Trump accused of planning genocide on MSNBC. No objections from host.
From The Blaze:
"President Obama used the power of the presidency to try to pass comprehensive immigration reform for Latino community, Latino leaders at the table," she said.
"You now have a president who is, like you said, talking about exterminating Latinos," Wallace continued.
Wallace was a former Republican who worked with the McCain camp.
Then, after a major public backlash, the wacky Wallace made a lukewarm apology followed immediately by a new attack on the President:
So using an accurate adjective is now racist and divisive?
It's no wonder we've been losing for decades, with "friends" like this.

Funny; plants like both warmth and carbon dioxide, or so I thought. And they generally like more water, something that climate change was supposed to bring, or so the IPCC told us. In fact, greenhouses are often kept warm and pumped with co2, and irrigated. Yet, despite forty years of supposed climate change, we are producing more food than ever. But don't be confused by the facts...
U.N. Report Warns Climate Change could Lead to Food Shortages.
Guess we're going to have to force the population to eat less - and breed less. Except for our elite masters, of course, who are too important.
Malthus was wrong, and Ehrlich was wrong. Ehrlich predicted starvation by the year 2000 and civilizational collapse. It didn't happen, because they assumed there was only one pie that would have to be cut thinner and thinner. Instead we baked more pies. We had the Green Revolution, innovations in water management, etc. The Malthusian idea we're going to starve because things don't remain exactly the same is beyond idiotic.

Mecical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States, according to a recent study by Johns Hopkins.
From NPR:
In 2013 there were 33,636 deaths due to injury by firearms in total in the U.S.; that includes murder, accidental deaths, mass shootings, and suicides. according to the national Research Council and the Committee on Law and Justice. Note these stats are probably high. Further note that the majority occurred in Democratic controlled cities.
So, which is more deadly?
Medical mistakes dwarf gun violence. So why are the Democrats so jacked up about banning guns? Guns are a Constitutionally protected entity, while medicine is never mentioned. Clearly, if they were concerned about the public welfare here, they would concentrate on making hospitals safer.
One way to accomplish that would be to reduce the number of people going to hospitals. How? Well, for starters, stop subsidizing them. Medical costs exploded when Medicare came on the scene, and with every new effort to "fix" our healthcare system we've made it more appealing to just show up at the hospital for treatment. Naturally mistakes will be made - especially with an overworked staff. Going back to a market-based approach is the logical solution, but the Left will not ever consider that.
They are too busy giving us gun bans and socialized medicine.
This is a problem created by the Progressives. Why look to them for solutions?

Let's get some perspective: Crime in the US has declined during the same years gun ownership has increased, according to the Brennan Center for Justice. Indeed, murder rates have halved between the 1990s and today. So, what is your point, gun banners? #RedFlagLawsbserves:

A "theater group" has displayed posters saying "Death Camps for Trump Supporters".
From Long Island News:
The theater group says it uses interactive horror experiences to address social issues. A group member told News 12 that pictures of the posters, which had been sent to a private group chat, were leaked.
Imagine if a a Party group did that, especially during the Obama era (and I mean put it up about liberals, not about Trump supporters like the old joke where you could call Reagan an SOB in America AND in the Soviet Union.)
Frankly, the Secret Service should investigate this group; it could be seen as constituting a threat to the President or the President's people.
It's past time this sort of violent rhetoric be deal with as is provided for under the law.
Hat tip; Warner Todd Houston.

This kid has been raised properly! God bless him and his parents! The article doesn't say so, but I'll bet he and his mom are in church every Sunday! Needless to say, THIS kid will never be a mass murderer!Following the tragic shooting at a Walmart Supercenter in El Paso, Texas, an 11-year-old boy's idea to help heal the community is going viral.
On Sunday, Rose Gandarilla posted a photo of her son, Ruben Martinez, with a note he wrote called the "#elpasoCHALLENGE" on social media. The post quickly went viral.
The sixth-grader from El Paso is encouraging every citizen in the city to do at least 20 good deeds in honor of the lives lost on Saturday and telling people to "be kind to each other all day every day, all night, every night."
Ruben suggested several examples of random acts of kindness: "Mow someone's lawn, visit a nursing home, pay for someone's lunch or dinner, donate to families in need, write someone a letter and tell them how great they are, hold the door for everyone, comfort someone when they are sad or stressed, take flowers to someone in the hospital, leave a dollar on the vending machine for the next person."
But the young boy didn't just write a letter and sit around. He's been busy helping his community heal.
"He is a very caring young man," Gandarilla told Fox News. "He is always asking me to give money to homeless people or to go buy them food. Every since he was little, we always pay for someone's dinner at a restaurant once a month."
Ruben and his mom went to Walgreens, Carinos, Barnes and Noble, Sprouts and other places in El Paso to personally ask people to join the challenge.
There's a lot more; please read the article. And pray for this young man and his family! They are the kind of people this nation needs millions of! https://www.foxnews.com/faith-values/el-paso-texas-boy-challenge-mass-shooting-viral

