Nursing Home Vote Scam

Timothy Birdnow

We were told there was no vote fraud in America and that the '20 election was the cleanest in American history. Guess that wasn't true after all ...

Now America has universal education and not knowing how to sign your name is absolutely ridiculous; there is no reason why any ballot should be signed with an X in modern America. That is a huge red flag and every such ballot should be scrutinized.

When my father was a boy his grandmother owned a farm deep in the Ozarks. They had no running water, no central heat, no electricity. And she had a laborer who lived in a log cabin with a dirt floor back in the woods behind her home. Jim Lowe was the son of a Confederate soldier who settled back there and lived quietly to avoid any Union entanglements. (I suspect the senior Lowe was a Bushwhacker and so could not take the amnesty as irregulars were often not given one.) So old Jim grew up with no education and signed his checks with an X. But even he eventually learned to write his name. In modern America there is no excuse for not being literate enough to sign your own name at a minimum. And if you can't sign your own name how do you understand what is on the ballot?

BTW Jim Lowe himself kept a low profile after killing a man in a bar fight. He rarely went to town after that, and the local sheriff was none too eager to go and bring him in because he would not go easily, and it was an accident after all. This was in the late thirties and forties.

At any rate they told us there was no fraud in our elections and we keep finding more and more fraud. It is what has kept the Democrats close to the GOP all these years. We've had dozens of elections that ended with a GOP win but then the Democrats kept counting until they suddenly "found" enough ballots to win. It's odd how slow counting is always a problem in DEMOCRAT districts.

If democracy is so important then the first thing we must have is secure elections. Without that democracy means rule by the better organized, not the will of the People.

Drooling Elephants

Timothy Birdnow

The Republicans are the stupid party, no question, but THIS stupid?

Yes, this group of morons actually ran an ad for Susan Collins in Portland - Portland OREGON.

How can we hope to win elections with buffoons like this in our party?

Did Omar Change Her Birthdate to Obtain Citizenship?

Timothy Birdnow

I've got a bottle of good champagne chilling for the happy day she is deported back to Somalia from when she wriggled.

From the Western Journal article:

And the New York Post lays out plainly why this is such a big deal: "If the congresswoman is actually one year older than she’s claimed to be, that would mean she couldn’t have legally become a U.S. citizen in 2000, critics contend.”

Omar’s birthdate has long been publicly listed as Oct. 4, 1981.

However, according to the emails obtained by the New York Post, it appears that in May 2019, the above date was shifted forward by one year, to 1982.

That time frame is significant, as Omar had had her age questioned by a political opponent, AJ Kern, who, the post reported, "came in a distant fourth against Omar in the 2022 House Democratic primary for Minnesota’s Fifth District.”

"She claims her citizenship narrative is that she derived citizenship through her father when she was a 17-year-old minor,” Kern told the Post.

However, he continued, "For derivative citizenship, two things have to be true — one, her father had to naturalize; and two, she still had to be a minor — and what I have found is that it’s highly likely that neither of those things are true.”

The Post reported Kern filed a FEC complaint to demand proof of Omar’s citizenship.

Couple this with corruption charges, which I hope will be forthcoming, and we may be able to oust this ungrateful, arrogant woman from America.

I find immigrants who then bad-mouth and abuse their host country to be particularly onerous; we gave them shelter and offered them the best of what we had and to be so astoundingly ungrateful as is Omar is something we should not have to suffer. This woman has never once expressed gratitude to the nation that saved her from a life of prostitution or scavenging for food. And she repays us by badmouthing her adoptive country and by stealing everything not nailed down.

She deserves to be sent back to the land of squalor and poverty and then she can remember how she had it all and tossed it away in her arrogance.

I doubt this particular issue alone will take her down but it's just one more piece of a mosaic being constructed right now and I hope in the end they build a strong case; it has to be very strong to deport a sitting member of Congress.

Mike Johnson should suspend her from all her committee assignments until this is straightened out. But of course he won't dare.

BTW Omar's father was not a refugee but a war lord's military commander who murdered a lot of people yet we let him in anyway.

And, just so everyone knows, the judge who approved the raid is a big Democrat donor (he donated a lot of money to Hillary) - Judge Matthew Sharbaugh - who was appointed by Joe Biden in October of 2024 as part of his court packing prior to leaving office (or I should say the Autopen appointed him) and Sharbaugh was sworn in by James Boasberg, with whom he has much in common. The guy has a rock-solid Progressive record.

According to Wikipedia he's homosexual and he has given the Trump Administration all kinds of trouble over the years, including throwing the book at J6 protesters and he freed a WWII memorial vandal for no good reason. This guy is as liberal as they come, yet it was he who authorized the raid.

So if a registered Democrat and partisan hack judge signed off on the warrant for the raid then there is very credible evidence against Mrs. Omar. (I forget; is she married to an American or still married to her brother?)

Immigrants should not be allowed to hold or run for federal office, in my opinion. Local and maybe even state but not for the federal. I may be a dreamer but I'm not the only one.

Anyway I hope they deport Ilhan soon so I can free up some space in my fridge...

