Poofterism and the Pontiff

James Doogue

'Is the Pope a Catholic'? is the best response to this article. 😄 (Unfortunately I didn't come up with that.)

Pope Francis Calls for Civil Unions for Same Sex Couples

A word from Tim:

Francis shows himself to be an heretic here.

The purpose of the Church, and especially the Pope, is to keep people out of Hell. That is their primary mission. The social work - feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, housing the homeless etc. - is only an ancillary mission. Salvation is the first and foremost.

Homosexual behavior is a mortal sin. Paul made that quite clear in 1Corinthians 6:9-10:

"Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

Get that? Homosexuals are sinners and will not enter the Kingdom of God.

See also Leviticus18: 21-22

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

Leviticus 20:13

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

Romans 1:25-27

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-- who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Look, there are people who have same sex attractions. There are also people who lust after children, or wild beasts, or dead bodies. But if they do not act on those impulses they are blameless. This becomes sin when they seek to fulfill these lusts. This isn't just true of sexual perversion; a married man is not supposed to screw around on his wife. It becomes a sin when he actually does so. We are all here to be tested, and we are all tested in different ways. Satan (I know; he's sooo politically incorrect these days) knows our weaknesses and tempts us with them. In the past society was set up to discourage acting on them. Sex outside of marriage was discouraged in general and homosexual sex in particular. Now we think we know better and dismiss the wisdom of the past as folly.

But the Catholic Church held to this "old fashioned" idea of not excusing sin so as not to allow people to drift into Hell. Apparently Francis wants only a fun-loving, hipster God. He wants a God who excuses, and who holds no standards (except in condemning free markets). Righteousness is swallowed up in faux grace. Justice is ignored in favor of forgiveness to the point of damnation.

Francis is a heretic. I don't think we can call him anything else.

Suicide and depression are on the rise thanks to the Wuhan panic.

A Pandemic of Depression: CDC Reveals Huge Numbers of Young People Consider Suicide due to Covid

According to the study, a full quarter of all Americans age 18-24 have considered suicide in the last thirty days, and 16% age 25 to 44 have done likewise.

It's time to end this. We "flattened the curve" and now we are told this will "fight the virus" which it most assuredly will not.

Chinese in Canada?

Timothy Birdnow

An internet friend of mine sent me this. I haven't been able to verify or falsify the claims here. Take what you will from it.

Arm Yourselves and Prepare; China Massing "Tens-of-Thousands" of Troops in Prince Rupert and Vancouver Canada. Invade USA?

From the article:

Under a Treaty signed in late 2019 with Canada, the People's Liberation Army of China has been quietly massing military troops in Canada since the beginning of 2020 and those troops are believed to be readying for an actual military invasion of the United States.

While it has long been rumored that China began massing troops and armor in southern Mexico for a similar invasion goal, word of such troops appearing in Canada only began this year. Those rumors were pretty much laughed off until video emerged this week of Chinese troops on a back road of Salt Spring Island, near Vancouver, British Columbia.

The article goes on to blame the California fires on Chinese directed energy weapons, a bit I find most dubious indeed, although I wouldn't put it past the Chinese to be behind the arson that triggered these fires in many cases. But again, take from it what you will.

NY Post says Facebook hired Chinese nationals as censors

Jack Kemp

The NY Post has a shocking article by Sohrab Ahmari which I urge you all to read in full here.

Below are sample quotes from the piece.

There are at least half a dozen "Chinese nationals who are working on censorship,” a former Facebook insider told me last week. "So at some point, they [Facebook bosses] thought, ‘Hey, we’re going to get them H-1B visas so they can do this work.’ ”

The insider shared an internal directory of the team that does much of this work. It’s called Hate-Speech Engineering (George Orwell, call your office),.. Many have Ph.D.s, and their work is extremely complex...

It all makes for perhaps the most chillingly sophisticated censorship mechanism in human history. ...Instead, "content that is a little too conservative, they will down-rank. You can’t tell it’s censored.”

END OF QUOTE

The article goes on to say that many high tech firms recruit foreign nationals from China and other countries, many of whom bring their political viewpoints on freedom with them to the U.S. Apparently the Chinese censors idea of "The American Dream" for them is an American paycheck with a Chinese Communist "Right Thinking" speech code, a type of Free Speechless in Seattle (where they work for Facebook).

