Military Generals Aren't Conservative, They're Socialist

"For anyone under the control of the federal government want to remain employed it seems they must support the progressive movement and we all know what that really means.â€

That's why they want everyone on the government payroll; if you work for them you are beholden to them.

It's even worse with the military top brass as they are all educated at the same place (West Point, Annapolis, the Air Force Academy,) and those are basically Ivy League schools with the same leftist professors. So the top brass are nothing but indoctrinated children of privilege. Poor kids don't become generals.

And the top levels of the military have been more politicians than warriors anyway. Look at George Patton (as long ago as WWII.) He was perhaps the last true warrior general. Now they are all diplomats and political hacks.

1 Warrior generals fight wars to win them. We stopped doing that years ago in Vietnam and, perhaps with the exception of that little dust-up in Grenada, we've never started again. Although there've been a couple of good generals in the not-too-distant past: Norman Schwarzkopf and Creighton Abrams.

2 Schwarzkopf took a bunch of heat for his battle plan in Iraq "hey diddle diddle, straight through the middle!" But had we done that we would have come to grips with the Iraqi army, even the Republican Guard, and beaten them honorably. Most would not have joined the insurgency, and we would have destroyed those who would have. In the end we would probably have pacified Iraq in short order. But the plan to flank the Iraqi army got us to Baghdad quickly but left the whole thing in tact - thus allowing them to melt into the public and start the terrorist war against us.

Schwarzkopf's plan would have saved lives in the end.

And despite this soft strategy never working we keep employing it. It's madness.

We need fighters, not diplomats.

I am mindful of Ulysses S. Grant. Lee knew the war was lost when Lincoln appointed Grant as Supreme Commander of the Army of the Potomac, not because Grant was a brilliant tactician but because Grant would do the one thing Lee's opponents had all been unwilling to do - he would fight. To the last man if he had to. This was a disaster for Lee and the Confederacy.

We need more Grants and fewer McClellans, preening pencil pushers more concerned with not losing then with winning.