Carbon Isotope Ratios Caused by Natural Phenomenon

Timothy Birdnow

Sorry I didn't have the time to clean this up. From a Facebook argument with a true believer who said he needed an explanation for why the c12/c13 isotope ration was not explained by human emissions:

Well then this should turn you into a skeptic. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/383240024_Multivariate_Analysis_Rejects_the_Theory_of_Human-caused_Atmospheric_Carbon_Dioxide_Increase_The_Sea_Surface_Temperature_Rules

Sea Surface temps are driving the increase in c12.

I suppose you haven't seen this https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2023-10-04-new-research-finds-ancient-carbon-rocks-releases-much-carbon-dioxide-worlds which showed that rocks outgas as much carbon dioxide as volcanoes. This wasn't included in the climate models but is undoubtedly part of the reason atmospheric CO2 has been rising (we are no longer pumping as much sulfur into the atmosphere and thus the rocks are now in release mode rather than absorption mode when a lot of acid was coming down with rain - a rain that no longer falls in many places as clouds have declined and there has been no major increase in precipitation, especially over land. Most of these surface rocks contain lighter carbon - the kind being blamed for the isotope balance issue.

And then there is this. https://www.pnas.org/doi/pdf/10.1073/pnas.1619240114

" Using updated records, we show that no plausible
combination of sources and sinks of CO2 from fossil fuel, land,
and oceans can explain the observed 13C-Suess effect unless an
increase has occurred in the 13C/12C isotopic discrimination of land
photosynthesis. "

end

In other words there is something equally wrong with the isotope argument. There are other forces at work.

Here's more:

"Fossil fuels are slightly de
pleted in 13C because they were initially formed from photo
synthesis, which involves isotopic discrimination, that is, selective
uptake of 12CO2 over 13CO2. The emission of fossil fuel CO2
therefore lowers the atmospheric 13C/12C ratio. A second im
portant influence on the 13C-Suess effect is the natural back-and
forth exchanges of CO2 with land and ocean carbon reservoirs.
These gross exchanges, also known as "disequilibrium fluxes,”
scramble carbon atoms between reservoirs, thereby spreading
the Suess effect into the land and oceans while reducing the
atmospheric signal. A third influence is net gain or loss of carbon
by the land biosphere, which is depleted in 13C because of
photosynthesis, similar to fossil fuels. A sink for excess CO2 on
land therefore offsets the influence of fossil fuel burning, not just
on CO2amount, but also on its isotopic composition. In contrast,
ocean uptake of excess CO2 has little influence on δ13C of at
mospheric CO2 (5)."
end

Just to make sure you understand the PLANTS are taking more c13 out of the atmosphere. Get it?

And just one percent of the atmospheric carbon dioxide is c13. So that is 0.0045% of the total volume of the atmosphere. It is so insignificant amount we cannot say with any certainty just how much is there at any given time.

BTW here is a list of 700 papers that dispute the orthodoxy on climate change, putting the lie to Oreskes and the 99% claim. https://www.cfact.org/2010/04/26/700-papers-supporting-climate-realism/

And it wouldn't do anything if we did reduce emissions. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-026-68586-y

So your strongest argument is in doubt, and all the other things predicted by the alarmists have been tarnished if not downright disproven. It's time to take a good, hard look at the science in opposition to the hypothesis.

Talarico in the Nut House?

Timothy Birdnow

Over at Zero Hedge we have an article about a story by Nick Sorter in which a staff member at an Ohio mental health clinic claimed James Talarico was in their hospital for cracking under the campaign trail pressure. The story does not stand up to scrutiny; Talarico was seen the day before he was allegedly discharged from said hospital.

First, who go all the way to Ohio for treatment? I get it; he wouldn't want to be spotted in the state of Texas, but why Ohio?

Second, Hippa laws are very strict and no responsible healthcare provider would dare risk their jobs in disclosing this.

So the question becomes who did it and why.

I suspect the Democrats did it. I suspect they want to gin up sympathy for the 'Rico and having a big pile-on would do just that.

Of course Mr. Talarico owes the people of Texas an explanation that makes sense; the flu wouldn't prevent him using a telephone or skyping. He didn't need to be on long, just say "I'm o.k. folks and will always level with you". His mysterious disappearance was giving Ken Paxton a lot of ammo; it had to be dealt with.

They way to deal with it is to gin up a controversy that can be proven false and get a pile-on. Sorter got suckered by the Democrats I suspect.

But it is still a case of "where's 'Rico?" Ken Paxton can ride this thing without joining in with a conspiracy theory.

I've long argued conspiracies are real and happen regularly in politics. I''ve also long argued the powers that be use them as a weapon, multiply them, so as to paint legitimate conspiracy theorists as kooks. But we now know the truth about Covid, for instance, and for a long time those who believed it was a lab leak were tarnished as kooks and nuts. But we had the last laugh (well, sort of.)

But for every correct conspiracy theory there are dozens of fakes and the media promotes them in many ways because they provide cover for the ruling class.

This particular one looks very suspicious. He may well have been in a loonie bin (it's where he belongs, frankly) but not this one and not in the way this happened. To paraphrase Michael Corleone in Godfather 3 "our true conspiracy has yet to show it's face".

Congress Swallows a Spider to Catch a Real Estate Fly

Timothy Birdnow

I disagree.