We were here once before

Dana Mathewson

An excellent Robert Spencer article from PJMedia

Tippecanoe and Biden Too

President Trump has repeatedly challenged the establishment media to ask Joe Biden to denounce antifa, and has, of course, found no takers. Meanwhile, the Hunter Biden scandal keeps growing, with credible evidence that Hunter was selling (at exorbitant prices) access to his father while Joe was vice president, but for the most part the Leftist media remains resolutely mum about it. Reporters are too busy asking Joe what kind of milkshake he got at one of his infrequent campaign stops, and pretending as if his near-daily "lids” on campaigning were the most normal thing in the world for a man running for the highest office in the land. All this is unprecedented in recent presidential campaigns, but in many ways we have been here before – 180 years ago.

Rating America’s Presidents discusses at some length the strange and fabled election of 1840, an overlooked source of inspiration for the Biden campaign. The opposition party in those days, the Whigs, were determined to get their candidate William Henry Harrison into the White House not on the strength of his public positions, but rather upon the appeal of the persona they fashioned for him – just as Joe today is supposed to be the affable, kindly, back-to-normal alternative to four more years of what the Democrats characterize as the insane reign of the Cheeto Mussolini.

Like Biden, Harrison had the support of the Deep State. In those days that was the Bank of the United States, an unelected and unaccountable oligarchy that wielded enormous power without ever having to answer to the voters (sound familiar?). Nicholas Biddle, the longtime president of the Bank, directed that in order to avoid being pinned down on the issues and thereby alienating some portion of the electorate, Harrison should speak substantively as infrequently as possible: "Let him say nothing…Let no Committee, no Convention, no town meeting ever extract from him a single word about what he thinks now and will do hereafter. Let the use of pen and ink be wholly forbidden as if he were a mad poet in Bedlam.” Biddle could have been advising Biden’s handlers about how to deal with questions about packing the Supreme Court.

Instead of dealing with the issues, Harrison, who as a Major General in 1811 won the Battle of Tippecanoe against a force of Shawnee Indians, was portrayed as the humble war hero, "Old Tippecanoe.” His handlers trumpeted him as an ordinary man with simple tastes, content with a log cabin and a jug of hard cider. To this the Whigs contrasted a deeply unfair caricature of incumbent President Martin Van Buren as an out-of-touch, champagne-drinking, cosseted aristocrat who had spent public funds on lavish furnishings for the White House. The Whigs held rallies, passed out hard cider, staged marches, and generally made the 1840 election into a party celebrating "Tippecanoe and Tyler Too” (John Tyler was Harrison’s running mate).

This was all great fun, but it was also the sum of the Whigs’ appeal to the American people. The Democrats were confounded. One Democrat editorialist vented his frustration: "In what grave and important discussion are the Whig journals engaged?…We speak of the divorce of bank and state; and the Whigs reply with a dissertation on the merits of hard cider. We defend the policy of the Administration; and the Whigs answer ‘log cabin,’ ‘big canoes,’ ‘go it, Tip! Come it, Ty.’ We urge the re-election of Van Buren because of his honesty, sagacity, statesmanship…and the Whigs answer that Harrison is a poor man and lives in a log cabin.”

There's more here: https://pjmedia.com/election/robert-spencer/2020/10/19/tippecanoe-and-biden-too-n1070292  Spencer leaves out the part where Harrison catches pneumonia after delivering his Inaugural Address, dies after a month in office and is superseded by his Vice President, John Tyler. Need I say more? Let us greatly hope that history does not repeat itself this time!

Democrat Operatives Admit Growing Concern that Trump May Win

Dana Mathewson

Wow! Who'd a thunk it? I mean, sure, some of them may believe it, but for them to come right out and say it? Gollee-gee!

From PJMedia:

While most polls say the 2020 presidential election is looking good for Joe Biden, some Democratic operatives are concerned about hidden factors that could produce a Trump victory, reports Politico.

"There are more known unknowns than we’ve ever had at any point,” Tom Bonier, CEO of the Democratic data firm TargetSmart, told Politico. "The instruments we have to gauge this race, the polling, our predictive models … the problem is all those tools are built around quote-unquote normal elections. And this is anything but a normal election.”

During a recent conference call with Democratic Party state chairs, Bonier said that despite the seemingly positive electoral landscape for Biden, even a small variation in turnout projections could impact the outcome.

One big unknown is the impact of voter turnout. While Democrats appear to have the edge in early voting, polls have suggested that Republicans will vote in larger numbers in person on Election Day.

