1 I went to the gym on the 26th for my usual twice-weekly strength training, and my trainer was half dead. I think I could actually have kicked his ass for a change. Seems his family was in town from out of state and he'd done a little too much partying. I harassed him unmercifully. I may pay a terrible price next week, but I simply could not pass up the chance.

Oh, shit. Now that I'm thinking about it, I may not even go in next week.

3 Gym, huh? I was in one of things a number of years ago when visiting a friend in Houston. He and a friend of his went for their weekly session and I tagged along. They got me into the program, and I actually survived. Normally I stay away from that sort of thing. My motto is "No pain, no pain."

Living where I do, during the winter I have to operate a snow-blower on numerous occasions. Having a water softener means that every so often (like, say, yesterday) I have to lug a 40-pound bag of salt crystals downstairs to the laundry room, pick it up and empty it into the unit. And occasionally my wife and I have to pack up her 40-pound Kawai keyboard, its amplifier and ancillary equipment, put it all into the van and take it to wherever we're playing.


So it's not as if I were a full-time office potato. . .

Yes, Bill, it does sound as if you may have sounded off a bit too much.

4 Yeah; I usually avoid exeercise too.  I used to get plenty at my jobs, but that has ended and now I really need to start some sort of program. Thing is I utterly despise exercising for the sske of it; it strikes me as unproductive (like cutting the grass, you just have to do it all over in a few days.)
