Timothy Birdnow
Dear readers,
I maintain two websites - tbirdnow.mee.nu and timothybirdnow.com - as mirror sites. I started doing that when I ran into problems with Blogger years ago and had to transfer. The Mee.nu site is excellent, but I wanted some insurance and reader Jim kindly offered the use of his server so I could maintain my own domain name. It is extra work, but worth it to preserve the postings.
At any rate, the timothybirdnow.com website is supported by wordpress, and has been decent until the last few months. I am now having a problem with posts disappearing from the blog. They are there when I post them, but later - poof! Gone as if they never existed. Sometimes they are gone within minutes, sometimes hours or days. But gone they are. I have contacted wordpress about it, but as yet have received no reply.
Given the nature of this website, I strongly suspect the site has been hacked. Perhaps people at wordpress itself are the culprits; not all of the posts disappear, as if someone is hoping that I won't catch the disappearance. It is as if a silent war is being waged against us.
I am not a very technical person, and would appreciate any help you, my wise and loyal readers, can offer.
With all my thanks,
Tim

Boston underwater by 2011?
Glub, glub.
Mark Steyn had a reference to this,
http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MTNlNmNiNTE5ZDQ1NWM1NGMyMTNiNWQxYjM2NWE2ZTk=
Over here the brain-dead twits doing their best to turn the Boston Globe circulation figures into Michael Mann's phony hockey stick upside down are going with "Boston Faces Deep Risk From Sea-Level Rise." Why not build protective dikes with unsold bundles of the Globe — or the delivery trucks?
END OF QUOTE
But the link doesn't have much detail. I did a search using Microsoft Bing on "Boston underwater 2011," and all I got were references to US mortgages defaulting. I didn't know that Bing does sarcasm.
But if the "global warming intellectuals" at Harvard and MIT really believe that Boston will be underwater soon, then Harvard and MIT should sell off their property for boat anchorage or fishing and lobstering rights - and move to the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. After all, Boston fronts on the Atlantic Ocean and those two universities are not far inland.
If the scientists who are claiming this is Boston underwater hysteria is true aren't from Harvard or MIT, then where are there specific recommendations to those two universities to literally head for the hills?
These Warmers are starting to look more and more like that stock figure of 1950s cartoons, the man in the flowing robe with long hair and a the full beard, carrying the sign that says, "Repent! The End is Near."
Kind of like Al Gore without the frequent flyer miles.
END
A note from Dana Mathewson:
And they're saying it as though it would be a bad thing! Amazing! If it were actually to happen, it would be something akin to Hercules cleaning the Augean Stables. (I remember a My Turn article in Newsweek, back when that publication was readable, by a guy in Boston who explained much about Boston, including the fact that the real reason Boston was often referred to as the Athens of America was that it was full of ancient, crumbling buildings -- he also said Americans mistakenly though they could understand a Boston accent because they could "understand" the Kennedys (as in JFK and Jackie), but Bostonians all thought the Kennedys were speaking French.)
I think, with the release of the hacked e-mails and now (eventually?) the "data" that the Global Warmiac "scientists" used, we can expect to see redoubled, hysterical attempts to convince us that Yes, Virginia, there really is Anthropogenic Global Warming -- and Pay No Attention To That Scientist Behind The Curtain!

I blush for education in my state.
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/11/025047.php
This from Powerline:
"Everybody is familiar with the vulgar Marxism in which race is substituted for class. In one form or another, it is ubiquitous in the academy, though its racism pervades every form. It has given rise to stultifying orthodoxies in doctrine, governance and curriculum.
The University of Minnesota's College of Education and Human Development is the foremost institution through which primary and secondary school teachers are licensed to teach in the state. In her Star Tribune column last week our friend Katherine Kersten blew the whistle on it. Kersten exposed a particularly vicious brand of the academy's vulgar Marxism at the College of Education in its Teacher Education Redesign Initiative.
The initiative is a multiyear project to change the the way future teachers are trained at the College of Education. Addressing the Race, Culture, Class, and Gender Task Group's contribution to the initiative, Kersten argued that the initiative sought to require the ideological indoctrination of future teachers using patented techniques of reeducation made famous outside Minnesota. The Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group's contribution to the initiative is set forth in this report.
The title of the core section of the report is "What Successful Beginning Teachers Need to Know & How to Assess and How to Teach Them." The first point is: "Future teachers will understand themselves as beings who position themselves and are positioned by others in relation to dimensions of differences (racial, social class, gender), and other hierarchies in school and society." Other key points include include:
1. The College of Education and Human Development's proposed "teacher education redesign" plan would require students to adopt "race, culture, class and gender" identity politics in order to be recommended for a teaching license.
2. The rationale given is that teachers' lack of "cultural competence" is a major reason that many minority students perform poorly in Minnesota schools.
3. The plan includes 14 "outcomes" all prospective teachers would have to meet, as well as "assessment" methods to assure they had achieved the outcomes. The first outcome is typical: "Future teachers will be able to discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression."
Other highlights from the report deserve attention:
"Future teachers will understand that they are privileged & marginalized depending on context."
"Future teachers will recognize & demonstrate understanding of white privilege."
"Future teachers are able to explain how institutional racism works in schools"
"Our future teachers will be able to construct and articulate a sophisticated and nuanced critical analysis of [the American Dream].... In pursuing this analysis, students will make use of...the following:
o Myth of meritocracy in the United States
o Historical connections between scientific racism, intelligence testing, and assumptions of fixed mental capacity....
o History of demands for assimilation to white, middle-class, Christian meanings and values
o History of white racism, with special focus on current colorblind ideology
4. In assessments, students are evaluated and graded on whether they conform to the "race, class, gender" agenda. They must, for example, write a "self-discovery paper" in which they "describe their own ethno-cultural background." They must describe their own prejudices and stereotypes, question their "cultural" motives for wishing to become teachers, and take two "cultural intelligence"-type assessments. They are graded (for example) on "the extent to which they find intrinsic satisfaction" in "cross-cultural interactions."
One assessment activity reads as follows:
"Autoethnography should reflect appreciation for how dominant pedagogical styles, school curricula, behavioral expectations, personal prejudices of school personnel...often convey overt and covert messages that devalue the culture, heritage, and identity of minority students."
5. Students must not only demonstrate changed thinking -- they must become activists. They must learn that schools are "critical sites for social and cultural transformation." One outcome reads: "Future teachers create & fight for social justice even if it's just in their classroom"'

