So Chris Christie thinks DeSantis was wrong to make it illegal to cut genitalia off children. He seems to believe it is "conservative" to leave it up to "the parents".
Uh, that is LIBERTARIANISM and not Conservativism. Conservativismm does not believe in any form of radical individualism in that fashion. Libertarians believe government has no role - period. Conservatives, on the other hand, believe in "nature and nature's God" and that there are laws that supersede our wishes. And it is government's role to enforce those.
It's why Conservatives oppose abortion; the right to life supersedes the convenice of a woman who just couldn't say no.
So Christie doesn't know what the difference between Libertarianism and Conservativismis, and thinks the one is the other.
Also, he's a moral midget. He is advocating for the "rights" of parents to permanently mutilate their children. We have spent generations trying to stamp out female circumcision in Africa, yet here we are doing something very similar in the West and think nothing of it. So,if parents from Africa want to do female circumcision on their daughters will Mr. Christie support that?
Or foot binding for those of Chinese descent?
In fact we have always found such things done to children to be abhorrent. We do not let deaf parents have surgeries performed on their children tomake them deaf also, even though many wish they had deaf children so they could be "like them".
This is a form of mutilation and children do not have the moral and intellectual development to acquisce with full cognition.
I would add there is a growing body of evidence to suggest the problem of "transgndered" kids is really a problem of crazy mothers, who are essentially "transhausen by proxy" to gain status. There has been research done, going way back, that suggests most "trans"children are that way to please parents with emotional and mental disorders.
In a 1991 study researchers found that mothers of trans boys suffered from Borderline Personality Disorder. 53% of them did, compared to just 6% of the control group. That result has been repeated on a number of occasions, despite efforts to bury it.
So Christie thinks a mentally disturbed parent should be able to amputate a boy's penis, or a girl's breasts because "that's Conservative".
We have a whole plethora of laws restricting what kids can or cannot do, or can or cannot be done to them. Children may not drink alcohol, even with the parent's permission. (Ramaswamy made this point in the debate.) Does Mr. Christie believe it acceptable to give a nine year old a bottle of wine?
There is nothing Conservative about this viewpoint. Nothing.
And why does Christie think leaving it "up to the parents" will end there? We know how this goes; the Left will do what they did with abortion, hiding it from the parents when they deem the parent's wishes to be unacceptable. We are seeing this right now with school boards making policies to "transition" kids without the knowledge of the parents. Why does Christie think taking the law out of it is going to make this a mtter for the kid and the kids' parents?
Right now this is a wedge, and the Left will make this a parental rights argument, but soon they will reject that and say a child has an absolute right to a sex change, just as they did with abortion.
If Christie thinks this will stop with the crazy parents he is a fool. The Left NEVER stops until they take everything.
Of course it's not just Christie. Nikki Haley did indeed kill a bill in South Carolina that would have prevented men in drag from using girl's bathrooms. She said it wasn't a problem. But it's a tapestry, and if you pull out one threaed the whole thing unravels. Drag queens on the throne have turned into mad scientists with garden sheers looking to clip off your son's schnickle and we can thank the short-sightedness of Haley for that in North Carolina, at least. Certainly it happened in Virgia.
A society that refuses to protect the most vulnerable of us is a horribly degenerate and obscene one, and that is where modern America is right now. That is, I might add, in no small part a result of the thinking of people like Chris Christie and Nikki Haley.
If Mr. Chrisite thinks it is a parent's decision, what else does he believe a parent should decide? Does he support the rights of parents to refuse to vaccinate their kids? He didn't hold that position over Covid vaccinations, or mask mandates. He was just fine with governments telling parents what they had to inject in their kids' bodies or place upon them.
I would say Bridge Blocker Chris is a hypocrite, but that doesn't do the him justice.
Children require guidance. Theyoften are confused about who and what they are, and that is the whole reason they HaVE parents. And parents are not always perfect. Some are bad and some terrible. Society can and must protect kids from the really bad ones.
Would Christie have prosecuted John Phillips for his repeated statutory rape and sodomy of his daughter McKenzie? If so why? He was her dad, after all, and it should have been up to him, not some government agency, right? And what John Phillips did to his daughter was only emotionally destructive; what these parents are doing to their kids will physically mutilate them for life. Pedo John was kinder.
Tere is nothing "Conservative" about this amoral and degenerate viewpoint.

Actually our Pizza Huts here in St. Louis aren't too bad. In fact my dad really likes it (but he has no sense of taste anymore.)
I live near The Hill, St. Louis' little Italy, and so I'm spoiled about pizza. I have not one but TWO restaurants on my block that sell pizza. Both are very good, although one is a Bosnian restaurant and not Italian.