However, according to a report from the Washington Examiner, the GOP "is keeping pace in mail-in and early voting in three key swing states despite polls showing early voting should clearly favor Joe Biden.”

In Michigan as of Wednesday, just over 1 million ballots have been returned, 40% from registered Democrats, with the same from registered Republicans. In Wisconsin, 40% of the 711,855 returned ballots have been from Democrats, while 38% have come from Republicans. The GOP actually leads in Ohio, with 45% of 475,259 early ballot returns coming from Republicans, compared to 43% from registered Democrats. The preliminary data matches up with the requests by party affiliation for mail-in ballots.

The data contradicts national polls showing Biden supporters overwhelmingly plan to vote by mail or early in person. According to a Pew Research poll released Friday, 55% of voters who plan to cast their ballot in person before Election Day support Biden, compared to 40% who support President Trump.

One major red flag for Democrats is Trump’s advantage in new voter registrations. Republicans have been outperforming new voter registrations in key states compared to previous presidential election years. The Biden campaign lost significant ground to the Trump campaign by not doing any door-knocking to register voters because of the pandemic. The sudden decision to reverse course and carry out door-knocking seemed to indicate their growing concern.

This is certainly good news! A number of us have suspected they've secretly believed this because, well, they haven't acted as if they have it in the bag. It's true that they just may have finally learned something from Hillary's loss in 2016 and realized that it wasn't totally because she was just an awful candidate, it was also because she and her people believed they had it won going away.

Read the rest of the article, found here https://pjmedia.com/election/matt-margolis/2020/10/19/democrat-operatives-admit-growing-concern-that-trump-may-win-n1070279 and just maybe you, like me, will want to start Happy Hour early today.

The Origins of American/Chinese Trade

This from Andrei Piriutko:

Ships from Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Salem were the most active in the new China trade. The immediate difficulty which all traders faced was to find commodities to sell in China to offset American purchases in China that were mostly paid for in silver shipped from the Americas to China. Traders from these different American ports settled on different commodities and followed different routes to China to obtain these commodities. In general, all traders engaged in the serial trading of goods, buying and selling in all the ports they visited.

Traders from Philadelphia first sent their ships across the Atlantic Ocean to buy and sell goods in Europe. They then traded around Africa and across the Indian Ocean to China. Around 1810, Philadelphia merchants found a source of opium in Smyrna (Turkey) and they began to ship this commodity to China. However, they continued to ship other goods as well. Ships from New York seem to have engaged in a broad range of trade strategies available and in the mid-19th century, New York became the major port involved in the China trade.

By the 1830’s, trade routes were well established between the United States and China, and the names of ports in the Eastern hemisphere, once exotic and mysterious, were becoming increasingly familiar to Americans as places of importance to the United States’ economy.

Tea was the most important imported commodity Americans obtained from China through the end of the 19th century. Initially, American imports from China largely consisted of cloth (nankeen and silk) as well as tea. Tea became the dominant commodity, expanding from approximately 36% of the total imports from China in 1822 to 65% in 1860.

Textile imports declined during the 1830s. Silk imports declined although the reason is uncertain. As cotton textile manufacturing developed in the 1820s and the quality of domestic cloth rose and the cost decreased, the U.S. stopped importing nankeen and began to export cotton cloth to China. Machine-spun cloth did not have comparable quality to the homespun, hand-woven nankeen which the Chinese continued to prefer for work clothes. It was not until the middle to the end of the 19th century that western-manufac tured cloth provided the serviceability for a comparable price as did Chinese-produce d cloth. At that time western cloth began to be imported into China in increasing quantities. By the last quarter of the 19th century, cotton cloth and cotton yarn represented a significant portion of the total American exports to China.

Americans initially looked to ginseng as the commodity which would finance trade with China. This market quickly turned out to be very volatile. Furs also held promise, but this market also proved to be undependable. Without a commodity which consistently found a market in China, the Americans had to use specie (metal and coins) to finance the trade. Without a source of gold or silver, Americans had to obtain specie elsewhere. They did this by engaging in a triangular trade. Goods were shipped to Europe, between European ports, or to South America and sold for Mexican dollars. The specie was then shipped to China to purchase tea. By the 1830s, a significant amount of the trade was financed by credit extended by London banks through their representatives in China.

