Donald Trump has foolishly sent out Kwanzaa greetings, and Ann Coulter takes him to task in an essay at Human Events.
From Ann's screed:
By that criterion, Karenga’s United Slaves was perfect.
Despite modern perceptions that blend all the black activists of the ’60s, the Black Panthers did not hate whites. Although some of their most high-profile leaders were drug dealers and murderers, they did not seek armed revolution.
Those were the precepts of Karenga’s United Slaves. The United Slaves were proto-fascists, walking around in dashikis, gunning down Black Panthers and adopting invented "African†names. (I will not be shooting any Black Panthers this week because I am Kwanzaa-reform, and we are not that observant.)
It’s as if David Duke invented a holiday called "Anglika,†which he based on the philosophy of "Mein Kampf†— and clueless public school teachers began celebrating the made-up, racist holiday.

This is hillarious; Big Hairy Squaw, aka Fauxcahontas. Lizzy Warren, is launching her Presidential bid in Buena Vista (Beans and Visas) county in Iowa. This county is sandwhiched between - drumroll please - Sac (as in Sac and Fox tribes), Pocahontas and Cherokee counties!
Read about it here.
Irony is lost on this woman - and on most Democrats.
Oh, and I though Injuns aren't supposed to drink firewater lest they go on warpath. I hope Lizzie's hubby didn't get scalped after she downed a beer and jumped the reservation on Instagram.

Here is what the globalist elites want for us all:
No this wasn’t something Adolf Hitler said many decades ago, this is what German Chancellor Angela Merkel told attendants at an event by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin.....

Welcome to post-America. In this land of the unfree, governments can seize your property and money on mere accusations.
Here is a case in point:
Jeffrey Crippen was not entitled to three bundles of cash seized by Dover Police due to lack of documentation and proof that the money was legitimately earned, President Judge William L. Witham Jr. asserted in a 16-page order, .
While Crippen claimed in a 2017 petition that he received all the funds two years earlier, he testified at trial that some of the money was received as early as 2012 through work and personal loans, according to the Court.
The petitioner could not document a supposed $5,000 personal loan allegedly received, the court said, nor a business it was purportedly intended for, the judge determined. There was no evidence to support an alleged second $5,000 personal loan as well, the order stated.
End excerpt.
So now government can keep money that they seize from you even if you are acquitted. If you can't prove HOW you made the money you have no right to it.
This presupposes there is no private property, but only government indulgence. If you own something, be it personal property, real property, or cash - property that can be exchanged for other property - your possession is subject to the whims of the State. This is Marxist thinking, or at least Hitlerian; all property belongs to the State and the "owner" is merely a caretaker. This shows how far we have fallen as a nation.
Yes, Crippen was convicted of a weapons charge, but that had nothing to do with the money, or at least the State couldn't prove it did. That should have made this out-of-bounds. We started a very bad thing when we allowed the Bush 41 Administration to start this forfeiture program for drug dealers; it always starts out as a reasonable thing but quickly metastasizes. Hard cases make bad law.
And while we may not have much sympathy for this fellow, the fact is the State has no right to seize his money without being able to prove it was ill-gotten. You don't take something solely on suspicion. That is a horrendous due-process violation. And how long before the State starts grabbing other things based on dubious assertions? It's how it started for the Jews in Nazi Germany.
We should all be very concerned about this.

(King Lear, act 1, scene 2)
Happy Perihelion Day! Today marks the Earth's closest approach to the Sun and it is cause for celebration! Actually, we hit perihelion at 12:19 a.m. so the event is passed, but I was still up and in fact enjoyed a cocktail in celebration (well, actually, I didn't realize it was that early so everything I said in that last line is as solid a news account as anything from CNN.)
Many people may find it surprising that Earth's closest approach to the Sun is in the dead of winter. The seasons are caused by the 23* tilt in the Earth's axis, (obliquity) not distance from the Sun. But it does have an impact, insofar as summers are hotter and winters colder in the southern hemisphere than in the northern. But the real determinant is the angle at which sunlight hits the surface.
So let's all celebrate the closest approach to the Sun today!
In other such news, we have a Super Blood Moon coming January 21st.
According to Fox News:
Supermoons typically appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than the average moon seen in the sky each night, Dr. Noah Petro, a research scientist from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, previously told Fox News. However, it's hard to really spot the difference with the naked eye.
"That's not enough to notice unless you're a very careful moon-watcher," Sky & Telescope magazine senior editor Alan MacRobert told Space.com in 2016.
The term "blood" stems from the rusty brownish-red color the Moon turns during a total lunar eclipse.
"That's because some of the sunlight going through Earth's atmosphere is bent around the edge of our planet and falls onto the moon's surface. Earth's air also scatters more shorter-wavelength light (in colors such as green or blue); what's left is the longer-wavelength, redder end of the spectrum," Space.com states on its website.
End excerpt.
We are also going to enjoy a "wolf moon" or a January full moon, and a total lunar eclipse on January 20 at 11:40 p.m.
So we have a lot of interesting astronomical events occurring this month.
And meteors fright the fixèd stars of heaven.
The pale-faced moon looks bloody on the earth,
And lean-looked prophets whisper fearful change.
Rich men look sad, and ruffians dance and leap;
The one in fear to lose what they enjoy,
The other to enjoy by rage and war.
These signs forerun the death or fall of kings.â€

