Is this good? While on the surface it sounds like a great idea it gives government power over trade schools they hitherto have not enjoyed. Control the funding and you control the entity.
Pell Grants for Trade Schools: Eligibility, Application, & Benefits
If we get another Biden like Administration how long will it be before the government begins putting the screws to these schools to implement DEI?
But there are practical reasons to be concerned about this too; Pell grants are part of what drove the prices of traditional universities through the roof in the first place. This is free money and it encouraged those who were not serious students or who were trying to "find" themselves to waste a few years hanging out at the U. coffee shops and enjoying campus life. And since the schools had a guarantee from the government they raised tuition and other costs, happily, and accepted mediocre students, or worse, the professional protester types. The money was just as green for a serious scholar as for a pot-smoking hippie1 This is basic supply and demand; subsidize something and there will be more demand, which will limit the supply and the prices will rise. Trade schools now are a bargain because they aren't that expensive and you get an education that will actually serve you in the real world. But that won't last; certainly not the bargain part and if the government gets it's hooks into the curriculum the "serve in the real world" part won't work either.
I had a friend who was an auto-mechanic (we miss you Wayne!) and he learned on the job, from his father who owned a shop. He used to sneer at the school-educated certified mechanics because, as he said, they learned a lot of theory but didn't really grasp the practicality of it. They had to learn THAT on the job. Now this was when trade schools were still places the average person would not want to attend (since most higher ed types seek white collar jobs) and so they were much more focused on teaching how to actually do the work. But even then there was a lot of theory and procedure that was impractical in the real world. That will only get much worse as trade schools are mainstreamed and government funded.
Just look at places like Boeing, which has been having all sorts of problems with their aircraft. No question in my mind it's because of DEI policies in the company putting unqualified people in maintenance. OH, and these people probably ARE qualified ON PAPAER even now, having benefitted from affirmative action programs that got them their paper (and got their customers their tombstones).
Government funding of trade schools will only make such things worse.
So we are basically looking to do to trade schools what we did to regular universities. Government funding ruined them, and I fear it will ruin the trade schools equally.
Americans have GOT to stop looking to government for solutions and return to looking to themselves - and the free market. This is exactly what we are witnessing; a lack of faith in freedom. Government is not God thought many believe it to be so (and that goes all the way back to Jean Jacques Rousseau). The law of unintended consequences always ends up coming into play (and many of those are INTENDED CONSEQUENCES, which is even worse.)
So I think this is a bad idea; it will drive up costs, drive down quality, and ruin what is a big opportunity for an alternate path to success in life. We need to be taking government's OUT of education, not transferring it from universities to trade schools.

