Kavanaugh Betrays Conservatives

Timothy Birdnow

I did not have a lot of confidence in Brett Kavanaugh, although I fought for him because I was not going to allow the Left to destroy him for no good reason. But he was a lifelong insider and I suspected he was going to move leftward once he became a Justice, and so he has.

The Daily Caller has the story.

Kavanaugh sided with the liberals on the Court to deny a hearing on three court cases to defund Planned Parenthood.

From the article:

"The Supreme Court declined to review three cases relating to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood at the state level Monday, over a vigorous dissent from Justice Clarence Thomas.

The dissent was significant because it indicates that Justice Brett Kavanaugh sided with the high court’s liberal wing to deny review of a lower court decision that favored the nation’s largest abortion provider.

"So what explains the Court’s refusal to do its job here?,” Thomas wrote. "I suspect it has something to do with the fact that some respondents in these cases are named ‘Planned Parenthood.'”

[...]

"Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch joined the Thomas dissent, meaning there were three votes in favor of taking the case. Since four votes are needed for the Supreme Court to take up a case, the opinion indicates that Chief Justice John Roberts and Kavanaugh joined with the four liberals to deny review.

This move could indicate that Roberts and Kavanaugh are loath to take take up an abortion-related question in the aftermath of Kavanaugh’s contentious confirmation. The Court’s new junior justice has generally kept a low profile since taking the bench in October."

End excerpt.

So Kavanaugh joins Roberts and the liberals. What does that mean? It means that once again we squandered a wonderful opportunity and at best we have a center-left Justice. And he'll be there for decades. Great.

Normalizing Pedophilia

Timothy Birdnow

It was as certain as the sum rising. "Liberation" movements promoting homosexuality as a normal life style, and now with a movement to push "transgenderism" it was inevitable that someone would start promoting pedophilia. Amd mpw we have it.

From the article:

"A peer-reviewed academic journal has made the controversial decision to publish a piece promoting the normalization of pedophilia.

The article, "Childhood ‘Innocence’ is Not Ideal: Virtue Ethics and Child-Adult Sex,” was written by a convicted child pornographer and will appear in the December issue of Sexuality & Culture, an interdisciplinary journal that "publishes peer-reviewed theoretical articles based on logical argumentation … and empirical articles describing the results of experiments and surveys on the ethical, cultural, psychological, social, or political implications of sexual behavior,” columnist Justin Lee noted this week in Arc Digital.

The author of the piece is Tom O'Carroll, a British man who has been jailed twice for pedophilia-related offenses.

O'Carroll's article argues that virtue ethics — a broad term for ethical theories rooted in the thinking of ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, emphasizing the importance of character and virtue in moral philosophy rather than mere duty or acting in order — is not grounds for rejecting sexual acts between children and adults, and that society should allow and even celebrate them."

End excerpt.

You knew it was coming. There has been a quiet movement afoot to dismiss pedophilia as not a mental illness - exactly what was done with homosexuals decades ago and then with cross-dressers.

Even while we endure the #metoo movement where any woman may make a wild accusation against a man and he will be destroyed we are slowing removing protections from the most vulnerable in our society. We are turning into Sodom.

Ocasional Cortex claims Jewish roots

Jack Kemp

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2018/12/10/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-reveals-jewish-ancestry-hanukkah-celebration/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.4169eb6f1674

A temple in Queens got a small dose of surprise on Sunday the final night of Hanukkah when Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat with a knack for dramatic flourish, told those gathered to light the menorah that her ancestors were Jewish.

â€Å“One of the things that we discovered about ourselves is that a very, very long time ago, generations and generations ago, my family consisted of Sephardic Jews,â€Â Ocasio-Cortez said. These are Jews who settled in the Middle East, North Africa and southern Europe after the Jewish diaspora. They were expelled from Spain in 1492...

She laughed, using the occasion to connect with soon-to-be constituents, and drawing a broader lesson about freedoms of beliefs and shared values. Ocasio-Cortez, who has identified as Catholic, hardly claimed to be a practicing Jew. Her understanding of her ancestry came from "doing a lot of family trees in the last couple of years," she said.