If you ask me, it will eventually come to the point where a candidate for some office or other will take the position that "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west" and some Leftist twinkie such as Sen. Hirono will call his position "extreme."In this post, I [Power Line co-proprietor Paul Mirengoff] reported on the shameful attack by Senators Mazie Hirono and Kamala Harris on a judicial nominee — Brian Buescher — for belonging to the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic social and charitable organization. The two Senators insist that Buescher drop his membership in that organization and recuse himself from cases in which it has taken a position.
Why? Because according to Hirono, the Knights have taken "a number of extreme positions.†She cites its support for Proposition 8, a California ballot initiative that defined marriage in state law as the union of a man and a woman. A majority of California voters agreed with this "extreme position.â€
Dear Senator Harris, Senator Hirono, and respective staffs:
Greetings from your local, Capitol Hill-area Knights of Columbus Council, Patrick Cardinal O’Boyle Council 11302! We recently read about statements which expressed the fear that the Knights of Columbus held many extreme beliefs. It is our great pleasure to assure you that this fear is not grounded in any truth. The Knights of Columbus in general, and O’Boyle Council in particular are dedicated to the three fundamental principles of charity, unity, and fraternity.
In the past few months O’Boyle Council has worked with local parishes including St Peter’s (House-side Catholic church) and St Joseph’s (Senate-side Catholic church) to raise funds and give away over $4,000 worth of coats to neighborhood children, collect soda and beer can tabs to donate to the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute which helps the developmentally disabled, and collect diapers and other supplies for new mothers in need. Over the course of the past year we donated an ultrasound machine to a clinic, picked up trash around Nationals Park, and donated supplies to a local school.
We do all this as well as social gatherings and spiritual events. We hope this list of activities helps to assure you that we are simply a group aiming to do God’s work while building friendships.
We wish to formally invite you all to join us for any social or charitable event. In fact, this February we are doing the Polar Plunge to raise funds for DC Special Olympics. You and anyone you know are more than welcome to join us either jumping in the cold water or sponsoring our team.

When you gotta go you gotta go!
And visitors to Yosemite National Park have been going and going.
Yes, the partial government shutdown has limited trash collection and bathroom maintenance in the park, leading to visitors doing their business out in the open.
From the Sacramento Bee:
"With restrooms closed, some visitors are opting to deposit their waste in natural areas adjacent to high traffic areas, which creates a health hazard for other visitors,†National Parks Service spokesman Andrew Munoz told the publication in an email.
End excerpt.
Strange; the good people of California don't seem to mind human excrement in San Francisco, or bums urinating out in the open, but they get upset about people going in the bushes around campgrounds.
Overflowing toilets and illegal off-roading activities prompted the closure, the parks service said. Volunteers who had been trying to keep the park open simply can’t keep up, the publication reported.
"We can’t afford to wipe all the bottoms who visit Joshua Tree,†said Sabra Purdy, reported The Sun.
End excerpt.
Well, why not make a hand-written sign that says "out of toilet paper" and let people take care of their own buttocks?
Other parks around the country have been closed as well due to yellow rains. Of course, we are in the dead of winter, so how many does it really affect? Hey - maybe the homeless went on a field trip from their city by the bay?
I still wonder; if bears and other critters do it outdoors is it really such a terrible thing if a few campers do it? The stuff IS biodegradable, after all. (I know; it's still a health hazzard.)
Donald Trump is a party-pooper in more ways than one!
This illustrates the differences between liberals and conservatives. Liberals see freedom as doing what you please and hang the consequences. As a result, they treat people like children - and then people behave like children. Children don't pick up after themselves.
The differences are stark when comparing liberal and conservative events. Usually after some liberal protest or rally or whatnot there are mountains of trash, feces, used condoms, etc. Conservatives clean up afterward, and often you cannot tell there WAS a Tea Party rally or whatnot. Why? Liberals expect everything to be done for them; personal responsibility is not a liberal virtue. In fact, they WANT to leave a mess because it shows they were there.
I find it interesting that most of the places that have had problems with trash and human wastes are liberal places - Federal parks in California, Colorado, etc. These are where the tree-hugging hippies like to hang out. It certainly isn't families going there in December. So who is making the mess?

