Nate Silver, the Democratic pollster and hardly a "right wing nut" argues that media coverage of the COVID 19 virus and it's growing numbers is misinformation.
From the article:
Silver was bothered that certain stories failed to mention that some growth in the coronavirus infection number is a result of an increase in testing.
"Not providing context on the increase in testing is such a basic error, and has been so widespread, that it's revealing about the media's goals. It's more interested in telling plausibly-true stories ("narratives") that sound smart to its audience than in accuracy/truth per se,†Silver said in response to author James Surowiecki calling out recent reports from Axios and The New York Times."
Of course he would not actually utter the word bias, or admit that there is an agenda at work. But at least he's admitting there is a problem. As Lucy Van Pelt says in A Charlie Brown Christmas "the fact that you realize you need help means you are not too far gone". Silver appears to be the only one still capable of realizing his side has a problem.
Still, Silver says this is NOT fake news because the details are factually correct. That is the essence of media bias; they usually have facts correct but omit some and arrange others in a way to paint a picture that is untrue. We call that lying.
But Silver couldn't go that far.
He does admit Trump is right and the mainstream media is wrong, which is Yuuugggee...