To quote a fine piece of toilet literature "no matter how they shake or dance the last drop always ends in their pants".
Fact Check: Trump's False Claims about Washington D.C.
Here are a few examples of the utter folly of what the Left is trying to do:
Violent crime in Washington is down.
Trump didn't say Washington was the most violent city in America. He has been quite explicit; it's more dangerous than any state in America (they need to learn to actually listen) and it's our nation's capital which means it's the place foreign nationals go when they come here. If one is hosting guests in their homes they at least clean up the living room. Often the bedroom is not dealt with but the door is closed.
Also, Trump has the POWER to legally do this, which he does not have in other, more dangerous cities. If Trump were to send troops to my hometown St. Louis there would be a huge explosion from the Democrats and the media and Trump would likely be impeached (of course that will happen regardless of what he does if the Donks take back power). It's not legal for him to do it. But Washington is the Federal District, and didn't even run it's own affairs until 1973. And the law granting this is quite plain; the President can take steps to renationalize the city in the event of an emergency, and he has 30 days BY LAW before he must get Congressional approval. Everything Mr. Trump did was legal. No doubt Trump would like to do this in other crime-riddled cities but is constrained by that little niggling detail called the Law.
The article continues:
Oh?
The head of the police union, Gregg Pemberton, says police statistics are "ridiculous" and claims it was an open secret cops were instructed to downgrade the charges of criminals on paper to make it appear crime was dropping.
In point of fact there is nothing the D.C. government can point to that would explain this mysterious drop in crime. I made this exact same case a while back when the FBI under Joe Biden came out with crime stats showing a ridiculous drop in crime - a drop that turned out to be another act of gaslighting. D.C. has pretty much followed suit. It's not the amount of crime but the reporting of crime that is dropping.
The very appropriately named Muriel Bowser (man is SHE a dog), Mayor of Washington, ttried to claim it was all her doing:
And yet she doesn't tell us what those reforms were. That's because her reforms actually spiked crime in all probability. (Also notice how she blames the Covid lockdowns rather than her weak-as-water law enforcement policies.) Oh, I thought the Covid lockdowns were supposed to be the solution - seems they were a huge part of the problem after all.
While Bowser says she was not a defund-the-police advocate at minimum she was a Democrat and most of her party favored doing that.
It should be pointed out that ALL the major crime infections are in big cities run entirely by Democrats. You can't get around that; they are quite comfortable with violent crime as long as it serves their political ends.
Mayor Bowser may be relatively moderate in her approach to the police, but she's still a Democrat and she also doesn't want Donald Trump to profit at her expense. That is what is happening now and she knows it. So do the people "fact checking" Mr. Trump.
There is nothing to fact check, frankly. One wonders why these "fact checkers" didn't fact check Mayor Bowser first? Anybody?
What they fear, what the entire Democratic Party and their media allies fear more than anything, is Trump proving things like crime can be stopped just by enforcing the law. The Democrats have systematically dismantled the old order where we arrested, tried, and convicted criminals in favor of a soft approach using social workers and DEI (and many of these Democrats knew this wouldn't work but pushed it anyway because they wanted to do what Saul Alinsky suggested "rub raw the sores of discontent".) Trump is about to prove that crime, like so many other seemingly intractable problems, is actually easily fixed. So many of America's problems have been running rampant because the ruling class wanted them to do so. Trump is exposing the nudity of the emperor.
So they will fight him tooth and nail. Be prepared for a shooting in D.C. by a guardsman and an explosion comparing this to the Boston Massacre or My Lai in Vietnam.
That is the only hope the Donkeys have at this moment; they need a rallying point. I assure you they will creat4e one if they can't find one. Anyone remember Trayvon Martin? Mike Brown?
This is a model of the very things which have cost the Democrats. People are now wise to their gaslighting and hair-splitting. You'd think this "fact check" stupidity would be over now.

Here is yet another angel to dance on the pinheads of Climate Alarmism.
NASA's Tiny Prefire Satellites Just Uncovered a Hidden Driver of Earth's Storms
The article states:
[...]
\At the center of PREFIRE are two advanced spectrometers created by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. These instruments detect light in the far-infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum and can sense 10 times more of these wavelengths than any comparable device. The data provides scientists with new details about processes such as the melting and freezing of surface ice, seasonal snow changes, and variations in cloud cover.
"The PREFIRE satellites show that at these longer wavelengths, the amount of radiation going into space can differ from one type of ice to another by as much as 5%,” said Brian Drouin, PREFIRE’s project scientist at JPL. "Measurements that look at the same areas but with shorter wavelengths do not show this difference.
So different kinds of ice impact the transmission of longwave radiation back into space differently.
Well,well,well...
In fact the 20 some-odd climate models predicting a warming caused by the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide don't take any of this into account. Never have.
It should also be pointed out that the models - and the solar models used by NASA - do not take into account changes in wavelengths in solar irradiance (SSI,or Spectral Solar Irradiance)' NASA sticks with the standard TSI (Total Solar Irradiance) and doesn't deviate from that. Those measurements show no increase in solar activity, perhaps a slight decline even, but the shorter wavelengths have actually increased over the last fifty years and the longer ones have decreased, and we have no idea how that affects climate. For example, the infrared has shown up to 6% decline at 2400 nm while the shorter wavelengths have increased. Much of the infrared that comes to Earth is reflected by clouds but the ultraviolet is absorbed by the atmosphere and the sea and the ground.
It's like cooking with a microwave oven. The oven doesn't get hot to the touch but it heats the food therein. My toaster oven (which sits right next to my microwave) gets very hot to the touch and takes much longer to heat the same food. It's not about the total energy but the wavelengths involved.
Yet none of this is taken into account by the climate models. And land use changes are soft-peddled by these same models even though they have a profound impact on surface temperatures. A blacktop is much hotter than a forest. A blacktop with a huge air conditioner running full blast is even hotter.
Medieval scholars were mocked by modern folks for some of their more esoteric concerns. A big argument in the Middle Ages was about how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. Modernists scofffed at the foolish debate, yet here we are with an equally foolish debate over HOT AIR and we keep finding more angels on that particular pinhead. Increasingly it appears that Global Warming aka Climate Change has a great many fathers, most of whom were spawned by Mother Nature. It is increasingly clear it's not about our own breath being blown back in our faces.

