This guy gets it.
Delaware's Democratic Senator Chris Coons has issued a call to sanity for the Democrats.
"""Jf we as a Democratic Party are going to move from a minority at every level that is dedicated to resistance, to a majority that is capable of governing, we have got to move from grievance to optimism," Coons said in a speech in Washington. "And we've got to abandon a politics of anxiety that is characterized by wild-eyed proposals and instead deliver ideas and practical solutions." more...

In a shocking turn of events the St. Louis Cardinals fired manager Mike Matheny Saturday night.
According to the Belleville News Democrat:
"Matheny was stunningly fired Saturday night following an 8-2 loss to the Cincinnati Reds, a defeat that dropped St. Louis to 47-46 and 7 1/2 games back of the NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs.
Bench coach Mike Shildt was named the team's interim manager. Hitting coach John Mabry and assistant hitting coach Bill Mueller were also fired.
The Cardinals haven't missed three straight postseasons since 1997-99.
"These decisions are never easy, but we felt that a change in leadership was necessary as the team prepares to enter into the second half of the season," Cardinals President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak said. "I would like to thank Mike for his exceptional commitment and devotion to the Cardinals organization, including many fond memories of our years working together."
End excerpt.
The Cardinals haven't just underperformed, they seem blase' and nonchalant in their play, loafing and unconcerned. That goes directly to the manager, who should never tolerate laziness from his players. Matheny just didn't seem to be able to make these guys hustle. Often they would miss outs by taking their sweet time when they could have hustled. Games are lost that way.
I think this is welcome news. I wish Matheny well, but it was time for a change.

McDonald's, tossed salad, and toilet paper
Americans are encouraged to embrace diversity and be culturally sensitive to those who have flouted our laws and invaded our nation. Meanwhile, illegal aliens arriving in America have no such requirement. Instead, trespassing tribes relocate, and when they do, rather than assimilate, they transfer habits and activities indigenous to the countries from whence they migrated...
It's not news that illegals work in restaurants as food-handlers. These restaurant workers migrate from countries where, prior to kneading tortilla dough, post-toilet hand-washing is not required.
Once they're here in America, lack of hygienic practices translate into filthy hands arranging peaches in the produce rack and hombres with God knows what under their fingernails placing the apple slices in the see-through plastic containers stacked neatly in the Starbucks display counter...
...Remember the E. coli-laden cilantro and romaine lettuce that had human waste on them belonging to farm workers who relieved themselves in the field while harvesting the crops?
As a result, at Illinois and Iowa McDonald's restaurants, 90 people were recently infected with the Cyclospora parasite. For those who don't know, the most common symptom of cyclospora is watery diarrhea, appetite and weight loss, intestinal pain, nausea, and fatigue.

The Democratic Party in California has turned on Dianne Feinstein. According to the LA Times:
"California Democratic Party leaders took a step to the left Saturday night, endorsing liberal state lawmaker Kevin de León for Senate in a stinging rebuke of Democratic icon Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
De León’s victory reflected the increasing strength of the state party’s liberal activist core, which was energized by the election of Republican President Trump."
[...]
"De León, a former state Senate leader from Los Angeles, received 65% of the vote of about 330 members of the state party’s executive board — more than the 60% needed to secure the endorsement. Feinstein, who pleaded with party leaders meeting in Oakland this weekend not to endorse any candidate, received 7%, and 28% voted for "no endorsement.â€
End excerpts.
This is stunning - and illustrates how the Democrats are in full self-destruct mode. They are making a hard left turn at a time when the general public is trying to restore some sanity to the public sphere. This can only hurt the Dems, who are increasingly out of touch. If Feinstein goes then a political workhorse (yeah, she looks like one too) will be taken out and a radical novice will take her place, one who won't cooperate or manuever. Good luck with that.

In testimony before Congress, Cheater Peter Strzok had to admit that he knew ALL of Hillary's e-mails - all 30,000 - had gone to a hostile foreign power, and not Russia.

Here is an interesting theory; the Mueller probe is designed as a puzzle box, never to be solved so that the DOJ can hide their own dirty laundry.
After an exhaustive review of the timeline and the efforts by Fusion GPS, Perkins-Cole, and Crowdstrike which shows clearly that this is a Gordian Knot being twisted, the article concludes: more...

Libby lovestruck Lisa Page - F.B.I. agent and the mistress of cheating married man Peter Strzok - finally showed up for a closed-door session to answer questions from Congress. (I can't help but think of the Three Stooges where Shemp had to get married and the minister kept saying "hold hands, you love birds" after which another woman - eager for Shemp's newfound wealth - would bash him over the head with some blunt object.) Page simply blew off a previous summons to appear before Congress with no repercussions from Paul "Pee Wee" Ryan and company (if I failed to show up for so much as a parking ticket there would be a warrant for my arrest, but it's different when you are plotting to tamper with a national election, I guess.) At any rate, the Right Scoop gives us some details of that meeting.

Russians charged in DNC hacking case
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/07/russians-charged-in-dnc-hacking-case.phpThis from Tim:
My antennae are up over this one, Dana. Remember when Mueller announced the indictments of those Russian companies? He figurred they wouldn't show up in court - but they did, and pretty much nothing has come of them as Mueller was unwilling to turn over his evidence to defense lawyers. It was done to make it look like there was something there and to "shake the tree". Since Rosenstein didn't give any names how are we to believe there is any "there" there? I think this was designed to make the investigation look legitimate. Remember, Congress just heard from Peter Strzok and the investigation had a black eye as a result. Oh, and it was timed to coincide with Trump's meeting with Putin, to make it appear in the public eye that there is funny business going on. Mark Warner just demanded Trump cancel or have a third party present so he wouldn't collude with Puting about this while out of sight. (Reminds me of Dr. Strangelove where Sgt. Batguano tells Mandrake "you better not try any preversions in there {phone booth} or I'll blow your head off".)
I'm convinced this was entirely political. He could have waited until Monday to make the anouncement. This derails the Puting talks, boxes Trump in. It is clearly an attempt to blow up the talks.
And of course Rosenstein said no Americans were involved and there was no appreciable effect on the election, but he had to know the meia would only report he indictments, or only emphasize them, and try to hang this around Trump's neck.
I think cheers for Rosenstein may be premature.

You may be familiar with Brad Thor, the thriller writer. He is good, and extremely popular. Like all authors of thriller series, you can begin with the fact that it ainâ€â„¢t Shakespeare. But Thor is one of the masters of the craft.
Thorâ€â„¢s latest book, out last week, is Spymaster, the 18th in Thorâ€â„¢s Scot Harvath series. Harvath is a counterterrorist operative and pretty much a superhero. Most books in the series have found him battling Islamic extremists. But Spymaster is different: the villain is Russia.
