I remember that. Obama did that to a number of countries. He also used taxpayer money to help his cousin, the socialist Muslim Raila Odinga, win election in Kenya. When that failed he used tax dollars to promote Muslims there. See also here.

 He spent taxpayer dollars to defeat Benjamin Netenyahu in Israel, too.

He violated U.S. law by providing financial aid to the Ukraine in overthrowing the Democratically elected president.

It is interesting to note that the government he helped install has been at the epicenter of things where Trump is concerned; the Ukrainians were facilitated the Steele Dossier against Trump and also are now the center of the impeachment accusations against Trump, who is undoing the Obama legacy.

He interfered with the Honduran transfer of power when Marxist President Manuel Zalaya was removed from office when he tried to unilaterally amend the Constitution so he could remain in power. Obama supported reinstating Zelaya, and he spent taxpayer dollars to pressure the Honduran government, which removed Zelaya in a completely legal way. But we are to forget about all of that!

Coronavirus v. Swine Flu

The fear over the coronavirus is reminiscent of the Swine Flu epidemic. Writing at Canada Free Press Jon Rappaport explains how this newest hysteria is strikingly familiar to the Swine Flu panic a decade ago or so. And he further explains how the Swine Flu panic was ginned up by the CDC and WHO.

From the article:

In the late summer of 2009, the Swine Flu epidemic was hyped to the sky by the CDC [and the World Health Organization]. The CDC was calling for all Americans to take the Swine Flu vaccine.

The problem was, the CDC was concealing a scandal.

At the time, star CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, was working on a Swine Flu story. She discovered that the CDC had secretly stopped counting US cases of the illness—-while, of course, continuing to warn Americans about its unchecked spread.

Understand that the CDC’s main job is counting cases and reporting the numbers.

What was the Agency up to?

Here is an excerpt from my 2014 interview with Sharyl Attkisson:

Rappoport: In 2009, you spearheaded coverage of the so-called Swine Flu pandemic. You discovered that, in the summer of 2009, the Centers for Disease Control, ignoring their federal mandate, [secretly] stopped counting Swine Flu cases in America. Yet they continued to stir up fear about the "pandemic,” without having any real measure of its impact. Wasn’t that another investigation of yours that was shut down? Wasn’t there more to find out?

Attkisson: The implications of the story were even worse than that. We discovered through our FOI efforts that before the CDC mysteriously stopped counting Swine Flu cases, they had learned that almost none of the cases they had counted as Swine Flu was, in fact, Swine Flu or any sort of flu at all! The interest in the story from one [CBS] executive was very enthusiastic. He said it was "the most original story” he’d seen on the whole Swine Flu epidemic. But others pushed to stop it [after it was published on the CBS News website] and, in the end, no [CBS television news] broadcast wanted to touch it. We aired numerous stories pumping up the idea of an epidemic, but not the one that would shed original, new light on all the hype. It [Attkisson’s article] was fair, accurate, legally approved and a heck of a story. With the CDC keeping the true Swine Flu stats secret, it meant that many in the public took and gave their children an experimental vaccine that may not have been necessary.

Well, well, well; Attkisson is hardly a kook, and her reporting has always been excellent. (BTW, does this give you an idea of why the Obama Administration installed spy devices on her computer? But I digress...)

The article continues:

It was routine for doctors all over America to send blood samples from patients they’d diagnosed with Swine Flu, or the "most likely” Swine Flu patients, to labs for testing. And overwhelmingly, those samples were coming back with the result: not Swine Flu, not any kind of flu.

That was the big secret. That’s what the CDC was hiding. That’s why they stopped reporting Swine Flu case numbers. That’s what Attkisson had discovered. That’s why she was shut down.

But it gets even worse.

Because about three weeks after Attkisson’s findings were published on the CBS News website, the CDC, obviously in a panic, decided to double down. If one lie is exposed, tell an even bigger one. A much bigger one.

Here, from a November 12, 2009, WebMD article is the CDC’s response: "Shockingly, 14 million to 34 million U.S. residents - the CDC’s best guess is 22 million - came down with H1N1 swine flu by Oct. 17 [2009].” ("22 million cases of Swine Flu in US,” by Daniel J. DeNoon).

Are your eyeballs popping? They should be.

In the summer of 2009, the CDC secretly stops counting Swine Flu cases in America, because the overwhelming percentage of lab tests from likely Swine Flu patients shows no sign of Swine Flu or any other kind of flu.

 

There is no Swine Flu epidemic.