Some Americans also turned to opium as a commodity to finance the China trade. India produced the highest quality opium, but the British East India Company held a monopoly on opium production in India until 1831. Turkey produced opium of lesser quality and on a far smaller scale than India. Americans began shipping opium from Smyrna by 1805. Turkish opium only made up a small part of the total opium imported into China. Opium did not become an important commodity in American trade with China until the 1830s when it made up approximately 1/4 of the total that Americans sold in China. Opium imported by Americans never exceeded 10% of the total opium imported into China.

Despite all these attempts to find a commodity other than opium that could balance the cost of goods imported from China, Americans could not find one.

Not a Russian Trick

Warner Todd Huston

Here is why the claims that this Hunter Biden laptop stuff is a "Russian disinformation plot" is a lie. This laptop was deposited at a Delaware repair place in May of 2019 and sat there with no news about it until now? Russians don't play their intel games that long. Also, the VP's lawyers have asked for it back -- that is proof they know it is theirs. Next, the videos ACTUALLY have Hunter on them! Finally, Biden's camp has not denied anything in these reports. Not. One. Thing! That is remarkable.

Tim adds:

And the FBI had the data before the impeachment and sat on it. IF it is a Russkie dirty trick why don't they come out now that it has leaked and show the evidence? Why doesn't the FBI issue a denial of the validity?

And if the Russians were behind this why not release it before the impeachment? Even if the American media refused to touch it the foreign press could have been given this leak. Why risk losing their "asset"?

This isn't even a nice try on their part.

Temporary Cease Fire in Armenian Azerbaijani War

Mark Musser

The war between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Turkey continues unabated in the Nagorno-Karabak h, and even more serious than before the ceasefire more than a week ago, which the Azeris used against Armenia in devious ways (by the way, there is no such thing as an Azeri people - I am hearing they are just Turks - Lenin and Stalin made up a country out of nothing after World War I. Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, was an oil boom town - the city in which Stalin began his mad cultish career in communism that was so sadistically destructive throughout the 20th century). Thousands of dead bodies are scattered all over the battlefields now. The ceasefire was to be held in order to get the bodies. Azerbaijan did nothing to gather up their dead, which are far more than the Armenians, but they have a virtual limitless supply of soldiers they can grab off the streets. A war of attrition in this way, if it continues, will be very difficult for Armenia because it is such a poor, landlocked country. Yet they have mountainous courage in the face of long odds as their history has shown over and over again. They need both the gospel and as much help as they can possibly get right now. Please pray for Armenia, a country in great difficulty now in an area called the South Transcaucasia. The great Caucuses Mountain Range divides Russia from the Middle East. Armenia is on the southern side of the Caucasus Mountains which overlooks the entire Middle East in all directions spanning southward.

Solomon warns and teaches us, "Sorrow is better than laughter, for when a face is sad a heart may be happy (Ecclesiastes 7:3)." The only good news in the world, sorry to say, is the gospel of Christ, which is confirmed every day when you watch the news, almost all of which is bad, and then joked about in the after hours by comedians. That is the best this world can do folks, even at the presumed height of human evolutionary progress." And so the gospel brings good news in the midst of much strife, troubles, and suffering, "Bright eyes gladden the heart; Good news puts fat on the bones (Proverbs 15:30)."

Amer. Thinker appears to censor my Marty Glickman & the Berlin Olympics comment

Jack Kemp

In my two attempts to add a comment to the American Thinker article "Jesse Owens: The man who stood up for America," my comment appears to be censored because it is considered "1% toxic."

So what did I write about that was considered so toxic?

I mentioned that the 1936 Berlin Olympics had U.S. director Avery Brundage remove two Jewish sprinters from the team, namely future sportscaster Marty Glickman and Sam Stoller, so as not to embarrass Adolf Hitler when they won. See Wikipedia's Marty Glickman page here. They were replaced by Jesse Owens and another black runner.

I have even, in past years, heard Marty Glickman himself detail this outrage on a New York radio program, talking about how he and Sam Stoller had beaten to German sprinters in a preliminary non-Olympic race just before the Berlin gathering of nations' teams.

I also mentioned that one of the sprinters that Jesse Owens beat was the father of baseball's Jackie Robinson.

So what was so toxic abut the inconvenient TRUTHS I told? Avery Brundage was using a cheap excuse to kick Jews off of the actual team that ran for the U.S. in the Berlin Olympics.