Here is an excerpt:
White House Science Czar Involved in Climategate
Friday, November 27, 2009 2:21 PM
By: L.D. Breen Article Font Size
You haven’t heard it from America’s mainstream media yet – even Fox News hasn’t covered it – but the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Dr. John P. Holdren, is a key player in the Climategate e-mails flap, which is shaping up as the biggest scandal in the history of modern science.
Holdren is an intractable global warming activist with no time for climate change skepticism. In a New York Times article, he contended that such questioning “has delayed – and continues to delay – the development of the political consensus that will be needed if society is to embrace remedies commensurate with the challenge.”
But the Canada Free Press this week revealed that the former Harvard professor and Al Gore global warming adviser features prominently in the thousands of e-mails and other files made public after the hacking last week of a computer server used by the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit.
{...}
As Newsmax has previously reported, Dr. Holdren has a history of alarmingly extremist views. He co-authored a 1977 book, “Ecoscience: Population Resources, Environment,” advocating compulsory abortion for purposes of population control, mass sterilization, government-dictated family size like China’s one-child policy, and a “planetary regime” to be policed by the United Nations.
End excerpt.
Holdren, it should be pointed out, was also heavily engaged in the proposal by Margaret Mead to create a world crisis back in the early seventies. http://www.21stcenturysciencetech.com/Articles%202007/GWHoaxBorn.pdf

Steve Rankin forwards this outstanding piece from the Ludwig Von Mises Institute:

THE WONDERS OF SOCIALIZED MEDICINE
"In Canada, the population is divided into three age groups in terms of their access to healthcare: those below 45, those 45–65, and those over 65. Needless to say, the first group, who could be called the "active taxpayers," enjoys priority treatment."
******************************
by Yuri N. Maltsev
In 1918, the Soviet Union became the first country to promise universal "cradle-to-grave" healthcare coverage, to be accomplished through the complete socialization of medicine. The "right to health" became a "constitutional right" of Soviet citizens.
The proclaimed advantages of this system were that it would "reduce costs" and eliminate the "waste" that stemmed from "unnecessary duplication and parallelism" — i.e., competition.
These goals were similar to the ones declared by Mr. Obama and Ms. Pelosi — attractive and humane goals of universal coverage and low costs. What's not to like?
The system had many decades to work, but widespread apathy and low quality of work paralyzed the healthcare system. In the depths of the socialist experiment, healthcare institutions in Russia were at least a hundred years behind the average US level. Moreover, the filth, odors, cats roaming the halls, drunken medical personnel, and absence of soap and cleaning supplies added to an overall impression of hopelessness and frustration that paralyzed the system. According to official Russian estimates, 78 percent of all AIDS victims in Russia contracted the virus through dirty needles or HIV-tainted blood in the state-run hospitals.
Irresponsibility, expressed by the popular Russian saying "They pretend they are paying us and we pretend we are working," resulted in appalling quality of service, widespread corruption, and extensive loss of life. My friend, a famous neurosurgeon in today's Russia, received a monthly salary of 150 rubles — one third of the average bus driver's salary.
In order to receive minimal attention by doctors and nursing personnel, patients had to pay bribes. I even witnessed a case of a "nonpaying" patient who died trying to reach a lavatory at the end of the long corridor after brain surgery. Anesthesia was usually "not available" for abortions or minor ear, nose, throat, and skin surgeries. This was used as a means of extortion by...

Jack Kemp (not the late politician)
Yesterday I found myself on a one day tour with some people to the country. At lunch, I found out one of them was a New York City American History teacher. This was interesting in that I have wanted to find out what they do or don't teach these days in high school on the subject. I heard him complain about the watered down content ("not like when you and I went to school") in his field and the lowering of passing grades on the state exam, The NY State Regents, from 75 to 55. And if that weren't enough, the History exam is open book. They give it some politically correct three letter acronym to imply that referencing skills are being tested, but it is a sham.
Speaking about his first teaching job, he told of actually getting himself and his class in overalls and repainting the decrepit classroom. That got him in a lot of trouble with the Teachers' Union - and probably the Custodians, Carpenters, Painters unions as well. But by the end of the year, he had improved the worst students so well that they gave him the best students the following year. He missed the impact he had on the lives of what I'll call the beginning learners. Cynically (okay, with a bet of encouragement from myself), he stated that he thought the school didn't want him showing the worst students that they really weren't so dumb and could do thinks for themselves.
The teacher started out by blaming (nominal Republican and former lifetime Democrat) Mayor Bloomberg for not raising the teaching standards. His own teachers union has a lot more to do with the deterioration of public school standards than latecomer Bloomberg, but I guess it is safer to blame the "Republican." He also was worried about his pension and Social Security being there for him when he retires. And he spoke badly of ObamaCare being a sham that will cut benefits.
Jokingly, I mentioned the old Groucho Marx television quiz show and the consolation prize question, "Who's buried in Grants Tomb?" He said most of his students can't even answer that. And he mentioned the broken homes these students came from, but made no mention of the importation of unbridled poverty stricken immigrants and the lowering of social standards in the last decades. He also mentioned problem students being put in with regular ones, of an 18 year old who could no longer be forced to take his medication attacking this same teacher while off his meds.
While I have no proof this teacher was a Democrat, I suspect that is the case. But either way, the social policies of the Democratic Party did not help this teacher's situation as someone who appeared to really want to help his students to learn. For all the venting he did - and there are many other teachers in big cities like New York, Chicago and St. Louis who probably could say similar things - I suspect the majority of them who voted for the same party that did nothing to build up their city's economy and kept poor neighborhoods poor will go on voting for the same "social justice" in 2012.
It's up to all of us - the rest of us- to turn this thing around.