SECTION OMITTED

The discussion of distant Jewish heritage is not an uncommon one. This summer, House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), a practicing Catholic, found out that he was 3 percent Ashkenazi Jewish, based on findings from PBSâ€â„¢s â€Å“Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates Jr.

SECTION OMITTED

The liberal firebrand is part of an incoming class of Democratic lawmakers who appear willing to split with the partyâ€â„¢s top brass in criticizing the Israeli government. In May, before she bested long-serving Rep. Joseph Crowley, Ocasio-Cortez condemned the killing of Palestinians on the Gaza border as a â€Å“massacre.â€Â In July, she criticized the â€Å“occupation of Palestine but also said she was â€Å“not the expertâ€Â on the issue â€â€ in remarks that drew scorn from conservatives.

END OF QUOTE

She claims to be part Jewish and she can't figure out how to pay for an apartment? Alexander Hamilton, who was not Jewish but went to a Jewish school in the Caribbean as a boy because no Christian school would accept this boy born out of wedlock, figured out how to pay off America's Revolutionary War debt and was the first Secretary of the Treasury. How Jewish is Ocasio-Cortez? 1/1024th? This is like the joke Connie Francis used to say, "I'm 10 percent Jewish on my agent's side."

Well, I give Ms. Occasional Cortex this: she is as obnoxious and stuborn as Ruth Bader Ginsberg and as John Kerry (who has many generations closer Jewish roots). And she has the potential to cause as many problems for the Democratic Party as both of them - without going so far in her political career.

Unclean abortions & Planned Parenthood

Jack Kemp forwards this:

Far from safe, abortion is dirty, dangerous and fatal, but Planned Parenthood would rather you not know

Is abortion 'the safest procedure?' The Planned Parenthood propaganda has dined out for years on its claim that legal abortions are the preferable alternative to 'back-alley' and 'coat-hanger' abortions. There's not a Democratic Party convention since 1973 where this hasn't been shouted to the rafters.
Apparently it's not even true.
Planned Parenthood is fighting with every tooth and nail it has to keep abortion reporting requirements 'safe' from the public eye, and it's prompting questions about just what they have to hide. According to Washington Examiner op-ed contributor Rachel N. Busick, of Americans United for Life:

Climate lunacy takes center stage in Poland

Paul Driessen

The IPCC recently claimed carbon taxes worldwide must climb to $5,500 per ton of CO2 by 2030, to avoid climate chaos. Meanwhile, the Deep State’s 2018 US National Climate Assessment predicted that continued use of fossil fuels will make global temperatures skyrocket 15 degrees F by 2100, bringing unimaginable cataclysms to civilization and planet. Both were timed to generate scare stories ahead of the IPCC’s ongoing climate conference in Katowice, Poland. So once again, headlines and computer models reign supreme over real-world evidence.

My article this week tears into these reports – and notes that the Yellow Vest protests in France … rampant energy deprivation and crushing poverty in Africa … and carbon colonialist attitudes at the World Bank show a very different aspect of the climate issue that rarely gets mentioned by the "mainstream media.”

Minneapolis "diversity" zoning plans

Jack Kemp forwards this:

Changing the character of Minneapolis in the name of diversity and equality

"By Thomas Lifson

Zoning neighborhoods for single family houses now is being held to be racist. A politically diverse group, of race- and equality-obsessed leftists combined with freedom-loving libertarians, is heralding a radical change in zoning for the entire city of Minneapolis. I beg to dissent. Basically, a city that has mostly been zoned for single-family houses will become a city characterized by three-family houses and larger apartment buildings.

[...]

"Minneapolis will become the first major U.S. city to end single-family home zoning, a policy that has done as much as any to entrench segregation, high housing costs, and sprawl as the American urban paradigm over the past century.
On Friday, the City Council passed Minneapolis 2040, a comprehensive plan to permit three-family homes in the city's residential neighborhoods, abolish parking minimums for all new construction, and allow high-density buildings along transit corridors."