Then, the CDC estimates there are 22 MILLION cases of Swine Flu in the US.

So…the premise that the CDC would never lie about important matters like, oh, a vaccine causing autism…you can lay that one to rest.

Read the entire article. Suffice it to say the CDC is a government body and as such can be compromised by politics.

So why do it?  Well, it certainly helps hide other news, which may be the whole point. And it can be used to accomplish some things - like creating a database of citizens genes.

But then it could be that there is an outbreak of a new disease.

According to the Associated Press, December of 2019 saw an increase of 47% over the number of firearm sales when compared to December of 2018.

The tallied number of guns sold totaled out to 73,849. The outlet reported that the increase in sales was likely "due to growing fears of increased firearms restrictions backed by Democrats who control the state government.”

Aviary Delayed by Fog

Kobe wasn't the only one imperiled by dense fog.

Kobe Bryant's heliocopter crashed in a dense fog. In fact, they are reporting it was so dense that police choppers were grounded. It didn't help that his pilot was a 24 year old; he probably wasn't adequately experienced, and he probably was cocky.

Be that as it may I had my own run-in with fog this morning. I had gone to the Ozark Hilton last night. It was a bit, uh, chilly for the OH, which employs a state-of-the-art hvac system consisting of a 55 gallon drum with a stove pipe sticking out and a Weber kettle lid for a "door". While I was warm enough inside, I had to stay up pretty much most of the night feeding the fire. I was ready to head home at first light.

It was sunny morning but as I moved north it became increasingly foggy. At one point I almost thought it was a forest fire; the fog was BROWN and made pea soup look like thin gruel. I slowed down, which saved my life; with visibility well under a hundred feet, I suddenly realized there was a tractor-trailer blocking both lanes of the highway.

I locked up the brakes and steered to the side as best I could. Had I been going any faster I would have plowed into that truck. It was completely invisible in the dense fog.

I count my blessings, as I listened to the radio on the way home and heard how Bryant and his family didn't have the good fortune I experienced. They always say to thank God for small miracles. I believe what happened this morning was one.

The Leftward Movement of Corporations

Not content with having a Hildabot liberal as CEO, Starbucks - the company that wanted to harangue customers about race when they were purchasing coffee - has hired a black woman with a record of anti-white male rhetoric.

Schultz stepped down as CEO in 2017, but still remains the executive chairman. Starbucks finally found his replacement, however, when they announced that Rosalind Brewer would serve as the new CEO of Starbucks. Brewer served as CEO of Sam’s Club until earlier this year.

It was an announcement hailed by many in the business community, but not all, as Brewer has a history of controversial statements. In particular, it appears she gets triggered by the sight of white guys in board rooms.

It all goes back to an interview she gave CNN in 2015, in which she seemed to have a problem with too many white men in corporate America.

The Washington Post reported on a particular exchange in the interview. CNN’s Poppy Harlow asked Rosalind Brewer about what it would take to see more women at the top of corporate America. Brewer answered.

"My executive team is very diverse, and I make that a priority,” she told Harlow. "I demand it of my team and within the structure. And then, every now and then, you have to nudge your partners, and you have to speak up and speak out. And I try to use my platform for that. … I try to set an example. I try to mentor many women inside my company and outside the company because I think it’s important.

"And I talk to my suppliers about it. Just today we met with a supplier, and the entire other side of the table was all Caucasian males. That was interesting. I decided not to talk about it directly with [the supplier’s] folks in the room because there were actually no females, like, levels down. So I’m going to place a call to him.”

She called her supplier out on national news.

First, "diversity" doesn't amount to a hill of beans. What fundamental value is there in "diversity" to help sell coffee?  Talent and experience are more important than skin color.  I seem to remember Martin Luther King sought a nation that judged people on the content of their character, not the color of their skin, but here we have skin color being a determinant in hiring and promoting.

Second, how does this serve the stockholders?  Expensive coffee isn't going to sell any better because you have more minorities in the business. Investors care only about one color - green.

Corporate America is voluntarily surrendering profits for social street cred. Why? Who is pushing this? 

This new CEO is going to double down on "wokeness" at the expense of investors. Yet she's there anyway.

Again, I want to know why.  If this were an aberration in corporate America, one person pushing her personal beliefs and a company tolerating it because she made money that would be one thing, but most of corporate America is on board with "social justice" despite there being no economic reason to do so. There is someone, some thing pushing this in spite of profits.  Something corporate America is more afraid of than the stockholders, or their customers.

I would like to know who or what that is.