Train station experiment reveals one way to counteract bias against Muslims
From the Physorg article:
A man at the platform would intentionally drop his used paper cup on the floor. A woman of color who appeared to be an immigrant would then ask him to pick up the cup and discard it in a nearby garbage can.
The woman's request "signaled to bystanders that (she) shared their norms and was a civic-minded person," the researchers explained in the study.
Moments later, her phone would ring. After she answered it, her bag would suddenly "break" and spew oranges across the platform.
At that point, the experimenters would document how many of the bystanders moved to help her gather the scattered fruit.
The scenario was repeated multiple times over several hours, but varied in key details. In about half the cases, the woman would ask the litterbug to clean up; in others, that request came from another female member of the team.
What do you think happened? Well:
The researchers performed 1,614 iterations of this two-step scene for more than 7,142 bystanders over three weeks in the summer of 2018. Then they analyzed the results.
When the orange-dropper was a white, German-speaking woman, bystanders helped her 78.3% of the time. A nonwhite "immigrant" wearing a cross or wearing only secular clothing was helped 76.4% of the time—which was not significantly different from the first scenario.
It seems that appearing to be of immigrant background did not reduce onlookers' inclination to be helpful, at least in this particular experiment.
"It was very surprising," Sambanis said. "It might say something about the level of multiculturalism that Germans have become accustomed to."
But the bystanders' helpfulness dropped if that woman appeared overtly
Muslim. For instance, if the "immigrant" woman wore a headscarf,
bystanders helped her only 66.3% of the time.
Well gooollleeey! Birds of a feather really do flock together.
And people were less helpful to those who purposely separate themselves from the majority culture by wearing attire that suggests she is part of a group that, well, tried to murder Christian Europe in the Middle Ages and now seeks to colonize.
Social scientists never seem to actually understand people, or the basics of culture.

Several House Democrats have introduced legislation to reverse a 2018 Department of the Interior decision to allow neonicotinoid pesticides in our nation’s wildlife refuges. The House bill would in effect reinstate an Obama era ban on such uses. My extensive experience with this issue convinces me that the congressional efforts are misguided and based on bad or outdated information ... and even some deliberately false and misleading claims.
Neonics are absorbed into plant tissue – and protect crops by targeting only pests that actually feed on the crops. Because they are barely detectable in pollen and nectar, they are far safer for bees than traditional pesticides that would likely be used if this legislation is enacted into law. Moreover, beekeepers have mostly learned how to deal with the Varroa mites that are the real or primary cause of bee losses that anti-pesticide activists blame on neonics.
All
this means the House bill would actually hurt bees, birds and other
animals in our wildlife refuges, by forcing farmers to replace the
safest and most effective pesticides – neonics – with other chemicals
that actually are harmful to wildlife, including a number of "naturalâ€
pesticides that are regularly used by organic farmers.