Columbia to let Students grade themselves

Timothy Birdnow

I came across this at Zerohedge. Columbia University wants to let students grade themselves.

From the blogpost:

According to a Columbia University PowerPoint presentation Trusting Students to Assess Themselves, inclusive grading starts by "trusting students to assess themselves.”

I picked that link up from Columbia University Seminar to Promote ‘Inclusive Grading’.

Teachers don't know how to grade or don't want to take the time.
Honor Code

Not to worry. Columbia university will ask students to sign a pledge card so they won't cheat. That's sure to fix everything.

End excerpt.

Gee; self grading? Now what could possibly go wrong with that?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable going to a self-graded medical doctor, or driving in a car designed by a self-graded engineer. Maybe it's just me.

This is illustrative of how relativism has overtaken all of academia. AS Nietzche predicted, academia has reached the point where it no longer believes in the fundamentals of science and research; they have become nihiliistic, doubting that anything can be known and so promoting everyone's private beliefs as true - at least for them. It should be pointed out that insanity is holding a private reality over what can be seen, measured, assessed, understood.

In short, Columbia is promoting madness.

No society can survive without being grounded in reality. If this continues America is doomed.

Stalinist #metoo Witches

Dana Mathewson

The left has for a long time now been viewing the world through one or another lens, and demanding that the rest of us do too (or else admit that we are intellectual clods). For years it was the racial lens, where we whites were forced to admit we were all racists, and it kept being ratcheted up to the point (almost) where if you didn't drink black coffee (or maybe if you did -- I'm not sure which) you were a racist. It's gotten so far out on that limb that it's starting to be ridiculous, and they started having to find another field to plow.

SO -- enter #MeToo, where Sexual Abuse is the new lens through which everything must be viewed, and interestingly enough, it's leftists who are getting nabbed. No matter, every man is now a rapist and every woman is a rape victim, declaring in a little-girl voice how she was attacked at some venue she can't even describe, where no friend of hers will back her up, but raped she was, yes-siree. A woman dare not go to a male dentist to have her teeth cleaned anymore.

The problem as I see it now is, this Mankato professor misplaced the memo and sounded off on G-d about a year too early and has made the whole thing supremely ridiculous. In other words, she broke the lens long before its usefulness had run out. Who can be accused now? The Lord is NOT going to start Tweeting in His own defense, though I would dearly love it if He were to visit Mankato with a horrendous blizzard that did not touch the surrounding area. But then, I have a vindictive streak. Hey, doesn't the left tell us WE are the haters?

A WORD FROM TIM:

The Soviets and other Marxists used to employ the false confession as a tool to advance their agenda; get people accused of this or that thought crime to confess publicly, to force the general public to believe something wrong had actually occurred. This is exactly what the Left is employing with the #meetoo movement. All men must admit guilt of sexually abusing women, so that they can not oppose the Left on anything else, and so, too, the general public sees that "resistance is futile". They have done the same with race for a long, long time now. In fact, the charge of racism has gotten silly - something bandied about as an ad-hominem. Now of course they are doing it with sex.

Case in point; a number of years ago I wrote about the Irish who were enslaved on Barbados by the British after the battle of Kinsale. Guess what? I was called a racist for saying that white people were sometimes enslaved too. So racism is whatever one wishes it to be, at least these days. Now rape is whatever the Left says it is, even if it is a comment that they makes some snowflake uncomfortable. For example, a little while back a Progressive college professor made the old joke in an elevator "first floor, ladies lingerie" and a woman's studies prof filed a complaint against him for sexual harassment. She was not offended in the least; it was a tactic to promote the power of feminists to control speech. Little more. Fortunately the liberal professor got "woke" in the true fashion and refused to apologize to this Bi, er, woman.

I think Dana is right; this anti-God screed was a toe in the water, too early, certainly. I think the Mankato prof (anyone else notice the similarity between Mankato and Marcato, as in Adrian, the name of the witch in Rosemary's Baby?)wanted to see if it would fly. And, of course, was counting on people not having read the Bible and knowing that Mary actually said Yes when Gabriel asked her to be mother to the Messiah. Ignorance is the Left's greatest weapon. more...

