 isotope ration was not explained by human emissions:
Well then this should turn you into a skeptic. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/383240024_Multivariate_Analysis_Rejects_the_Theory_of_Human-caused_Atmospheric_Carbon_Dioxide_Increase_The_Sea_Surface_Temperature_Rules
Sea Surface temps are driving the increase in c12.
I suppose you haven't seen this https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2023-10-04-new-research-finds-ancient-carbon-rocks-releases-much-carbon-dioxide-worlds which showed that rocks outgas as much carbon dioxide as volcanoes. This wasn't included in the climate models but is undoubtedly part of the reason atmospheric CO2 has been rising (we are no longer pumping as much sulfur into the atmosphere and thus the rocks are now in release mode rather than absorption mode when a lot of acid was coming down with rain - a rain that no longer falls in many places as clouds have declined and there has been no major increase in precipitation, especially over land. Most of these surface rocks contain lighter carbon - the kind being blamed for the isotope balance issue.
And then there is this. https://www.pnas.org/doi/pdf/10.1073/pnas.1619240114
" Using updated records, we show that no plausible
combination of sources and sinks of CO2 from fossil fuel, land,
and oceans can explain the observed 13C-Suess effect unless an
increase has occurred in the 13C/12C isotopic discrimination of land
photosynthesis. "
end
In other words there is something equally wrong with the isotope argument. There are other forces at work.
Here's more:
"Fossil fuels are slightly de
pleted in 13C because they were initially formed from photo
synthesis, which involves isotopic discrimination, that is, selective
uptake of 12CO2 over 13CO2. The emission of fossil fuel CO2
therefore lowers the atmospheric 13C/12C ratio. A second im
portant influence on the 13C-Suess effect is the natural back-and
forth exchanges of CO2 with land and ocean carbon reservoirs.
These gross exchanges, also known as "disequilibrium fluxes,”
scramble carbon atoms between reservoirs, thereby spreading
the Suess effect into the land and oceans while reducing the
atmospheric signal. A third influence is net gain or loss of carbon
by the land biosphere, which is depleted in 13C because of
photosynthesis, similar to fossil fuels. A sink for excess CO2 on
land therefore offsets the influence of fossil fuel burning, not just
on CO2amount, but also on its isotopic composition. In contrast,
ocean uptake of excess CO2 has little influence on δ13C of at
mospheric CO2 (5)."
end
Just to make sure you understand the PLANTS are taking more c13 out of the atmosphere. Get it?
And just one percent of the atmospheric carbon dioxide is c13. So that is 0.0045% of the total volume of the atmosphere. It is so insignificant amount we cannot say with any certainty just how much is there at any given time.
BTW here is a list of 700 papers that dispute the orthodoxy on climate change, putting the lie to Oreskes and the 99% claim. https://www.cfact.org/2010/04/26/700-papers-supporting-climate-realism/
And it wouldn't do anything if we did reduce emissions. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-026-68586-y
So your strongest argument is in doubt, and all the other things predicted by the alarmists have been tarnished if not downright disproven. It's time to take a good, hard look at the science in opposition to the hypothesis.

Talarico in the Nut House?
Timothy Birdnow
Over at Zero Hedge we
have an article about a story by Nick Sorter in which a staff member at an Ohio mental health clinic claimed James Talarico was in their hospital for cracking under the campaign trail pressure. The story does not stand up to scrutiny; Talarico was seen the day before he was allegedly discharged from said hospital.
First, who go all the way to Ohio for treatment? I get it; he wouldn't want to be spotted in the state of Texas, but why Ohio?
Second, Hippa laws are very strict and no responsible healthcare provider would dare risk their jobs in disclosing this.
So the question becomes who did it and why.
I suspect the Democrats did it. I suspect they want to gin up sympathy for the 'Rico and having a big pile-on would do just that.
Of course Mr. Talarico owes the people of Texas an explanation that makes sense; the flu wouldn't prevent him using a telephone or skyping. He didn't need to be on long, just say "I'm o.k. folks and will always level with you". His mysterious disappearance was giving Ken Paxton a lot of ammo; it had to be dealt with.