With leftists seeking to blame the El Paso shooting on President Trump, guns, white people and whatever other boogieman will help score political points, a simple fact should be understood:
Murder is a Democrat thing.
We can start with the striking statistic that 68 percent of all homicides occur in just certain parts of 5 percent of America's counties — and all, or virtually all, of these are Democrat areas.
Also striking is Democrats' devolution on prenatal infanticide. The line always was, though the savvy never believed it, "We want abortion to be safe, legal and rare." Leftists also insisted that "we don't really know when life begins" or when "an unviable tissue mass becomes a baby." To echo Barack Obama's debate disclaimer from some years ago, that's above their "pay grade."
But all that has been aborted. Now leftists support prenatal infanticide up until birth, and sometimes beyond, though this is subject to change without notice. (Coming, perhaps, is the day leftists will absolutely know when an "unviable tissue mass†becomes human: when it can vote Democrat.)
In other words, yes, he’s a baby; yes, he’s human.
And, yes, you can murder him because you feel like it. How sociopathic can you get?
This devolution is no surprise. Leftists are, almost one and all, de facto atheists; as such, they essentially believe man is just a material being, a chemicals-and-water organic robot. To quote barrel-of-laughs botanist Lawrence Trevanion, people are "objects that perceive.â€
Obviously, viewing people as objects leads to objectification; you use objects and, when the spirit moves you, maybe even abuse objects. This is why leftists such as sanctimonious Pete Buttigieg and Irish Bob (O’Rourke) will politicize tragedies such as the El Paso and Dayton shootings before the blood is even dry. To them, the victims are objects that serve a purpose, a means to an end.
So they can be human props, just like the Illegal-alien Children in Cages™, or kids paraded in front of press conferences or on stage at Democratic National Conventions. "Do it for the children?†It’s really, "Do it with the children†or "Do it to the children†— whatever yields the power you crave.
Of course, projecting, leftists are also full of the hate they ascribe to others. (After all, they’re incapable of hating what they see as the sin without hating who they see as the sinner, so they assume others operate likewise.) This is why former CNN host Reza Aslan, an Iranian immigrant who once ate human flesh on television, recently sent a tweet in which he appeared to say that all Trump supporters should be eradicated.
If that was his meaning, he’d just be carrying on a long tradition. The "Left†has been bloody ever since it was born during the French Revolution, where Maximilien Robespierre’s crew killed thousands in the Reign of Terror. Since then, the USSR’s Stalin, China’s Mao, Cambodia’s Pol Pot and others have added approximately 100 million corpses to the total. The formula is simple, too: Leftists+Sufficient Power=Dropped Mask and Mass murder.
Power really is the only limiting factor because godlessness, that leftist norm, correlates with moral nihilism, and thus are leftists bereft of true moral constraints. Fyodor Dostoevsky explained this state of being in The Brothers Karamazov, writing, "Without God, all things are permitted.†Leftists don’t have principles, but preferences — which is why they’re notorious for the political-winds-enabled goalpost shift.
Worse still is how leftists (and the conservatives who defend yesterday’s liberals’ mistakes) destroy children, on the inside, with corruptive miseducation, entertainment and sexual-devolutionary messages and temptations. From bodies to hearts to minds to souls to statues and traditions and beyond, threatening all that’s great and good, destruction is leftists’ stock in trade.
Leftists were once part of the counter-culture, but the only culture that’s truly theirs is the Culture of Death, that dark phenomenon Pope John Paul II so lamented. So you can point fingers, modern Democrats, but in your hearts some of you, I suspect, know exactly what too many of you are: stone-cold killers.

Three San Francisco area juries have already awarded cancer patients some $80 million each, based on claims that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup weedkiller, caused their cancer – and that Bayer-Monsanto negligently or deliberately failed to warn consumers that the chemical it manufactures is carcinogenic. (Hint: It’s not.) More than 18,000 more potential jackpot-justice litigants are waiting in the wings.
The fact is, over 3,000 studies by respected agencies and organizations worldwide have concluded that glyphosate is safe and non-carcinogenic. Only one claims the chemical is "probably†carcinogenic to humans. However, that one finding has been center-stage in these lawsuits – and the judges have actually prevented attorneys for Bayer-Monsanto from presenting a defense based on the 3,300 investigations that found glyphosate is safe and NON-carcinogenic. My article this week summarizes the science, analyzes the courtroom dramas, offers a line of questioning that I think could and should have been employed in court – and looks down that dark road where these glyphosate and related cancer lawsuits could be taking the United States.