Yep, you read that right. At least, that's what they're saying here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/copenhagen-climate-change-confe/6678469/Climategate-University-of-East-Anglia-U-turn-in-climate-change-row.html
Don't look for it tomorrow. (FTA) Professor Trevor Davies, the university's Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research Enterprise and Engagement, said yesterday: "... We are grateful for the necessary support of the Met Office in requesting the permissions for releasing the information but understand that responses may take several months and that some countries may refuse permission due to the economic value of the data." END QUOTE
In other words, that means we may get only 10% of it, if that much.
I read another article yesterday at http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/climategate-computer-codes-are-the-real-story/ that suggests that the data they are using is, quite frankly, a mess. As a guy who is now retired from a 30+ year career as a computer systems analyst/programmer, I read this last article with a deep sense of empathy for the poor chap being quoted in it -- the poor sap who was attempting to actually make some sense of the data.
I expect that anyone who gets his or her hands on whatever the East Anglians give us is going to end up saying something like "THIS junk is supposed to tell us the world is coming to an end?"

Well I couldn't have written this, but it makes a lot of sense to me.
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/less_of_catholic_3X9hW1BqyuKsbEX38FlVbK#ixzz0YD9eL6yC
Less of a Catholic
Why Rep. Kennedy is wrongNews broke this week that Thomas Tobin, the Catholic bishop of Providence, RI, had in 2007 asked Rep. Patrick Kennedy to refrain from receiving Communion because of the congressman's support for legalized abortion. The ensuing howls of protest almost universally missed the point.
Some Catholic writers charged that Tobin was sowing division within the church and "politicizing" the sacrament. On the pro-choice left, Tobin was flayed for everything from "religious blackmail" to -- inexplicably -- violating the separation of church and state.
Perhaps the strangest comment came from former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, who predicted that if pols like Kennedy started listening to the bishop, "nobody would vote for Catholics" because voters would fear they'd "be guided by [their] faith."
And, if he succeeds, it might go a long way toward returning some thoughtfulness to America's public discourse.
It's a steep mountain to climb: Kennedy is heir -- literally as well as figuratively -- to a long line of pro-choice, self-professedly Catholic politicians who've managed to pretend to be in line with the Catholic position on abortion while in fact flatly ignoring it.
"The fact that I disagree with the hierarchy on some issues does not make me any less of a Catholic," Kennedy said earlier this month, criticizing the US bishops' opposition to any public funding of abortion as part of ObamaCare.
His statement tracks well with Cuomo's famous 1984 pronouncement that, while he's opposed to abortion in his "private observance" as a Catholic, he sees no need "to press the case that our morality should be everybody else's" -- i.e., to work for an end to abortion in law.
That's essentially been the line taken by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, Gov. Paterson, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani -- and, of course, Kennedy's father, the late Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.
It's also, logically speaking, nonsense.
Kennedy, Cuomo & Co. are essentially saying, per the Catholic understanding, that they believe an unborn child to be an innocent human being possessing full human dignity -- yet the state is under no obligation to protect that child from intentional violent death.
This is why the church presents its opposition to abortion as a matter of social justice, not just personal morality: There's a necessary, logical link, it reasons, between the belief in a just and loving God and the responsibility of a political leader to strive for justice.
So, what's behind all the grief Tobin's been taking?
Part of it, undoubtedly, is cultural: For families like the Kennedys, Catholicism is often as much a marker of clan identity as of creed.
From that perspective, the bishop's insistence that the faith makes demands on one's actions would smack of coercion -- much like threatening to snatch a prized heirloom from the parlor.
But if, as Tobin insists, the church is a communion of be lievers, then it's entirely Kennedy's choice whether to sign on.
The broader critique -- that the mere expectation that politicians allow their faith to influence their public duties smacks of theocracy -- is just as vapid.
By that logic, the biggest violator of church-state separation in US history would have been the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. -- though it's doubtful Cuomo would say Americans would fear his being "guided by faith."
In reality, the Catholic Church is simply the strongest repository nowadays for a fully public and reasoned argument: that unborn children, possessing the attributes attendant human life, deserve the protection of law.
The faux pluralism that recoils from "imposing" a "religious" viewpoint merely allows Kennedy, Cuomo and Pelosi to duck that argument entirely -- all while pretending to remain faithful to Catholic doctrine.
Catholics, as a practical matter, may argue over precisely how far bishops should go in rebuking pro-choice pols -- though one should note that Tobin's dealing with Kennedy was fairly cool-headed.
He brought his concerns to the congressman in private -- and only spoke out publicly when Kennedy implied that a faithful Catholic can believe whatever he darn well pleases.
No surprise there: A bishop's job is to teach the faith.
The rest of the country should wish him well, too. Anyone who prompts our politicians to show more intellectual honesty can't be half bad.