Milwaukee hired a murderer who served twenty years in prison to head up a task force to reduce violence.
You can't make this stuff up (which is why it's in Not the Bee).
FTA:
Here's the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
Procell brings a personal and professional background in re-entry work, programs meant to help those who leave incarceration get back on the right path. As a teenager in Milwaukee, he killed a rival gang member in 1995 and spent over 20 years in prison, he told the Shepherd Express in May.
Procell was just fifteen when the crime was committed.
Milwaukee had already named three finalists to take this job leading the Office of Community Wellness and Safety. Procell was not one of the finalists, but the mayor picked him anyways (sic).
Liberals are bat-crap crazy! There are some "lived experiences" that should disqualify a person. By this reasoning we should put a mafiosa in charge of the FBI organized Crime task force, or put Bill Clinton in charge of an outreach for youths to abstain from sex,or Hillary doing alcohol abuse outreach.

No vote fraud in America?
Multiple Leaders in Michigan Muslim Community Caught in Ballot Stuffing, Residency Fraud, Forgery Cases
Gee; for a country with elections clean as the wind-driven snow we sure do seem to be turning up a lot of little "irregularities" these dasys where voting is concerned.
And so many of them go to the immigrants, whom we were assured would not be able to vote because "it's illegal" and we all know that people from other countries won't break our laws - even when they broke our laws to get here in the first place.
I imagine the media would be all over this if this community was strongly MAGA.

I agree; people keep watching it, thus rewarding the league. If the NFL would suffer the same kind of boycott as did Anheuser Bush over Bud Lite and that he-she spokesxi they hired they wuld soon change their tune. But as long as they continue making lots of money while insulting America they will continue.
That's why I'm a fan of the UFL now. We have football, just not a bunch of entitled millionaires pretending to be oppressed.
NFL goes super ‘woke’ yet again — but honestly, we’re all to blame…
Culture and sports are a huge part of the Fabian Socialist scheme to incrementally turn America into a Communist entity, and they have used sports for decades to drive societal change, going back to Jackie Robinson and Jack Johnson. (While that may have been a good change, allowing black people to participate, the fact is it was a top-down change and not organic evolution of thinking by the public.) If you doubt my statement all one must do is listen to the political musings of most sports media, who think far too much alike and always progressively so. They are the ones who support rule changes making the officiating more important and thus conditioning Americans to accept draconian rule making in society at large. They are the ones who are disgusted by, say, hockey fights, which the fans love but the league now frowns upon and often the cameramen at hockey games won't even show the fights. They are the ones who support rule changes making sports softer, weaker, less interesting (like cutting the length of boxing matches, or adding new pentalties for "tackling in the grass" or other things that turn sports into a ballet.) They support recruiting more "minotities and women" into traditionally white sports like NASCAR, but not recruiting more white people into the NFL or NBA. They've pushed the WNBA for years even though nobody wants to watch it. Sports has been a huge part of the Progressive project.
Well, we need to reward those who won't knuckle under to Wokism, and punish those who do.
So until America rejects the NFL for what they are doing they will keep doing it. Why? Ultimaately they feared being regulated to death by the government over this concussion business, and they want the government off it's back. But also because I suspect the people in power - the owners and the Commissioner - want it. They think the future is there and that the white working class is no longer relavant and figure Trump is just an anomalie, to be ridden out until the return of the "rightful rules", the Left. The NFL is the worst sort of capitalist, the cronies who give the ruling class what they want in hopes of being eaten last. Communists always succeed with the help of capitalists. It's why Lenin said "they will sell us the rope with which we will hang them."
So I say let us send them into early retirement. I will support the UFL unless and until they turn on America, but I will not watch an NFL game anymore. I see no reason to support people who think I suck and should dry up and blow away.