After last weekend's horrible mass shootings, we're hearing the usual cries from the left for stricter gun control -- but this time we're also hearing them from increasing numbers of Republican lawmakers willing to embrace "red flag" legislation.
Time reports that a bipartisan proposal to create a federal grant encouraging the adoption of state-level red flag laws is "gaining momentum" in the Senate. President Trump gave the bill a push on Monday, telling the nation in a prepared address, "We must make sure that those judged to pose a grave risk to public safety do not have access to firearms and that if they do those firearms can be taken through rapid due process." GOP co-sponsor Lindsey Graham (South Carolina) said that red flag laws will allow law enforcement to "do something" about potentially dangerous gun owners or would-be buyers.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has made the Senate the place where Democrat gun control bills from the House go to die, but even he seems at least somewhat open to new legislation. In a statement released earlier this week, McConnell said that "serious, bipartisan, bicameral efforts will enable us to continue this important work."
In Wisconsin, Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and GOP Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald are prepared to meet next week with Democratic Governor Tony Evers to discuss new legislation to do something about "people perceived as threats," as the AP reported it. Although Vos did go on Twitter to promise that he "will not entertain proposals to take away Second Amendment rights or due process."
We'll see.
Illinois GOP congressman and Iraq War vet Adam Kinzinger wrote on Medium this week that he will support red-flag legislation, raising the age limit for firearms purchases to 21, and "banning certain high capacity magazines, like the 100-round drum the Dayton shooter used this weekend."
Republican Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania is working with West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin on new legislation that he claims will "keep guns out of the hands of criminals, the dangerously mentally ill, and terrorists, while respecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners and all Americans." He added that he hopes "the accumulated pain from so many of these horrific experiences will be motivation to do something."
"To do something." Those three dangerous words that ignore the idea contained in the Hippocratic Oath: "First, do no harm." Thos words that are always ignored by liberals/leftists, who never consider the results of their actions or, in this case, don't consider their actions harmful.
Influential Republican Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley told audience members at a fundraiser on Monday night, "I'm calling on law-abiding gun owners to lead the charge in the effort to keep dangerous individuals from purchasing guns and to expand access to mental health resources."
Dayton-area GOP Congressman Mike Turner says he "will support legislation that prevents the sale of military-style weapons to civilians, a magazine limit, and red-flag legislation," which is about as comprehensive a list of measures as any anti-gun Democrat might call for. Ohio's Republican Lt Gov. Jon Husted said he hopes that seeing "bullet holes and the blood stains" will move Trump to support new gun control measures. And Ohio Senator Rob Portman says he hopes for a "consensus" on the red flag legislation he now supports. Also in Ohio, Gov. Mike DeWine was "shouted down" by mourners in Dayton, with the demand that he "do something." Two days later, DeWine told reporters, "They were absolutely right. We must do something, and that is exactly what we are going to do."
There's more here: https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/will-gop-cave-on-gun-control/ Read the whole thing. I think we should contact every Republican in the Senate and the House and say "DON'T DO IT! IT'S A SLIPPERY SLOPE AND WE'LL NEVER RECOVER!"
The problem with existing "Red Flag" laws is they virtually ignore Due Process. Here's another good article that explains it: https://townhall.com/columnists/jacobsullum/2019/08/07/red-flag-laws-leave-gun-owners-defenseless-the-trumpendorsed-response-to-mass-shootings-gives-due-process-short-shrift-n2551284

This is worrisome. I appreciate the point that it is dangerous and people shouldn't do it, does intent not enter into the Law anymore? We have reached the point in Europe (and it's coming to America, of course) where there is always legal liability, even in pure accidents. Somebody has to be blamed these days. While there IS reason to blame a texting driver, I think the punishment is excessive for what is essentially an accident due to negligence. Punish, yes, but life?
Nobody who will be charged with this will have woke up and said to him or herself "I think I'll kill some innocent motorist today!" Intent is important. And they'll let people out of prison for actual premeditated murder in less time.
According to the U.K. Telegraph article:
Drivers who cause death when looking at their mobile phones will face life in jail for the first time under Government plans to be revealed on Monday.
In a major hardening of sentencing guidelines, ministers will propose raising the upper limit of imprisonment for dangerous drivers who kill from 14 years to a lifetime.
It is designed to send a "clear message†that people who cause "immeasurable pain†to families with reckless driving should be given a "punishment that fits the crimeâ€.
The move comes after a string of high-profile cases where children have been killed when people at the wheel failed to brake while being distracted by their phones.
end
Hard cases make bad law. This is just another example of a hard case being used to toughen laws, to make people even more the puppets of the State. And it will come to America in due course.
A free society requires some risk. It wouldn't be worth having if it didn't.

A black Cincinnati would-be mass shooter who was firing at cars gave his reason:
I don't like white people in my hood.
From the Breitbart article:
Authorities identified Devonta Allen, 18, of Kennedy Heights as the suspect in a video of a July 25 incident where he was reportedly shooting at vehicles with a gun while yelling, "I don’t like white people in my hood,†WKRC reported.
The incident reportedly began over a stolen vehicle before shots were fired.
WXIX reportedthat Allen, who is black, faces four charges of felonious assault for firing three gunshots at four people—three who are white and one who is black.
End excerpt.
Question: what makes it "his hood"? I suspect that neighborhood was occupied by white people before black people moved in. It may have been many years ago, but they didn't treat his predecessors in the fashion he is treating them, and if they had the Law would have come down on them. By what rights does he claim the neighborhood? Squatters, I suppose.

