A Russian opposition politician, Ilya Yashin, has just been
sentenced to EIGHT and a half YEARS in prison for—get this—spreading
"misinformation
" (about the war in Ukraine). Where have we heard that word, "misinformation
,"
before? And from whom? Yep. American liberals. So if you want an idea
of where American leftists are going with this "misinformation
" bullshit, look no further than Vladimir Putin's Russia. What "misinformation
"
was Yalkin spreading? That Russian troops have committed atrocities in
Ukraine, and that the "special military operation" is nothing more than
a war of aggression for territorial gain. And Yashin was one of the few
Russian politicians who spoke out against the first Russian invasion of
Ukraine, in 2014, when they seized Crimea. After his sentence was
pronounced, he said to the court, "Anyone who believes Vladimir Putin
will still be in power in eight years is dreaming." Gotta love his
pluck! He joins fellow opposition politician, Alexei Navalny, in
prison. (Doesn't that sound familiar, too? Certain Democratic
politicians are just drooling over the prospect of charging a certain
presidential candidate and putting him in jail. Isn't it "interesting"—o
r
at least telling—that "liberals" sound more and more like an ex-KGB
dictator? Scratch a Democrat, and you'll find a Bolshevik!)
Tim adds:
The U.S. is backing Ukraine not because Russia is a tyrant so much (well, it is) but because it's not OUR type of tyrant. They want Putin to bow to the Western woke model.