Democrats and their media allies keep telling us that Judge Hannah Dugan, the partisan hack who helped a thug in her court escape from ICe in violation of the law, cannot be prosecuted because of separation of powers. So what are they going to say about this?
This Rhode Island attorney general was all liquored up and arrested by the police. She demanded to be let out of it because of her stature.
Question; does being a powerful person grant you immunity from the law? If not in this case (and it's on bodycam) then why in Dugan's?
There is a reason why the statue of Lady Justice stands blidfolded. It means the law is blind to everything BUT justice,or is supposed to be so.

And then there were three.
Indiana woman charged with making Trump death threats on social ...
She actually went to Washington so likely planned to carry that out.
Trump seems to get more assassination attempts or threats than did Abraham Lincoln. There were three attempts on Lincoln's life, the third being fatal. Of course Lincoln didn't have the Secret Service to protecthim. Trump has now faced two actual attempts and a very credible threat.
This is how deranged the Left has become. They couldn't beat him politically so they resort to violence, like slow and vicious children.

Missouri's very own Attorney General is headed to the FBI to share duties with Dan Bongino.
That is great news; Bailey has been an excellent AG here in Missouri, filing lawsuits against all the leftist stupidity happening here. He's a fighter.
I had hoped Trump would choose him for U.S. AG back when he picked Patel (of whom I'm still not totally convinced about). Bailey had the extra qualification of having no ties to the D.C. swamp and was unlikely to knife the President in the back after his appointment. I've always thought Trump needs to choose people from outside of Washington and it's fetid skunkwaters.
Only outsiders can drain the swamp; anyone from inside of it will simply wind up refreshing it.

How Robert Mueller sabotaged the Trump-Putin meeting in Helsinki back in 2018.
Mueller's indictment of Russian nationals (who were in Russia and thus would never testify in an American court) over the hack of the Democrat's server appears to have been designed to throw a monkey wrench in the Trump administration's diplomacy.
Remember; the FBI never examined those servers. The DNC hired CRowdstrike to do it and the FBI just accepted Crowdstrike's word on the matter.
What this did was make any agreement with Putin illigitimate and to tar Donald Trump for it. This was all a part of the "Trump colluded with Russia" hoax to bring his administration down.
From the article:
The fact that Clapper was pushing a false narrative to undermine Trump is further corroborated by an earlier DNI report from 2016, released by Gabbard last month, which stated that the FBI and NSA "lack sufficient technical details to correlate the information posted online to Russian state-sponsored actors,” meaning there was no way to determine whether Russia had actually hacked the DNC.
And it was in this climate that Mueller filed the indictments to make Trump - who had already expressed doubts about Russian involvement with the DNC servers -look like a for-hire underling of Putin.
One wonders if this was a hack at all, or rather a deliberate leak to be used to frame Russia and Trump.
When one of the heads of Crowdstrike testified about the hack he had to admit there was no evidence of anything going missing. A strange hack indeed.
The article continues:
The new release by Gabbard is a vindication for Trump, who stood alone in 2018 pushing back against the false narrative while nearly everyone else, including his own team, was fueling it. It strengthens Trump’s position ahead of the upcoming summit.
No doubt the media was going to accuse Trump of carrying Putin's water at this summit. They can't now without reminding everyone of just how they lied to destroy Mr. Trump and his policies.