Even Chick-fil-A, the supposedly Christian and "conservative" company is on board with much of this. They have a vice president of corporate social responsibility and they were supporting religious groups. But  they have cut off funding to the Salvation Army but continue funding other groups. And by other groups we mean liberals.

Granted, they took a beating earlier by activist groups, but then sales increased from normal people.  So why toss normals under the bus?

Chick-fil-A had a legitimate reason to do this; they were being boycotted. But they had friends, and many people consumed their product based on their principles. But the activists won.

Why?  How do they have the money to strangle a major corporation?

Something is rotten in the State of Denmark, if you ask me.

The Folly of Battery Operated Cars

A quick excursion into the reality of batteries.

One barrel of oil contains about sixteen hundred thirty kilowatt-hours of energy and weighs about three hundred pounds.

A Tesla "Powerwall 2" battery holds about thirteen and a half kilowatt-hours of energy and weighs two hundred and fifty pounds.

Therefore, it takes about one hundred and twenty Powerwall 2batteries, weighing thirty THOUSAND pounds, to hold the energy contained in one barrel of oil.

A Powerwall 2 battery plus mounting hardware costs about seven thousand eight hundred US dollars.

Enough Powerwall 2 batteries to store the energy in a single barrel of oil would cost just under a million dollars US.

Get off of fossil fuels?

A QUICK NOTE FROM TIM:

And don't forget you have to CHARGE the batteries, which requires more equipment and a power source. You lose energy in the transference to electricity; a traditional generator using natural gas and a combined heat and power system is at best  80% efficient, and that is the top of the food chain. Most systems are substantially less.  A simple gas turbine has an efficiency around 42%.

Coal burns around 33%.

A solar panel is 15 to 20% efficient, while a windmill is considered pretty efficient at 30 to 40% although there are new bladeless varieties that claim to be almost 60%. But it is clear there is considerable loss of energy between the original source and it's conversion to electricity.

Then you have the loss of energy in transmission. In the U.S. that rate is about 5%, a not insignificant number. See here.

Of course, you have to use energy to make the batteries, too.

While the efficiency of a gas-powered automobile engine is between 20 and 35% it is a direct conversion. You don't have loss from generating, loss from transmission, and loss from manufacturing. You don't have loss from battery discharge. (Car batteries range in relative efficiency from 50 to 90% depending on the type of battery used.)

So it is clear there is considerable extra baggage when trying to power an automobile with batteries.

Andimi was declared missing on Jan. 3 following a raid by the Islamic extremist group in Michika. Video posted online appears to show Andimi being forced into a vehicle by his captors.

Days later, Andimi was seen in a video released by his captors calling on fellow Christian leaders and state government officials to secure his release.

Despite the situation, Andimi said in the video that he was not discouraged because "all conditions that one finds himself is in the hand of God.”

"By the grace of God, I will be together with my wife and my children and all my colleagues,” he said. "If the opportunity has not been granted, maybe it is the will of God.”

On Monday, local sources disclosed to ministry partners in the United States that Andimi was murdered.

A source told the U.S.-based nongovernmental organization Save the Persecuted Christians that Andimi’s family was notified about the pastor’s death by the CAN office in the Adamawa state on Monday.

"They have slaughtered him in Sambisa forest,” a source told Save the Persecuted Christians, according to the nonprofit's Executive Director Dede Laugesen. "They murdered him because he refused to renounce his faith. And because they couldn’t raise the money for his ransom.”

This man is now a saint and is with God.

Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.

If Foreign Collusion is so Bad why is it O.K. for John Kerry

Marc A. Thiessen asks the question nobody is asking but should be:

Democrats routinely express outrage over claims of collusion with a foreign power to undermine our democracy. So where is the outrage over revelations that former secretary of state John Kerry held not one but two secret meetings with Iran’s foreign minister to strategize over how to undermine President Trump’s plans to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal?

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman confirmed the meetings after the Boston Globe broke the news, declaring, "We don’t see the U.S. just as Mr. Trump; the United States is not just the current ruling administration.” Think about what this means. Iran is a terrorist state responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans in Iraq, whose leaders hold rallies where thousands chant "Death to America!” Kerry was working with a sworn enemy of the United States to try to undermine the foreign policy of the elected president of the United States.

I thought we didn’t like Americans who colluded with our enemies.

When I read this all I could think of was a Batman comic  "BAM!", "SMACK!" , "OW!" and then all the criminals flying.

The Democrats are trying to remove Donald Trump from office for allegedly asking the Ukraine to investigate a political rival, but John Kerry actually tried to undermine the President's foreign policy and they weren't the least bit concerned.