Connor Betts - the Dayton shooter - was a Satan-worshipping socialist,
According to Heavy:
Well, I have to second that last about John McCain, but beyond that this guy is one bad man.
The article also stated:
"This is America: Guns on every corner, guns in every house, no freedom but that to kill,†he wrote in December 2018. And, "’Tis! The pistol is a Beretta 93R, called the REK7 in BO4. Do love me some guns!†He also wrote, "Hammer, brick, gun.†On Feb. 14, 2018, he tweeted this at Sen. Rob Portman: "@robportman hey rob. How much did they pay you to look the other way? 17 kids are dead. If not now, when?†That was the date of the mass shooting at a school in Parkland, Florida.
And Betts was a big fan of Elizabeth Warren as well as Bernie Sanders and was a self-proclaimed socialist. He wrote "kill all Fascists" in response to the Unite the Right rally in Charlottsville.
Interstingly enough, Twitter took down Betts' page so nobody could find out how radically left wing the man was.
He also spoke of "concentration camps" at the border:
In short, the Dayton shooter was a radical leftist. Funny how little the media has reported on HIM.

Tim McNabb argued it was a leftist doctrine and was dismissed by a typically smug liberal. I mae the following reply:
Let's get it from the horse's mouth, shall we.
From Benito Mussolini's 1932 the Doctrine of Fascism.:
Fascism is therefore opposed to all individualistic abstractions based on eighteenth century materialism; and it is opposed to all Jacobinistic utopias and innovations. It does not believe in the possibility of "happiness" on earth as conceived by the economistic literature of the XVIIIth century, and it therefore rejects the theological notion that at some future time the human family will secure a final settlement of all its difficulties. This notion runs counter to experience which teaches that life is in continual flux and in process of evolution. In politics Fascism aims at realism; in practice it desires to deal only with those problems which are the spontaneous product of historic conditions and which find or suggest their own solutions (9). Only by entering in to the process of reality and taking possession of the forces at work within it, can man act on man and on nature (10).
Anti-individualistic, the Fascist conception of life stresses the importance of the State and accepts the individual only in so far as his interests coincide with those of the State, which stands for the conscience and the universal, will of man as a historic entity (11). It is opposed to classical liberalism which arose as a reaction to absolutism and exhausted its historical function when the State became the expression of the conscience and will of the people. Liberalism denied the State in the name of the individual; Fascism reasserts the rights of the State as expressing the real essence of the individual (12). And if liberty is to he the attribute of living men and not of abstract dummies invented by individualistic liberalism, then Fascism stands for liberty, and for the only liberty worth having, the liberty of the State and of the individual within the State (13). The Fascist conception of the State is all embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value. Thus understood, Fascism, is totalitarian, and the Fascist State - a synthesis and a unit inclusive of all values - interprets, develops, and potentates the whole life of a people (14)."
Can anyone argue with a straight face that Fascism is in any way a right wing ideology based on this?
In fact, if found it's roots in Rousseau's The Social Compact, where Rousseau argued that Christianity must be done away with, and to do that he advocated deifying the collective Will and making the State the equivalent of the Church. Rousseau was the father of both Fascism and Socialism. They are kissing cousins - they just disagree on a few things, as Mussolini makes clear in this work. But in the end they are more alike than different.
He also says:
And
Yep - Fascism is Communism without Marx.

Having turned the Boy Scouts into a nationwide version of the Playboy Club, Scouting leadership is now going to hand out condoms to the teenage kids at their World Jamboree.
According to the Washington Times:
The 2019 World Scout Jamboree will be held in West Virginia from July 21 to Aug. 1. The theme is "Unlock a New World.â€
The World Jamboree is an official World Organization of the Scout Movement event. The Boy Scouts are co-hosting this year’s program with two other scouting organizations, Scouts Canada and the Scouts Association of Mexico.
Andy Chapman, vice chairperson of the World Scout Committee, said the co-hosts are working to implement requirements previously laid out by the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
First they opened the door with gay scouts, then with gay scoutmasters, and then "transgendered" girls, and when that effectively drove membership into the drink they opened the Boy Scouts to girls. Well, when you sexualize something like that, is it any surprise you will have to provide condoms?
The Left has succeeded in destroying the Boy Scouts. This was once a wonderful American institution, one that taught moral values. In fact, as part of the Scouting Oath you had to vow to keep yourself "morally straight". but now that means, well, nothing really. You can crawl into a sleeping bag with anyone sharing personal space with you and that's hunkey dorey.
It should be pointed out that many Scouting troops are sponsored by churches, particularly the Catholic Church. Catholic doctrine forbids the use of condoms or other contraception as a a mortal sin. It also does not permit fornication.
I wrote about this a while back here. The Boy Scouts, er, scouting as they now call themselves (since they opened to transgendered and girls) is in a deep hole and they keep digging.

