1 Sorry, Tim, NOTAM is not a "warming system." It is a system for the distribution of notices, such as airport closures, no fly zones, and other FAA directives. It's name is an acronym for "Notices To Airmen."

2  I will say if not for the first mid air collision in a decade that this story probably would have been buried amongst the obituaries. Why is this a story that has 24/7 coverage when almost twice as many people die in auto crashes in a day then died that day? I have watched fiery car crashes more horrific then this knowing the people in them saw it coming. Only the pilot and copilot of the passenger jet knew what was going to happen as the jet made a last second veer. To me its obvious that the  pilot and copilot of the helicopter for whatever reason was inattentive, being as they were not only flying too high but also off course by almost a hundred feet.

3 Thank you Bill. Articles I have read called it a warning system, so I assumed that was the case. But I did know it was about lane closures and the like.

BTW Biden changed the name to "Notice to Airfields" out of pure political correctness. Then everyone wonders why we are seeing crashes and whatnot.
