ACA Challenge Dismissed for Standing

Warner Todd Huston

By the way, on that Obamacare ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court, yesterday, don't fall for the false characterizatio n that SCOTUS "decided to keep Obamacare" or somehow ruled in favor of Obamacare. What they actually did was say that the states that brought the case did not have the standing to show they were harmed. So, the SCOTUS essentially just threw the case out. They didn't rule on the merits of Obamacare.

Tim adds:

Just like the Texas lawsuit over the election; they simply choose not to hear it and find an excuse to do so.

Not sure how anyone could claim any American does not have standing where Obamacare is concerned; it intimately effects everyone in this country.

A pox upon those robed vermin!

CovIndia

James Doogue

- India Isn't The Covid Catastrophe Claimed
- Globally The Adjusted Covid Infection Fatality Rate For Under 70's Is Similar To Influenza.

Remember how the mainstream media had every correspondent reporting the Covid-19 catastrophe in India? It didn't matter to them that if you did the numbers based on India's massive 1.4 billion population, the rate of infection at 400,000 per day, wasn't even half the rate of many developed countries at their peak infection periods.

India was never the huge problem it was made out to be. Today, new Covid-19 cases are running at a daily rate of just 0.0018% of their population. That's the exact rate the global average is running at.

There are 106 countries in the world which have a higher Covid-19 death rate per million of population compared to India.

Don't expect to be told this by the mainstream media. Covid-19 has been used as a convenient tool throughout Western democratic countries by left leaning governments, to implement policies and spending they couldn't have got passed in their legislatures without the scare of Covid-19.

Cronyism has boomed with the Covid-19 cash splashes around the world. So many businesses, unions, public servants and welfare recipients benefited, they have been happy to support the reckless spending.

These players have also been happy to shut down any dissent, as we have seen by the censorship by Big Tech in social media. The left leaning mainstream media have also been happy to help maintain the Covid-19 scare. It is good for ratings, and largely served their ideological bent.

Since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic the infection fatality rate globally has been just 2%. Most of those who died were elderly and had an average of three or more comorbidities. But the death rate is falling rapidly with significant advances in treatment.

The World Health Organisation bulletin published a paper, 'Infection fatality rate of COVID-19 inferred from seroprevalence data'. This doesn't look at how many people tested positive to Covid-19, to calculate the infection fatality rate. Instead they look for evidence of infection in blood samples taken, and calculate the fatality rate using that data.

The paper looked at 61 studies across 51 locations. Across these locations the infection fatality rate of Covid-19 is from 0.00% to 1.54%. The median COVID-19 infection fatality rate is estimated to be just 0.23%. https:// www.ncbi.nlm.nih .gov/pmc/ articles/ PMC7947934/

'Mortality is age-stratified from covid-19. The corrected median estimates of infection fatality rate for people aged lower than 70 years is currently just 0.05%, which, for the population less vulnerable to deaths, is similar to influenza.' [Which is stated in this paper at 0.039%]. https:// www.bmj.com/ content/371/ bmj.m3883/rr

We have a global panic over a disease which is about as harmful as seasonal influenza for the majority of the population. All we ever had to do after initially closing international borders, was to enable the elderly and medically vulnerable, to self isolate or take other self protection measures until a vaccine was available.

The Left Becomes "the Man"

Warner Todd Huston

Leftist evolution:

From the 1950s to the 80s: The CIA and the FBI were "the man" and therefore leftists said they were enemies of the people.

From the 1980s to the 2000s: Left-wingers fully took over the levers of government and replaced the heads of all agencies with hardcore leftists.

By 2020, leftists were suddenly calling the CIA and the FBI "legal authorities" and attacking anyone who would doubt them.

Why Garland is AG

Selwyn Duke

By the way, Attorney General Merrick Garland has lately been parroting the PC message that "white supremacy" is actually the greatest threat America faces; he has also been participating in the demonization of garden-variety conservative groups and the whitewashing of BLM and Antifa.

I think it's clear now why this lying fool, who the Democrats tried to paint as a moderate, was denied a SCOTUS position. He's not fit to be dog catcher in a land where every canine has rabies.

