1  Cant happen. As we have learned from a truly brilliant member of Congress the island would surely tip over.

2 Maybe if they were to send that "brilliant member of Congress" that you mention as the first inmate, it would keep the Rock stable. I can think of other "brilliant members of Congress" who should be sent there (for some obscure reason, all the ones who spring to mind are Democrats, but I'm probably not thinking hard enough). But in doing so, we might exceed the capacity of the place.

Dana, if we start sending political criminals there the island would reach capacity immediately. the whole Bay area would fill right up, in fact. I would sayit would be like Escape from New York only that was just Manhattan.

Maybe we should do the Lex Luthor thing and set off nukes on the San Andreas fault so the whole state become an island and turn THAT into a prison? Mike, you and reader Bill will have to move before then. I would suggest you buy land on the east side of the fault line and then you'd own the choicest real estate in America!

4 Only problem with that is that the movement of the plates is such that mu position down here in San Diego County on the east side of the San Andreas doesn't mean I would have seafront property, it means I would eventually live in an eastern suburb of San Francisco.
