Because of Europe’s keep fossil fuels in the ground policies. They are relying on Russia for natural gas and energy. This is stupid. They have plenty of oil, natural gas, and coal within Europe to supply their own energy needs. Energy security is important. I like a warm house in the winter so do people in Europe. Many may not be able to afford it.

1 Most of Europe is controlled by the EU, a bunch of un-elected bureaucrats who like the idea of despotism -- as long as they're the ones pulling the strings. It also clouds their thinking in other ways. I would think the sensible thing would be for more EU countries to follow Britain's example and pull out. After three or four more escape the chicken coop, I'd bet the whole house of cards would collapse.

2 They do need to leave.

But Britain is acting as if it is still in the Union. My British friends on Facebook are always beside themselves. Boris Johnson may as well be a member of the Labor Party.

3 Britain very much needs another Lady Thatcher. Or another Winston Churchill. Boris Johnson doesn't come off well at all in comparison to them.

4 No he doesn't. It's a shame, too, as he showed such promise early on. It's his wife; she wants to be in the Ruling Class and pushes Johnson, I suspect.

5 Ah! You suspect he's being pussy-whipped? That's been the downfall of many a good man.

It might be better if politicians were single.