James Hansen runs NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Research (GISS), one of only four processors of raw temperature data. The others are the now disgraced University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (in partnership with the Met office Hadley, so often it is listed as Hadley-Cru), with the University of Huntsville, Alabama (UHA), and with the Remote Sensing Sytem of Santa Rosa California. GISS is a large part of the basis for policy decisions, since processed data from his outfit was used extensively (along with CRU) in all of the IPCC reports.
Notice the nearly hysterical rantings in this discussion; he advocates the total transformation of the world economic system, and wants to drive gas prices out of reach for the average person.
The Observer, 29 November 2009
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2009/nov/29/copenhagen-summit-climate-change
Q:Nasa's James Hansen was the first to point out the perils of climate change to the US Congress. Here, he begins a heated debate with experts from around the world, from China to the threatened Maldives, and argues that our leaders must be shaken out of their complacency. But will they show enough courage at next week's Copenhagen summit to take the first steps to saving the planet?
A:Absolutely. It is possible – if we give politicians a cold, hard slap in the face. The fraudulence of the Copenhagen approach – "goals" for emission reductions, "offsets" that render ironclad goals almost meaningless, the ineffectual "cap-and-trade" mechanism – must be exposed. We must rebel against such politics as usual.
Science reveals that climate is close to tipping points. It is a dead certainty that continued high emissions will create a chaotic dynamic situation for young people, with deteriorating climate conditions out of their control.
Science also reveals what is needed to stabilise atmospheric composition and climate. Geophysical data on the carbon amounts in oil, gas and coal show that the problem is solvable, if we phase out global coal emissions within 20 years and prohibit emissions from unconventional fossil fuels such as tar sands and oil shale.
Such constraints on fossil fuels would cause carbon dioxide emissions to decline 60% by mid-century or even more if policies make it uneconomic to go after every last drop of oil.
Improved forestry and agricultural practices could then bring atmospheric carbon dioxide back to 350 ppm (parts per million) or less, as required for a stable climate.
Governments going to Copenhagen claim to have such goals for 2050, which they will achieve with the "cap-and-trade" mechanism. They are lying through their teeth.
Unless they order Russia to leave its gas in the ground and Saudi Arabia to leave its oil in the ground (which nobody has proposed), they must phase out coal and prohibit unconventional fossil fuels.
Instead, the United States signed an agreement with Canada for a pipeline to carry oil squeezed from tar sands. Australia is building port facilities for large increases in coal export. Coal-to-oil factories are being built. Coal-fired power plants are being constructed worldwide. Governments are stating emission goals that they know are lies – or, if we want to be generous, they do not understand the geophysics and are kidding themselves.
Is it feasible to phase out coal and avoid use of unconventional fossil fuels? Yes, but only if governments face up to the truth: as long as fossil fuels are the cheapest energy, their use will continue and even increase on a global basis.
Fossil fuels are cheapest because they are not made to pay for their effects on human health, the environment and future climate.
Governments must place a uniform rising price on carbon, collected at the fossil fuel source – the mine or port of entry. The fee should be given to the public in toto, as a uniform dividend, payroll tax deduction or both. Such a tax is progressive – the dividend exceeds added energy costs for 60% of the public.
Fee and dividend stimulates the economy, providing the public with the means to adjust lifestyles and energy infrastructure.
Fee and dividend can begin with the countries now considering cap and trade. Other countries will either agree to a carbon fee or have duties placed on their products that are made with fossil fuels.
As the carbon price rises, most coal, tar sands and oil shale will be left in the ground. The marketplace will determine the roles of energy efficiency, renewable energy and nuclear power in our clean energy future.
Cap and trade with offsets, in contrast, is astoundingly ineffective. Global emissions rose rapidly in response to Kyoto, as expected, because fossil fuels remained the cheapest energy.
Cap and trade is an inefficient compromise, paying off numerous special interests. It must be replaced with an honest approach, raising the price of carbon emissions and leaving the dirtiest fossil fuels in the ground.
Are we going to stand up and give global politicians a hard slap in the face, to make them face the truth? It will take a lot of us – probably in the streets. Or are we going to let them continue to kid themselves and us and cheat our children and grandchildren?
Intergenerational inequity is a moral issue. Just as when Abraham Lincoln faced slavery and when Winston Churchill faced Nazism, the time for compromises and half-measures is over. Can we find a leader who understands the core issue and will lead?
(James Hansen is director of Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York. His latest book is Storms of My Grandchildren.)

Here is some interesting fallout from the The Sunday Times, 29 November 2009 over the motley CRU data scandal:
Jonathan Leake, Environment Editor
Leaked emails have revealed the unwillingness of climate change scientists to engage in a proper debate with the sceptics who doubt global warming.
The storm began with just four cryptic words. “A miracle has happened,” announced a contributor to Climate Audit, a website devoted to criticising the science of climate change. “RC” said nothing more — but included a web link that took anyone who clicked on it to another site, Real Climate.
There, on the morning of November 17, they found a treasure trove: a thousand or so emails sent or received by Professor Phil Jones, director of the climatic research unit at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Jones is a key player in the science of climate change.
His department’s databases on global temperature changes and its measurements have been crucial in building the case for global warming.
What those emails suggested, however, was that Jones and some colleagues may have become so convinced of their case that they crossed the line from objective research into active campaigning. In one, Jones boasted of using statistical “tricks” to obliterate apparent declines in global temperature.
In another he advocated deleting data rather than handing them to climate sceptics. And in a third he proposed organised boycotts of journals that had the temerity to publish papers that undermined the message. It was a powerful and controversial mix — far too powerful for some. Real Climate is a website designed for scientists who share Jones’s belief in man-made climate change.
Within hours the file had been stripped from the site. Several hours later, however, it reappeared — this time on an obscure Russian server. Soon it had been copied to a host of other servers, first in Saudi Arabia and Turkey and then Europe and America.
What’s more, the anonymous poster was determined not to be stymied again. He or she posted comments on climate-sceptic blogs, detailing a dozen of the best emails and offering web links to the rest. Jones’s statistical tricks were now public property.
Steve McIntyre, a prominent climate sceptic, was amazed. “Words failed me,” he said.
Another, Patrick Michaels, declared: “This is not a smoking gun; this is a mushroom cloud.”
Inevitably, the affair became nicknamed Climategate. For the scientists, campaigners and politicians trying to rouse the world to action on climate change the revelations could hardly have come at a worse time.
Next month global leaders will assemble in Copenhagen to seek limits on carbon emissions. The last thing they need is renewed doubts about the validity of the science.

Now that Global Warming is back in the news, complete with a black eye and assorted other cuts and bruises, here's a good article that cuts to the chase. Specifically titled "What Is --And What Isn't-- Evidence of Global Warming?" this article suggests that symptoms alone don't guarantee that a particular disease is present.

