Over the last eight years, the Left has taken the offensive continually while Republicans either capitulated, cooperated, procrastinated, or employed purely defensive maneuvers that amounted to a finger in the dam.

How things have changed.

It’s been barely two weeks since Donald Trump has taken office and Democrats are facing a political blitzkrieg. They are grappling for the means to handle the assault, as the party of the Left has long thought it had total control of both the narrative and the battles.

Stunned political operatives like Nancy Pelosi don’t recognize President Trump is not interested in guerilla warfare tactics, but has put into effect a broad-based offensive against the very citadels of liberal power and bloated government.

The president is putting into play a classic military maneuver applied to politics: keep going on a total and accelerated offensive no matter what in order to keep your enemy digging foxholes and putting up barriers -- while all the while they actually are being forced to slowly retreat under the onslaught, screaming and holding up protest placards all the way to the back of the line.

Democrats are unused to a total war offensive, as they have relied on relentless guerilla warfare and the long march. They are even more unused to being on the defensive, and are ill-prepared to fight defensively. They are aghast over the Trump tactics being applied against them, are assuming the old weapons once applied so effectively against their political enemies still work.

One is reminded of the French infantry fighting in World War I. "Elan,” which was a mystical sense of inevitable victory, was supposed to be enough to win the day. The result was that French soldiers were woefully unprepared for German machine guns. Guns did not take "elan” into account.

In like manner, Democrats are still hauling out old and worn out tropes from the 1960s, weapons that won victories and intimidated the opposition for two generations. But the old tactics are obsolete and increasingly prove to be virtually useless. Millions of Americans have repudiated the orthodox liturgy of the Left, wedded as it is to constant and relentless battles about race, diversity, open borders, and globalism. Millions are also sick and tired of being labeled heretics by radical Democrats who constantly dismiss decent and basically charitable Americans as haters, homophobes, misogynists, and bitter clingers to "guns and religion.”

Not many Democrats realize the most powerful weapon they have employed over the last two generations; namely the mainstream media, is now as obsolete as the Maginot Line. For decades, the Left’s Maginot Line has had its guns pointed in one direction -- against those who have opposed liberalism’s excesses and who have and still are resisting its long march through major American institutions -- citadels such as academia and the Church.

But liberals badly miscalculated by underestimating Trump, (along with, at times, the author of this article, who has gradually changed her mind). Like the Germans who simply went around the Maginot Line, Trump has simply gone around and over the fortifications built by leftist media outlets.

In so doing, Trump has effectively neutered the fourth arm of the government. The Left can no longer rely on the mainstream media as a powerful weapon, as due to new technology and the internet, it is becoming as archaic as Big Bertha in the face of the development and implementation of missiles.

Trump correctly discerned that ordinary citizens who desire nothing more than to be left alone to enjoy peace and while at an actual job or sitting by their undisturbed hearths are sick to death of constantly being roiled by the incessant demands of the latest approved victim of the month. They are fed up with the constant assaults on authority and on their faith. For them, the old tactics from radicals’ playbooks dating from the 1960s have become merely irritating and meaningless liturgical chants rather than urgent and legitimate calls for justice.

The fact is that millions of Americans do not want the fundamental transformation desired by the Left. They want an America transformed by fundamentals -- the fundamentals that have been and still are the bedrock of American society; namely, constitutional law and adherence to the Bill of Rights.

At the heart of the Trump political blitzkrieg is the core belief that America has been going down the wrong path for many years and that it is urgent that the ship of state be turned around before it sinks into the vortex created by extremists.

The battle in America is the same battle that is being fought in Europe and around the world. Will it be the ideology of the radical Left that prevails? Will globalists prevail or will the legitimacy of national identities endure? Will a monoculture of the Left be established or will peoples of the world be free to be truly diverse in thought, word, and deed? Will international law trump national sovereignty or will Americans and citizens of other free nations retain their unique and indelible character as formed by founding documents, history and traditions?

It seems that for Trump, the time is now or never. It appears he is willing and able to go after the citadels of power that have weakened America and her foundational beliefs, he not inclined to take the George McClellan way of battle -- endlessly organizing and rehearsing battle maneuvers, studying textbook battles while preparing for attacks by erecting ineffectual bulwarks. Instead he seems more inclined to the tactics of William Tecumseh Sherman -- as applied to political war.

That is perhaps why he picked John Gorsuch, who is the judicial equivalent of General Robert E. Lee, for a position on the Supreme Court. Gorsuch has signaled he is not prepared to adjudicate on the bases of mystical penumbras, from anti-science argumentations, and from mere hunches or intuitions like those of a "wise Latina.” Gorsuch shares the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s dedication to the interpretation of laws based on the actual text.

He has stated: "Judges should instead strive, if humanly and so imperfectly, to apply the law as it is, focusing backward, not forward, and looking to text, structure, and history to decide what a reasonable reader at the time of the events in question would have understood the law to be.”