Conservative Treehouse asks one simple, completely ignored question: what do the Ukreainian People want?
Nobody is asking that. Yet Zelensky, who has installed himself as dictator, being 18 months past the expiration of his term, has plunging popularity precisely because the Ukrainian People are tired of war and want a negotiated settlement. Zelensky doesn't want that because he thinks he's going to expand his territory with the help of NATO and the Wesetern states. When the media speaks about what "Ukraine wants" it's speaking about what is good for Zelensky, who is only in power thanks to machinations by the CIA and other western powers in the first place. (YOu may remember the Orange Revolution which displaced the elected, pro-Russian government was engineered by the CIA and Zelensky was no doubt hand-picked by them even now.)
If we are to support Ukraine we should insist on free and fair elections. Otherwise we aren't lliving up to our supposed defense of "democracy". Ukraine is no democracy, not anymore, if it ever was.
While I have no problem with letting nations be governed as they see fit, the fact is the media and the ruling class all make a big issue of "democracy" (something we don't have in the first place; democracy was hated by the Founding Fathers as the final stage before despotism) and yet they conveniently forget about it when it suits them.
BTW Zelensky has no class.

U.S. Senatory Cory 'Big Wind' Booker, old Spartacus himself, made this utterly ridiculous statement about the arrest of Judge Hannah Montana Dugan, the Democrat dressed in black who helped illegal aliens slip out the back door of her court to evade ICE:
Odd; Booker didn't seem to think the FBI took "extreme and dangerous steps" when they produced the Russiagate hoax against Mr. Trump, who won anyway and they pusheed it while he was a sitting President. Nor did he object when, as soon as Mr. Trump left office, the FBI raideed his very home and PLANTED EVIDENCE, or staged it at least, to implicate Mr. Trump in a crime that would disqualify him from running for the Presidency at least in the mind of the public. You may remember that raid too; the agents arranged files they had planted there and marked "Top Secret" and they have since admitted to doing that.
Where was Spartacus when Jack Smith was colluding with Fanni willis in prosecuting Trump and his people in Georgia? Where was Big Wind when Popodopoulis was sent entraped and sent to jail? Mike Flynn? Steve Bannon? Where was he when the FBI raided Roger Stone's home in a predawn raid and dragged an old man out of his house? Seems to me Mr. Booker has a massive case of amnesia where his own side's little legal bending are concerned.
And the man is either an idiot or a liar, and I suspect the latter; judges cannot break the law any more than anyone else. If Hanna Barbera was caught speeding on her way to the courthouse does she get a pass? If she's drunk and hits somebody is it excused because she's a judge? Being in the judiciary is not a get-out-of-jail free card. This woman knowingly, willfully violated federal law and Booker knows it. That is the newest Democratic tactic, to break the law and then whine TRUMP is a tyrant for enforcing the laws that they themselves have often voted in favor of.
I am reminded of Star Wars Episode Three: the Revenge of the Sith where the Chancellor Palpatine, who is evil incarnate, is fighting one of the Jedi and he speaks to Anakin Skywalker "see, I told you, the Jedi are taking over" when in fact it was HE who was taking over. That is how the Democrats are approaching this, accusing Mr. Trump of doing what they themselves are doing. Booker knows it's a lie.
Eduardo Flores-Ruiz had been deported in 2013 but snuck back into the country. He was in Hannah Banana's courtroom for not one but three domestic abuse charges and was due to be deported as soon as ICE took him into custody. The judge violated at least three federal laws in spiriting the illegal perp away.
Imagine if a judge had done that with, say, one of the J6 protesters. That judge would have been arrested, sent to Alcatraz (which they would have reopened just for said judge) and been disbarred for life, maybe even deported.
(I'm thinking of the movie Johnnie Dangerously where the mobster Morony is deported to Sweden "says not even from there" the news headline reads.)
In fact Mr. Flores-Ruiz had beaten both a man and a woman quite severely. So Mr. Booker is in favor of domestic abuse I suppose. I guess that's what a guy like Spartacus would enjoy!
At any rate you may want to read this analysis of the whole situation and the lies being told at Just the Facts.
In fact The arrest of Judge Dugan is Justice at it's finest. Every i was dotted and t crossed. She committed a lawless act and undoubtedly because she thought she was RESISTing the Trump administration. It was a purely political act by this woman; she denied the victims their day in court and broke the law. She should get some jail time and a permanent revocation of her law license, and she should be removed from her position as judge. Of course this is Wisconsin; they might actually promote her to a higher post.
Everyone who is lying about this needs to be held accountable. Spartacus Booker for starters.