Brian Birdnow forwards this piece from Human Events. It dovetails with his latest at Townhall about political correctness and the Ft. Hood shooting.
Here is the Human Events piece:
Ft. Hood Killer at Work in Annapolis
by Anonymous Writer
Political correctness was responsible for the death of thirteen people at Ft. Hood. Of this I am certain. I have watched political correctness at work in the military for more than three decades while serving in two different military branches. I may not have seen it all but, I have seen quite a bit of it.
Aside from academia and the civilian government workforce, there is no place else in America where political correctness is as rampant as military. The rules of political correctness are not listed in military regulations. It is like knowing where to find the chow hall. Everyone just knows.
Press reports indicate Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan grossly misbehaved for years. Not only wasn’t he seriously reprimanded, but he was actually promoted in spite of engaging in behavior that would have quickly ended the careers of others. Many of us who have witnessed similar behavior know what occurred. Hasan’s activities were virtually ignored because he is Muslim.
Politically correctness is a major cancer in today’s military. There are favored minority groups that are given special rights, privileges and treatment not available to non-minorities. Military awards are one example. Sister services -- the Navy and Marine Corps -- have between them at least 15 awards reserved only for women or minorities including Black Engineer of the Year, National Organization for Mexican American Rights Meritorious Service, and the Society of American-Indian Government Employees awards.
The Army’s hands-off approach toward the Muslim Hasan contrasts significantly with how Defense officials have handled those practicing mainstream religions.
Hasan was a medical professional serving in a sacred role administering to the most vulnerable; yet, he was proselytizing to his patients about Islam. In spite of this, he was twice promoted.
About the same time Hasan was preaching Islam to the wounded, complaints arose of alleged proselytizing by Evangelical Christians at the U.S. Air Force Academy. A major Pentagon task force was dispatched, investigated and found a "perception of religious bias." Nonetheless, nearly six years after complaints first arose at USAFA, Christian activity at the school is still closely scrutinized.
Military political correctness is rampant much closer to the nation’s capital. The U.S. Naval Academy is to train young adults to serve in the combat arms of the Navy and Marine Corps. However, Superintendent and Vice Admiral Jeffrey Fowler -- apparently unaware that the U.S. is engaged in two wars -- states his number one priority is to increase diversity.
Fowler is not alone in pumping up multiculturalism. Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen claims diversity is a “strategic imperative.” Following the Ft. Hood massacre, Army Chief of Staff General George Casey was seemingly more concerned about preserving religious diversity in the Army’s ranks than in weeding out soldiers who kill other soldiers.
Naval Academy officials promote the fact that 35% of this year’s freshman class is comprised of favored minority groups: Hispanic, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American. Twenty percent are female. Admissions officials privately acknowledge they are directed to dramatically increase these percentages each year. This should be easy to achieve since about one-half of the admissions department is devoted exclusively to minority recruiting.
This overemphasis on minority recruiting is both misguided and completely unnecessary considering the USNA admissions process. All 100 Senators and each member of the U.S. House representing 435 diverse Congressional districts nominate youngsters. It may be the single-most diversity-focused college acceptance program in the nation.
Still, it does not appear to be enough for USNA officials. Only about one-half of each incoming freshman class is admitted through the Congressional nominating process, giving the school unfettered discretion in picking the other half.
Naval Academy Professor Bruce Fleming, who served on the admissions board, has reported it has an unofficial two-track admissions process in which nonwhite candidates are graded against easier admissions requirements than white candidates. Fleming claims USNA admits some minority students who are incapable of performing college-level work.
Gender-based political correctness has fostered a poisonous atmosphere, according to numerous midshipmen. The previous Superintendent, Vice Admiral Rodney Rempt, implemented a policy unprecedented anywhere else in the entire military.
Female midshipmen who allege they were victims of sexual misconduct would be given blanket immunity for all rules violations in return for identifying alleged perpetrators. The consequence is that females caught violating regulations would immediately allege they were sex victims sometime previously. It became a Get Out of Jail Free card that was abused repeatedly. According to multiple sources, the blanket immunity program is still in effect.
Scores of females who abide by the rules are understandably angered by this discriminatory policy. The unintended consequence is that many male midshipmen will not associate with any females in order to avoid one-day becoming the target of a baseless allegation. This is a classic example of the breakdown of unit cohesion.
Recently, USNA launched a sexual assault response team staffed almost exclusively with female officers. According to a source, the presumption of the team is that males are always the guilty perpetrators and females are always the innocent victims.
Earlier this year, thousands of pages of Navy documents detailing sexual and other misconduct cases were reviewed by The (Annapolis) Capital. The school practiced a double-standard when punishing men and women guilty of identical offenses. Males were frequently dismissed from the academy and sometimes required to reimburse the Navy upwards of $100,000 in school costs while females generally received only light punishment. In one five-year period, every male midshipman accused of sexual assault but acquitted in a military court martial was still kicked out of the academy, a form of double-jeopardy.
Political correctness has led to officially-sanctioned discrimination against non-minorities. Consider the case of the USNA color guard, the six midshipmen who carry the U.S., Navy, Marine Corps and Naval Academy flags during ceremonial events and home football games.
This year, the color guard was invited to perform at game 2 of the World Series in front of a national television audience. However, two of the six midshipmen who had been longtime members of the color guard were fired the day before the game and replaced with two newcomers. The offense, they were told, was being white males. The new members were a female and a first-generation Pakistani-American. One can only wonder if a similar fate will befall the Navy football team before it plays in a nationally-televised New Year’s Eve bowl game.
The Naval Academy makes no effort to hide its bias toward promoting only female and minority faces. The school’s 60-second “Fulfill Your Destiny” recruiting video, which has played prominently on television the past two years, has not one discernible white face in it except in the distant background. The commercial features two Hispanics, two blacks and an Asian. The video is not representative of the actual student body.
The question arises as to what the Naval Academy will do when President Barack Obama follows through on his promise to end the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” prohibition against homosexuals openly serving in the military. Will USNA pursue minimum quotas of male homosexuals, lesbians and transgender students?

Jack Kemp (not the late politician)
This is from TeamSarah.org . Someone is trying to get Bill Ayers investigated by the FBI at the U. of Illinois for sedition.
There is even a petition at
http://www.petitiononline.com/uibotiba/petition.html
Here's the Team Sarah posting:
Hi, all.
Whether or not you signed this petition, please send this around to your family and friends, post it on all the websites you frequent and tell everyone you encounter about this outrage. Please sign the petition once, and encourage others to do the same. Thanks. Tc/Gbu. S.

Keeping you posted. I just sent this to the FBI, local media and the U of I. Keeping the pressure on them to do something. Notice the outright lie I received from the U of I, the reason I asked many of you to forward me your email. The total number was cut in half. The online petition is now at 353. Remember I am not accident prone or suicidal, you heard it here, Mark.
Feel free to pass this on and ask people, everyone in your family as well, to sign the petition to investigate Bill Ayers for academic misconduct and sedition. At this point it is stagnating, we need to get it going, HELP.......spread the word. http://www.petitiononline.com/uibotiba/petition.html