Here are some thoughts on Ambassador Yovanovitch

Something that seems to be forgotten here is the fact that Poor Little Marie Y, like every other member of the diplomatic services, and everybody else who works for the Administration, serves at the pleasure of the Presidentand can be fired -- or sacked, if you prefer that word -- at such time as his or her work no longer pleases the President. That goes for President Trump as well as every other President.

Indeed, although it would take a large amount of time, it would eventually save some trouble if every member of the Diplomatic Service, and I include the State Department, would consider himself or herself to be terminated as soon as a new President has been sworn in. The new President could, of course, issue a statement asking everyone to stay on on a temporary basis if they wish, until they have been interviewed and the new President has decided whether or not to retain them. If he decides not to, they will be considered "terminated without prejudice." The same with anyone who does not wish to stay to serve the new President.

Same thing with the DOJ (which includes the FBI) and other "career" services such as the CIA.

And it goes without saying, or should, that these peoples' security clearances are all (I meant to say "should be") revoked when they are canned. If the people end up being retained, it's easy enough to obtain new clearances. That ought to take care of miscreants like Brennan, Crapper and the like. And speaking of them, any of these people who even smells like he's going to go to work for a TV network forfeits a possibility to come back to work for the gummint forever. Even under a different administration.

Amen Dana! About that last, in private business people have to sign non-compete clauses all the time. We had a long time news anchor here in St. Louis named Larry Connors, for example, who got sacked for something he said on Twitter (and it was mild). He was very angry, because a.they made him do Twitter, something he didn't want to do and b.he believed they wanted him out for young blood. He'd been here for probably forty years. (You may have heard of him; he was the news guy who investigated the brothel in the true story that was made into the play and motion picture "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas".)

At any rate, he never got another job in journalism in town because he had signed a non-compete clause. If it works in private industry, why not in government? Surely we can keep these creeps out of the media.

Corona Virus and Beer

In response to Tim's article on the Coronavirus possibly being a Chinese bioweapon I wouldn't put it past 'em. Tim hit a number of nails on the head here. For one thing, they're careless about hygiene and food handling (more about this later on*). And they have a large population to experiment on, about which they don't give a rip.

Remember how certain, er, elements of our society blamed our "Right" for having created the HIV virus? Now, I don't believe for a minute that we did that. But somebody else -- somebody who takes a very dim view of homosexuality -- could have.

* Anyhow, speaking of hygiene etc.: A few years ago, the highly-respected Smithfield pork products company was sold to China, https://www.upi.com/Top_News/Opinion/Outside-View/2013/10/25/Outside-View-Chinas-ownership-of-an-iconic-American-food-company/75821382673840/?ur3=1 and ever since, many people including this writer have refused to buy anything with the name Smithfield on it. My wife sometimes gets into fights with me about it, but so far I have always won. It has meant that I have had to occasionally go outside our usual "supply chain" to get the pork products we want. But "a man's a man for a' that."

I was also going to opine that Coronavirus is something that you get from drinking that awful Mexican yellow beer that comes in the clear bottle, that you have to stick a wedge of lemon into the neck of in order to make it palatable; figured the Mexicans and the Chicoms teamed up on it. At least, I figured somebody teamed up to make it, since the Mexicans and the Chicoms can both make much better beer than that weak stuff! Why, it's worse than Bud Light!

Anyone remember when Corona Beer got in trouble for employees urinating into the vats of beer destined for export to the United States? It was a rumor started by rival Heineken, but it is certainly easy enough to believe. Corona without that lime tastes exactly like what I imagine urine would taste like. It's a terrible beer, and probably should have been named "Montezuma's Revenge" because it was clearly a counter attack on people of European descent.

BTW, you can put a lime in any beer and improve it. I've done it on a number of occasions with other horrible beers. Drink it cold enough and add a lime and you can drink what comes out the hind of an elephant...

Is Coronavirus a Bioweapon?

I had been wondering about this. There is reason to suspect the Corona Virus may be the work of Chinese biowarfare experiments.

The deadly animal virus epidemic spreading globally may have originated in a Wuhan laboratory linked to China’s covert biological weapons program, according to an Israeli biological warfare expert.

Radio Free Asia this week rebroadcast a local Wuhan television report from 2015 showing China’s most advanced virus research laboratory known the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Radio Free Asia reported.

Well, well, well; that certainly is suggestive.

