The Bad Shepherd

Brian Birdnow

See what the CBC says about Francis...pretty much we've been saying all along since 2013!

From the article:

Pope Francis is sowing confusion and division in the Church, and he has made no headway in reforming the Vatican's dysfunctional bureaucracy or resolving the sex abuse scandals.Instead, the Pope is laser-focused on advancing a radical agenda at odds with Church doctrine and marginalizing anyone who gets in his way.

That's what Philip F. Lawler, editor of Catholic World News, argues in his bold new book Lost Shepherd: How Pope Francis Is Misleading His Flock.

Pope Francis "is engaged in a deliberate effort to change what the Church teaches," Lawler warns."We have grown accustomed to looking to Rome for guidance. Now we cannot."

Why the Fed Causes Inflation - and Wants to Strangle the Recovery

Timothy Birdnow

The Federalist Patriot has an editorial arguing that government intervention is the primary driver of inflation rather than an "overheated economy" and that if the government truly wanted to Whip Inflation Now it would stop sticking it's enormous snout into the free market rather than manipulate interest rates to slow growth.

I concur.

From the article:

"Much of the recent volatility in the stock market can be attributed to growing fears over the Federal Reserve enacting interest-rate hikes due to concerns over increasing inflation. On the subject of inflation, however, it is the government’s meddling in the market that tends to be the greatest contributor. Economist Mark Perry, who has tracked changing prices for over two decades, has noticed a common trend with the price of various goods and services — costs have increased over the inflation level for those goods and services that have lacked competition. This should be no surprise to conservatives."

End excerpt.

An "overheated" economy may see minor inflation of certain items since the demand rises above the supply temporarily. But in a thriving economy you would see supply rise to meet the demand, since that is money in the bank for businesses and they are losing money by failing to provide it. Higher prices are not the goal of most businesses - greater market share is. The notion that greater demand means higher prices is predicated on an economic model of a neo-fascist variety, where businesses are static things in partnership with the government. It ignores the role of competition. more...

"Racial Dog Whistling" is Telling the Truth to a Liberal

Dana Mathewson

THIS is why we can't have a "conversation."

Because when somebody -- in this case a Republican, surprise, surprise -- brings up inconvenient truths, he's accused of "racial dog-whistling." We won't be able to have a conversation until we refuse to accept this.

I keep getting requests to contribute money to this fellow's campaign. If it weren't for the twin facts that (1) I don't have any money to give any politician and (2) I think it's really immoral, if not sort of illegal, to give money to the campaign of a politician who's not from my state, even if I think he/she is the greatest thing since single-malt Scotch. But now that I've heard this guy talk about something more than just "Help me beat Tim Kaine," which I admit was almost enough to begin with, I REALLY wish I had a few thousand shekels to send his way!

David Dickinson adds:

...and all of the fainting couches in the Chamber were occupied.

From Tim:

The left are the biggest dog whistlers of them all, from "sensible gun regulations" to "marriage equality" to "Dreamers", everything they do is a dog whistle to some group that wants power and their hands in our pockets. They have some gall.

Why the Left Won’t Win the Gun-Control Debate

Dana Mathewson

Another good one from David French at National Review.

2c from David Dickinson:

I love that last line, "...exercising that [2nd Amendment] right helps preserve the most vital right of all, the right to live."

Dana replies:

Just as long as enough citizens realize that and understand the truth of it. There are too many well-meaning liberals who honestly believe that the police are enough to protect us. These people live in places (like Apple Valley) where they are not threatened by the sort of people who are being let into this country by the millions at the behest of the guy they enthusiastically supported at the ballot box twice, in 2008 and 2012.

This from Tim:

I've read the national average response time to a 911 call is eleven minutes. You can achieve orbit from Cape Canaveral in less time than that. Police are best at writing reports after the fact - and calling the coroner to send the meat wagon for your remains.

Will Congress finally get tough on junk science?

Paul Driessen

In recent years, government agencies … and organizations they fund with our tax dollars … have engaged in multiple cases of agenda-driven "science” that replaces the honest, robust, transparent scientific method with data manipulation and other tactics designed to ensure that the "scientific evidence” supports a desired public policy outcome.

Perhaps the best known example is "dangerous manmade climate change.” However, the radical environmental movement’s well-funded campaigns against chemicals has also been relentless. This article summarizes efforts by the US House of Representatives Science Committee to investigate and reform a powerful UN agency that is trying to get an important agricultural chemical banned, by ignoring hundreds of studies that have found the chemical is perfectly safe for humans and the environment.

The question remains: Will Congress finally get tough with this agency – and those that engage in questionable science on climate change?

Thank you for posting my article, quoting from it, and forwarding it to your friends and colleagues.

The Last Days of South Africa

Dana Mathewson

Need I point out that this is the sort of thing that happened when blacks took over Rhodesia and renamed it Zimbabwe?

Oh, another thing: This is how easily South Africa's constitution gets amended. And that's the constitution that Ruth Bader Ginsburg thinks is superior to the United States Constitution. I wish I could send her this article and ask if she still stands by her evaluation.