Bill called this one! The Gang Green IS claiming the oceans are boiling!
Earths oceans are Boiling and it's Worse than we Thought
Now, there are hot vents in the ocean floor where the water is hot enough to boil but they are very rare. Boiling water kills all life - it's what we call PASTEURIZATION.
I would point out that Venus once had oceans that were just below the boiling point of water, and when the sun warmed they boiled away, leaving Venus bone dry. AND blast furnace hot.
Claiming the Earth's oceans are boiling is beyond hyperbole. It's just plain idiotic.
This is a measure of desperation on their part. They are losing in the court of public opinion and have to double-down on the hysteria. It's essentially a hail-mary pass.

Since there has been no smoking gun loss of ice or other such evidence of global warming the Gang Green is now in a panic over fresh water loss which they claim is going to kill us all (as if water does not recycle).
According to the article:
But the very core of climate change theory is that more water vapor will be in the atmosphere BECAUSE OF PLANETARY WARMING and this will drive more warming. Yet here we are now being told the world is getting dryer and the geniuses who write this stuff can't figure out that a drying world is a COOLER world, not a warmer one.
This in fact completely wrecks the hypothesis that carbon dioxide release is warming the planet. If it were it would be wetter, not dryer.
the article continues:
"These findings send perhaps the most alarming message yet about the impact of climate change on our water resources,” said Jay Famiglietti, the study’s principal investigator and a Global Futures Professor with the ASU School of Sustainability. "Continents are drying, freshwater availability is shrinking, and sea level rise is accelerating. The consequences of continued groundwater overuse could undermine food and water security for billions of people around the world. This is an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ moment — we need immediate action on global water security.”
Well, we know that California has been in a drought, certainly, not at all an uncommon thing. But California's problems are mostly caused by an unwillingness to store water; they want it flowing into the sea to protect the darter snail or some other sort of bait fish. Millions of gallons of water are wasted that way - and then when they see a shortage they blame it on "climate change".
Much of this is driven by the environmentalism of the past half century. Dams have been pulled down, levies have been built to channel water to the sea rather than let it soak the lowlands where people want to build, etc. In the last few years California took down a number of major dams and let the water in their reservoir simply flow to the sea, wasted.
The authors of the study ramble on about how we've passed a "tipping point" (liberals love tipping points) and claim the Earth is drying up and blowing away, but the planet has been greening for decades now; there are more green zones that were once desert than ever. How can those two coincide? Because human beings are using more water to make them green, that's how. If you want to turn desert into oasis you have to use water.
Just take a look at Las Vegas.
So what areas are affected?
The very areas where population has increased dramatically and where water resources are now being stressed by agriculture and many, many thirsty people. These cities were small towns until air conditioning made them tolerable and now they are major concernes, sucking up water.
And here we all chase after the will-o-the-wisp of "green energy" and the like, wasting money on it, when we should be looking at new ways to desalinate water. The water is there; it's just a matter of getting the salt out of it. We can run pipelines and aquaducts to where the water is needed once we do that.
Cheap desalination would revolutionize human society. The whole world can turn green.
But instead we're working on electric cars and wind mills and solar panels, all poor excuses for what we have at present.
Nature herself desalinates water when it evaporates. Water is an entirely renewable resource. It's only precious in places that never had much. Worry about the loss of groundwater is a vain effort because ground water will renew as long as we don't take more than is there, and as long as we take steps to guide it and to store it.
The article concludes with a call to action:
The research will also support an upcoming World Bank Group flagship report that will delve deeper into these findings, including the human and economic implications of continental drying, and present actionable solutions for countries to address the growing freshwater crisis.
Always with them the sky is falling and doomsday is just around the corner.