Wikipedia also states in its Marty Glickman article:

Following the American entry into World War II in 1941, Glickman joined the US Marines. He was an officer in the 4th Marine Air Wing from 1943 until the end of the war in 1945.[4]

END OF QUOTE

It is now a day after I attempted to post my comment and they are still censored. I suspect American Thinker will not post them at all. I will now be forwarding this piece to the Editors of American Thinker and we will see what happens, as American Thinker rails against Twitter censorship of the New York Post's Biden story.

Postscript.  It is now nine hours later and American Thinker still hasn't approved my allegedly "toxic" comment. By the way, Marty Glickman's obituary column in the NY Times in 2001 said this, in part:

BEGIN QUOTE

Marty Glickman, Announcer And Blocked Olympian, 83

(Jesse) Owens, despite not wanting to replace Glickman and Stoller, would win his fourth gold medal at the Berlin Games.

Glickman, then 18, said publicly that Cromwell had favored Draper and Wycoff, his own athletes from U.S.C. Years later, Glickman was relentless in in his claim that Avery Brundage, the head of the United States Olympic Committee, and Cromwell were members of the America First Committee and ''sympathetic to the Nazis.''

END OF QUOTE

There were other Jews, American and European, who competed in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, winning gold and other medals.

A list can be found at the website of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum here.

They were:

Samuel Balter, USA Basketball, gold
György Bródy , Hungary Water Polo, gold
Miklos Sarkany, Hungary Water Polo, gold
Karoly Karpati, Hungary Freestyle Wrestling, gold
Endre Kabos, Hungary Individual Saber, gold
Team Saber, gold

Islamopandering -- NOT a good thing!

Dana Mathewson

From the great Robert Spencer on PJMedia:

Biden: Muslims Will Serve ‘At Every Level’ of His Administration

The sparse attendance and conspicuous lack of enthusiasm at Joe Biden’s rallies seems to have led old Joe’s handlers, despite his 10,000-point lead in the polls, to decide that another round of Islamopandering might be just the shot in the arm their campaign needs. After all, hard-Leftists such as Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Linda Sarsour are all Muslims, and all were firmly in the Bernie Sanders camp before the Democratic National Committee shivved their man yet again. Their support for Biden has been decidedly tepid. And so it was time to send them some love.

On Wednesday, Biden released a video message to Muslim Advocates, the association of Muslim lawyers that bears the primary responsibility for demanding, back in 2010, that the Obama administration remove all mention of Islam and jihad from counterterror training. Obama, of course, immediately complied, despite the fact that this would hamstring the ability of law enforcement and intelligence agencies to understand, and defeat, jihadists. And now Joe is working hard to show them that he will be just as solicitous.

"Today,” Biden declared, "trust is ebbing; hope seems elusive. Instead of healing, we’re being ripped apart.” That’s actually true, Joe, but whose fault is it, really? Biden continued: "And I refuse to let that happen. We have too bright a future to leave it shipwrecked on the shoals of anger and division.” After that poetic flight, Biden got to the point: "As president, I’ll work with you to rip the poison of hate from our society, honour your contributions and seek your ideas. My administration will look like America, Muslim Americans serving at every level.”

Let’s see. Muslims make up around one percent of America’s population. So if the administration of President Biden (or President Harris, or President Pelosi) is actually going to "look like America,” it will feature one Muslim appointee for every ninety-nine non-Muslim appointees.

Of course, the Democrats are unlikely to be that rigorous. Biden needs the support of the hard-Left, including not only Muslims such as Omar, Tlaib, Sarsour and their Muslim supporters, but their non-Muslim supporters as well, who are likely thrilled that Biden will be "inclusive” enough to place large numbers of Muslims in positions of power and influence. And in doing so, the Biden/Harris/Pelosi administration is unlikely to make any effort whatsoever to rule Sharia supremacists, Muslim Brotherhood operatives, and enemies of the freedom of speech out of consideration. Why, that would be "Islamophobic.”

And if there is anything Biden doesn’t want to appear to be at this point, it’s "Islamophobic.” At his town hall Tuesday, where George Stephanopoulos and Co. fawned over him for an hour and a half, Biden once again repudiated what he called the "New Green Deal,” despite the fact that his website still affirms support for it. The far-Left is increasingly dominant in the Democratic Party, and doesn’t take kindly to the candidate’s repeatedly throwing them under the bus. And so look! He said "Inshallah”! And now he wants Muslims at "every level” of his administration!