America is slipping into barbarism. Here is a case in point.
Yes, a man actually shot through a Taco Bell drive through window because he didn't get enough taco sauce.
From the article:
"A man was complaining about not getting enough sauce, or not getting any taco sauce and was very upset,†said Sgt. Gary Knight, KFOR reported.
The clash started in the drive-thru lane about 1:25 a.m. at the 2116 S.W. 59th St. restaurant, The Oklahoman reported.
End excerpt.
I am fairly confident this guy was on the sauce; who else shoots up a Taco Bell at one thirty in the morning"
He then went into the building and employees hid in a storage room. The man left before police could arrive.
I suppose everyone should be thankful they hadn't run out of napkins or this guy would have been REALLY angry.

Liz Warren: Look at this awful section of the Declaration of Independence. It reads as:
END QUOTE
I was discussing this with my fellow Cherokee tribe members at the Harvard Club over some Welsh Rarebit and tea and crumpets and we are all outraged. When I'm President, this will be stricken from the history books and I will burn the original copy in the National Archives in D.C.!
Warren Advisor: Sen. Warren, we have a problem with this. If the voters go online and read the Declaration of Independence, they will see such words as these:
BEGIN QUOTE
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance....
For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States...
END QUOTE
Warren Advisor: Don't you see, Sen. Warren, if the voters read these other sections, they will see the Democratic Party as royalist statist oppressors and it will hurt your campaign.
Liz Warren: Gee, I never thought of that angle.

Jake Hoffman at Townhall.com points out the total disconnect between Obama's mouth, hands and mind in an article.
Here is part of what Mr. Hoffman documents...
BEGIN QUOTE
In light of his recent comments these actions beg the question, why is a wall acceptable to protect the Obamas, but not acceptable to protect the American people?
Truly, it is a stunning display of hypocrisy to decry, even mock, the notion of erecting a wall to protect Americans from drug cartels, human traffickers, criminals and even terrorists, while simultaneously constructing a wall to protect yourself and your own family. Sadly, it seems we've reached a low point in our Republic's history when this level of Ëœfor thee but not for meâ„¢ elitism has become modus operandi from career politicians, rather than the exception.
While the hypocrisy above should be more than enough to obliterate Obama's credibility on the issue¦ there's more.
Take a minute and imagine the calculated heartlessness that a person must possess to deprive those who fought and bled for our country, many elderly, of the right to visit a memorial that their tax dollars have already funded.
Incredibly, you don't have to imagine what kind of person would give that order. During Obama's infamous 2013 government shutdown, he apparently not only found walls to be highly effective, but he deployed them against our nation's veterans, in order to deny them access from paying their respects to their brothers and sisters in arms at our nation's war memorials.
That's right, Obama found walls to be so effective he was willing to use them to keep veterans out of war memorials, yet claims they're patently ineffective for keeping illegal alien criminals out of our countryâ€despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Obama's willingness to flip-flop for political convenience represents an all too common maneuver of the political elite and it's precisely this double standard-laden hypocrisy that is fueling the Democrats to keep the federal government shutdown.

Howie Carr: Go ahead, Elizabeth Warren, make Trump's day!
I mean, New Year's Eve? Since buffalo roamed the plains, most braves and squaws spend-um New Year's Eve stocking their teepees and wigwams with firewater and cold crab omelet, or sending out smoke signals looking for papoose-sitters for the festivities.
In other words, nobody's paying attention to the news. But maybe that's part of the fake Indian's strategy, considering that her core constituencies - the pampered pukes at the Times and the Globe - have already told her to go take her act on the political Trail of Tears