A Group Of Parents Sent Their Kids' Face Masks to A Lab for Analysis. Here's What They Found

Dana Mathewson

Parents who have been fighting the directives that their children must wear face masks in school, which means just about full-time use, probably weren't even thinking about actual health issues posed by the masks. But one group of parents decided to investigate further.

We've been told for well over a year that widespread forced public masking should be implemented because, even if only moderately to slightly to negligibly effective at curbing the spread of COVID-19, there are ZERO drawbacks.

"What's the harm?" they ask.

"It's only a minor inconvenience," they bleat.

"If it saves ONE LIFE, it's worth it!" they implore.

Meanwhile, we on Team Reality have not only continued to point to real-world data that shows masking to be entirely ineffective, we've also maintained that forced public masking, especially long-term, has negative societal and even health ramifications that the powers-that-be are all-too-happy to ignore in subservience to their newfound face mask god.

It only stands to reason that one of those health ramifications would be the fact that millions of people, particularly children, have been forced to wear and carry around pieces of cloth they've continually breathed through for hours on end. What lurking pathogens might be found on these disgusting contraptions being incessantly handled, stuck in pockets, and mindlessly tossed on books, tables, and desks? Well, one group of Florida parents sent a batch of masks worn by their children to a lab to find out. And yeah, you'll probably need to make sure you aren't eating dinner anytime soon before you digest THESE results.

Gainesville, FL (June 16, 2021) – A group of parents in Gainesville, FL, concerned about potential harms from masks, submitted six face masks to a lab for analysis. The resulting report found that five masks were contaminated with bacteria, parasites, and fungi, including three with dangerous pathogenic and pneumonia-causing bacteria. No viruses were detected on the masks, although the test is capable of detecting viruses.

The analysis detected the following 11 alarmingly dangerous pathogens on the masks:

• Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumonia)

• Mycobacterium tuberculosis (tuberculosis)

• Neisseria meningitidis (meningitis, sepsis)

• Acanthamoeba polyphaga (keratitis and granulomatous amebic encephalitis)

• Acinetobacter baumanni (pneumonia, blood stream infections, meningitis, UTIs— resistant to antibiotics)

• Escherichia coli (food poisoning)

• Borrelia burgdorferi (causes Lyme disease)

• Corynebacterium diphtheriae (diphtheria)

• Legionella pneumophila (Legionnaires' disease)

• Staphylococcus pyogenes serotype M3 (severe infections—high morbidity rates)

• Staphylococcus aureus (meningitis, sepsis)

Half of the masks were contaminated with one or more strains of pneumonia-causing bacteria. One-third were contaminated with one or more strains of meningitis-causing bacteria. One-third were contaminated with dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacterial pathogens. In addition, less dangerous pathogens were identified, including pathogens that can cause fever, ulcers, acne, yeast infections, strep throat, periodontal disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and more.

The face masks studied were new or freshly-laundered before wearing and had been worn for 5 to 8 hours, most during in-person schooling by children aged 6 through 11. One was worn by an adult. A t-shirt worn by one of the children at school and unworn masks were tested as controls. No pathogens were found on the controls. Proteins found on the t-shirt, for example, are not pathogenic to humans and are commonly found in hair, skin, and soil.

A parent who participated in the study, Ms. Amanda Donoho, commented that this small sample points to a need for more research: "We need to know what we are putting on the faces of our children each day. Masks provide a warm, moist environment for bacteria to grow.”

I don't remember Dr. Fauci telling us this might happen. Nope, I don't. Not even once.

Rotten Insurrection

This from David Murphy

The January 6th rally wasn't the best idea, in my opinion. I believe the situation was fully taken advantage of by the ne'er do wells, fifth columnists.

I forget which friend posted about it, but one of her friends and her husband were there in the street in front of the White House. The police/authorities began barricading them in and pressing them towards the White House.
Her husband was struck by a rubber bullet. They realized what was going on and were able to exfiltrate before they were completely closed in.
Something is very very rotten about the entire situation. And holding the folks prisoner with no charges???