The author, a former Trump Administration member who served on the FTA and in the DOJ, argues for greater scrutiny and federal regulations of multiple listing services (MLS) companies in an effort to fix something that has never been broken.

Yes, the MLS companies have wide leeway in choosing to post or not post listings, but as they make their money by posting there is a strong financial incentive to do so.

And it is already illegal to coordinate prices of housing. Or fees Realtors can charge, for that matter.

The big beef here is a listing service that takes non-Realtor listings. In particular there is a case where the Realtor companies and the MLS company are subsidiaries.

But so what? The internet exists and there is no way an mls company can possible hide a property from the public. We live in a golden age for the sale of real property, where anybody can list and sell their property with no difficulties, no advertising, no sweat.

This is a solution in search of a problem.

I would further add this is a future problem in that it is being used to address a minor issue now but will be used to force an ideological viewpoint on America in the future. If the Federal Government takes control of the real estate business they will start using this new-found authority to, say, promote things like what Joe Biden and Barack Obama before him promoted - to integrate wealthy, largely white communities with groups of minorities/aliens/Democrats to gerrymander Republican districts. They will use this sort of power being displayed here for "affordable housing" and how can we fight that? It will be the Trump Administration that put it in place and our Republican Congress.

Real estate is local and has long been primarily under local or state regulation, not much in the way of federal outside of the Fair Housing Act and other anti-discriminatory laws. (They used to send testers to us all the time to evaluate their treatment; I learned to spot them eventually but they were often harder to find then you would think and I imagine I missed a lot of them.) But as long as you obeyed the racial and other laws (like handicapped) you would avoid any federal entanglements. This is going to change that.

There have long been laws regulating dual agency, one of the problems this author is concerned about. Dual agency is sticky and can often be solved by farming the business out to a third party. Some states allow dual agency (where you represent both sides of a real estate deal, but it must be disclosed and the agent acts as a transactional broker and nothing more) and some do not. Nobody wants to be in that position; it is fraught with legal peril.

At any rate I think this is a solution in search of a problem. The exploding price of real estate has nothing to do with trusts or monopolies or price gauging but everything to do with illegal aliens - too many people in search of housing - and with the inflation of our currency, and with too high property and other taxes which drive up the cost of ownership (hence people can't afford it) and a number of other things that go along with it. Interest rates are too high at this point. There are other issues, but MLS/broker collusion is not one of them.

Congress needs to stop wasting time on non-problems and actually deal with important issues of the day (like passing the SAVE America act). This is just a distraction.

He Who Restrains Must First be Removed

Timothy Birdnow

Yep.

FTA:

"Of all the destructive philosophies that have plagued our species, globalism must surely rank among the most noxious. It clothes itself in the camouflage of virtue-signaling, false empathy, and fake compassion. It disguises ideological conformity as "open-mindedness.” It preaches "coexistence” while subjugating dissenters. It robs people of their heritage in the name of "tolerance.” It rewrites history when convenient. It replaces merit and equality with entitlement and privilege. When possible, globalism recycles Western civilization into foreign worldviews, and when that’s impossible, globalism tosses everything we hold dear straight into the garbage disposal."

In fact it does more than place foreign worldviews on an equal footing with traditional Judeo-Christian and Western beliefs it actually demotes the traditional, makes them the tail-end of society, pushes us into the shadows. It is the dream of the Ruling Elites to create a new world order, an international civilization where nation-states do not matter and where Western Civilization is replaced by alien and, frankly, demonic doctrine.

In short, they want to destroy us. This is a war being waged against all we hold dear.

It is a war we must win or everything will collapse. The only reason the West survived the fall of Rome was that Christianity spread and saved the best parts of it. Without Christianization Europe would still be worshipping Odin and launching sea raids against other nations.

The Vikings - one of the most ferocious peoples in history, mellowed after accepting Christ. So too did the Huns. In fact Attila was about to sack and destroy Rome and the Pope walked out to meet him. It was a rare Italian winter where there was a snowstorm and the Pope went out in sackcloth and bare feet as a penitent. Whatever Pope Leo the Great said to Attila is lost to history but the "Scourge of God" turned his forces and headed off from Rome. (He died on his wedding night shortly thereafter - Attila could conquer the West but a woman conquered Attila.)

Wave after wave of barbarians invaded the Roman empire and then the kingdoms that succeeded Rome and all of them were civilized by Christianity. Visigoths, Ostrogoths, vandals, all of them poured into the Empire with mayhem on their minds but wound up becoming good people as the culture and the religion absorbed them.

But now we reject these things, which have traditionally worked to make a better world. And it is no wonder war and chaos and crime and hatred are rising like Satan out of the abyss.

He who restrains, the Bible calls him.

The article continues:

The West’s talking heads genuinely seem to believe that people will go to war to save government bureaucracy, of all things! They think that unelected European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is somehow a symbol of "democracy.” They think that King Charles III will inspire Christians even though Britain’s monarch no longer declares himself the "Defender of the Faith” but rather an amorphous protector of "a multi-faith nation.” Globalists think they can rally Westerners around patriotic flags when they’ve spent the last decade arresting Westerners for being patriotic or waving their national flags. They think that they can talk Westerners into protecting sovereign borders when globalists have kept national borders open for decades. You simply cannot invite foreigners from all over the world to remake the West in their image and then expect Westerners to fight and die for a home that is no longer theirs.