Just between you and me and the kitchen sink, I don't think Joe understands what is involved in making deals with the devil. Read on here https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/robert-spencer/2020/10/17/biden-muslims-will-serve-at-every-level-of-his-administration-n1066190 and more of it will become clear.

This is just one more reason we need to make sure Joe goes down to ignominious defeat on Election Day!

Judge Barrett: An Originalist, Not a Conservative Activist

Dana Mathewson

David Limbaugh (Rush's brother) penned this article on PJMedia about Amy Coney Barrett, who already is being referred to by her initials, ACB. That's some sort of fame, isn't it?

In this article he explains the vast difference in judicial philosophies between the Democrats and Republicans -- or should I say, between the Left and the Right. I would say this is essential reading even if you already have a grasp on what's going on.

I won’t pretend to be surprised by this, but Senate Democrats, knowing they don’t have the power to stop Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, have turned the confirmation hearings into a campaign platform to smear President Donald Trump.

The Democrats’ approach to the hearings illustrates how disingenuous their professed commitment to preserve the integrity of "our democracy” is. Indeed, nothing better illustrates their failure to distinguish between a democracy and a constitutional republic than their misguided judicial philosophy.

The framers of our Constitution designed our system as a constitutional republic, not a democracy. As students of history and ancient democracies, they incorporated safeguards against pure democracy, which they knew could lead to mob rule. They aimed to maximize political liberty, and that required protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

They divided and limited governmental power, as unrestrained governments tend toward tyranny. We all know the drill. They divided power between the federal and state governments (federalism) and distributed federal power among three separate branches of government (separation of powers).

They imposed an intricate scheme of checks and balances, pitting each branch against the other two to prevent any branch from becoming too powerful at the expense of the others and of individual liberties.

They included the Bill of Rights, which contained further express limitations on government, and they created a bicameral legislature to retard the governmental process and insulate it against impassioned mobs. George Washington described the upper chamber as the "senatorial saucer” that would cool legislation passed in the more democratic House.

Just as all of these structural safeguards are essential to maintaining our liberties against authoritarianism and absolutism, so is our ongoing jealous protection of these safeguards.

We have two political branches whose members are elected, directly or indirectly, by the people and that pass laws and otherwise make policy and enforce the laws. The judicial branch is a nonpolitical branch that should interpret, rather than make, laws. Courts must not act as super-legislatures because their members are not democratically chosen, because they are more insulated from accountability to the people and because the judicial branch serves the important function of interpreting laws.

When appellate courts make laws instead of interpreting them, they thwart the will of the people who elected the political branches. They violate the separation of powers and undermine the very system that was carefully crafted to preserve our liberties. We’ve seen examples of this throughout history, but especially since the ’60s, where the Supreme Court, by fiat, employs elaborate legal fictions to strike down perfectly constitutional laws passed by the other two branches, or to uphold unconstitutional laws.

Democrats argue that Republicans are just as guilty as Democrats in seeking to install judges who will enact their policy agenda. Many Democratic senators alleged that Republicans support ACB because they want her to advance their policy agenda. According to them, the GOP needs Barrett on the court to eliminate Obamacare, abortion rights and same-sex marriage — and to rule in Trump’s favor if a legal challenge to the results of the upcoming presidential election arises.

Sen. Chris Coons said that ACB would open up a new chapter of conservative judicial activism, but that is simply false. Republicans don’t want judges to advance conservative policies but to interpret the Constitution according to its originally understood meaning. This could result in overturning liberal legislation and court-enacted laws if they are unconstitutional, but not otherwise. Liberal activists, on the other hand, do substitute their policy preferences for those of Congress and twist the Constitution to do it.

Examples of liberal activism abound, but you’d be hard-pressed to find one of conservative activism. Sen. Ted Cruz cited the example of school choice: Originalist judges wouldn’t mandate that all states have school choice, but leftist judges would prevent them from having it. If Roe v. Wade were overturned, conservative judges wouldn’t force states to outlaw abortions but would leave the question to their democratic determination.

Sen. Cory Booker said that replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg with ACB would tilt the court further to the right. No, it would tilt the court further toward the Constitution, where it ought to be — and there’s a big difference.

It is not surprising that Democrats regard Barrett as a threat, given their reliance on unelected judges to usurp the lawmaking authority of the politically elected branches. But that is not how Republicans look at the judiciary, and if Democrats respected the separation of powers and truly wanted to protect the integrity of our republic, they would have nothing to fear from such stellar judicial nominees as ACB.