Subject: FBI-investigate Bill Ayers for sedition
Date: Wed, 25 Nov 2009 10:55:39 -0600
Hello,
As you may know I have been working fervently to have Bill Ayers investigated for academic misconduct and sedition. My plan of action began by addressing President White of the University of Illinois early this year, he dismissed me in the name of free speech. But, I persisted and he reluctantly suggested I take it to the board of trustees. They ignored me entirely. At this point they have not had any type of official response except to run from me. Yesterday I emailed Brenda Russell, the "Resident Integrity Officer at UIUC" to instigate an investigation for academic misconduct. We will see if she stonewalls me as well.
You will find the justification for an investigation attached to this email. The bounds of free speech have been breached by leaps and bounds.
This video of my speech to the board of trustees and the Governor lays out the seriousness of the allegations, yet they do nothing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg2dhsm18Yw
I decided to organize an email petition to the board, urging the same investigations. Attached you will find the response from the university that they received twenty five emails since March. This is an outright lie. I have approximately fifty confirmed emails since late July. You see, back in July I asked how many others emailed and the secretary said "zero". I then decided to track them by having people forward me their emails, for confirmation (The actual numbers are inconsequential, the lie is a tremendous breach in trust. Hundreds more can be found on an online petition I recently started).
This is an outright cover up. The university is protecting BIll Ayers. A man guilty of sedition, the mentor to Obama, the man and the movement who have infiltrated our government and are in the process of destroying America's sovereignty. This is a case for the FBI. The evidence is overwhelming in that Bill Ayers has used his highly influential position to undermine government through education. The very definition of sedition. Just as Obama's actions are the very definition of treason as he is out to destroy America and usher in a new one world government. This is not politics as usual! The Chicago Machine put Ayers into his job and Obama into his position, which brought his socialist cohorts from Chicago into power. This line of reasoning is backed up by the facts....Chicago is the hotbed of radical Socialist thought and action. Both in politics and in education, two of the main players in this coup. Need I remind you that Socialism is the antithesis to Capitalism, our foundation. In other words, "our enemy".
The recent climate change hacker brought to light (confirmed what many know) that those in academia are of this same Socialist mind set, working towards a one world government. That is the goal of climate cap and trade. The coming Copenhagen meeting is convening to establish a ruling body (world government) for the world Socialist government to enforce wide sweeping rules and regulations guaranteed to destroy the Republic of America's financial base and freedoms. The very goal that Bill Ayers has been working since he quit bombing federal buildings and killing police officers. All this is common knowledge yet no one is investigating the obvious, how come?
At this point I would like a meeting with someone in the FBI (call first, don't show up at my door). I have been sending these emails for many, many months and have no idea if anyone is paying a bit of attention, or suppressing them. The Republic of America is falling before our very eyes, attacked from within. Ayers is the avenue to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Obama's intent is the same. Is it not the job of the FBI to investigate sedition, or is this government entity corrupted as well? How far is the reach of the Chicago Machine, a major player in this Socialist coup? Governor Quinn has ignored this call for an investigation of sedition, expected given his roots. The Governor also appoints those on the board of trustees, who at this point are guilty of a cover up.
As a citizen of this state I expect an official response from the FBI in a timely manner. If you are not aware of who I am perhaps you can check your "right wing extremist list", look under "Dewey Man". This and more would be funny if it were not true, right? Are there any true red white and blue Americans in the FBI today, call me and arrange a meeting, don't come a knocking. It is hard to tell who is to be trusted, given the recent suicides of Chris Kelly and Michael Scott. For the record, I am not accident prone nor suicidal, but as serious as a heart attack. I want a prompt response from someone in authority, justified given the grave nature of my concerns and facts that back them up.
Bill Ayers is guilty of academic misconduct and sedition.
The University of Illinois board of trustees is involved in a cover up to protect Bill Ayers and this Socialist movement that is presently dismantling America.