Nobody runs up a hill to defend "multiculturalism.” Nobody sacrifices his life for "diversity, inclusion, and equity.” Nobody defends the Christian world by surrendering to Islam. Nobody goes to war in order to save the "rules-based international order” from destruction. It is utterly ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

The future belongs to those who are unafraid of making moral, cultural, and religious judgments. Only those who are willing to state the obvious — that Western civilization is worth defending — will be able to lead the West in the decades ahead. Big Government is a fake religion. Political correctness is a toxic ideology. Moral relativism invites depravity. Borderless nations are easily conquered.

There is a reason why nations have always had borders and why they have zealously defended them. It was not just some sort of tribalism or superstition; it was because without control of borders you have no nation, and without a nation you have anarchy that will end when a tyrant rises and imposes order through force. We've seen it happen throughout history, on every continent. It is ubiquitously human.

That is why this new world order scheme is going to destroy everything; it restrains those who would protect their neighbors and help maintain order and empowers the destroyers. Shiva rises when Brahma is suppressed (to use a little Hindu philosophy - see how multicultural I am!)

Multicultural regions usually are in a constant state of war - the Balkans, the Caucasus, India, the Middle East, etc. There are few multicultural nations that are peaceful. Canada used to be, but they embraced multiculturalism because of their French speakers and look how that has turned out now. Canada is being overrun by Middle Easterners as much as is Europe.

He's right about King Charles. On his coronation he eschewed the "defender of the faith" title in favor of a multicultural salad. That's why nobody in Britain would bother to fight "for King and Country" as they all used to do.

The Western World is in a suicide spiral. And it will die if we don't wake up soon.

Pot Pourie of Climate

Timothy Birdnow

A few climate points to ponder.

First, this paper shows that as of 2014 sea level rising rates had dropped off from the nineties levels (they have since come back but at the original rate of rise) and this is in direct violation of the carbon dioxide greenhouse warming theory.

Second, this last year Greenland gained ice mass to join Antarctica in gaining ice despite the claims the polar ice was melting away. And in fac t the Earth's rotation sped up, which is a sign the poles have gained ice (since more ice on top and bottom is like a figure skater putting her hands over her head and her feet together; she spins faster.)

Finally, I another list of scientists who have expressed their disagreement with the climate orthodoxy in contrast to the lie that 99% of scientists agree with the alarmist view. For a theory that has universal support (I doubt you could find 99% of scientists who would agree with the Copernican theory) there sure do seem to be a lot of people, especially top people, who say it ain't so.

It must be said to be a warmiac; they are fighting a losing battle. All they ever do on these Facebook groups to which I belong is post up the same tired, ridiculous graphs that show a hockey stick in planetary temperatures, something soundly rebutted time after time.

They pretend the Medieval Warming Period, the Roman Warming Period, and the Holocene Climate Optimum never existed. I actually had to spank some remedial child over claims the MWP and Little Ice Age were just regional things and not worldwide (they aren't and that's easy to find online; the censors missed it.) Naturally the Gang Green continues to fight because this was and remains the key to imposing world government and international socialism. And they just suffer from terminal arrogance, which is how the Left recruits in the first place; tell kids they are "the best and brightest" and that they should disdain anyone who disagrees with them. It's a powerful incentive to young mediocrities. That is how they get respect, by parroting what the Leftist websites tell them to say. The Gang Green has whole websites devoted to how to argue with skeptics and these people read those and then think they are going to win the argument easily. (Our side has nothing comparable.) And of course the Left controls the web search engines so finding the information we want is difficult. It can be found but it takes a lot of digging. You find the alarmist pap immediately when doing a web search. Even Duckduckgo sucks in that regard. We desperately need a conservative search engine.

Anyway thought you should know.

I'm surprised the Left hasn't started promoting prostitutes to call the cops on their johns on the theory that the johns broke the law.

GOP Starting to Pull Ahead

Timothy Birdnow

The polls are now starting to turn our way.

New polling shows Republicans leading or in dead heats in nine key Senate races.

  • Incumbent Kansas GOP Sen. Roger Marshall leading by 5 points
  • Incumbent Nebraska GOP Sen. Pete Ricketts leading by 5 points
  • Incumbent Alaska GOP Sen. Dan Sullivan leading by 2 points
  • Incumbent Maine GOP Sen. Susan Collins leading by 2 points
  • Incumbent Ohio GOP Sen. John Husted leading by 1 point
  • Iowa GOP Rep. Ashley Hinson leading by 4 points (for an open seat)

I caught Fox News Sunday, which always annoys me with it's RINO flavor and Shannon Bream is a dope, and it was a monologue of gloom and doom, even by the Conservatives on the panel. They were moaning about how the GOP is being forced to spend money in normally reliable places, completely ignoring the fact that Minne-freakin-SOTA is in play. But if you really follow the money you will find billionaires are donating 80/20 to the GOP, and that is the REAL story; these are guys who don't waste money on losers.