They way to deal with it is to gin up a controversy that can be proven false and get a pile-on. Sorter got suckered by the Democrats I suspect.
But it is still a case of "where's 'Rico?" Ken Paxton can ride this thing without joining in with a conspiracy theory.
I've long argued conspiracies are real and happen regularly in politics. I''ve also long argued the powers that be use them as a weapon, multiply them, so as to paint legitimate conspiracy theorists as kooks. But we now know the truth about Covid, for instance, and for a long time those who believed it was a lab leak were tarnished as kooks and nuts. But we had the last laugh (well, sort of.)
But for every correct conspiracy theory there are dozens of fakes and the media promotes them in many ways because they provide cover for the ruling class.
This particular one looks very suspicious. He may well have been in a loonie bin (it's where he belongs, frankly) but not this one and not in the way this happened. To paraphrase Michael Corleone in Godfather 3 "our true conspiracy has yet to show it's face".

Congress Swallows a Spider to Catch a Real Estate Fly
Timothy Birdnow
I disagree.
The author, a former Trump Administration member who served on the FTA and in the DOJ, argues for greater scrutiny and federal regulations of multiple listing services (MLS) companies in an effort to fix something that has never been broken.
Yes, the MLS companies have wide leeway in choosing to post or not post listings, but as they make their money by posting there is a strong financial incentive to do so.
And it is already illegal to coordinate prices of housing. Or fees Realtors can charge, for that matter.
The big beef here is a listing service that takes non-Realtor listings. In particular there is a case where the Realtor companies and the MLS company are subsidiaries.
But so what? The internet exists and there is no way an mls company can possible hide a property from the public. We live in a golden age for the sale of real property, where anybody can list and sell their property with no difficulties, no advertising, no sweat.
This is a solution in search of a problem.
I would further add this is a future problem in that it is being used to address a minor issue now but will be used to force an ideological viewpoint on America in the future. If the Federal Government takes control of the real estate business they will start using this new-found authority to, say, promote things like what Joe Biden and Barack Obama before him promoted - to integrate wealthy, largely white communities with groups of minorities/aliens/Democrats to gerrymander Republican districts. They will use this sort of power being displayed here for "affordable housing" and how can we fight that? It will be the Trump Administration that put it in place and our Republican Congress.
Real estate is local and has long been primarily under local or state regulation, not much in the way of federal outside of the Fair Housing Act and other anti-discriminatory laws. (They used to send testers to us all the time to evaluate their treatment; I learned to spot them eventually but they were often harder to find then you would think and I imagine I missed a lot of them.) But as long as you obeyed the racial and other laws (like handicapped) you would avoid any federal entanglements. This is going to change that.
There have long been laws regulating dual agency, one of the problems this author is concerned about. Dual agency is sticky and can often be solved by farming the business out to a third party. Some states allow dual agency (where you represent both sides of a real estate deal, but it must be disclosed and the agent acts as a transactional broker and nothing more) and some do not. Nobody wants to be in that position; it is fraught with legal peril.
At any rate I think this is a solution in search of a problem. The exploding price of real estate has nothing to do with trusts or monopolies or price gauging but everything to do with illegal aliens - too many people in search of housing - and with the inflation of our currency, and with too high property and other taxes which drive up the cost of ownership (hence people can't afford it) and a number of other things that go along with it. Interest rates are too high at this point. There are other issues, but MLS/broker collusion is not one of them.
Congress needs to stop wasting time on non-problems and actually deal with important issues of the day (like passing the SAVE America act). This is just a distraction.

He Who Restrains Must First be Removed
Timothy Birdnow
Yep.
FTA:
"Of all the destructive philosophies that have plagued our species, globalism must surely rank among the most noxious. It clothes itself in the camouflage of virtue-signaling, false empathy, and fake compassion. It disguises ideological conformity as "open-mindedness.” It preaches "coexistence” while subjugating dissenters. It robs people of their heritage in the name of "tolerance.” It rewrites history when convenient. It replaces merit and equality with entitlement and privilege. When possible, globalism recycles Western civilization into foreign worldviews, and when that’s impossible, globalism tosses everything we hold dear straight into the garbage disposal."