Does anyone remember Wei Chyung-Wang? He was the professor at State University of New York, Albany who, along with people from the East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU) was caught faking data sets to show global warming in China http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/11677. Wang was in good company; James Hansen's Goddard Institute (GISS) has been subject to several "iffy" incidents, including publishing September data in October in 2008 then proclaiming the warmest October ever, and quietly altering datasets that showed 1998 was NOT the warmest year on record in the United States. We had the National Snow and Ice Data Center "losing" a chunk of ice the size of California, as another example. GISS was able to claim stupidity in these instances as was the NSIDC, and Wang was marginalized as an isolated incident.
But then came the grand CRU scandal, in which e-mails hacked from the university computers show a willful, intentional attempt to distort raw data and marginalize the work of scientists that do not agree with Global Warming.
This did not come out of thin air; for years CRU numbers did not make sense, and the fearsome statistician Steve McIntyre sought the raw data used to produce those numbers. McIntyre is a formidable man; he thrice demolished Michael Mann's "hockey stick" hat trick graph (it turns out that Mann, of Realclimate fame, was deeply involved in this scandal, too) and was also the party responsible for catching the problem with Hansen's GISS data about 1998. There was every reason to fear his involvement at CRU, and he was denied access to the raw data. He struggled with repeated requests, and was rebuffed. He filed a Freedom of Information request (East Anglia is taxpayer funded) and was told he had no standing, not being an academic. Finally, Roger Pielke Jr. from Colorado stepped in, making the request for McIntyre. They first tried to deny HIM, then told him that they no longer had the data! The information Pielke received was a jumble of mixed up numbers, completely impossible to unravel.
Something dirty was happening at East Anglia, and eventually someone hacked their server.
Now it is known that there was a purposeful effort to distort temperature records, and the scientists at CRU (one of only four major processors of raw data) were actively trying to find ways to silence critics and deny publication of papers that challenged their politically-motivated work.
But wait! There's more!
The New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) has been caught faking data ala CRU.
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/11/25/uh-oh-raw-data-in-new-zealand-tells-a-different-story-than-the-official-one/
According to the piece reposted by Anthony Watts from TBR.cc:
"The scandal breaks as fears grow worldwide that corruption of climate science is not confined to just Britain’s CRU climate research centre.
In New Zealand’s case, the figures published on NIWA’s [the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric research] website suggest a strong warming trend in New Zealand over the past century:
But analysis of the raw climate data from the same temperature stations has just turned up a very different result:
Gone is the relentless rising temperature trend, and instead there appears to have been a much smaller growth in warming, consistent with the warming up of the planet after the end of the Little Ice Age in 1850.
The revelations are published today in a news alert from The Climate Science Coalition of NZ:
Straight away you can see there’s no slope—either up or down. The temperatures are remarkably constant way back to the 1850s. Of course, the temperature still varies from year to year, but the trend stays level—statistically insignificant at 0.06°C per century since 1850.
Putting these two graphs side by side, you can see huge differences. What is going on?
Why does NIWA’s graph show strong warming, but graphing their own raw data looks completely different? Their graph shows warming, but the actual temperature readings show none whatsoever!
Have the readings in the official NIWA graph been adjusted?
It is relatively easy to find out. We compared raw data for each station (from NIWA’s web site) with the adjusted official data, which we obtained from one of Dr Salinger’s colleagues.
Requests for this information from Dr Salinger himself over the years, by different scientists, have long gone unanswered, but now we might discover the truth.
Proof of man-made warming
What did we find? First, the station histories are unremarkable. There are no reasons for any large corrections. But we were astonished to find that strong adjustments have indeed been made.
About half the adjustments actually created a warming trend where none existed; the other half greatly exaggerated existing warming. All the adjustments increased or even created a warming trend, with only one (Dunedin) going the other way and slightly reducing the original trend.
The shocking truth is that the oldest readings have been cranked way down and later readings artificially lifted to give a false impression of warming, as documented below. There is nothing in the station histories to warrant these adjustments and to date Dr Salinger and NIWA have not revealed why they did this."
End excerpt.
It was once said that the number two makes no sense; either a thing is absolutely unique or there are many. The problem at CRU could be explained away as an aberration, a few bad apples spoiling a barrell. How can this be explained? A SECOND bad batch of apples? We seem to be swimming in cider vinegar in the field of climatology, at least. If two independent organizations with such influence are both fudging the data, what does that tell us? Hansen has always been suspect, as far as I am concerned. Is GISS data "corrected"?
Global Warming is increasingly appearing to be a manufactured crisis, a conspiracy of sorts, one with worldwide scope. Money is a big part of it; climatology was a sleepy backwater until the Global Warming panic attack brought huge amounts of government money. Admitting that the warming in the late 20th Tcentury is simply normal variability will kill the goose that laid the golden egg, and so there is enormous pressure on scientists to play ball. Many of the funding governments, too, understand that they can increase their power over their citizens enormously by advancing this scam, and use the power of the purse to squeeze scientists and, more importantly, science administrators. Finally, it is just a matter of good old leftism; the environmental movement has wormed it's way into climatology, and socialists in general knew a good thing when they saw it - how better to advance government control of everything if everything we do threatens our neighbors and the survival of our species? There is little justification for seizing a gas guzzling car, or making people use 3 watt lightbulbs, if no one is hurt by these things, but if it can be "proven" that one's neighbor is being harmed, government can justify stepping in. The welfare of the people has always been the road to tyranny, and Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and other such monsters who murdered and pillaged and sought not just their subject's obedience but their minds and souls all justified the building of their gulags and concentration camps by claiming the welfare of the people was at stake. Climate Change is the ultimate, a Schicklgruber's wet dream.
At long last, we can see the plot for what it is. Yet our good friend Barack Hussein Obama still plans to go to Copenhagen and offer a carbon reduction plan, and Cap and Trade may yet hit the Senate floor.
They hope the media does not report this, and there will be every effort taken to see that it remains on the blogs, the "back alleys" of information dissemination, as it were.
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. We now know the statistics are damned lies, and the liars have been shown for who and what they are. Now who is going to tell the people?

