Happy Belated Columbus Day

Selwyn Duke

In honor of Columbus Day, I'm going to put my 2017 essay, in which I defended Columbus, at the top of my website.

It will provide you with many good arguments that you can use when debating those who besmirch him. You'll find it unique, I'm sure.

Paypal Commits' Hari Kari

Lance Sjogren

Due to paypal's disturbing "trial balloon" about levying a $2500 fine on people if they express an opinion paypal disagrees with I have cancelled my paypal account.

I noticed that Tim Pool is pissed as hell about what paypal did because he lost paid subscribers due to this fiasco. He said he's looking into legal recourse.

Paypal is dropping like a stone.

In an inadvertent way, they have done a great service to society by giving a glaring example of what a menace to society the wokeist corporate oligarchy is.

Follow the Science on Human Life

Warner Todd Huston

If you claim there is no way to say when human life starts, you are speaking from politics, not science. That "clump of cells" is nothing else BUT human life. After all, it can't accidentally develop into a tree, or a chicken. It ONLY develops into a human. Ergo, it is human life in all cases and at all times.

Tim adds:

"Follow the Science" they demand, but when we point out that science is quite clear on when life begins or what is a man or a woman they balk. "Nobody knows" they insist when it's their particular political ox being gored. Well I say "follow the science" and demand they admit this is a human being they are killing - or that a man is a man whether he likes to play dress-up or not.

Media Empire

This from C Gregg Carroll:

This is what dishonest journalism looks like. In the antepenultimate

paragraph of a page three story in today’s Post about Republicans seeking more poll watching equity, Patrick Marley and Yvonne Wingett Sanchez, accuse Republicans of making voting changes. These reporters, writing from one of the most liberal college towns in America, Madison, Wisconsin, know good and well but IGNORE the fact that Democrats led efforts in thirty-seven states to change voting rules in the run up to the 2020 election. "In the swing states that Trump lost,” they say, "Republicans have tried to change voting policies, often seeking to reduce mail-in voting, eliminate ballot drop boxes and tighten rules on absentee ballots. Meanwhile, they have sought to recruit more Republican poll workers and questioned any disparities they find.”

Tim adds:

So typical. Accuse us of doing what their side has been doing. The media is the cornerstone of the Leftist empire. Without it they would collapse like a house of cards. But people STILL believe the media.

Eye Spy Biden

Timothy Birdnow

Joe Biden has quietly expanded the power of the surveillance state.

First he amended an Obama--era executive order removing safeguards on the use of intelligence on private individuals.

The site Formerly Known as Infidel Bloggers Alliance has the poop:[link]

The Executive Order of October 7, 2022 (Enhancing Safeguards for United States Signals Intelligence Activities), establishes enhanced safeguards for United States signals intelligence activities that supersede the safeguards for personal information collected through signals intelligence established by Presidential Policy Directive 28 of January 17, 2014 (Signals Intelligence Activities) (PPD-28). [White House]
So what was so problematic about the Presidential Policy Directive 28 that Biden Admin had to repeal? We encourage you to read the entire directive, but the following passage strikes us as interesting in light of the fact that Biden just repealed it:
The collection of signals intelligence shall be authorized by statute or Executive Order, proclamation, or other Presidential directive, and undertaken in accordance with the Constitution and applicable statutes, Executive Orders, proclamations, and Presidential directives.
(b) Privacy and civil liberties shall be integral considerations in the planning of U.S. signals intelligence activities. The United States shall not collect signals intelligence for the purpose of suppressing or burdening criticism or dissent, or for disadvantaging persons based on their ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion. Signals intelligence shall be collected exclusively where there is a foreign intelligence or counterintelligence purpose to support national and departmental missions and not for any other purposes.
(c) The collection of foreign private commercial information or trade secrets is authorized only to protect the national security of the United States or its partners and allies. It is not an authorized foreign intelligence or counterintelligence purpose to collect such information to afford a competitive advantage[4] to U.S. companies and U.S. business sectors commercially.
(d) Signals intelligence activities shall be as tailored as feasible. In determining whether to collect signals intelligence, the United States shall consider the availability of other information, including from diplomatic and public sources. Such appropriate and feasible alternatives to signals intelligence should be prioritized.[Obama White House Archives]

CA More Screwed Up Than Africa

Frank Lasee

CA is all screwed up. Biden and the Democrats say that they are energy model for our nation. No thanks.