In fact it does more than place foreign worldviews on an equal footing with traditional Judeo-Christian and Western beliefs it actually demotes the traditional, makes them the tail-end of society, pushes us into the shadows. It is the dream of the Ruling Elites to create a new world order, an international civilization where nation-states do not matter and where Western Civilization is replaced by alien and, frankly, demonic doctrine.
In short, they want to destroy us. This is a war being waged against all we hold dear.
It is a war we must win or everything will collapse. The only reason the West survived the fall of Rome was that Christianity spread and saved the best parts of it. Without Christianization Europe would still be worshipping Odin and launching sea raids against other nations.
The Vikings - one of the most ferocious peoples in history, mellowed after accepting Christ. So too did the Huns. In fact Attila was about to sack and destroy Rome and the Pope walked out to meet him. It was a rare Italian winter where there was a snowstorm and the Pope went out in sackcloth and bare feet as a penitent. Whatever Pope Leo the Great said to Attila is lost to history but the "Scourge of God" turned his forces and headed off from Rome. (He died on his wedding night shortly thereafter - Attila could conquer the West but a woman conquered Attila.)
Wave after wave of barbarians invaded the Roman empire and then the kingdoms that succeeded Rome and all of them were civilized by Christianity. Visigoths, Ostrogoths, vandals, all of them poured into the Empire with mayhem on their minds but wound up becoming good people as the culture and the religion absorbed them.
But now we reject these things, which have traditionally worked to make a better world. And it is no wonder war and chaos and crime and hatred are rising like Satan out of the abyss.
He who restrains, the Bible calls him.
The article continues:
The West’s talking heads genuinely seem to believe that people will go to war to save government bureaucracy, of all things! They think that unelected European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is somehow a symbol of "democracy.” They think that King Charles III will inspire Christians even though Britain’s monarch no longer declares himself the "Defender of the Faith” but rather an amorphous protector of "a multi-faith nation.” Globalists think they can rally Westerners around patriotic flags when they’ve spent the last decade arresting Westerners for being patriotic or waving their national flags. They think that they can talk Westerners into protecting sovereign borders when globalists have kept national borders open for decades. You simply cannot invite foreigners from all over the world to remake the West in their image and then expect Westerners to fight and die for a home that is no longer theirs.
Nobody runs up a hill to defend "multiculturalism.” Nobody sacrifices his life for "diversity, inclusion, and equity.” Nobody defends the Christian world by surrendering to Islam. Nobody goes to war in order to save the "rules-based international order” from destruction. It is utterly ridiculous to suggest otherwise.
The future belongs to those who are unafraid of making moral, cultural, and religious judgments. Only those who are willing to state the obvious — that Western civilization is worth defending — will be able to lead the West in the decades ahead. Big Government is a fake religion. Political correctness is a toxic ideology. Moral relativism invites depravity. Borderless nations are easily conquered.
There is a reason why nations have always had borders and why they have zealously defended them. It was not just some sort of tribalism or superstition; it was because without control of borders you have no nation, and without a nation you have anarchy that will end when a tyrant rises and imposes order through force. We've seen it happen throughout history, on every continent. It is ubiquitously human.
That is why this new world order scheme is going to destroy everything; it restrains those who would protect their neighbors and help maintain order and empowers the destroyers. Shiva rises when Brahma is suppressed (to use a little Hindu philosophy - see how multicultural I am!)
Multicultural regions usually are in a constant state of war - the Balkans, the Caucasus, India, the Middle East, etc. There are few multicultural nations that are peaceful. Canada used to be, but they embraced multiculturalism because of their French speakers and look how that has turned out now. Canada is being overrun by Middle Easterners as much as is Europe.
He's right about King Charles. On his coronation he eschewed the "defender of the faith" title in favor of a multicultural salad. That's why nobody in Britain would bother to fight "for King and Country" as they all used to do.
The Western World is in a suicide spiral. And it will die if we don't wake up soon.
