1 Not entirely on topic, but NBC News (sic) did a segment on a risk calculator where you can put in your location and the size of your group and obtain the Covid-19 risk. Very scientific, they said, because we are all about following the science.

As a sample they plugged in a group of fifty and a certain county and said the risk showed 50% of Covid. Don’t go there, because you’ll die.

So I tried out the calculator, and it showed a risk for my party of fifty at 48% for my location. Now, was that a 48% chance of getting Covid-19? No, it was not. It was a risk that at least one of the fifty people at my party would bring the Corona virus to the party.

So if one person brings the virus into my party, what are the odds that anyone at the party will get Covid-19? Jeez. It’s about 5% or so. The function of today’s news media is to terrorize.

2 Bill, if I throw a party for 50, I'm sure expecting people will bring booze instead of COVID. And knowing the kind of people I'd invite, most of 'em would. Wine, Bourbon, beer etc.

3 I'd love to come to your party Dana. I'll have to pass on the booze, though. I break out in a bad case of stoopid every time I drink, so I gave it up 37 years ago. I can guarantee I won't bring Covid, though, since I've already had it and recovered.

Yeah; that calculator is a prime example of the kind of tricks the media plays - or is it just stupidity?