This happens every election cycle; the Dems are predicted to walk away with it and then the polls start tightening and by election day are fairly close to the final count. That's because early on they are designed to depress our side and embolden the Left but then at the end they don't want to embarrass themselves (as did Iowa pollster J. Ann Selzer who did NOT retract her predictions that Kamala Harris was going to blow out Trump at the end and wound up being sent into early retirement). The fact is polls are not about predicting the mood of the country nor how it will vote but about leading her.

So at least nine battleground states are increasingly appearing to be Republicans to lose, and yet the media keeps acting as if all of America hates Donald Trump and will vote for Bolsheviks and Islamic Jihadists rather than elect Trump-friendly Americans.

I don't buy it. Hope I'm right but I've been right for the last few election cycles now. Sometimes it sucks being right, but in this case I hope I am; I will rejoice.

Losing the Asian Oil Market

Timothy Birdnow

I was worried about this.

Because most American oil has to be obtained through fracking it is naturally more expensive. Add high shipping costs and it becomes too expensive.

And we struggle to refine it anyway, what with just a handful of refineries left in America after 12 years of Obaama and Biden and eight of George W. Bush, an oil man who promoted "renewable energy" (which flies in the face of the common lie told by the global warming nuts that "big oil" funds "deniarism" when in fact a big oil man pushed alternative energy into the forefront and cost us dearly.)

But what will happen when oil stops flowing out of the Gulf completely? They will have to turn back to us.

I had a big argument with a liberal about Trump's first term and how he tried to shore up oil prices. This clown made the usual liberal points about plutocracy and Big Oil and I pointed out at the time this was when oil was very cheap and Mr. Trump needed to shore up prices to a degree so American oil would be competitive on the world market. As far as I know Mr. Trump has never been invested in any real capacity in oil but he is businessman enough to understand we couldn't let oil sink to low or our entire industry would crash, and then when prices went back up we'd have nothing to fall back on; we'd be at the mercy of the Arabs or Venezuela and that would be that.

While our oil companies are doing fairly well now with prices high we are losing our export market, and that isn't a good thing.

But if it hurts us it will hurt the Chicoms or other Asian markets worse.

The big issue here is that we need our oil companies investing in drilling, in exploration, and in refineries. They are doing that right now. If they get too broke they will stop and play a waiting game, selling oil purchased from elsewhwere.

Anyway it's an issue. Hopefully we can get the costs of shipping down to a dull roar. As regular readers know, it's in large part an insurance problem; American companies now insure the tankers rather than the British but they are charging more because it is a more dangerous thing to ship oil these days. That has driven the prices up.

That needs to change. But it will in time - if the GOP holds Congress. If not all bets are off.

Sparkles Strikes Again and NY Post Lies About Fraud

Timothy Birdnow

STANDING! Common Cause, the leftist organization, has zero standing in this case.

If states are going to allow mail-in voting that means ballots can and will cross state lines and that means the Federal Government has the authority to see voter rolls to avoid mail fraud.

You can't take a woman across state lines to have sex with her but you can steal an election by crossing state lines. Why can't there be a Mann Act for voting?

We all remember Sparkle aka US District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan, who has weighed in on such issues before. She is a ditzy Bidenbot who shouldn't judge a hot-dog eating contest but here she is overstepping her authority (she has no power to rule on national policy but only in her district per SCOTUS) and making national policy.

No state has the authority to overrule fair elections by running an election machine. That is disenfranchising the other states and stealing the votes of honest voters.

SCOTUS had previously paused her order on this very issue but she just ignored them and came back with another. Oh, and since it's within the ninety day window the order is wholly unnecessary because the Administration is barred BY LAW from reviewing voter information. She made this ruling entirely to set a precedent; she figures the Supreme Court won't review it since it is a moot point but then it becomes a precedent.

Here is where you can never trust the New York Post or any other Newscorp publication:

Trump, who falsely claims his loss in the 2020 presidential election was due to voter fraud, ordered the Justice Department last year to crack down on voting by ineligible people, despite multiple state audits and independent studies showing such voter fraud is rare.

end

How did the NY Post determine Trump "falsely claimed"; there is ample evidence and more coming out all the time. This was the mantra used by the entire media in '20 and Trump was prevented from having the information he needed to prove the election was stolen (it WAS stolen; we know tens of thousands of bad ballots were cast in Georgia, which would have overturned the election results). This is a damnable lie but Newscorp persists in it because a.they settled a lawsuit (which they probably would have won) over accusations of fraud and b. they are Establishmentarians and have never had any use for Trump.

So a pox upon their collective houses. If they don't want to say the election was stolen at least maintain neutrality. But this was probably something written into their agreement with Dominion.

Iceaphobes Rabid Response Tries to Provoke Agents

Timothy Birdnow

A "rapid, er, rapid response" team of Iceaphobes violently attacked Ice Agents in an Oregon parking lot.

They were hoping for a shooting by the agents; the Democrats need an "incident" to push the public to vote against Republicans in the upcoming election and were hoping to provoke one.

There is video. The scene is chaotic and very loud as these leftists are all blaring their car horns while trying to box in the agents. Oh, and they are waving Mexican flags.