The snow job in Poland

Paul Driessen

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is holding yet another huge climate conference, this one in Katowice, Poland – for an estimated 30,000 attendees. Organizers hope to finalize some 300 pages of guidelines to implement the 2015 Paris climate accords that they claim will save the world from cataclysmic manmade climate chaos.

In his article, CFACT president Craig Rucker explains why the entire IPCC agenda should be dismissed as an outrageously expensive hoax. Equally important, climate change is the least of concerns for developing countries: they are coping with very real and immediate energy, health and economic disasters – while climate chaos exists primarily in the realm of headlines and computer models. Asia clearly recognizes this fact: it already has nearly twice as much COAL-based electricity online or under construction as the United States is capable of generating from all sources in the height of air conditioning season.

The Wages of Feminism

Jack Kemp

Even back after high school, in the last half of the 1960s, I was friendly with my high school homeroom teacher, a shop teacher and a Jew. He had married young to a daughter of a butcher. They had a daughter and the wife, whom I had met once or twice, had gone for a masters' degree and decided to divorce her husband. As he told me, a wealthy woman in his suburban town had said to him that his wife was lucky to have such a decent guy as her husband. Perhaps she thought that with a masters' degree, all the Manhattan hipsters and "sophisticates" would want to run to marry or have a long term relationship with a woman pushing 50 when there were so many young career women in NY in their 20s, 30s and 40s. And these younger women whose family had wealth and roots in a nice home (one would not be exaggerating much by calling their childhood homes "estates").

This public school teacher husband didn't fool around with other women, was a caring father and husband. Who did she think was going to marry her now at 50 - Robert Redford? Steve McQueen? Prince Charles?

Dennis Prager recenty had a single career woman call his radio program concerning this feminist fantasy life. Here are some introductory excerpts and the link to the article.

BEGIN QUOTE

A few weeks ago, a woman named Jennifer called in. For reasons of space, I have somewhat shortened her comments. Every young woman should read them. This is precisely what she said:"Dennis, I want to get right to it. I'm 50 years old with four college degrees. I was raised by a feminist mother with no father in the home. My mother told me get an education to the maximum level so that you can get out in the world, make a lot of money. And that's the path I followed.

SECTION OMITTED

"I want to tell women in their 20s: Do not follow the path that I followed. You are leading yourself to a life of loneliness. All of your friends will be getting married and having children, and you're working to compete in the world, and what you're doing is competing with men. Men don't like competitors. Men want a partner. It took me until my late 40s to realize this.

Kevin Hart & Hollywood's "Noble Savage" Racism

Jack Kemp

This is a great, profound article.

"Kevin Hart is out as the host of the 2019 Oscars just a few days after he was in. That's how it goes, these days. The internet giveth and the internet taketh away.

Hart - an accomplished, veteran comedian - was forced to step down after refusing to apologize for "homophobi" tweets from some seven years ago. The celebrity class is largely silent. Everyone knows they're on record saying something that their own outrage mobs would find untenable. No one wants to get caught in the tempest of their own making.

But Hart's displacement isn't just about being forced to bow to a merciless culture of rage. It also serves as a reminder that there is a giant gap between Hollywood fantasy of black America and the reality of black America. We may be paying a lot of lip service to actors and artists of color these days with nominations, indignant acceptance speeches and clever hashtags but the push by white Hollywood to present itself as more 'woke' than ever is just another form of white privilege.

Mankato prof says Holy Mary didn't give consent to G-d's impregnation

Jack Kemp

Just when you thought they couldn't go any lower

https://www.theblaze.com/news/professor-says-virgin-mary-didnt-give-consent-to-being-impregnated-with-baby-jesus

Eric Sprankle, an associate professor of Clinical Psychology and Sexuality Studies at Minnesota State University Mankato, tweeted that he wasn't quite sure if the Virgin Mary had given "consent" when an angel came down from the heavens and told her that she would conceive the Christ child.

On Monday, Sprankle wrote, "The virgin birth story is about an all-knowing, all-powerful deity impregnating a human teen. There is no definition of consent that would include that scenario. Happy Holidays."