🤣🤣🤣 A French national railroad company ended up leaving California to pursue projects in war-torn North Africa, which it said was a less "dysfunctional” place.

Who Cares About Putin

Maurizio Morabitu

Save me from my friends, said Claude Louis Hector de Villars, Marshal of France in the time of King Sun.

And in fact... boundaries were often set depending on who won and still had more power

This is the normal condition throughout Europe. Borders and States themselves have not been assigned by divine interventions.

This is why we shouldn't be outraged if a new war changes them again. The real scandal was failing to prevent war with the right mix of diplomacy and restraint - mistakes that Putin has nothing to do with.

Bad Putin, Mad Putin, Sick Putin... Childish concepts compared to our very grave shortcomings, when defending our interests there is an old man from Washington, a handful of bureaucrats from Brussels, an arms salesman from London and a Guy who transformed the void No fake authority from Rome, not to mention the Gradassi featherweight from Paris and Ottawa.

With friends like this ........ who cares about putin?

Premodern Survival Mode

Kim Rogalin

The global economy has just been dealt another highly unpleasant surprise. The Opec+ cartel’s decision to substantially cut its output quotas, despite biden begging them (while he destroys our supply) not to, will severely test Europe and the US as they head into an economic downturn. This is especially the case as western countries have increasingly limited options to respond. It acts as another reminder of the collective west’s limits to enforce its will in a world where it is heavily dependent on others for key natural resources.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) and its allies, including Russia, whose Ruble has gotten a lot stronger since our sanctions, agree to cut production. The Saudis and Russia are underscoring the shear stupidity of biden’s limits on oil and gas production, and his non-emergency release of oil from the national petroleum stockpile.

Analysts estimate this would lift crude prices to about $100 a barrel from the $80 to $90 range of the last month. OPEC countries may be seeking to boost their budgets to cope with rising food prices and the strong dollar. But the timing couldn’t be worse for biden and liberal/ democrats.

The biden regime has released 200 million barrels or so from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve over the past year and about one million barrels a day in recent months, no doubt worried that a taper would increase gasoline prices before the midterm election. But oil traders aren’t naifs. They know the releases will soon end and the biden regime will also have to start refilling the reserve, which is at its lowest level since 1984. Much of the oil that remains can’t be efficiently processed by U.S. refiners. So, if there were a true national emergency—say, a cyber attack on a major oil pipeline—the U.S. might not have enough inventory to keep supply flowing.

To refill the reserve, the biden regime may soon have to buy oil at a higher price than it has been selling it. Sell high and buy higher wasn’t supposed to be the strategy. A smarter strategy to reduce U.S. energy prices would have been to encourage more domestic production, kinda like Trump did.

So, to summarize, liberal/ democrats, in order to get the vote from environmental extremists, hamstrung domestic production and begged OPEC to make up the difference, and instead they’ve got a wide-open opportunity to drive the price through the roof and cripple the U.S. economy

What’s coming is a dystopian nightmare. Europe will be first, they will burn dirty wood this winter as their civilization reverts from postmodern abundance to premodern survival, next will be us for while the biden regime ossifies oil fields, cancels new federal oil and gas leases, stops pipeline construction and hectors investors to shun fossil fuels, the supply drops dramatically, scarcity naturally follows, prices soar. The middle class has now mortgaged its upward mobility to ensure that they might afford gasoline, heating oil, and skyrocketing electricity. More pain will follow.

CRT and the War on the West

Roger Bell

This is so good I have borrowed it for everyone  to read.

Daniel Jupp at his very best here:

Critical Race Theory, which sits behind all the lies on race and division there, was primarily invented by Derrick Bell at Harvard in the 1970s. Cultural Marxism more broadly (of which CRT is one component) was funded by the KGB as a new front in the Cold War (see the famous Yuri Besmenov interview). China has continued the Soviet tactic of funding the internal divisions of the West, the Qataris do the same (lots of woke spokespersons are funded by them). For the last 30 years, at least, George Soros and his Open Society Foundation and it’s affiliates have been working to destroy the West. Big Tech was vital to help steal the 2020 election, people like Zuckerberg. The WEF of course have mad great reset and transhumanist aims which are coming to fruition. Bill Gates shares these. Vanguard and BlackRock, the two largest investment ‘advisors’ in the world, use controlling and significant share portfolios in almost every business there is to enforce woke attitudes and WEF aims. Along the way virtually every media outlet was purchased by one or another of the above.