The Papsmear-Dispatch, in a November 23 editorial "Hacked climate e-mails offer flash, but no smoking gun", courageously signed by the editorial board (and wisely anonymous, I might add) made some seriously questionable scientific claims, and is illustrative of either the ignorance of the writers and editors at the Post-Dispatch or proof of the disingenuity of said staff, a disingenuity that runs rampant among Global Warming Alarmists.
http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/the-platform/published-editorials/2009/11/hacked-climate-e-mails-offer-flash-but-no-smoking-gun/
They claim "Atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, now at their highest levels in 800,000 years."
But they fail to mention that this is to be expected in the late Holocene; CO2 levels have been rising for the last 5000 years, a period in which we have been moving deeper into an interglacial. CO2 levels rise during warm periods. In point of fact, they have been far higher during far colder periods. During the Ordovician there was an ice age despite CO2 levels being 4000 ppm higher than today. Temperatures also dipped during the Jurassic/Cretaceous cusp while CO2 levels remained at about 2000 ppm (well above current levels). Also, a study done at the University of Bristol suggests that the percentage of man made airborne co2 is not rising, and has not risen since the 1850's.
They claim
"Global average temperatures, which show that the 20th century was the warmest on record, and the years since 2000 were even warmer."
This is a ridiculous assertion; during the early Carboniferous period average global temperatures were 72* F - about 15* higher than today. (It should be pointed out that atmospheric CO2 levels were slightly higher than today.) There were comparable temperatures during the Cambrian, Ordovician, Devonian, Carboniferous Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, and Tertiary periods. Earth is in an historically fairly low period both for temperature and carbon dioxide.
The Medieval Warming Period was warmer than today. anthropological and ecological evidence make this clear. That was the purpose of Michael Mann's "hockey stick"graph - to erase this inconvenient truth. It has thrice been destroyed. The latest incarnation used tree ring data, which was shown to have been cherry picked. Trees that were inconvenient were removed from the very small dataset.
By the way, the information used by the editorial board to write this piece is based largely on CRU suspect data.
It should also be pointed out that the temperature record is suspect. James Hansen`s Goddard Institute has had trouble - either purposefully or otherwise - with their satellites, and has made numerous temperature errors, including calling 1998 the warmest year in U.S. history and in reusing September data for October`s in 2008. Many surface temperature stations in the U.S. are substandard, and meteorologist Anthony Watts has done a survey showing astounding temperature bias, such as stations situated on blacktops, next to air conditioner compressors, etc. Go to www.surfacstations.org to see what is passing for accurate readings. Also, there is the infamous Siberian warming starting in the 1990`s; why wouldn`t Siberia show warming, when the old Soviet system allotted heating oil and gas on a as-needed basis, and community managers had to answer to Moscow? They would be mad to report accurate temperature readings at their own expense.
Uh, there has been no temperature increase since 1995 if the El Nino of '98 is subtracted, according to climatologist Richard Lindzen.
Another claim;
"Melting Arctic sea ice, which since 1980 has declined from about 7 million square kilometers to slightly more than 5 million."
Why did they choose the timeline of 1980 to the present? This is clearly an attempt to create an impression of what they want us to believe by arbitrarily choosing a timeline. A larger - or smaller - timeline would give very different results.
The Arctic ice pack did indeed shrink in 2007, largely as a result of fluctuations in global weather patterns. It has done so before. When Henry Larsen made the trip through the Northwest Passage in 1944 it was largely clear of ice. Naturally, 2008 saw weak recovery, as this was new ice. It should be pointed out that the National Snow and Ice Data Center “lost” 193,000 miles of sea ice as a result of a satellite glitch. oh, and the freeze and thaw dates are important to understanding whether this ice breakup is caused by global warming or the result of oscillating weather and ocean patterns; thaw dates should come earlier as the planet warms and freeze dates come later. They aren`t.
Greenland gained ice in 1992 and 2002.
It is interesting that the author of this article mentions the Arctic and not the Antarctic; Antarctic sea ice is increasing at record rates. Sea ice extend was 1 MILLION square miles above normal in May 2009! True, the Wilkins ice shelf collapsed, but it does so every so often, and a chain of volcanoes let loose under water near the Antarctic peninsula, so that is no surprise. Global warming seems to be only affecting the Arctic.
You argue;
"Rising sea levels, which since 1993 have grown at twice the historical average.
None of that has been seriously challenged. The purloined e-mails focus on more prosaic matters."
Tide gauges show little or no acceleration in the rate of sea level rise in the 20th century. This timeline is skewed because it uses 1998, as well as the 2003 and 2005 Arctic melts (the result of weather patterns) as part of a smaller dataset.
The National Snow and Ice Data Center says that any observed increase in rising sea level rates is attributable to better satellite data. Oh, and the rise has leveled off since 2005, something that just shouldn't happen if this is driven by climate change - and something that GW alarmists refuse to acknowledge.
It should be pointed out that, if one assumes a 120 meter sea level rise since the end of the last glacial period 15000 years ago, we are looking at an 80 millimeter rise every decade. If we are currently at 32 millimeters, we are 40 percent below historical averages.
There has been no change in thaw dates, too; the spring thaw is not coming earlier and the autumn freeze later. That would be logically required if sea level rise were tied to climate change.
The point is, the warming that the models predict for the tropical troposphere have not materialized. It should be 4-5* C per century in the mid Troposphere; it just isn`t there in the data. The sea, too is cooling according to the Argo probes that are taking direct measurements.
Nobody has ever denied a warming trend during the 20th century, but carbon driven climate change has absolutely no proof.
They have spun a fine web, but ultimately it proves nothing.
Meanwhile, scientists have been actively suppressing data and enemies, as is illustrated by these leaked e-mails. We've seen this type of behavior before; Heidi Cullen from The Weather Channel wanted meteorologists to lose their accreditation for "denial", we've heard demands for Nuremburg type trials for "deniers", we've had Hanson's Goddard Institute reporting the wrong month for temperature data. We've had the hat trick hockey sticks. We had Benny Peiser’s submission to Nature being held then rejected, while Nancy Oreskes' study claiming there were no scientific research papers contradicting anthropogenic Global Warming being published.
We had Wei-Chyung Wang, professor at the State University of New York in Albany who, along with the good folks at CRU, faked data to advance global warming evidence in China.
(See my article in Canada Free Press http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/11677 )
Now the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) has been caught faking data ala CRU.
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/11/25/uh-oh-raw-data-in-new-zealand-tells-a-different-story-than-the-official-one/
There has clearly been efforts made to subvert data and silence the critics of this junk science, and now there is smoking gun proof.
This matter of East Anglia’s CRU is critical; for years, Steve McIntyre tried to get CRU to release their raw data sets, and they refused with ever more creative excuses. McIntyre is someone to be feared if you are up to no good with numbers, and they finally denied him access (bear in mind that CRU is one of only four collectors of worldwide temperature data) because he was not an academic. Roger Pielke Jr. entered the fray. Dr. Pielke is Professor in the Environmental Studies Program at Colorado, and thus IS an academic. He was told that CRU had DESTROYED the data, and it was no longer available.
http://www.timothybirdnow.com/?p=2315
Then somebody hacked the CRU mainframe, and the truth has come flooding out.
According to Lord Moncton:
"This is what they did — these climate “scientists” on whose unsupported word the world’s classe politique proposes to set up an unelected global government this December in Copenhagen, with vast and unprecedented powers to control all formerly free markets, to tax wealthy nations and all of their financial transactions, to regulate the economic and environmental affairs of all nations, and to confiscate and extinguish all patent and intellectual property rights.
The tiny, close-knit clique of climate scientists who invented and now drive the “global warming” fraud — for fraud is what we now know it to be [1] — tampered with temperature data so assiduously that, on the recent admission of one of them, land temperatures since 1980 have risen twice as fast as ocean temperatures. One of the thousands of emails recently circulated by a whistleblower at the University of East Anglia, where one of the world’s four global-temperature datasets is compiled, reveals that data were altered so as to prevent a recent decline in temperature from showing in the record. In fact, there has been no statistically significant “global warming” for 15 years — and there has been rapid and significant cooling for nine years.
Worse, these arrogant fraudsters — for fraudsters are what we now know them to be — have refused, for years and years and years, to reveal their data and their computer program listings. Now we know why: As a revealing 15,000-line document from the computer division at the Climate Research Unit shows, the programs and data are a hopeless, tangled mess. In effect, the global temperature trends have simply been made up. Unfortunately, the British researchers have been acting closely in league with their U.S. counterparts who compile the other terrestrial temperature dataset — the GISS/NCDC dataset. That dataset too contains numerous biases intended artificially to inflate the natural warming of the 20th century.
Finally, these huckstering snake-oil salesmen and “global warming” profiteers — for that is what they are — have written to each other encouraging the destruction of data that had been lawfully requested under the Freedom of Information Act in the UK by scientists who wanted to check whether their global temperature record had been properly compiled. And that procurement of data destruction, as they are about to find out to their cost, is a criminal offense. They are not merely bad scientists — they are crooks. And crooks who have perpetrated their crimes at the expense of British and U.S. taxpayers."
End excerpt

Global warming comes crashing down when we freely hear both sides.