The Road to Serfdom in Latin America

This from Andy Garcia

These political trends suggest that many of our American neighbors are heading down the dangerous road to serfdom. Leftist governments will likely lead to weak economies, political suppression, and substandard living conditions, and many Latin Americans will likely seek refuge in the United States, as many Cubans and Nicaraguans did during the Cold War and Venezuelans do today. The Biden administration can and should prepare for greater instability in our hemisphere in the years to come. But current attitudes in the U.S. towards support for socialism, growing corruption, and immigration trends point towards a similar political future here in El Norte.

Tim adds:

This trend started with the "Fortress America" policy of the old Soviet Union, and the subversive movements the Soviets fostered are now starting to win down there.

Things like Liberation Theology subverted the Catholics in Latin America (it was created by Marxists) and the more radical leftist movements all had their genesis in the Cold War.

Now they are moving ahead full steam and we are sadly on the brink with homegrown socialism ourselves. (Well, it too has it's roots in Soviet subversion. See my brother's books The Subversive Screen and or The St. Louis Five: Communism, Anti-Communism, and the Federal Courts in Missouri.

What did the Feds Know and When did They Know It?

Timothy Birdnow

Here is a good article:

Unindicted Co-Conspirators in 1/6 Cases Raise Disturbing Questions of Federal Foreknowledge

Good question; what did the Feds know and when did they know it? And if they didn't know it why not? These groups were organizing online, in plain sight.

From the article:

If it turns out that the federal government (FBI, Army Counterintelligence, or a similar agency) had undercover agents or confidential informants embedded in any of the groups involved in 1/6, the "federal intelligence agencies failing to warn of a potential for violence” looks less like an innocent mistake and more like something sinister.

Indeed, if the federal government knew of a potential for violence in or around the Capitol on 1/6 and failed to call for heightened security, the agencies responsible may in fact be legally liable for the damages incurred during that day.

It is unsettling to entertain the possibility that the federal government knew of a potential for violence on 1/6 and did nothing to stop it. It presents the question: why would agencies, or certain elements within, sit back and let something like this happen on purpose?

A still more disturbing possibility arises from a careful study of the unindicted co-conspirators listed throughout the various charging documents of individuals facing the most serious charges related to 1/6.

Social Justice High

Selwyn Duke

https://www.selwynduke.com/2021/06/speaking-arabic-muslim-school-board-member-urges-jihad-at-american-high-school-graduation.html

Maybe they should rename it Social Justice High School. After all, Justice High School (JHS) in Falls Church, Virginia — known until 2018 as J.E.B. Stuart High School, in honor of a Confederate general — is now a wokester’s dream. While the institution is 50.3 percent Hispanic, 23.4 percent white, 13.6 percent Asian-descent, and 10.1 percent black, its homepage’s "big image shows 11 students, none of them White, holding myriad flags, none of them American,” writes commentator Andrea Widburg.

Yes, because "diversity” obviously means no white people, and multiculturalism means every culture but the West’s.

"One young woman in a hijab holds a Somalia Mogadishu flag,” Widburg continues. "Another holds the flag of Libya. And yet another has the flag of Eritrea in his hands. The school’s mascot is a wolf, and the students are wearing sweatshirts that play on that name: ‘Woke Pack,’ they say.”

Well, it doesn’t get more in-your-face than that, does it? Or maybe it does. Try this on for size....

Arguing with Idiots: Limey Edition

Timothy Birdnow

Having a Facebook fight with a limey. Eric Chapman started this off by posting this:

I think people are actually mistaken and should be directing hate to old colonialism not USA.

So called evil "White men with guns" defeated the Monarchy, Patriarchy, gave voting rights to non-land owners, freed the slaves, gave women voting rights, and are most progressive race doing more for global human rights in 200 years with USA than humans did in 200,000

Inherently unracist they mean... obviously our democracy has more non-white-supre micist-wealthy- slave-owners than not... or else how did our democracy do this?

They must mean all the shit hole other places that we tried to force to do that after we got the bomb maybe? Definitely more non-imperialist s than white oppressors... or else how did both parties vote in the anti war candidate??

Don't make sense to me... I guess they're mistaken

A Brit named Andy Dawson didn't like that:

However,it's worth pointing out those "tyrannical royalist" Brits abolished slavery across the Empire 32 years before you did - in was never permitted in the UK itself.