Keystone Secret Service

Timothy Birdnow

If I were Trump I'd fire the Secret Service and hire my own private security.

This is what DEI does to things; they have been hiring unqualified people for years now and it shows.

I've long suspected the SS has had a different standard for protecting Mr. Trump than they had for previous Presidents. The fiasco where Trump got shot proved they had a loosey-goosey approach to keeping Trump safe, if it wasn't purposeful. Given the fact our intelligence agencies despise Trump and they are the ones who carry out such things as assassinations one wonders if the SS isn't in on it.

But they don't need to be; they are so incompetent anyone serious about killing the President would be able to do so.

I suspect the Deep State doesn't want to kill him at this point but rather would like a few incidents to frighten him. Killing him would make him a martyr. Better to make him a lame-duck and then, as a private citizen, they can punish him all they like. They plan to, because they cannot allow anyone to ever do this again. Everyone has to be afraid.

Were I Trump I would create a private security force and staff it with old-time military guys. Of course, if he does, the media will compare them to the Gestapo, but that is better than being dead.

Eight Out of Ten Billionaires Agree

Timothy Birdnow

They wouldn't be doing this if they weren't confident the GOP is going to win.

These aren't people who got rich wasting money. They have better information than do we and know which way the wind is blowing.

Billionaires have donated $344.3 billion to Republicans this election cycle.

So do not believe it when the media - even Fox Snooze - tells you there is a blue wave coming. Billionaires disagree.

Fed Up with Zelensky

Timothy Birdnow

President Trump has about had it with Ukrainian dictator Volodomor (which mans the prince) Zelensky.

The Ukrainian President for Life (who has overstayed his term of office) has angered President Trump by attacking Russian diesel refineries, contributing to the worldwide diesel shortage and driving up inflation in the U.S. (Vladimir Putin at least holds sham elections, something Zelensky doesn't bother doing.)

Trump posted:

Rapid Response 47

@RapidResponse47
·
Follow
.@POTUS: We told Zelensky, 'You can do whatever you want to Russia, but don't hit the refineries because that's a world problem.' And what does he do? He goes and hits the diesel fuel. He better damn well stop.

This right after a Trump had a very productive phone call with Vladimir Putin.

Putin had agreed to provide 300,000 tons of diesel to the West.

Was this a wise strategy by Zelensky? Probably in that the Europeans won't sour on him no matter how much he hurts their people and the sale of diesel will bring Russia some very much needed revenue. But he has now angered the President and knowing Trump he will find a way to punish the Ukrainians.

The GOP in Congress should put through a bill to scrap the Lindsey Graham funding bill for Ukraine but they won't do it, I am sure. Trump's been on the fence about restricting the exportation of American diesel; now is the time. Make the Europeans suffer from no fuel. Maybe they will bring pressure on Ukraine for this.

Trump should restrict weapons exports to Ukraine too. Without our weapons I suspect the Ukrainians will find their war fortunes changing quickly. They are heavily dependent on American military aid.

If any nation wants our help they have to accept our conditions. Ukraine would long since have become a province of Russia were it not for our aid. But, like all welfare recipients, they are ingrates on a par with the rest of Europe.

There is nothing more despised than a benefactor.

At any rate Trump is going to have to punish Ukraine and Zelensky. Make no mistake; Zelensky is cheering for the Democrats to win in November.

BTW 72% of Ukrainians hold Zelensky personally responsible for the terrible corruption in the country. If there were elections held the big Z would lose. And they are right.

There is precious little interest in Zelensky's wealth or where his money is going. I find that quite interesting given the Ukrainians were sending lots of money to Hillary Clinton back in '16. And Elon Musk found more than half of U.S. aid to Ukraine was laundered back to Democrats.

Trump is right; Ukraine needs a new President. Zelensky is only out for himself.

A Flock of Eyeballs

Timothy Birdnow

Flock's camera network should be called "flock U".

"Customer hereby grants to Flock a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide license to (a) use and disclose Customer Data to provide the Flock Services; and (b) use Customer Data to support and improve Flock’s products and services,” Flock states in its August 2026 terms and conditions. The terms explain that the county keeps ownership of its data.

So this is backdoor spying by both government and a private corporation. Not cool.

I would call this unreasonable search and seizure. It's fine if a cop on patrol spots a suspicious car but to have surveillance cameras watching everyone and selling their information is a clear Fourth Amendment violation.

Fleeing GOP Senator Handing Power to Democrats

Timothy Birdnow

Republican U.S. Senator Steve Daines is leaving a parting gift as he walks away from his Senate seat in Montana.

Daines purposely waited until just before the filing deadline to announce his retirement so his hand-picked successor - U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme - would be the only candidate.

Daines is co-sponsoring a bill to make major changes to procedure in the Senate. He is co-sponsoring the legislation with Oregon Democrat Sen. Jeff Merkley, and they expect a vote while Daines is still in the Senate to help guarantee it's passage.

Partnering with a Democrat shows just where Daines, who was supported by President Trump, really stands. You don't partner with Democrats on things like this. It's a big FU to Trump and to America.

