Stop Making Concessions to the Left

Timothy Birdnow

I tire of our side conceding ppoints to the media and the left. We do it all the time and it is a foolish exercise. Even if it is a matter of wording - such as when Joe Wilson said "that's a lie" to a statement made by Obama and the media morphed it into "You lie", a much ruder and more offensive statement - we let the enemy control the terms and structure of any debate, thus framing it in a way pleasing to themselves and damaging to our side.

Here is a classic example of our surrender to the media and the liberals on a matter we should fight them over. Rick Moran, whose brother is a mainstream journalist at CNN, makes the following statement about Donald J. Trump:

"Clinton made an appearance on British TV and pointed out that " we just elected someone who admitted sexual assault to the presidency," referring to the "Access Hollywood" tape that was leaked during the campaign where Trump admitted groping and trying to kiss women."

End excerpt.

But what did Trump admit to?
Here is the pertinent (and disgusting) passage from the Access Hollywood tape that was aired by the media to destroy Trump:

Trump: "I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach. I moved on her, and I failed. I'll admit it. I did try and ____ her, she was married."

Unknown: "That's huge news there."

Trump: "No, no, Nancy. No this was [inaudible] and I moved on her very heavily in fact I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said I'll show you where they have some nice furniture. I moved on her like a bitch. I couldn't get there and she was married. Then all-of-a-sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony tits and everything. She's totally changed her look."

[...]

Trump: "Yeah that's her with the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful... I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything."

Bush: "Whatever you want."

Trump: "Grab them by the _____. You can do anything."

End excerpts.

Yes, Trump is saying he gropes women and kisses them, but nowhere is he say He admits in this very assage that he WILL take no for an answer if the woman denies him. The girl in question did that very thing, and though Trump made a big effort to get her to put out she wouldn't and that was that. No hard feelings. And what exactly is Trump saying about kissing and groping them? He makes a point at the end that shows he is not forcing himself on unwilling women when he says ""when you're a star they let you do it."

In other words wer are seeing something very different from what we are seeing with Harvey Weinstein - or Bill Clinton. Clinton was accused of forcible rape by Juanita Broderick and further accused of strongarming women in need. Weinstein is being accused of raping women. What Trump did was despicable and morally offensive on many levels but it is hardly the equal of Clinton/einstein. Or Weiner. Or Chris Dodd, or Ted Kennedy, or any of the other myriad Democrats who bothered women over the years (and certainly Trump was just such a Democrat in the past).

Am I splitting hairs here? Perhaps, but it's time we stop letting the Left make moral equivalency arguments, especially when their moral outrage has been lukewarm when it's someone they support. Our side should go after them more aggressively

Onr of the problems Conservatives have is a willingness to accept "common facts" which is nothing but a way of saying accepting leftist assumptions and arguments. There really was no good reason for Rick Moran to include this, in fact, he had no reason to write this article in general, as you aren't going to shame Hillary with her own hypocrisy. But if we are going to address these issues we should have the good sense not to give the Left any concessions. We do that entirely too often.

Look, we know Trump is a filanderer and a braggart. How honest was he in this private pubescent boys club discussion? He may have been "talking p____" as Vernon Jordan said of his golfing discussions with Bill Clinton. At the time Conservatives said it was unseemly, but hardly evidence of "sexual assault". Many women have come forward against Bill - enough so that Hillary had to run a "bimbo eruptions squad" and many wonmen were destroyed or silenced out of fear. Trump does not seem to be in a similar situation. With the massive amount of money being offered to bring Trump down (scumbag pornographer Larry Flynt just offered tens of millions to anyone who can get the President impeached) something credible would have come forward by now. Weinstein, on the other hand, is being accused by some of the top actresses in Hollywood. And Bill Clinton? A few accusers have met with untimely deaths...

So while these situations are a bit similar they are not analogous. There is no proof Trump ever actually did anything to anyone. That's not to let him off the hook; he's going to have to answer to God in the end. But it certainly shows the hypocrisy of the liberal media and the Democrats. I just think we need to stop accepting any of their premeses.