I retort:

That's because the Brits could force Irish peasants into defacto slave labor and it was a lot easier for them. They didn't need slaves when they had a bunch of Irish and Welsh to make do all the dirty work.Indians too; Guyana was settled primarily by East Indians who served the same function that slaves did in other Carribean areas. It was not exactly a choice by many of these colonissts.

Dawson doesn't like that:

Timothy Birdnow if you mean indentured labour that applied just as much to the English - so lose the chip on your shoulder.

We're not the ones who still had segregation in the 60s.

My reply:

I do not just mean indentured service - I mean impressed service. "To Hell or Barbados" was a common saying among Irish who would often wind up working in the sugar fields. The fact is Britain had a lot of cheap labor it could exploit - the U.S. always had a labor shortage, which got much worse after the invention of the cotton gin.

BtW Britain was happy to buy American slave-produced cotton.

And it was the English who foisted slavery on the U.S. Thomas Jefferson enumerated that as one of the charges in the original rough draft of the Declaration of Independence (it was removed to avoid tearing apart the coalition of colonies.)

And in fact the Constitution mandated that the slave trade be ended by 1808. Britain had no such plan in place, but moved quickly to end the slave trade in 1807 simply to one-up the U.S.

It was much harder to get rid of slavery in America than in the British Empire, which again, had plenty of cheap labor easily exploited.

And I would remind you America was a collection of British colonies for over a hundred and fifty years and slavery was legal, indeed it was English law that bequethed it to us. So whose fault was that?

I have no chip on my shoulder; I am simply responding to your rather self-satisfied comment.

Oh, and you guys didn't have any minorities until the last few years, so don't give me this bull about segregation; you didn't face the kinds of problems we had here with race relations. And you know nothing about them. I notice you are starting to have race problems now that you have a very small minority class.

Dawson keeps paddling up his creek:

Plastic Does Not Last Forever in the Oceans

Timothy Birdnow

Here is an article that debunks claims about how plastics never degrade and are filling the oceans forever. It's well worth a read.

From the article:

I was reminded of this topic by a newspaper story with the unsurprising title: Unless something changes, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans by 2050. While compelling, does this "fact” make sense? No more than the claim that plastics don’t degrade in seawater or that plastics take millennia to break down. What parent hasn’t given their child a plastic outdoor toy and found it sun-bleached and degraded after a single summer outside? The reality is that plastic decomposes in some conditions and doesn’t in others. I think we all agree that paper decomposes when exposed to sunlight and water and yet they found readable newspapers in landfills that were over 40 years old. That is because landfills are not designed to decompose waste, they are designed to store it indefinitely. You simply can’t use landfill results to judge the biodegradation rate of plastics.

The "fish fact” originated in a report titled "The New Plastics Economy — Rethinking the future of plastics” by the World Economic Forum, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and McKinsey & Company. Now here is a funny thing, the report doesn’t explain how they generate this claim in its formal text. Instead, they do so in an endnote. A warning: any time a report’s primary statistic comes from a calculation in an endnote you should take that fact with an extremely large dose of salt. Why? because someone clearly decided it was not reliable enough to go in the main text where it would be actively checked by peer-reviewers.

So let’s look at the endnote in question (number 22)

Read the whole thing; it's worth your time.

The CRT Heresy

Selwyn Duke

Call it "regression to type.” Since tribalism-born prejudice has ever plagued man, it’s no surprise that, with the emphasis on Christian brotherhood waning in the West, race hatred is back in style. It has returned with a vengeance, too, and with pseudo-intellectual approval in the form of "Critical Race Theory” (CRT). It’s a "pernicious” idea that "could easily lead to and justify all manner of oppression and violence,” writes one commentator — and that is in fact a "heresy” that should be condemned by the church.

The Woke Joke

Timothy Birdnow

We need a new term for those who believe this. Wokeholics? Maybe we should start a ten step program...

From Jim Church:

Wokeism has become our most popular secular religion—at least for a moment dethroning climate change. It speciously reduces all of the past and present into puerile binaries between "whites” and "non-whites.” Those who push this new religion neither know their history nor what is going on, and has gone on, in much of the world. It is a narcissistic, bigoted, neo-Marxist ideology which will, if left unchecked, not only destroy the very culture that gave it the freedom to arise, but will destroy itself and several generations along with it.