Further, Gorsuch believes the Constitution should be interpreted as America’s Founders intended, not used as a vehicle for ever changing and fluid "fundamental transformation.”

The responses of Democrats have been predictable, old school radical, boring and outdated. Already they are characterizing Gorsuch’s stances as not being "mainstream.” No sooner was Gorsuch’s name announced than a group of protestors appeared carrying professionally printed signs calling him "extreme” and "dangerous.”

Yes, there is nothing quite as convincing as a "spontaneous” uprising from people who are probably hirelings. We have seen such "spur-of-the-moment” outrages many times. The extemporaneity of the Left is always so compelling.

The truth is that their weapons are outdated will prove futile in the long run.

However, it is still wise to put on helmets when engaged in guerilla warfare and facing sniper fire. There are still many battles to be fought, though it might appear liberalism is in the position of Custer during his last stand.

But due to Trump’s broad front against the excesses of liberalism and the tacit complicity of some with leftist goals, at least conservatives are on the offensive and conducting total warfare for the first time in a very long time.

Writing at Americans for Limited Government, Michael Banon argues we should make the border wall pay for itself. His idea is to cut off aid to aliens and apply that to the wall building. Not a bad idea.

But it doesn't really profit us. If we're going to do something like a wall, why not make it work for us and not just cost us money? I have a modest proposal.

Who here remembers the movie Escape from New York? In this '80s flick a decrepid New York City has been turned into a maximum security prison, with Manhattan ringed by patrol vessels and the tunnels and bridges barricaded. People given life in prison would be dumped on the island via helicopter, never to leave. Roving gangs own the streets. When Air Force One goes down on the island an ex con named Snake Pliskin (Kurt Russell) must rescue him or die trying.

The real star of the movie isn't Russell or Lee Van Cleef or Donald Pleasance but rather the city itself. It gets one to thinking....

If we are going to build a huge, thousand mile long wall anyway, why not put it to good use; build a giant prison along the southern border in uninhabited territory. Toss all the derelicts, miscreants, and dirtbags inside, and they can act as passive defenses for our country. We will already have built one side of the prison, so it will radically reduce costs. Why not do this? We have to have prisons anyway, and we are going to build a wall/fence precisely to keep people out. We could build a chain of prisons along the southern border and sell off the current crop of federal penitentiaries that now dot the American landscape. It would provide work for the inhabitants of the border region (who now suffer from economic problems caused by the unsafe environment of the border) and it would put armed men on the walls to not just watch the prisoners but the border as well. Kill two birds with one stone.

And so much of the border is waste land or nearly so; prisoners escaping would have a tough time. They aren't going to want to go into Mexico so the route of excape is narrowed down for the authoritiess.

This is an idea whose time has come! It is an efficient use of our resources and makes the criminals - who owe a debt to society - perform a useful if passive service to our country.

You may say I'm a dreamer, but my vision will hopefully stop the DREAMERS!

Wall tweets! Wall news stories. Wall interviews. Who, oh who, will pay for that damn wall? Those who want the wall argue about how to pay for it. Those who don't want the wall argue that no one will pay for it.

But the answer is easy. Make the wall pay for itself.

President Trump has estimated the wall could cost $10 billion. A report from Bernstein Research says the wall will cost as much $25 billion. Fine, let's take the larger number. We are talking about a government project after all.

Where does one find $25 billion? To the average person that's some chunk of change. Especially when Mexico no tienen el dinero.

Take the money from the government feed trough, of course. But wait, I thought we wanted Mexico to pay for the wall? Why care if Mexico pays for the wall, as long as we don't? And we can even save some money in the process.

Make the wall pay for itself.

Anyone with half a brain in government should be able to come up with $25 billion. In the government scheme of things that's pocket change.

How much money does illegal immigration cost the U.S. each year? Those numbers are hard to find. FAIR, the Federation for American Immigration Reform estimated the cost of illegal immigration in 2013 at $113 billion. $84 billion from state and local governments, $29 billion from the federal government. Tax receipts from those illegal immigrants were approximated at $13 billion. That's a net illegal immigration cost of $100 billion a year.

We've got some numbers to play with. Say the cost of the wall doubles to $50 billion. And let's even assume the costs of illegal immigration are over estimated. Cut that in half to $50 billion. $50 billion, or enough to build the wall. And that's just from one year of savings.

Now all we need to do is cut off the all assistance and benefits to those illegal immigrants. Nothing. Zip. Nada. If you're not here legally, you get no benefits. The $50 billion to 100 billion per year in savings would pay for the wall in no time. There would even be money left over. And with benefits cut off, there is no financial reason for those who received those benefits to stay. Or to come here in the first place. Some of them would probably leave. There would be less need for a wall if we take away the freebees as an incentive to come over, around or under the wall.

Cut off the benefits. Let the wall pay for itself.

