Presbyterian Minister says "Jesus is a Liar"
Jack Kemp
Maybe
the "lesbian bishop" should become Commissioner of the NFL, since she
knows so much about clearing out seat occupancy overcrowding at public
gatherings.
Needless to say, this story begs further comment from religious Chistians in this email group of mine.
After watching the United Methodist Church’s "lesbian bishop†boldly warnpeople not to "idolize Jesus†since the Savior of mankind and God in
the flesh didn’t "know it all,†it seems the Presbyterian Church USA
took it as a challenge to see if they could do something to drive their
own denomination into the ground even quicker than the United
Methodists.
And they may have just found that elusive spiritual kill-switch that makes all other blasphemers jealous:
The
leader of the second largest congregation in the Presbyterian Church
(USA), Rev. Shannon Johnson Kershner has declared that Christianity is
not the only way to heaven. Kershner, 45, who leads the 5,500 member
Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois, expressed her belief
in a podcast with the Chicago Sun-Times after she was asked the
question, "Is Christianity the only way to heaven?â€
.
"No,†Kershner replied bluntly.
Well
there you go. If trying to decide the saddest part about this
spectacle, it would probably have to be the startling number of her
5,500-member congregation who won’t even realize she’s full of it.
Honestly, anyone who walks back into her church motivated by anything
other that sheer morbid curiosity to see what manner of new age
spiritualistic humanism was on tap for that day actually doesn’t have a
clue what Christianity is anyway.
It’s clear Kershner doesn’t. I don’t mean that as some hyperbolic attack. I’m completely serious – it’s painfully clear:
"God’s
not a Christian. I mean, we are … For me, the Christian tradition is
the way to understand God and my relationship with the world and other
humans and it’s the way for me to move into that relationship but I’m
not about to say what God can and cannot do in other ways and with
other spiritual experiences,†she explained.

This reminds me of the South Sea Island Cargo Cults. In New Guinea and other islands the pagan natives saw all this loot coming out of these big metal birds, and they concluded this was meant for them and not the white (or Japanese) devils who had hijacked it through superior magical rituals. So they built little airports complete with conning towers and wore headsets and even lit the runways with torches. But these were not airports so the planes never came. To the casual eye they looked like airports but when examined they turned out to be fakes, just some savages pretending to be air traffic controllers and whatnot.
This "Bishop" is like that. She uses the lingo, wears the vestments, and has the trappings of a Christian but is as authentic as a cargo cult airport. She's a heretic, in short, and she's promoting her particular heresy to others. Jesus warned about the hot fires of Hell for someone who leads his sheep astray...