The use of decoys has been used with great success to fool an enemy or deter an enemy from attacking what could be a trap or a trick.
Who could forget the most famous decoy in war – the Trojan Horse – a giant hollow wooden horse used by the Greeks to fool the Trojans. The Horse was left at the gates of Troy as an offering of peace to the goddess Athena the goddess of war. After the horse was left at the gates of Troy, the Greeks retreated. Thereafter, the Trojans moved the horse inside the gates of Troy only to find that the horse was chock full of Greek "special forces†who exited the horse at dark, opened the gates of Troy and let in the Greek army who overwhelmed the Trojans and captured the city.
Fast forward to 1942. The Army built a decoy airfield in Virginia to fool the Nazi Luftwaffe. It was constructed in response to the fear of an attack by ever-increasing long-range bombers. What the phony airfield concealed was batteries of anti-aircraft weapons.
In advance of D-Day in World War II, the Allies broadcast endless hours of fictitious radio transmissions about troop and supply movements and planted wedding notices for fake soldiers in local newspapers. They deceived Nazi aerial reconnaissance planes by fashioning dummy aircraft and an armada of decoy landing crafts, composed only of painted canvases pulled over steel frames, around the mouth of the River Thames. They even deployed inflatable Sherman tanks, which they moved to different locations under the cover of night and used rollers to simulate tire tracks left behind in their wake.
Lately, the Iranians have been preying on commercial ships navigating in international waters in the area of the Strait of Hormuz – seizing ships and taking crews. Their hostile acts are meant to provoke the United States and our allies. Their provocations have also included downing a U.S. Navy drone and then showing it off in their media.
Iranians know that to date their military actions against commercial shipping is relatively safe and easy since crews are not armed, and ships do not contain defensive weapons such as machine guns or missiles. Crews are defenseless when met by Iranian military speed boats that are armed with high powered weapons including missiles and mines.
It is time to turn the tables on the Iranians. America and our allies should announce that decoy ships will be deployed in the Strait of Hormuz and elsewhere there are threats to commercial shipping. These ships would appear to be commercial ships and will fly the flags of their nations, but the crews will be military and special forces who will only respond to threats. Once a threat is made then the crews would respond with overwhelming force against those seeking to hijack, kidnap or otherwise harm the crew or the ship.
By deploying decoys, the Iranians will never know which is a true commercial vessel and which may be a ship chock full of military personnel and weapons to repel any threat.
I like the idea. Sure, Tehran would weep and wail at the U.N., but I agree with Mr. Blakeman that they would surely think twice about another hijacking.

China has gone on a tear, devaluating it's currency in order to spur exports. China saw a major drop in exports in July, and the Chinese are getting worried about the effectiveness of the Trump tariffs.
So China pulled an old trick, making her money worth less in order to make her products cheaper. This is a dangerous game, though, because it means a rise in inflation. In a Communist country you don't get big rises in inflation because prices are fixed, so instead what you get are shortages of consumer goods. By devaluing the Yuan the Chinese are putting pressure on their peasantry.
There are other aspects to this; South Korea and Japan and India are going to be unhappy with China trying to nose them out, and may well take retaliatory steps as well. It doesn't hurt America much; we'll get cheaper products, meaning inflation won't be a problem here, and while it can damage employment, we are in a period of zero unemployment anyway, so it really won't matter overmuch. In fact, it will help us as it will make it harder to claim we need illegal aliens to come here and steal jobs "Americans just won't do".
So where am I going with all this? Well, China is signaling it may send the military into Hong Kong and there is every reason for them to make a display of killing protesters; if Hong Kong gets away with it protests could spread, as there is quite a bit of discontent with the government in China, especially in the rural areas. Jobs are scarce, and with rising inflation the peasantry will be even less happy. I fear the Chinese government is going to need an object lesson, and Hong Kong provides the perfect example.
When a tyrant's economy unravels he usually looks to foreign adventurism. China may go that route, too, although I suspect first they will get their own house in order by a massacre of dissidents. Then we may have to worry about them seizing disputed islands, or maybe even attacking a U.S. naval vessel.
As the old Chinese proverb says, "we live in interesting times".