The photo, shared on Trump’s presidential Twitter feed, shows Trump, his two eldest sons, Vice President Pence and wife Karen, Reince Priebus, and Justice Scalia’s widow Maureen and son Fr. Paul Scalia, among others, praying with nominee Neil Gorsuch and his wife Marie Louise in the White House.

The photo was taken shortly after Trump announced Gorsuch as his pick to fill the late Antonin Scalia’s seat.

The time taken to publicly pray for the Senate confirmation and future career of man who may become one of America’s top decision-makers for decades to come is a momentous occasion for Christians who considered Trump’s Supreme Court pick to be a primary reason for voting for him.

As the Supreme Court, as well as lower circuit courts, have increasingly pulled America away from biblical principles, it is refreshing to see a presidential administration's focus turned back toward God in helping lead our country.

ne of the people complaining about the Trump Supreme Ct. pick is Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon. Wyden previously approved this judge to his current position, as did ALL other Democrats.

I happened to be shopping in the famous Strand Bookstore in NY today where they will sell you a button that says (sorry, Fay) "2016 Sucks" and they still sell little plastic Trump hands. I laughed at the sign and the toy hands but was laughing at the libs' frustration, not with it. So what does an Oregon Senator have to do with a NY City bookstore?

Starbucks said that they will hire 10,000 refugees rather than American citizens. The federal EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) says in its rules that it is a major civil rights violation to discriminate against someone's national origina. So it appears that there is a great basis for an individual or a class action lawsuit based on national origin (such as U.S. citizenship) here. If I'm a lawyer, I'd like to represent a number of black U.S. citizens as well as white and Asian and Hispanic ones.

Get those applications in at Starbucks - and contact a conservative lawyer (perhaps beforehand). Plus Starbucks is being boycotted by many. Like you can't get coffee somewhere else.

Yet if the media is the opposition party, what is the Democratic Party? It’s supposed to be the loyal opposition, using checks and balances to restrain the president and the excess of one-party rule.

Unfortunately, the Dems are following a dangerously different path. Starting with a wide boycott of the inauguration and including their boycott of committee votes on Trump’s cabinet and their pledge to filibuster any Supreme Court nominee, Democrats resemble a party fomenting a secession movement.

Some call it Trump Derangement Syndrome, but that’s too kind. It’s not a temporarily insane reaction, it’s a calculated plan to wreck the presidency, whatever the cost to the country.

Things never seen in the modern era are now rapidly becoming common. Impeachment talk already is rumbling in the party’s hothouses, and Trump was met with a lawsuit the minute he took the oath.

Dana, this man is a good choice for the Supreme Court. As far as Chuck Schumer is concerned, ALL Republicans are more extreme than Adolph Hitler simply because they won't do Chuckie's bidding. I think Trump should use similar tactics to the nuclear option to get his Sec. of State and the other Cabinet Officers approved within two weeks. And we have to get rid of anchor baby's legality in a Supreme Ct. challenge.

Dana, we haven't got months to spare like the rabbi and the householder. We need a Sec. of State now and every day we don't have one, the Dems are emboldened. And a call to reason and civility ended when Barack Obama told the GOP, "I won. You lost."

We are "no longer in Kansas." The old America may not be dead in the Midwest, but it is in Washington. These Dems are like the Bolsheviks with better haircuts and clothes. The America you grew up in is gone - in national politics. To give you the smallest and biggest example, who would have believed, in 1994, that a Democrat President (Bill Clinton) would fire the travel office head (an original JFK appointee) and march him out the White House like some common criminal so he could put his cronies in office? He could have simply fired him without humiliating him. Or that the Sec. of State (Hillary) would keep secret information at home in violation of all oaths of office? Politics was a blood sport beforehand but I haven't seen people like Schumer since some of my European socialist relatives were around in the 1980s as embittered old men and women.

CEO Tells People ‘Rest Easy,’ Predicts Trump Assassination Within 100 Days

There has been no shortage of vitriol directed at President Donald Trump, but one CEO recently went beyond criticism to what could be viewed as a threat.

Ted Kornblum, Founder and CEO of Magnatone guitar amplifier company, posted on Jan. 30, "Rest easy people, it’ll take only 100 days till Trump gets a bullet in the head!”

Kornblum posted the statement via his personal Facebook page, which now appears to have been deactivated. He issued an apology on the Magnatone company Facebook page for the original post. That page may also have been taken down. The content had been visible on the Magnatone website early Jan. 31.

In that apology, Kornblum downplayed the seriousness of his original post stating, "Earlier today a frivolous, insensitive political post went out on Facebook. It should not have. Magnatone is not a political organization, respects the beliefs and opinions of all people and does business accordingly.”

He also said "I sincerely regret this careless mistake, and apologize to anyone, anywhere, who may have been offended.”

Many people, including talk radio host John Cardillo, have reported the incident to law enforcement and Secret Service through social media.
