Does anybody remember Gerry Ford’s campaign slogan ? "Whip Inflation Now” (WIN).

Then Carter came in and Fed Chairman Paul Volker strangled the life out of the economy. Balloon mortgages and car loans thru the roof.

It all came about from the Arab oil embargo in 1973 - 1974, in retaliation for U.S. support for Israel in the Yom Kippur war.

It’s the oil, Bubba. It’s all about the oil. Thought we had that fixed a little while ago.