All of these groups and individuals want the West as we knew it destroyed. All of them want a reconfigured society modelled on China with themselves in the position of permanent rule and us in the position of permanent slavery. All of them but particularly the Chinese and the WEF purchase and control the main political parties. All of them have an asset strippers view of the West and a deep contempt for the ordinary mass of mankind.

Biden's "Great" Economy

Steven Chase

Yesterday, Biden spoke about how 'great' our economy was. For whom, I ask?

Look this up: Wages ('real' adjusted for buying power) fell the MOST last month in more than FIFTY YEARS.

And according to the New York Times, nearly ALL first-time home buyers in America are now priced out of the market. High prices plus high mortgage rates make home purchases impossible for all but 5% of shoppers.

White Guilt and Identity Subsidies

James Doogue

The problem isn't that non indigenous people are claiming to be indigenous to get benefits. The problem is that the benefits are race-based, not needs-based. That is both racist and inefficient. Public assistance should only ever be provided based in a genuine need not to achieve a quota, or as reward or compensation for the colour of your skin or ethnic or cultural ancestry.

Ben Fordham

One of Australia’s leading Universities is about to launch an unusual crackdown.

They are targeting students and staff who falsely identify as First Nations people without any proof.

Under new guidelines - scholarship applicants can no longer sign a statutory declaration to confirm they are Indigenous.

Instead - they must produce an identity letter from a Local Aboriginal Land Council or a community-contr olled organisation.

And they also have to pass the Commonwealth’s three-part identity test.

As part of that assessment, their identity has to be accepted by a community in which they live, or previously lived.

Tim adds:

These benefits are not about helping poor people. They are about assuaging white guilt and giving the aborigines "reparations" for white people "taking their land" which they never really occupied or developed. It's the same tired old approach seen around the world to minorities these days; "we were colonial powers and we are guilty, guilty, guilty!" So minorities will be paid handsomely in perpetuity to make up for the "sin" of colonizing what was basically wilderness.

Biden Buys Radiation Drugs

Timothy Birdnow

Joe Biden has purchased $290 million worth of radiation medication.

Note that is not enough to take care of any Americans except his own.

One more piece of evidence we may be treated to the Great Depop through Biden's actions, or lack thereof.

Still No Info on SCOTUS Leaker

Michael Smith

Really wondering why we don't know who leaked Alito's draft Dobbs majority opinion and why more Congressional Republicans aren't making this an issue.

Tim adds:

Now they can figure out who a mass shooter is in hours, or who was the mastermind of a terrorist attack in days at most. But they can't figure this out?  Really?

This tells me the GOP was happy with this. They didn't want this "distraction" and are glad the Democrats are leading the fight here. They know their base - the people they consider hillbilly Bible thumpers - want it, but they think abortion is fine.

We will never make any headway as long as the Republicans are also our opposition.

Same Old Song and Dance

Al Moscowitz

This is, by far, the most dangerous political philosophy in the world today...

Social Justice

Social justice is justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. In Western and Asian cultures, the concept of social justice has often referred to the process of ensuring that individuals fulfill their societal roles and receive their due from society.

This is the definition used by the Social Justice Warriors (SJW).

First of all, none of these SJW seem to care about providing opportunities, only privileges and wealth - without the work.

I'm all for providing opportunities - the opportunity to work, become a productive member of society and THEN receive the privileges and wealth that ALWAYS follows for people who are working hard and providing value.

For these SJW to suggest that they are concerned with "ensuring that individuals fulfill their societal roles" is so laughable and cliché that's it's almost worth assigning immunity from ridicule. I have NEVER seen a self-declared SJW insisting that people fulfill their societal roles - well, unless that role is for the rich to give all of their resources to the poor.

This woke SJW nonsense needs to be stopped.

Tim adds:

It's simply the Marxist vision of "from each according to his ability to each according to his need". It's been tried repeatedly in history and failed. We tried it at Jamestown. We tried it at Plymouth. It's always led to poverty and social chaos and anger.

This just has a different name and some different language, but it's the same tired socialism that has always failed.

I think that the Democrats definitely have to get this woman out there as much as possible. She absolutely should become their campaign point-woman in the run-up to the midterms.

That's my friendly advice, anyway, offered with, ahem, only the best of intentions.