Democratic senators are campaigning from their senatorial perch instead of performing their duty of advice and consent. They are trying to scare voters into believing that ACB and other GOP-appointed judges will take away the people’s coverage for preexisting health conditions. Just like they continue to falsely accuse Trump of not having denounced white supremacy, they are misleading the people on health care, knowing that even if the court strikes down the Affordable Care Act entirely, Republicans have guaranteed that any replacement bill would include coverage for preexisting conditions.

Creepy/Sleepy Joe is really in trouble now!

Dana Mathewson

Why? Because Rudy Giuliani is after him. And when you are acting like a crime boss -- as Joe apparently is -- you do not want to attract the attention of one of this country's all-time great crime fighters!

From PJMedia:

Rudy Giuliani Describes the Bidens as a Crime Family. Here's Why We Should Listen to Him.

Rudy Giuliani is all over the news these days, detailing the emails and documents on that MacBook Pro laptop purported to have belonged to Hunter Biden. According to Giuliani, only about 5% of the hard drive’s relevant content has been published. That 5% already paints Joe Biden as either the figurehead or director of a conspiracy to use his political positions to generate millions of dollars from dubious and even hostile foreign sources, with son Hunter as the prime conduit. The money goes to the Biden family.

It’s an explosive charge. The Democratic Party’s presidential nominee could be the head of a syndicate trading on U.S. power as a product. Such would also greatly endanger American national security and corrupt our government at the very highest level.

But why is Rudy Giuliani the one who’s talking about it? What’s he got to do with all this?

According to the New York Post, the computer repairman who noticed the "disturbing” files on the laptop imaged its hard drive and gave that image to Giuliani via his attorney.

This makes more sense than it may seem. Giuliani has been out of office for decades now and most people probably see him as a talking head and surrogate for Donald Trump. Some may remember his unsuccessful run for president in 2000.

But Rudy Giuliani is much more than that.

Take a look at his entry in the online Mob Museum.

In 1989, when Rudolph Giuliani stepped down after six years as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, he was perhaps the most famous law enforcement official in the United States. He left a legacy of successful prosecutions of leaders of New York’s "Commission” of organized crime families, the Mafia’s international heroin and cocaine ring in the "Pizza Connection” case, as well as high-profile political corruption and Wall Street criminal cases.

Read the whole thing. The short version is, Giuliani became #3 in the U.S. Justice Department under President Reagan, then was named the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York and went to war against the mafia in 1983. He and his prosecutors systematically dismantled the mob over the course of the next six years. He took down mob bosses and henchmen, forced the corrupt Teamsters union to de-mobify and hold fair elections, and he also prosecuted corrupt politicians and inside traders on Wall Street. During the 1980s, Rudy Giuliani was arguably the best and most successful prosecutor in the world.

He unsuccessfully ran for New York mayor as a Republican in 1989, ran again in 1993, and won. Rudy’s time as mayor was the city’s rebirth. New York had descended into a deep violent crime problem over the course of decades of liberal Democrat rule and mob and union corruption. In the course of a few years, he fought crime and cleaned the city up. When he was term-limited out, Michael Bloomberg switched from Democrat to Republican and ran on a platform that amounted to saying he would do what Rudy did.

I've always liked Giuliani because he's a "git 'er done" kind of guy. The fact that he's on the job should seriously interfere with Biden's sleep, no matter how Joe tries to brazen it out.

Biden Questioner was a Plant

Timothy Birdnow

Yep - one of the questioners at the Biden townhall was a Democrat plant.

A participant in Thursday night's ABC News town hall with Democratic nominee Joe Biden previously worked as a speechwriter in the Obama administration, but was only identified during the televised event as someone who works in "communications," Fox News reported Friday.

The town hall from Philadelphia moderated by George Stephanopoulos included a question from Nathan Osburn, who reportedly worked in the Office of Public Affairs and was director of speechwriting for members of President Obama's Cabinet.

The Twitter bio for a Nathan Osburn says he's a former Cabinet speechwriter.

The Hill has reached out to ABC News for comment.

When Osburn was selected to ask a question of Biden, his profession was only shown as "communications." He was introduced by Stephanopoulos only as a "Philadelphia Democrat."

Osburn's question regarded President Trump's Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett "being pushed through at the last minute" despite millions already voting and what Osburn argued was "the erosion of rights of LBGTQ Americans."

If Biden is so far ahead why does he feel the need to cheat? Why is the news media complicit?