Look, the Chinese cannot beat us militarily using conventional or atomic weapons. Our weaponry is still far superior to theirs and they know it. But we gave up our biological weapons program in the seventies, and with CRISPR technology it is far easier to make a horrible war plague. We know China has been monkeying around with genetic manipulation. They have openly bragged about some of the things they have done. There is no reason to think they have NOT been manipulating genetic material to weaponize a virus or bacteria.

Dany Shoham, a former Israeli military intelligence officer who has studied Chinese bio warfare, said the institute is linked to Beijing’s covert biological weapons program.

"Certain laboratories in the institutehave probably been engaged, in terms of research and development, in Chinese [biological weapons], at least collaterally, yet not as a principal facility of the Chinese BW alignment,” Mr. Shoham told The Washington Times.

Work on biological weapons is conducted as part of a dual civilian-military research and is "definitely covert,” he said in an email.

Maybe. And maybe it is just a normal thing to suspect them of this. China has a LOT of people and they are rather casual about hygiene and food handling. The country is a petri dish for bacteria and viruses, and with China now having the financial wherewithal to build in new areas and to purchase materials and send people into the Third World it becomes more likely new diseases will break out into the general public after mutating. China is one enormous bio reactor.

So it is not necessary to think this is a result of biological warfare experiments, but it could be. I wouldn't put it past the Chicoms.

There's more:

One ominous sign, said a U.S. official, is the that false rumors since the outbreak began several weeks ago have begun circulating on the Chinese Internet claiming the virus is part of a U.S. conspiracy to spread germ weapons.

That could indicate Chinais preparing propaganda outlets to counter future charges the new virus escaped from one of Wuhan’s civilian or defense research laboratories.

And no doubt they will try to blame it on Donald J. Trump.

I wonder if that will be the next article of impeachment filed against the President by the Democrats. 

The Chicoms know their enemy. As Sun Tzu said "if you know your enemy and yourself you need not fear in a thousand battles".  Divide and conquer. And so many hyper-partisan American politicians will fall right into line with this.

This is a worrisome situation. We've had pandemics in the past (the Spanish flu during WWI is a prime example) but never one actually created to kill people. Biological weapons have the potetntial to be terrible things indeed; it's why Richard Nixon ended our program. It is possible to create a pathogen that mutates and cannot be cured - and can make mankind extinct. It could happen.

There is, for example, what is called a cassette virus, which is a virus that mutates repeatedly so as to avoid the body's natural defenses. Antibodies cannot react fast enough, and the mutations take their toll. Evenutally one of them kills the host. And then kills another host, and another, and another.

Now, I may be indulging in fear-mongering here. Chances are this virus will peak and then peter out as most epidemics do. I wouldn't read too much into this. But I do think it is something we should be considering.

As I said, China cannot defeat us militarily as of now. They know it. A bioweapon could be a game changer.

The fact is that even the radical Greens are against "renewable energy" but are using it became of their Eco-Marxist ideology which is so extreme they world see the world to back in time where it could only sustain less than a billion people.

Take the DGR, they tell you they view "Green Energy" as nothing more than the means to deindustrialization and depopulation.

Iran Attack Injured American Soldiers

34 U.S. servicemen suffered traumatic brain injuries from Iran's missile attacks.

From the France 24 article (wee, wee!):

The Pentagon disclosed Friday that 34 US service members had been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury following Iran’s missile strikes on an Iraqi base earlier this month, a number higher than the military had previously announced. The revelation belies US President Donald Trump’s initial claim that no Americans were harmed in the attack.

Eight of the 34 injured arrived in the US on Friday from Germany, where they and nine others had been flown days after the January 8 missile strike on Iraq's Ain al-Asad air base. The nine still in Germany are receiving treatment and evaluation at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, the largest US military hospital outside the continental United States.

Jonathan Hoffman, the chief Pentagon spokesman, said the eight in the US will be treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, or at their home bases. The exact nature of their injuries and their service and unit affiliations were not disclosed.

This was a rather costly way of allowing Iran to "save face".  President Trump should be planning retaliation for this. 

I did not agree with the notion that we should "de-escalate" when it was announced; Iran needs the screws put to it. As Barack Obama put it, if you bring a knife to the fight we'll bring a gun. We have the gun. They need to fear it.

I am not advocating we kill anyone over this, but we need to hurt them in some other fashion. Perhaps a new cyber attack, or whatnot.  But make it clear we did it, and will do worse. In foreign affairs you cannot let a rival hit you and not respond, especially one as belligerent and aggressive as Iran. Weakness begets attack.