End excerpt.

A word from Tim:

Perhaps this dimwit missed the Gospel reading of the Annunciation:

30 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

34 "How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?”

35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called[a] the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”

38 "I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. "May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.{(Luke1:30=38)

Sounds to me like Gabriel asked permission for this, and Mary gave her consent.

Besides, the Creator has no obligation to ask for consent like some randy bar patron in a cheap hookup. Sorry, but The Almighty DEFINES what is good or not.

Tillerson; Lazy and Stupid

Jack Kemp

Rex Tillerson was given a chance to be Sec. of State and it didn't work out. Then, yesterday, he gave an interview where he trashed Pres. Trump.

There are probably thousands of men who would give their right testicle for the opportunity to be Secretary of State for a few months or, if thngs went well, for a few years. Even Madeline Albright was in awe of the office, noting that the first Secretary of State was Thomas Jefferson. Rex Tillerson sounds like a guy who just got fired from his job selling steak knives from a table on the boardwalk at Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Some commenters have called Trump classless for his reply but Trump gave Tillerson exactly the reply that he earned. One could imagine what "Give 'em Hell" Harry Truman would have said about such an ingrate. This Tillerson was, indeed, not worthy of the office.

Below is a brief description of Trump's reply to Rex Tillerson. It is followed by a comment by a woman calling herself "Illinios Mom" which sums up the situation quite well and to the point.

Rex Tillerson - Lazy and Dumb as a Rock

President Donald Trump ridiculed Rex Tillerson on Friday after his former Secretary of State criticized his leadership style. "He was dumb as a rock and I couldn't get rid of him fast enough" Trump said on Twitter. "He was lazy as hell." Tillerson aired his grievances against Trump, calling him "undisciplined" in an interview on Thursday, accusing him of trying to violate the laws and treaties. Tillerson stepped down as Secretary of State in March.

Reply 4 - Posted by: Illinois Mom, 12/7/2018 7:13:31 PM (No. 11856013)
What kind of man thrashes the person who gave him an amazing opportunity, tremendous responsibility, an incredible experience, and a pretty good pension?

What exactly would Tillerson know about Trump´d personal life and the technicalities our our laws and treaties?

What´s with so many powerful men becoming gossipy old women? Comey is another one along with his whole team.

Squishy, delicate, snowflake "men" are definitely NOT attractive. Yuk.

Facebook is the villain and we all finally know it

Dana Mathewson

The real meat of this article is a ways down in, and it's a long article -- and it gets pretty technical. Suffice to say that Facebunk and the others really ought to have the gummint whack them down a few pegs.

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/facebook-is-the-villain-and-we-all-finally-know-it

From the article:

"Despite repeatedly denying that Facebook sells its users’ data, the company emails released this week show that in fact it effectively did – that it leveraged our data to reward developers who spent a lot of money on the platform, and ice out its competitors, all the while making sure we, the users, never found out.

And let’s not kid ourselves that it’s just Facebook doing this. Five of the most valuable companies in the world today – Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft and Google's parent company Alphabet – have all commodified our data and used it to take over their respective sectors.

What’s equally unsettling is our government’s response. The questions that senators asked Zuckerberg during his April hearing clearly showed how little they understand about the basic workings of his company. The government has had at least 10 years to get on top of big tech companies’ exploding growth and power, but so far they’ve been allowed to act with free rein."

Climate summit language reveals real but hidden agenda

Paul Driessen

Climate Change News has published a helpful glossary of technical terms that it thinks are most important during the Katowice, Poland "climate summit.” Analyzing the list reveals a great deal about what is really going on there. For starters, not one word in this glossary addresses climate change. The 30,000 activists, bureaucrats and other "forward thinking” folks at the IPCC confab are actually designing a New World Order, not saving the planet. Their real focus is on how they will change the world, who is going to pay for that – and who is going to be in charge.

Science and logic analyst David Wojick explains it all in this revealing article – which outlines how the UN and its minions are using "climate change” as a smokescreen for planetary governance.