According to the Daily Signal article:

"A bipartisan Senate duo claims it has the answer to "Save the Senate.” The proposal to eliminate cloture votes, limit dead floor time, increase debate time, and create multiple "fast-tracks” for bills could allow the Senate to pass more legislation.

The rule changes, proposed by retiring Republican Sen. Steve Daines of Montana and Democrat Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, seek to limit dead floor time, limit omnibus bills and backroom deals, and move legislation faster, much like the lower chamber. Their goal is to get the proposal passed before Daines departs and the new Congress convenes in January.

"More bills passed, more votes taken, less time wasted. That sums up,” Daines said in a Semafor interview with Merkley announcing the proposal."

If Democrats are for this there is something wrong with it and either Daines doesn't know this or he's screwing us. I favor the latter interpretation; he's been in the Senate long enough to know how they operate.

Ending cloture means more filibusters and less done, not more. If Daines truly wanted to limit filibusters he would have eliminated the filibuster, not cloture. Cloture is what ends a filibuster.

Senator Mike Lee had this to say about this bill:

"I’m concerned that this proposal would have many of the downsides of eliminating the filibuster and none of the upsides,”

Jeff Merkley (rhymes with Berkeley)" a progressive champion and a workhorse for working families, democracy, and climate.". Is that really who you want to crawl into bed with?

But Daines is doing it and it's going to burn the GOP, I have zero doubt of that.

So why did Daines wait until he retired? Why is he retiring in the first place? The suddenness of his retirement suggests somebody found something on him and he may well be a blackmail victim.

Senator Daines has near perfect attendance and he's never once voted against the party line. Don't know if he believes it or is just a good foot soldier for the Republican Establishment.

I am all for reforms but if Democrats want them you have a problem.

It hurts to lose a guaranteed supporter but on the other hand Daines is probably leaving for the same reason that so many RINO's are leaving and he's getting his pick of replacements (assuming he wins) so no doubt the replacement will be similar to Mr. Daines.

I doubt this will pass but you never know. If it does I hope the Republicans don't get hornswoggle as they usually do, but I have great faith in them. They always think they are ahead of the game when they are in fact well behind. Republicans are like George on Seinfeld; thinking Cramer is a buffoon but he's way ahead of the dim-witted George.

Baseball Memories

Timothy Birdnow

Here is an article reminiscing about the legendary Cardinals pitcher Bob Gibson.

A point most people do not know; Gibson was annoyed something awful by Tim McCarver, the Cards catcher. My dad told me about how one time Gibson had put a second guy on base and McCarver came out to the plate "You got two guys on base Bob" to which Gibson testily replied "I know...I put them there". They didn't much like each-other but they worked well together.

I bring it up mainly to reminisce a bit myself.

I was born in 1964, the year the Cardinals won the World Series. My father was a YUUUUGGGE sports fan in general and Cardinals fan in particular. I chose the very last game to come into this world.

My mother went into labor during the game and my father made her wait until the game was over to take her to the hospital.

So I bleed Cardinal Red; I was literally born the day the Cards won the Series.

I feel bad; I was 18 days late. My mom wasn't mad at my dad; she had had false labors a couple of time before D-Day and so she just sat there with contractions coming while my father cheered Bob Gibson and the boys on to victory.

I'm sure it crimped his style though.

If any of you have ever been in a town with a baseball team that won the Series you know it's one of the most amazing, exciting, joyous things you will experience in life. I remember the huge party that erupted in '82 when the Cards beat the Brewers for the championship! It's pure magic!

So I suppose I'm rooting for the Brewers now. I can't say I like blue Milwaukee but I like it better than L.A. And they, like St. Louis, were once a big beer town.

Wonder if the Old Milwaukee will be flowing in the taverns? Not sure even Milwaukee still drinks that.

A friend's father used to drink that stuff and it was o.k. if you drank it FAST. Let it warm much and it was pretty, well, putrid I suppose. But it was cheap, and my friend's dad had a beer fridge that was probably 33 degrees, as cold as you could get beer without it freezing. But, as I say, you had to slam it pretty quick or ugggh...

Anyway good luck to the Brewers.

Interesting Times

Timothy Birdnow

More bad news for the Chicoms.

A word to the wise - deflation is as destructive as inflation, if not more so. Your money is worth more but there are fewer jobs and fewer goods and services and credit is nigh unto impossible to get

The United States had a problem with deflation during the latter days of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and it led to the rise of the Populist Party and the "Free Silver" issue upon which William Jennings Bryan made his fame with his legendary "cross of gold" speech "you shall not crucify Mankind of a cross of gold!" he exclaimed in his speech. That was because the Populists were demanding a bimetallic standard for money, which would lead to inflation. Bryan was a Democrat and he stole their thunder with this. It worked and we've been on an inflationary track ever since. (Gee, thanks!) But the problems with deflation were real, and especially the farmers hated it because it tightened credit ad farmers live or die by credit.

The reason why deflation is so terrible for borrowers is that, while the value of money increases, the amount of money the borrower has to pay to the bank remains constant, so essentially the debtor is giving more and more of his wealth to the bank with every payment. If, to simply the matter, you borrow a hundred thousand dollars from the bank and the deflation rate is 5% you would essentially lose that five percent as you pay it back, and that would compound along with interest rates. The price of goods and services decreases with deflation, but so too does the cost of your debt in real terms.