Now the South African government is turning against the whites, and the result can easily be another Venezuela. From Daily Mail:

THE GOOD GUYS SAY NO

Dana Mathewson

From Breitbart:

Andrej Babiš has said there is ‘no way’ the Czech Republic will agree to Brussels’ demand that the nation accept a quota of migrants from the third world.

Speaking in the country’s parliament on Thursday, the recently elected Czech Prime Minister slammed the European Union’s (EU) mandatory quota scheme as "ineffective” and divisive.

"It is certain that we will not accept anyone, and we are fundamentally against anyone dictating to us who should live and work in our country,” local media reported him saying.

"We consider it absurd that the European Commission sues us for something that is nonsense,” Babiš added, regarding the EU’s decision to sue the Czech Republic alongside Poland and Hungary over their refusal to take part in the quota scheme.

Passed in 2015, after German Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the continent’s borders, the controversial rule dictates that asylum seekers who arrive in Europe seeking a new life are "fairly” redistributed across the bloc through a quota system.

Highlighting other contributions the Czech Republic has made to solving the migrant crisis, which includes having sent extra police officers to Hungary and Bulgaria to help protect the external EU border, Babiš pointed to the 35 million euro contribution from Visegrád 4 nations to help Italy crack down on people trafficking from Africa to Europe.

Hat tip; Urgent Agenda

Jack Kemp puts in his 2p:

What do you call someone who studiest the actions of the European Union?

A Urologist.

HypoClaire

Brian continues his fight with Senator Claire McCaskill

Dear Senator,
When you had a chance to strike a blow for your constituents, the citizens of Missouri, in the health care battle, you chose to vote for Obama's health care catastrophe, which your own favorite ex-president called "the craziest thing in the world". Now you pose yourself as a champion of the working class American...again! This is really getting old!

Racial Justice Warrior Bullies White Restaurant Patrons

Dana Mathewson

What would you tell this restaurant owner? Any ideas?

From Tim:

I would say if you want to bully white people and extort extra money from them you have the right, but if you want to stay in business good luck with that. Except for a few fools you aren't going to have customers long - even good liberals aren't going to keep coming if the proprietor badgers them.

Enjoy the unemployment line.

Jack Kemp states:

I wouldn't say anything to this restaurant owner because I would not go there. If I were a civil rights lawyer with the Landmark Legal Foundation, I'd go there to get evidence for a big, big lawsuit.

David Dickinson

"Hi, can you tell me where the closest McDonald's is?"

Dana replies:

If I had ended up in this eatery for whatever reason, and been hit with this crap, I'd have told this guy, flat out, "Screw you, pal. I'm not eating your swill, nor paying for it either."

Chuck Schumer; Reverse Racist and Hypocrite

Timothy Birdnow

Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority leader who wants to truly be a "minority" leader, voted against a qualified judicial nominee solely because the man was not black.

According to this post in the Federalist Patriot:

"Schumer stated, "The nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary. Quattlebaum replaces not one but two scuttled Obama nominees who were African-American.”

Schumer, who must think "minority leader” means something else, further explained, "As of Feb. 14th, 83 percent of the President Trump’s confirmed nominees were male, 92 percent were white. That represents the lowest share of non-white candidates in three decades. It’s long past time that the judiciary starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experiences on the federal bench is necessary for the equal administration of justice.” So, to put it bluntly, Schumer voted against Quattlebaum because he is white."

The Death of Snow has been greatly Exaggerated

Helen Dyer

About the huge snowfalls in the U.K.

From the Independent’s most cited article:Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past by Charles Onians:

However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event”.

"Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

Hilarious: Justin Trudeau Dresses Like Indian Stereotype in India and Gets Slammed

Selwyn Duke

This is too funny. Justin Trudeau, the eye-candy, two-brain-cell wonder of a Canadian prime minister, was on an eight-day visit to India with his family. So Justin, being the good little virtue-signaling leftist he is, decided it would be a good idea to impress his hosts by dressing in over-the-top traditional Indian garb. Well, he certainly did make an impression. As the Daily Mail reported:

Justin Trudeauhas been ridiculed on social media by Indians for his 'tacky' and over the top outfit choices while on his first visit to their nation as Prime Minister.

While many praised his clothing during the first two days of his trip, patience was wearing thin by the time he attended a Bollywood gala on Tuesday night, before the tide turned against him on Wednesday.

Ministers, authors, journalists and ordinary Indians lined up to mock him on Wednesday, saying his wardrobe was 'fake and annoying'.

Parkland Kids: The Return of the Grieving Activist

Selwyn Duke

According to many gun-control advocates, 18-year-olds are too immature to handle guns—but are mature enough to advise us on gun policy. Thus we’re told we must "listen to the voices” of the young Parkland shooting survivors. Not only that, we’re not to question or oppose them because they’re young, they’re survivors and, by golly, because it’s absolutely devastating to the anti-gun agenda!

There’s something truly reprehensible about this situation, and it’s not conservatives criticizing the positions of activist Parkland students such as David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez. It’s that liberals are usingthe students as human props and human shields, letting them throw the punches and then condemning the assailed if they dare defend themselves.