This is different from disinflation, which is a decline in the rate of inflation. But once it falls below zero it becomes deflation. Goods are cheaper but it hurts manufacturing for that same reason and so a producing economy becomes an importing economy. Beware deflation in the U.S.; the internationalists may move to trigger it to force the U.S. back into dependency on foreign manufacturers.

Deflation also leads to less demand because prices are falling and if you wait they will fall further. We've seen this with new products like computers; once only rich people bought them because they were too expensive. Then prices dropped. Now you can get them for cheap and now everyone buys them. That is how it will go with deflation, only by the time people decide to buy they have no money because you also get wage cuts at the same time in a deflationary cycle. The rich get richer with deflation because their money grows in value, but the poor ultimately get poorer.

That is what is happening in China now. And the peasantry already was struggling; it's going to get a hell of a lot worse for the average Chinaman.

The problem of China is it is a command economy, a Fascist-style economy with corporate/government partnership (with government being far and away the senior partner) and the corporations are generally owned by party members. Crony capitalism we sometimes call it. This hollows out an economy because it is ultimately aimed at the good of the corporate owners (of whom G.K. Chesterton once quipped "the difference between a capitalist and a communist is a bigger paycheck" but he meant under a crony capitalist system like the Nazis had) and for the benefit of the government. The people in such a system get the leavings, and only then to guarantee they stay in the labor force.

The author of the linked article argues China is doing now what Japan did back in the nineties and he believes the same result is now happening to China. Probably true but Japan had a more free system than does China, even though they had a lot of government partnership with corporations (and you may remember Bill Clinton and Al Gore bragged and bragged on the Japanese system and how we needed that in America.) Japan was riding high until they started this fascist economic thing, and I have always known China was a Potemkin Village, a beautiful mask without a person behind it. The huge population and the ability to undercut the export market is what made the mask for them, but in the end their own people couldn't buy what they were making.

This is the inevitable end for any economy planned and controlled by government. Only truly free economies have any staying power when the cold wind blows.

It's getting chilly now in China and they are in peril, so there is every reason to expect them to do what all tinhorn dictatorships do - go on a foreign adventure of some sort.

The Chicoms are not going to go quietly into that good night. They have long bragged this is "their" century and have darkly warned war with the United States is inevitable. They may not be willing to go directly at us but watch for them making a move somewhere else in the world.

The most logical and softest target would be Siberia. The Russians wouldn't be able to stop them now, not unless they used nuclear weapons. But it would permanently break the relationship between the two countries and China needs Russia as an ally. They are part of the Axis.

Taiwan? Perhaps; lord knows they have coveted Taiwan since the Nationalists retreated to the island. But the U.S. would probably stop them under Donald Trump; easier to wait for a weaker President.

I'm not really sure where else they could act but I suspect they are going to have to do something soon. And of course now we have a potential plague pandemic...

We are sitting on a powder keg, not just with China and Russia and Iran. It looks remarkably similar to early 2014.

Anyway I think China's days as an economic superpower are numbered. Trump is squeezing the life out of their economy and they are being starved for things they need like oil. Asian oil isn't very helpful to them because it would be a mother to build pipelines over the Himalayas. They need oil from Iran and from Russia and they just aren't getting enough right now.

It is inevitable there will be shortages of all sorts of goods, and in fact as I point out in this article they are hoarding all kinds of stuff; gold, fertilizer, antibiotics, etc. They may well be planning for war.

War is never easy when you have an economic malaise though, and so they really need an existential threat without actual battlefield losses. Xi Jinping is in a bind.

(While I do not believe we are where we would need to be to witness Armageddon we are pretty close in terms of political and economic and cultural alignments. It will be something that stops the flow of oil from the Middle East that will trigger the Chinese invasion, and Russia will be brought into a war in Syria/Lebanon/Israel, something less clear than the Chinese involvement. And of course the Arab world will be in the thick of it, being in their backyard. Europe and the "West" of course will be the Big Dog in this, the Kingdom of the Antichrist.)

At any rate we live in interesting times, as the ancient Chinese curse would say. I suspect China will do something. Not sure what yet but something.

They, like everyone else in the world, can't wait for Donald Trump to leave office. IF the GOP loses the elections then Trump becomes a lame duck and China could take action against, say, Taiwan because Trump would be stopped from doing much by the Democrat-controlled Congress. The REPUBLICAN House has already voted to end the Iran War by exercising the War Powers Act (but it died in the Senate); change the balance of power and both chambers could well pass it. The War Powers Act does not require a 2/3 majority and the Democrats will probably change the Senate rules to rid themselves of that pesky filibuster when they take power - something John Tune refused to do.

If China invaded Taiwan the Democrats would probably invoke the War Powers Act and stop any military involvement by the United States, handing Xi and his thugs the victory they crave.

As it is the U.S. would be hard-pressed to engage in military combat with China; we've used up so much of our hardware against Iran. And China would have plenty of drones to fight with. Nobody has yet come up with a good defense against drone warfare, since a drone squadron doesn't care about losses; they are cheap to make and do not risk any lives.

We live in interesting times.
